Christianity EtcRe: Atheists Based In Nigeria by 2good(m): 10:17am On Jan 22, 2011
I'm also an agnostic and believe that religion is a sham and have brought more bad than good in the history of man. I just cant believe how human being with functional brains like mine will not just give themselves some seconds to reason all the biblical stories they've been fed from birth and do some research as to the origin of all these stories to actually understand where the current bible originated from.
How can you believe things you have not been proved, and also feel that if you pray to some god, you will get a miracle? When ever I get into discussion with my Nigerian friends home and abroad about religion, the next question they ask me is whether I am a white man to believe there's no god like the white man is different from the blackman in anyway.
Imagine people trying to justify pastors Chris Oyakhilome reason for collecting gate fee to enter the church because they've been deluded. Also Bishop David Oyedepo collecting money from the poor to set up a university where the poor members of his congregation cannot afford to send their children to and thesame christians will still look for excuse to justify his actions. Its a pity that we find ourself in this situation and I keep on asking myself if I can really go back to that country where people are not ready to plan because they believe that everything is in the hands of some imaginary god that they cannot prove.
I officially stop going to shurch 14yrs ago and people said it was a phase in my life and that I'll revert back but I am growing stronger in my unbelief and keep on wondering why people just cant reason like me in Africa.
Christianity EtcRe: My Boyfriend Is An Atheist. I Love Him But My Family And Friends Hate Him. Help by 2good(m): 10:30pm On Jan 19, 2011
Its a pity that the black race and Nigerians especially have been deluded by religion that they forget about morals and other positive attributes of people. I happen to be in a multinational group where out of about 20 people, you can identify atleast 5 different religious groups and they all live in peace because people dont give priority to religion in relating with others in their daily activities. Infact of my 2 best friends, one is an Atheist and the other is Hindu.
The origin of religion can be traced back so it baffles me that people dont read history outside the bible, quaran, etc and believe their god is the all and all about existence where as it all farce. How do U know without opening your mind and reading wide?
The black man never progresses because they believe that without god, they cannot achieve and refuse to plan. But the white man that doesnt believe in god, put all the right things in place because he knows that his tomorrow depends on how well he plans and not the love of god in his life.
FamilyRe: Tell My Parents I Don’t Believe In God? by 2good(m): 9:23pm On Jan 18, 2011
I stopped believing in religion and the whole god thing 15yrs ago when I was only 16yrs and had alot of issues with parent and family just because of my belief that my parent even threaten to kick me out his house just because I stopped going to church. People said I was still young and would soon change as I grow older then but they forgot I was once religious and tried making sense from what is in the bible and what I'm thought in the church from an objective point of view, but discovered they were all farce and just didnt click in anyway.
Left for me, I think religion is the biggest fraud and deceit in the existence of mankind and the europeans that brought religion to us in Africa, doesnt believe in all the bible story any more and practically 80-90% of them dont believe in god or even go to church.
We are very backward in Africa because we all waiting for god to come down from heaven and do something spirirual in our life to succeed because religion have locked our mind.
Timmy2409, I'll say you are on the best track at making something good out of your life because non believers have a more realistic approach towards life and are more likely to succeed in anything they do because they prepare properly and dont hope on divine intervention. And mind you, any body can die so dont let the threat of god taking your life to affect you in any way cos its all bulshit and doesnt ever work. Even the so call men of god dies so what the big deal about death.
The whole god theory revolves round either head or tail, god wins in the sense that if you sleep and wake up the next day, they will say god loves you that is why he gave you another day. But if a loved one doesnt wake up, they'll say god knows the best not that god doesnt love him/her. So there is always an explaination to give and delude people's mind as most Africans dont want to reason with their brain from an objective point of view and make realistic decision.
So just be who you are and live your life the way that suits you best provided you do good to your fellow man and you dont allow you actions to affect others negatively and also obey the laws of the land you find yourself.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do People In Nl Love To Critisize Pastor Chris Onyhakilome by 2good(m): 9:46am On Jan 15, 2011
When will my fellow country men start using their brain to think and know that no pastor, man of god or any god for that matter can solve their problem.
Europe is a perfect example. The practically believe in no god and all you africans rush down there.
I once attended a church in Europe which is usually an all black affair most time after being invited by a friend and was surprised that all the testimony I was hearing revolves round how god helped them and their house hold to acquire visa to come to europe or get an european passport.
Dont U think we must be really backward in our thinking and its high time we stamp out all these dubious so call men of god who play on the black mans gullibility by selling to him what he want to hear and in the process, supressing his thinking ability by making him believe he can only achieve something for himself in his life if god intervene and he foolishly put all his savings in a coffer belonging to the paster in the name of sowing seed.
I'm just sick and tired of being the only one trying to be realistic in approach to problem solving because everyone is still hoping on god that will never answer their prayers.
I think religion is the biggest fraud that ever plagued mankind because it supresses their reasoning just like the catholic church imprisoned Galileo till his death simply because the church believed his Corpenican theory of the sun stationary with the earth revolving round it is unblical. How daft where they to have have reason from a dogmatic point of view back then but the good thing is that most of the europeans have outgrown such believes but the black man is getting more infected with the religious virus.

Can somebody be this daft to ask a question this silly like the poster has done. When does size start being a function of your tribe? Many Africans just dont want to use their brain to reason cos it baffles me how someone will come up with a thread like this. Na wa ooooooo. Mind you, atleast 80% of those 25% percent did runs in there exam to get be in the 25% pass range.
I just pity the kind of future leaders we are going to have.
When I wrote my WAEC just 13yrs ago, I knew what I went through to get my grades but its just so sad that every students and their parents are arranging for one sort of runs or the other for probably one of the easiest exam they will ever write in their whole life because you have a whole 3 years to prepare for the exam.
RomanceRe: Can U Cook 4 Ur Wife? by 2good(m): 1:12pm On Jan 06, 2011
Definitely. Your wife is human being like you and deserves to rest when she's tired. Besides marriage is a partnership game where both partner should be ready to switch roles incase of emergency
FamilyRe: My Wife Is Not Romantic. What Should I Do? by 2good(m): 9:37am On Jan 06, 2011
I'm suprised at the kind of blame game the ladies are playing here on the OP. If thesame man neglect the wife and go out to get his sexual satisfaction, its thesame ladies that would come here to crucifying him. You guys should get your priorities right and think before typing on your keyboard because it seems most of you dont reason deep about the problem before giving your response.
I believe so much on a one man one woman system and so both partner have to put everything in place within their utmost power to make it work otherwise the other will go out to get what he/she wants else where. There is nothing as bad as a married man having feelings for another girl outside because she treats him better than his wife. That might result in the end of his marriage.
Sex is very important to a man beyond the level that a woman can comprehend and dont ask me why because i am not God that made both sexes to have different libido level but its just the fact that no body can dispute and if a man dont get it from his wife, chances are high he'll go out to satisfy himself because there are so many girls out there looking for the slightest opportunity to be a Mrs.
So women should please think before they act bacause every action have a consequence, positive or negative.

Hi guys, Nice to know that there's a lovely forum like this one. I actually have 2yrs experience as a Wellsite Drilling Engineer working on 2 jackup rigs offshore Calabar in Nigeria, before pulling out to study for my masters in Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands and the experience have been awesome so far. I intend coming back to Nigeria to work after graduation and hope the Nigerian job market would have picked up properly as at when i'm graduating in 2012.
PoliticsRe: Abuja Bomb:98% Of Nigerian Do Not Benefit Anything From Been Nigerian by 2good(m): 9:03am On Jan 02, 2011
You can put whatever nice picture you want to place on the internet about Nigeria, but it doesnt change the obvious that we dont have any form of social security from the government. You need to have money and buy your own security for yourself after paying tax to the Nigerian government.
If you live in Europe and America you'll see that there is obviously a massive difference between the quality of life in Nigeria and those places.
Nigeria is a place where money is distributed among very few people while the masses suffers because the system is sick. It will be unfair and selfish of me to come out to the public and be saying that things are very ok in Nigeria just because I have things going well for me.
We have to identify all these lapses in the system to be able to build the nation and make it a better place. The wealth have to be distributed evenly if we want to have a Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Primate Ayodele's 2011 Predictions by 2good(m): 2:48pm On Jan 01, 2011
Alot of religious Nigerians are so dumb, believing what is obvious to be a prophecy and attaching spirituality to coincidence.
The sooner you guys start reasoning from an objective and realistic point of view, the better for this country.

How many of you guys in europe earn up to 3000 pounds after tax before you will be expecting to earn 2million naira per month in Nigeria or you dont know what the exchange rate is. Nigerians abroad are really funny set of people. They are seriously suffering here and yet behave like they are better than people in Nigeria. If you want to earn 2million, remain in the UK cos you aint going to see a company to pay you that unless you have substantial experience.
The level of second class treatment you guys experience in europe, is enough reason to go back to your country and develop it?

Only time I cried in the last 15 years was when I saw the coffin of my dad being interred. Did not even cry when I saw the body before the burrial.
Concerning women issue, I cannot cry no matter what because my heart became kind of hardened after many bad experiences with girls while growing up. Seems like I have an emotional shock absorber that makes feel nothing when a girl walks out of my life.

@Carolece,
You talk like a very childish and inexperienced person.
We all had one or two problems with our parent while growing up but that does not mean you'll come out publicly and be insulting them. The way you talk shows you have issues yourself and probably would find yourself having problem being worthy of a man.
Take it easy life is easier than you think.

Very funny.
When a man is not possessive, he doesnt love you.
When he's possessive, he's insecured.
What do you all want from your men? You want someone that will not care about how you live your life? How would you women feel when you see your man constantly exchanging pleasantries with other women?
Food for thought,

@ strangerf,
Your mentality of someone having to pay for the upkeep of preety girls is bad. Thats one difference between how Nigerian women and western women reason and its really bad. When you walk up to a Nigerian girl, she transfers all her father's responsibilities to you like you are her new father.
Cant you guys just learn to have some level of financial independence? You guys want to be treated as equals with men but your reasoning is still centuries behind.
Sorry if I used some harsh words but its the truth. Try and build a career
EducationRe: Preparing for GRE by 2good(m): 8:47pm On Dec 16, 2010
Your ability to get funding depends strongly on the strength of your credentials. I cant really comment on your chances but usually they give reasonable level of funding to atleast one Nigerian on a yearly basis.
EducationRe: Preparing for GRE by 2good(m): 6:51pm On Dec 16, 2010
@ cezeozue
First you must know that ranking does not reflect how competitive a university trully is. The Ivy League and those highly ranked University(including Darthmouth and Brown that appears not to be so highly ranked) are far more difficult to get in because they admit very few people and people just want to go there because they are Ivy League and they have very strong Alumni network.
Dont ever think of doing a masters in Nigeria with the hope of coming here for a PhD because the educational system is just uncomparable and you'll make your PhD education more difficult for yourself. Here you must be very very sound in programming and the level of research is just something you cant imagine at all if you are in Nigeria and you get so much exposure and opportunities if you study in the west. The Nigerian standard is nothing compared to what you'll see here and you'll most likely have problem in some areas especially programming which you need for a research work. So the masters period will reduce most of those deficiencies as you try to stabilze yourself before you start the real research work.
@ All Admitted to TUDFelft,
Congract on your admission as TUDelft definitely is one of the best technology university in the world but what I want to let you know is that the applied earth science programme is so intensive that you need to be far above average to be able to cope and also go and start learning matlab no matter the course you want to do because you can't escape it. There are several scholarships available here but the number of admit is generally few like we are abt 14 in my class from like 9 different countries with myself being the only black.
Once your finance is guaranteed, TUDelft applies for your visa from the Netherlands and you just go to the embassy to pick it up when its ready, so visa is the least problem. Just try and get the funding sorted out.
EducationRe: Preparing for GRE by 2good(m): 4:24pm On Dec 16, 2010
@ cezeozue ,
Dont waste your credentials on just the big schools but also try to apply to some of the good medium schools. the website www.usnews.com can be of help. Sometimes, all your qualifications is just not enough to get an admit into the likes of MIT, Stanford, Princeton, etc because you dont know what they look out for. And about going to Unilag, dont also waste your credentials because I had my first degree in Chemical Engineering there and I dont see why one would prefer a Unilag to say Purdue University or University of Texas Austin, because they are not in the highest leagues of Universities in the US but way better than all the Universities in Africa
RomanceRe: Can A Guy Love Again After Being Hurt 4 A Second Time? by 2good(m): 9:19am On Nov 28, 2010
This is the reason why most guys appears to be hardened when it comes to loving a woman. Most times when guys are younger, they put everything into a relationship and girls take them for granted and treat them anyhow until they eventually dump this guys. The guy grows up with the mentality that women are bad.
When he start growing older and getting so much attention from women, he find it difficult to go back to his initial young loving state because his mind is already fixed on what he thinks women are and the women label him a "BAD MAN" without thinking of what they've done to other guys when they were younger.
Its a viscious cycle of life and will continue to happen that way because no body seems to learn from the older people's experience.
RomanceRe: What Men Really Want In Modern Relationships by 2good(m): 5:44pm On Nov 26, 2010
Men dont need relationship from a woman for sex because they can get sex from any other woman out there, instead its just one of the packages that comes with being in a relationship. Infact men that want a woman because of sex, does not want her on a long run but just for sexual satisfaction on the short run, after which he changes her when he's tired.
So for a man to agree to go into a marriage bound relationship with a woman, she has to have more than the physical and sexual gadget other women have and its not in anyway defined because different men have different preference, but certainly not sex.
For me,
1. Top on my list is respect for me. The more a woman respect me, the more I feel like being a slave to her because I dont want to do anything to hurt her but most women dont understand that.
2. Some level of financial dependence. I dont want an absolute liability.
3. Naturality to a reasonable extent and we should be able to open up like common friends.
4. Understand that I can be busy sometimes with work and manage the situation with me rather than quarelling with me all the time for not giving you so much attention, when most times the relationship is severed when the job stops as money also stops.
5. Least on my list is RELIGION and I spell it out from the start that you should not bore my with your religious believe.
RomanceRe: Lolz! Market Girl Is In Love With Me by 2good(m): 9:58pm On Nov 16, 2010
My story:
Came from a struggling home but was very serious academically. Would go and sell in my mothers shop where she sell food stuff like garri, beans, palm oil etc. She also have a grinding machine which we use in grinding beans and pepper for customers.
Eventually I got admission into Unilag and couldnt even pay my first fee which as at 1999 was barely 3,000 naira. It was uncles that assisted me in paying that money. While I was in my early years in unilag, I was still going to my mothers shop to sell and grind pepper as explained above together with my sisters.
I eventually got some scholarship that elevated my life in Unilag abit, graduated and landed 3 bank jobs almost at thesame time. I left the bank after one year and join an Oil company where I was earning about 500,000 naira per month.
I'm currently in europe studying for my masters on full scholarship.
Summary
If you had seen me very dirty grinding pepper and selling garri 10years ago, you will not believe I'll get to where I am today so please dont look down on anybody because of their current predicament because alot of us find ourself in families where we struggle to survive from the start and its not our fault. It doesnt mean that we'll remain like that forever.
I also have friends with thesame story as mine so please treat every human being with respect cos you dont know what tomorrow holds for you.
Peace.
