ogtavia:
Frank Gehry said 'i dont know why people hire Architects and then tell them what to do'.
And dude is right..my grouse with this sort of comment or 'bias' is that people who make such comment have little exposure, you just randomly pick a subject and assume you are right.

I wont go into too much detail, but i can speak for myself and a few others, that Nigerian Architects are not in anyway lazy. It only seems so because we find ourselves in a rigid system that only picks at innovations like a pelican i.e. everyone is comfortable with the status quo. Besides our economy is not so robust to manage certain extremities / construction adventure.

Now to your question, those houses you posted there are modern architecture designs and contrary to your belief, not everyone in your idea of the western world live in houses like that. Houses like that are high end and elitist so to say.

Its just like saying you dont see Ferraris, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, maseratis , Porsches and similar cars because our car dealers are lazy and refuse to learn new ideas or improve their trade, i mean assertions like that are borderline devoid of sound reasoning.

However, if you feel you can fund such projects with its attendant technicalities, specialist requirements and the need to source for scarce materials, there are a few Nigerian Architects who can change your opinions about them.

BTW, some of those houses you feel are 'basic' have estimates that will scare the taste out of your caviar buds.
Good response. Now we're talking.

A basic house with a huge estimate is still a basic house.
As I mentioned, great architecture is not about size.

As to the comment on exposure: I'm not based in Naija smiley
I'm not so silly as to believe that "everyone in the western world live in houses like that", but we DO agree that elitists in the western world do. So does Naija not have its own elitists?

Perhaps we just need more young money in Naija as it is mostly the old (and the backward political elite that feel it is perfectly okay to govern a country without 24 hr electricity) that seem to have money right now.

I look forward to a time when naija can show up and represent in some of these global architectural expos!

In the mean time, to claim creativity, a group of architects need to even be able to conceptualize what they cannot build right now due to financial restraints. All the concepts I have seen from nigerian architects still seem rather basic.

Have our architects lost the ability to dream because of present situation?

You even took out time to respond to such post. I think the best thing, he should just get the services of an Architect/Engineer and let him be billed for whatever nature of structure he wants.
There are lots of funny characters in NL and I keep wondering how did this come to be.
Stop being so melodramatic.
The post and it's title is meant to challenge architects in Nigeria.
As you can see, the title is phrased as a question.

I expect voluminous exchange of inspiration to up the architectural appeal of new nigerian buildings....not weakly succumbing to defeat... implying that current Nigerian home architecture needs no improvement.

Everytime I hear someone wants to build a house in Nigeria, I just know it's going to be something basic looking.
E.g I don't care how large this house is, I really still think it is basic.

https://images.nigeriapropertycentre.com/properties/images/157451/759049_157451-luxury-9-bedroom-duplex-with-great-facilities-and-elevator-detached-duplexes-for-sale--maitama-district-abuja-.jpg

I would really like to start seeing houses like the ones attached below in Naija.

It doesn't have to be so large, just "Different", interesting futuristic architecture.

Having said this, I would like architects in the house to estimate how much it would take to build any of the below.
BTW these are actual houses, not just concepts.

Ladies take this advise seriously

1. DONT ever ask a guy out

2. Don't ever tell a guy you love/like him.

Asking a guy out never ends well
So what will now happen if the girl asks him out? undecided
Whatever experience you had is no different from the experience a guy has if he asks a girl out and she insults him, or she proceeds to use him.
Telling someone you gbadun them is a risk and gender has nothing to do with it.

Why should it only be guys that should benefit from the effects of experiencing rejection? It builds character. cheesy

I experienced this same condition for many years too. And i have come to discover that its quite common in males. I tried changing, soaps, creams, towels, bathing hot water and even puritin but no permanent solution came until I STOPPED SPONGING all together. till date i only have itchy skin after bath when i sponge. I hope this helps
A Sponge opens up your pores, so whatever irritant is in the hard-water can easily get in your skin and irritate it.

This is common with hard/untreated water.
Make the water soft by boiling or treating it and it shouldn't be a problem.
Health › Re: Itching After Bathing - I Need Help... by 2buffagain(m): 5:20pm On Aug 12, 2017
Are you bathing with well water? i.e hard water?

This used to happen to me in hostel way back then.
Try boiling the water before bathing with it.

Romance › Re: When a lady has a flat feet. by 2buffagain(m): 7:24am On Aug 10, 2017
Flat feet basically limits athletic capabilities.
Running speed is reduced because there is no "bounce".
It also means the person is prone to injury while doing certain activities like running, quick leg manuevers, etc.

So naturally, someone with that condition is not right for army setting.

As for the superstition, there are too many push people in naij.
Also, primitive minds....the likes that take women as property to be sold in the name of tradition marriage...may see things like that as an imperfection on the bride and start attributing all manner of nonsense to the poor girl.

But when you finally get the drug u see the name Na!! So what would stop you from buying it on your own another time? Please think before you reply.
Depends on where you are and what the drug is.
Some drugs can only be bought with a doctor's prescription.

Placing the order with shorthand reduces the chances of successfully acquiring said drugs.

donproject:
don't know why you said it is a joke though. It isn't my bro...
You're like 28 years old.
What are you doing dating a teenager bruv?

At that age in fact, 21-22 is a risk.
If you are looking for serious relationship, the closer a woman is to 25 the better, or you are just wasting your time.

I don't blame the child, I blame you.
You're trying to get serious relationship out of someone who's brain has not even finish developing. Why will you not witness childish behavior?
At that age, a female child is still trying to sample ALL the dicks in a given vicinity.
The female child at that age has no understanding of what a "good man" is. She is largely moved by "popularity", "swag", rebellion and all these other things small girls obsess over.

If at all old man like you involve, it is strictly for selfish reasons as far as both parties are concerned (money for yansh) and not anything serious.

She does not know who she is yet, and that's not her fault.

If I were you, I'd call her (or text, whichever one her generation understands) and break off the charade relationship.
Then scout around for a nice professional girl in her mid twenties and up or one who is just about wrapping up Uni/NYSC.

You will be happy you did. Life is fluid, you might not see another life without her because our brains hate change, but I promise you thousands of better life-possibilities without her exist and are calling for you. You don't have to wait until you find someone else to break it.

Abeg is it possible for men to have Virgina&breast that good business..
What do u thinkhuh
Sure, a lot of trannies (guys) see their body modifications as INVESTMENTS.
They can get these things and there are folks who would pay them much more than the average cis-gendered female slut because a tranny would be seen as "an exotic experience" by rich sexual deviants.

There are even some women who like/crave trannies, so you don't have to actually be gay (though more often than not, you would have to).

All that being said, As to why a grown ass man would decide to do that to himself and complicate his life is really fawking beyond me.

I have flaws I am not perfect. But those "slay queens" won't get a job with me and if they had one it won't be for long if all they do is sit and look pretty. Who needs that liability? I don't play at work. It's serious business and there is no time to sit still and and look pretty. Or look pretty and do your job then all is well with me.
Honestly, the only person to blame/be taught is the boy.
HE needs to be taught to value his resources the way slay queens value their "affections".

If slay queens keep attempting to slay wallets yet no man gives into their foolishness, they will eventually get with the program and find themselves a job.
As long as there are foolish buyers, there will always be sellers. Such is the law of supply and demand.

I think we live in a time where the self-esteem of our young men are under heavy attack.
The key to fixing most of a person's life issues is by fixing that person's self-esteem.
When it comes to the fixing our young men's self-esteem, it is the women in his life that can help him the most.

Women have no idea what their words do to men. Your words penetrate us because we have no natural defense against a woman's words (I could care less what some other man thinks). Women's words either build us up, or break us into a million pieces, even if he doesn't show it.
The way to help men is by giving the young men in your lives more verbal validation. More verbal praise. More verbal upliftment that he is a fine, solid man who deserves more in life than being an ATM to empty headed, crotch-bleeding imbeciles.

Women are not the only ones who need verbal appreciation and upliftment to increase in self-respect. We are all souls and made of the same gooey stuff inside. smiley

....all that being said...the way some slay queens look.....konji na bastard grin

there's nothing about my post tht says I don't hv manners. infact it shows how wicked Nigerian Igbo men are...they are evil an use people to get to were they want, they wud even kill you for them to eat...and their Igbo girls wud accept any money they get from them, dsnt even matter where or how they got it, now that to me is stupid an immoral. Yet yall still jump up n down in church praising God...bt the minute u leave church you go straight to perfom witchcraft an rituals...Tsek...geraaaa here!

Infact if I can tell you, Igbo people are loud an ill mannered as opposed to Yorubas. Yorubas are more humble, have manners and understand the term humanity. As for your tribe, I don't knw in what Hell you ppl were created, coz it seems even the original hell is better than were yall originate from. angry
LOL see even foreigners know how igbo dem dey do tinz.
Most people who want to live a clear and happy life avoid marrying igbo girls...unless you find an extremely rare one that is pragmatic and thinks and doesn't do things because "It is tradition that is how we've always done it".
Either she will drain your bank or her family will. She will always side with her family and if she had her way, none of your family members would enjoy your wealth (just hers).

Life isn't just about money, but you'll never hear an igbo person agree with that.
They obsess over it and see every happenstance as an opportunity to shamelessly extract it from others.
Only in igbo-land will you see that a man has to pay one big money to marry his wife and pay another big money to "marry her bones" (or whatever the fvck they call it) when burying her.

They give zero fvcks
