I agree but we all know the mentality people feel about Nigerian women especially men : which is a woman will say my money is mine and your money is ours.
That's what most men feel women are.

I don't see any reason trashing it here. Let each man deal with his wife and household as he deem fit . Simple
There is nothing men feel about Nigerian women's mentality that has not been confirmed here.
If you cared to read the thread, most women who have posted on this thread reveal that they infact subscribe to "My money is mine, yours is ours"....confirming exactly what you say men feel about nigerian women.

Sounds more like you should be channelling your seeming dissagreement to such women for perpetuating such a majority view of women.
Your disagreement just seems undirected and wild.

But that's the point! YOUR TITHE IS MEANT TO ASSIST THE NEEDY! Bro read your bible and get understanding. It is your duty to give your tithes to the widow orphans levites stragers and not your pastors duty
One could even say It is the pastor's duty to share the tithes among the needy, but tough luck getting any pastor to agree to giving to the needy.

Am SHOCKED that such question can exist when there is so MUCH KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD OF GOD everywhere.

Is the organisation GOD'S REPRESENTATIVE INSTITUTE?

Your funny question is like a university of Lagos Medical student asking if he can write exam in any other university with the same department.

I am really shocked at your question but I guess you are not really serious.

When you MARRY, so do show love to your wife or to all wives in the world?

GOD IS ONE, GOD HAS A SYSTEM AND PLACE WHERE HIS WORSHIPERS ASSEMBLE, IT IS CALLED THE CHURCH..... It would be confusion for the same God to have different means of Approach because it would mean He is not consistent with His nature. Also, TITHE is really not an ISSUE as daddy freeze and others have been barking about... TITHE BEGAN BEFORE THE LAW even in the book of Genesis.... so it is NOT a question OF WHETHER TO PAY OR NOT.... it is simply a system of how God's GOVERNMENT WORKS.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD is a REAL KINGDOM and every KINGDOM has taxes and levis BUT It seems that we have outgrown the KINGDOM system and forgotten it exists simply because we are under a PRESIDENTIAL RULE. NONETHELESS, God is not mocked, and PAYING TITHE or NOT PAYING will not guarantee you a place in heaven,

SO PLEASE STUDY YOUR BIBLE TO CONFIRM WHAT I HAVE SAID, so that no one will come here with MINDLESS CHATTER without scriptural references. WE DO NOT SERVE A KING BY THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS OR EMPATHY OR SYMPATHY.... WE SIMPLY FOLLOW THE LAID DOWN PRINCIPLES OF HOW HE WANTS TO BE SERVED.

TITHE IS NOT A DONATION, NEITHER IS IT ALMS or GIFT
First things first, tithing is very old testament. But it is a good practice. Secondly follow me to read the bible past what your G.Os allow you to think....
Giving Tithes
(Leviticus 27:30-34; Deuteronomy 26:1-15; Nehemiah 13:10-14)

22You must be sure to set aside a tenth of all the produce brought forth each year from your fields. 23And you are to eat a tenth of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks, in the presence of the LORD your God at the place where He will choose as a dwelling for His Name, so that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

24But if the distance is too great for you to carry that with which the LORD your God has blessed you, because the place where the LORD your God will choose to put His Name is too far away, 25then exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place where the LORD your God will choose. 26Then you may spend the money on anything you desire: cattle, sheep, wine, strong drink, or anything you wish. You are to feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice with your household. 27And do not neglect the Levite within your gates, since he has no portion or inheritance among you.

28At the end of every three years, bring a tenth of all your produce for that year and lay it up within your gates. 29Then the Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will bless you in all the work of your hands.
v25) So tell me, does your church let YOU partake of the combined congregational tithes? Do the members feast on the tithes? Tithing is basically a big massive potluck among God's gathering of people. What sort of potluck is it where you bring food (money), but then only the host takes the food and does not share it? Tithes are not for the church administration to eat alone.

v29) Even if you yourself do not feast on the tithe, does your church now make the tithe available to the needy to feast on? Or does it keep it all to itself? Can you be able to tell that needy person "Hey I'm taking my tithe to the church. Follow me and the church will distribute some of it to you?". If you cannot, then that is not biblical tithing.

So it stands to proven biblical law that whatever these churches are practicing, it is NOT actual TITHING, but some scheme whereby it simply collects 10% of the income of a lot of gullible people, without following through with THE WHOLE expected process of a tithe. You are simply giving to the church, and there is nothing wrong with that....just don't lie to God's people. True tithing is not practiced in any church today so forget about that (most church leaders are ignorant of these in-depth studies...and some of said ignorance might even be willful).

For the brother or sister who will bring Malachi into it I will tell you further: Given what you have read above, who is the one "not allowing that there be food in God's house" upon all said tithes?....logical extraction would say it is the leaders of the church.....again, either by ignorance or willful ignorance

But you see, even the church leaders won't come under judgement of all that. Because tithing at the end of the day, is an old testament law, and they are under Christ...so they are justified men and women of God as it is written in the new testament!
Same goes for you!

So never let anyone bully you into any form of religious slavery, especially one that puts confusion in your heart regarding following laws instead of living by the holy Spirit.

In the new era of Christ, ALL your money belongs to God. Christ purchased you. You are slave of Christ, and are merely a steward of HIS resources.
If you are led, you may even give more than 10%, 20%, 50% of your proceeds to projects of the kingdom.
Projects of the kingdom are not limited to just "church buildings". It could also simply be coming to the aid of someone who prayed the night before for help from above, creating a means for evangelism.

So go ahead and bring that person to church to hear the gospel, then afterwards, distribute between them and whoever in the congregation you know to be in need whatever monies/things you planned on tithing...as well as putting some towards the church. That way, you fulfill the biblical tithe that is not trully practised today.

It is well.

It is not a sin when one's wife "happens' to be richer. It is the acceptance thereof that is.

An abnormality doesn't happen per chance. Human negligence usually creates it. In this context (the imbalance of financial distribution between a man and his wife in favour of the woman) the man Usually causes it by ignoring certain factors during courtship. Like signs that she has bigger ambition (for money). As a naive fellow, you may ask what's wrong with that.

Women by nature are attracted to and look forward to marrying men who are richer and a sure bet in providing comfort and security. Except for few occasions, they marry "less" when age or other unfavorable factors become a conditioner.
Statistics comes to my aid, proving me right that such union is twice as unlikely to succeed.

Being a man, nay a husband is far much more than putting food on the table and providing security for the family. They're plenty of natural (and if you may, spiritual) benefits that comes with it.

There are emotional and intellectual differences between both sexes and irrespective of some doctored research, men triumph in virtually all discipline. Look at the world around you -- it is MAN MADE!!! Except you're struck with cerebral palsy there's no excuse why you shouldn't lead your wife in finance, wisdom and intelligence.

After all, she gave you several headstart with all the natural impediments that holds the female folk down.
So in summary, the "wisdom" you are passing on is:
- Do not marry any woman that seems like she has a brain. Always opt for the stupid one to be on the safe side.
- If she has a job and eventually starts earning more from it than you make, get her fired or get her to quit. We can't have that!
- If she has a business that suffers the abnormality of being successful, more than yours, scatter it. How dare she?

I never knew that men are now supposed to be doing the work of Satan in their wives' lives.

To each their own man.
The more I endure this conversation, the more I thank God I wasn't raised to be as evil as the seemingly average Nigerian man.

Read genesis 2 and 3 clearly, the instruction God gave adam and what eve told the serpent was slightly different Adam never saw eve as the weaker sex before the fall, they had no idea of gender before the fall, Adam saw eve as his helpmeet and companion. Becoming the weaker sex came after the fall as eve's punishment. lastly show me the scripture and verse where adam ate tge fruit in sacrifice to eve's naiveity (not foolishness) . i would have loved to explain this further in detail but you have proved that you are one of those men who can't learn from a woman and is blinded to the truth because of your ego.

talking more to you will be a waste of time. learn to change your effiminate, weak mindset. Bye.
Haba, is your need to twist scripture this bad that you will be lying again?

God said: If you eat the fruit, you shall surely die.
Eve said exactly that to the serpent: God said if we eat this fruit, we shall surely die.

then the Serpent entered her head with: You shall not surely die, but you will be like God.

And just like that, she allowed a snake she met just now fool her into disobeying her God and her husband....because she LUSTED after the thought of being like God. Her GREED made her dissatisfied with the current peaceful situation and she lusted after God's powers.

Adam ate the fruit because she had already damned herself, and it was a Romeo Juliet move. That's what you do when there is no other woman in the world, and the last one has basically killed herself in seeming naivety. He figured he might as well die with her.

you didnt read your bible well, Adam's job drscriptiin BEFORE THE FALL was to tend and keep the garden and name the animals and also rule over them. Eve was simply company for adam, a helpmate, not a fifty fifty, not a head of the family. God never told eve about the tree of knowledge of good and evil, he told adam. that was why the serpent deceived eve.

Adam is the reason for the FALL OF MAN, not eve.
Adam's job became BOTH their job.
They would work together to achieve goals and if she is with child he is there to keep on doing.

As to the fruit...IF YOU ACTUALLY READ the bible instead of flicking through to cherry pick what supports your laziness... Eve repeated Adam's instruction to her when the snake came. Adam had already instructed her about what God said of the tree, and she knew God is real because he fellowshiped with them.

SHE had all the tools to not screw up, but she decided to ruin everything because of HER GREED.
By the time she had already brought it to Adam, she HAD ALREADY eaten it.
He saw himself as her protector, being the weaker sex, and He didn't want her to be alone in the carnage to come.
That is why he ate it too....in self sacrifice to EVE's foolishness.

So shut up with all that.
Lazy people will always twist briefly transposed scripture to suite their corrupt purposes.

Is this the reason you seek marriage -- to rest your financially weary and battered shoulders on her? I see her overtaken by premature wrinkles and fatigue by the sheer size of your masculine biceps.

I see her placing you and your children as secondary to her career while your housemaid is elevated to a mom status in the eyes of your innocent children who are exposed to all manners of indecency because daddy was a brainwashed leech who sent mom out on the street to make him so doe.

I see your wife staring lustfully at her boss wishing he was you. "Oh, such glaring contrast in personalities", she mutters under her breath as she considers his towering stature over your minuscule and wretched mindset. She dresses for work every morning with him on her mind, not for the toy husband she left at home.

She's blessed whoever she be. She (will) rests her delicate head on my manly shoulders while I weather the storm for her. The sun ray is but a stranger to her countenance as she's spared from the neo-cultural slavery her female counterparts are being exposed to by men like you who have been beaten down by the laziness.[/s]

She works for pleasure and not for pressure. [s]She sings her children to sleep free from fatigue and she rises up in the morning kissing my lips with the calm assurance of a gallant woman who got my home covered when I go out to bring in the spoils.[/s]

The emboldened is the only anchorable logical point you have made towards our discussion.

Now, what if her "work for pleasure" places her far above you in wealth as it dwarfs your relatively meager provisions?
What will you attach your ego to then?
From your rhetoric, it seems this will be unacceptable to you as you would lack the tools/mindset to proceed upon such a situation.

The brand of manhood I am encouraging you to see is immune to such things because it is anchored to far more immutable things.
A brand much needed in THIS era, where women achieve as much as or sometimes more than men....not always less, as you are obviously used to.
These women need not be lonely or made to feel unloved/unlovable simply because they earn much more than you. That is a pointless and wicked torture.

FlirtyKaren:
Nollywood actor, Benson Okonkwo, has said he is already used to people accusing him of being gay and is tired of talking about it. Okonkwo noted that playing gay roles in three movies in the past was probably the reason why he was being accused of being gay.

The actor has endured a public backlash over the last couple of days, particularly on the Internet shortly after he released some nude photos of himself, in which he used a curtain to cover his manhood. The actor immediately reacted to the insults he got from people by releasing a statement on his Instagram page.

However, in a chat with Saturday Beats, the actor blamed the situation on his being “handsome”.

“There is nothing wrong with that picture; I have talked about this gay issue endlessly and I am tired. People always accuse handsome men of being gay.

“I have played the role of being gay in three movies so maybe they are accusing me because I did justice to the roles. I am a versatile actor, so I was just being professional.

“I took the picture for a movie. I have been living with this allegation and it is not fair; God will judge the people judging me. Whoever thinks he has clean hands should cast the first stone.

“Let them keep talking, talk is cheap and free; rumours even make me more popular. I have my fans, people still love me regardless of what some others say,” he told Saturday Beats.

I won't have the luxury of time to sift through your post line for line but you lack spirituality. This is the foundation of all your problems.

Someone said bride price is a biblical injunction but you countered by saying there's nothing biblical about bride price. I wasn't surprised.

It is not within human capacity to set moral benchmarks because man is first self-seeking, bias and make decisions based on his feelings which are subject to emotions. So permit me to say you display crass ignorance when you question a tradition as old as creation because it has been corrupted by some people.

Because of your limited sensibility, you exist as purely blood and tissue, and mainly function on the physical plain. It is impossible for your kind to understand the spiritual aspect of marriage.

Bride price is more of a spiritual rite than monetary exchange. In the spiritual connotation, the husband replaces the Bride's father as the provider, protector and source of identity and nothing goes for nothing in the spiritual realm. For such a transition to occur there must be some rituals (with spiritual undertone) which the bride price constitutes a part of. Without it no woman is properly married except the Bride's father forgoes it.

When the foundation of your perceptions is based on how you feel, you open yourself up to insatiable lust for unhealthy ideologies which tickle your fantasy but lack the power to satisfy. Like a boundless cloud you keep oscillating in an endless cycle of rebellion, looking for new twists. The old foundation may look unattractive but its root goes deeper than any other and those who built their principles on it survive the storms of the times.

I'll conclude by saying that it was completely irresponsible of you to stigmatize a tribe for its custom.
I guess, by this your analogy, couples like the Kenneth Copelands, etc have not married and are just doing boyfriend /girlfriend because there was no brideprice or offer for it.

I am a christian too, but I won't go as far as trying to over-spiritualize the wind saying "because there was no brideprice (or father not given a chance to refuse it), they haven't married".

The only thing God cares about is that 2 people come together to agree that THIS is what they want.
"For this reason a man will LEAVE his father and mother and cling to his wife".
Their approval is nice, but by no means is it 100% necessary. People lead happily married lives everyday without the approval of their parents...who eventually grow up and get over themselves when they realize it is themselves they are doing.
When a thing that is MERELY symbolic becomes an excuse for standard greed, then it has outlived its usefulness.

Again, with this mindset you also demonize women who make their own money (possibly more than the man) and that they cannot marry or be happy....because they bring more resources into the marriage. You have yet to address this from the previous thread on this subject.

Let me boil it down for you in a simple question: Would you be able to marry a woman who has no need for your provision?

Now that I have your attention lol. I knooooow you all are probably slammed with these questions all the time but I thought I’d give it a shot.

I’m from America and I met this guy...he’s Nigerian of course...completely random...on a dating site (a complete random Christian dating site at that). Initially I didn’t realize where he was from until he asked if we could talk via Facebook. SO I was like of course...he gave me his name and though it was a common Nigerian name (I learned this AFTER getting to know him) I still didn’t realize he lived in Nigerian until I asked him where he was from and...bam! He’s in a whole other country.

So here I’ve been getting to know this guy...I’m really into him and he’s in another country. Of course as soon as I google international dating regarding someone in Nigerian NOTHING but red flags pop up (which is so unfair that an entire country has such a bad name when it comes to dating internationally) BUT I am 7 years older than him, he is still in college and it makes me wonder...could this be a scam? Is he going to eventually ask me for something?

My question is how in the world do you really know? Is there anyone currently dating internationally I can connect with? It would just be nice to have someone who can relate to my situation and also some insight on what to look for if one thought they were being scammed. All I’ve seen is they ask for money, they won’t talk to you on the phone or video chat and they use fake identies BUT that’s literally not the case as he doesn’t ask for money and we talk on the phone as video chat frequently. THE only odd thing he did was tell me he loved me VERY fast because he “wanted to make his intentions known” (that’s when I began my googling and found this site).

If you had that experience as a reference, you can even get a mechanic to do it for you and you won't be fooled.

The same way it is only someone that comes from outside that can tell you if the house you have been living in is smelling.

As for MOTIVE, do you know how HARD it is to be a successful entrepreneur in Yankee to decide to come back to Naija because you feel so much anger at the way your country people are living back home?!
Most Nigerians who make it out, stay out. But this man is bent on coming back home to correct your issues and free you from yourselves and this is still the ABSOLUTE SHIT some of you are saying.

If we the humans who want this are fools, then you are a FOOL even amongst goats.
In fact, this goat is smarter than you. It too, is tired of your beloved masters.

no to smart thief
As in...
Foolish Nigerians still arguing about which vomit tastes better instead of just voting for Sowore and start furthering their lives.
Sowore will rip loot structures apart and put things back in a sensible, forward-facing manner.

That's more than 250% the salary of the President of the US...

Imagine what each of the PDP fools loot then that they can afford to pay a mere lobbyist to further their goals that much.

Name those tribes .
Need we?

They know themselves, and specialize in lying to themselves about this topic instead of owning up to their money-grubbling ways.

As a Nigerian woman planning on marrying a guy, you should expect some kind of test.
Seeing as you are nowhere to be found when your family TESTS him with his ability to pay your brideprice and quantum list.

It is only you that should not be tested.
Because you are god.
