netmillionaires: I just had the time to go through your comment few minutes ago and I realize that you have problem with your eyes. If you read my first post you should see where I said it is wrong to beat the journalist and the naval rating should be punished. I also state in one of the posts that what I would have done is to call the police but the anger in your heart won't make you to see that.
I will repeat it once again. You have problem with rich men (or big men as you want to call it) in Nigeria. They aren't responsible for your problems.
It is always easy to criticize those who are richer and well connected than you are ( quoted). I was like you before and now I know better. Come back when you get to that stage where you have hundreds of millions or billions in your account then we can talk. Do you even know about big people area like Malibu in USA? You can go there and park on the road in front of someone residence.
Go and park on the road in front of Mark residence and see what happens. Your car break down. Fine! It is enough excuse. You park there to quickly do something. Fine! But just loitering there doing nothing. Hmmmm you will have to explain what you meant by your LAWFUL/Designated activity to the police.
You even went to bring up random image online to buttress your point albeit blindly. Do you know about the neighborhood? Do you know the owners of the cars? Do you know the circumstances that culminate in....? I challenge you to bring up pictures of you in a neighborhood abroad with cars parked like that and I will send you videos of me in different neighborhood in four different countries and explain why things aren't this way but that way.
People get ticketed abroad for parking cars by the side of the road. And I sure that if Nigeria had been the first country to start such, you would have come up with NIGERIA BIG ZOO MEN blah blah again.
I gave you examples of middle class residential area and you are still here talking about rich/big men worship blah blah. Here is Nigeria and everywhere else while you have the right to movement another person has the right to privacy and security which override yours. All rights aren't equal. When you park on a street for hours people can call the police and police will question your presence in the area. You will need a good excuse before you are allowed to stay else you will be ask to move the car. Nope dude, the essential difference between us is NOT that I like to criticize rich/"big" men (for the avoidance of any doubt, I have NO qualms with doing so - whenever warranted), but that folks like you WORSHIP rich/"big" men and will NEVER EVER criticize them due to a shallow and misguided value system that automatically equates wealth with good. Furthermore, we will NEVER EVER be on the same plain (and I have zero interest in sharing how much I may or not have in the bank or in assets, because frankly that line of discourse merely betrays your poor grasp of the substantive issues under discourse) for the essential reason that I believe in the EQUALITY of all persons in the eyes of the law! In effect, there is not (and should never be) one set of laws for the rich and another for the poor in the SAME society! Meanwhile, on the substantive matter under discourse (and how I wish you would stick to the SUBSTANCE of the matter), the reason that cars are ticketed abroad is either because such cars are parked in a No Parking zone, a Handicapped spot (if their drivers are not handicapped) or parked at a meter that has expired (if they are parked by a parking meter). Cars have NEVER EVER been ticketed, towed or the driver beaten up in any remotely CIVILIZED society (whether in the West or even in Africa) for parking OUTSIDE somebody's property. Only in a ZOO, where some animals are deemed more equal than others, do such savage behavior ever occur. Supposedly "educated" people should know better. > |

Crime › Re: Soldier Assaults A Girl Wearing “Camo” In Ogun (Photos) by 9jaRealist: 9:42am On Aug 10, 2019 |
GeoAfrikana: Firstly, in Nigeria wearing camo is constitutionally illegal. People need to assimilate that. Anyone who has a problem with that should channel his grievances to the right place.
Secondly, there's nothing wrong in military moving around town. The only thing is that they shouldn't go with their guns so as not to intimidate civilians. And to be frank, those soldiers don't cross your lane na, they just bounce gallantly in their camo and their women catwalk in their camo. I personally have a distaste for the swagz of female soldiers. It is lousy civilians that always go and cross their lane.
And one thing about soldiers is that they always try to avoid fighting unjustly because it can bring serious punishment for them in the barracks. It's just that you people won't be informed that they're being punished. So soldiers don't look for trouble.
And even when someone offends them, immediately you show remorse and apologize they leave. But no, bigger will always want to show ego. Lawyer will start saying jargons, teacher will be saying grammar and fineboy will be forming swagger instead of apologizing after doing the wrong thing.
In my opinion, soldiers are the best people you can deal with. They're straightforward and not dubious and hypocritic like some police officers. Only crazy people have Problems with them. There’s NO such illegality in the Nigerian Constitution... Otherwise, feel free to cite the section where it is listed. > |
Crime › Re: Soldier Assaults A Girl Wearing “Camo” In Ogun (Photos) by 9jaRealist: 9:32am On Aug 10, 2019 |
alphaNomega: It is in our constitution that civilians should not use military fatigue, and anything in likeness of it except for
1. entertainment (that is why your wizkid only wears in on stage and actors wear it during movies) and;
2. Political events, exclusive to certain political office holders e.g. heads of state (that is why GEJ could be seen wearing military uniform on some occasions even though he was never a soldier)
That being said, what that lady wore is not exactly our military uniform but a likeness of it. The soldier is within his constitutional right here. First, so that pink and black blouse looks like “military fatigue (sic)” to you? And then can you please cite the section of the Constitution that prohibits it? Thanks. Meanwhile, even if it were military fatigues or she broke any laws... Who made the soldier judge, jury and executioner? Isn’t that the job of the courts? netmillionaires: Let me tell you something about your lots. When people beat you pants down in your own game, you resort to looking for little typo error. Who doesn't know the difference between KNOW and NO? What difference is there between NIGERIAN BIG MEN and NIGERIAN RICH MEN? Everyone who see the BIG in your statement knows what you implied.

netmillionaires: You see your life! Me worship big men? Where in my post did I worship big men? Do you even know me at all? You know nothing.
And please learn to think for yourself and allow others to think fort themselves.
I can now see that Nigerian big men is your problem. You need to change your mentality so that you can be rich too. That is all I will say before you will change everything to YOU HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING RICH MEN BECAUSE YOU ARE A RICH MAN.
I give up on your case. YOU ARE RIGHT. Can I breath now. You seem to be wrestling with the simple concept of “big men”... FYI, big men and rich men are not synonymous (doubt the retired rear-admiral is rich). Meanwhile, even though you have no clue as to my material status, it nonetheless further affirms your subjugated mentality that you think that being “rich too” is the most important value in life and something that everyone aspires (or should aspire) to. Such a shallow worldview. Anyway, it was YOU who introduced the likes of Dangote into the discourse because you seem to think that big (or rich) men have greater rights than other citizens. Wouldn’t be surprised if you are one of those who support the Nigerian Senator that assaulted a woman. SMH > |
