TimmyTen: Votes buying should be penalized, INEC must enforce electoral laws, and the house of representatives, must ensure the electoral acts, includes penalties for erring political party and politicians.
All the necessary laws are already on the books… In Nigeria, the issue has ever hardly been the existence of laws, but rather enforcement. >
MikoB: Shame! shame! shame! This is the desire of the corrupt people ruling nigeria, to subject their citizens to poverty so that when election comes, they can bribe them to sell their future with a cup of tea.
And yet, in so many other poorer countries, even poor people don’t sell their votes….hmmmm >
StopPipelines: We produce over 90 percent of all Nigeria's crude oil.
May God bless our Ijaw Republic hero General Ditari and the group he leads that have successfully brainwashed so many Ijaw that we are being bribed with our own money in the name of Amnesty and its time to stop all pipelines and go for Ijaw Republic.
I doubt that you actually “produce” 1% of the crude oil produced in Nigeria… If crude oil is being extracted and produced from your land, you’re owed rent and nothing else.
Unless you actually contribute the technology, capital or manpower to successfully explore, extract, produce, transport and successfully sell crude oil, you are NOT “producing” jack and should instead just concentrate on collecting rent - and that rent should just be for those who actually own land impacted by exploration and production, not some nebulous and amorphous so-called “Ijaw Republic”.
Unfortunately, we have cultivated a sick PARASITIC culture in Nigeria whereupon almost everyone is obsessed with SHARING, but few or none are concerned with actual PRODUCTION (or productivity). The THIEVES in Yenegoa or Uyo or PH or Asaba or Warri or even the so-called “Ijaw Republic” are NO DIFFERENT from the THIEVES in Abuja. If anything, they all belong to the same LOOTerians tribe. >
That girl does not know what damage she has done to her future.
If her name can be deduced and blacklisted,
she will never hold any public office in Nigeria..
Embassies would place Embargo on her..
The consequences are numerous...
But unfortunately, we live in a zoo where anything goes...
One Delegate was also displaying on social media, the new car he bought after returning from Presidential Primary.
He was saying "Delegate work sweet ooo"....
This country is in deep Shit...
While I personally share the dismay (even angst)…
In a FREE society, you should be FREE to do with your future as you please… Those of us who do not sell our votes to politicians, are our own future (or past) any better?!
Anyway, in Nigeria we love to chase shadows in derogation of substance… There are already laws on the books about election bribes, just bloody ENFORCE IT! SMH >
While hoping the masses will wise up to their own self-induced servitude, I am frankly personally ambivalent… Easier for us who can afford devices and data to pontificate, but that might turn out to be her only “dividend” of democracy. >
OChimex: Calm down i will be honest with you, Lagos island is coming up with nice gigantic buildings and all but, mehn our maintainance of these infrastructures in Nigeria is so poor. Ikoyi, VI, Banana island all these beautiful places are fast decaying. I visisted a year ago, now i was in banana island a couple of days, from there to ikoyi then VI and now Ikeja, mehn those once beautiful places i visited are fast decaying. Lagos govt needs to know that its not just building gigantic buildings but mainatainnace of these infrastructures is more important
As I previously noted, Lagos has relatively stronger public institutions than most in Nigeria and thus fares much better… LASIAMA maintains public assets in Lagos, and have been rehabilitating schools, hospitals, fire stations and public buildings.
For example, every school in Lagos now has a facility maintenance officer attached to it… Nonetheless, Nigerians should be building a MAINTENANCE ECONOMY, rather than just turning to government for everything.

Heck no, they’re most certainly NOT… Banana Island today is far BETTER than even just 5 years ago.
The one thing places like Banana Island aptly demonstrates is the efficacy of the private sector in a country with often poor public institutions (even though Lagos institutions often fares relatively better than most in Nigeria). Nonetheless, even Ikoyi is probably much better in terms of physical infrastructure presently it than ever was, albeit that its evolving character (from a largely residential-only enclave to a mixed-use district) places certain mismatched pressures thereupon. VI is different, so is Ikeja GRA (another district in evolution).
There are WORLD-CLASS property facility maintenance managers in Lagos (including leading multinationals such as Broll, James Cubitt, and CBRE), so building maintenance for big private developments is hardly an issue these days. >
EKO O NI BAJE Lagos leads, others struggle to follow.
Btw, while I was a big fan of Gov Ambode, stopping this development was one that he got wrong. It raised concerns about the reliability of the LASG as a commercial partner and respecter for the sanctity of commercial contracts, instead signaling that the LASG can arbitrarily decide to terminate commercial arrangements if it RETROSPECTIVELY decides it no longer liked the negotiated terms.
Furthermore, I actually think that the shopping mall project is a better project for this location than yet another luxury high rise development (in an area already chock full of luxury developments, many of which are half-empty). However, I suspect that with the substantial growth in online retail (and even streaming services), the bankability of a physical mall have likely changed considerably. >
StagethemTVee: A young Nigerian man by the name of Ahmed has been busted for defrauding his elderly host in America less than 6 months after arriving in the country and their house.
Ahmed was using the social security number of his benefactor (an elderly man) to set up accounts and request various bank cards which he used for online purchases.
He is seen in the video initially denying after which he knelt down to beg claiming he was sorry.
No idea why so many are against such unobtrusive religious symbols. Meanwhile, the people whose native religion Nigerians/Africans are “defending” or “protecting” allow hijabs and other such religious symbols in their schools! SMH >
Islandlady: Nairalanders I need y'all mature advice on this issue, No insults tho
I have been friends with my male friend for over 11years now, so he is more like a brother to me! He got married 3yrs ago, But we live in the same district, I do visit them once in a while! And I usually bump into his wife at market places, malls or on the street due to the fact that we live in the same district.
My friend is hardly around for the past few Weeks due to the fact that he do travel for work. . .But recently I have been seeing his wife with a Man just about the age of my friend, I have seen them together at the mall for 3 times now for a period interval of 3 weeks, I usually dodge and escape myself so they won't see me! The last time I saw them together I took a sneak pictures of them, I don't know this man, I have never seen him when I visit them, he is not a family member! I have been curious so I feel I should call the attention of my friend to this and send him the pictures too!
Should I tell him about it or what? I am confused!
Why are you hiding? If you see someone in public, say ‘hi’ and see her reaction (non-verbal cues can be telling).
Unfortunately, you are “dodging” your way to conclusions… Perhaps because you probably know what your pal is likely doing when he “travels for work”! >
princepee: SMH! This seems like audio killing! Can we see they pictures please! Or is it easier to show killed ESN and ipob members? Good news if it's true!
pharmagba: Printing names without photo? Are you this gullible? How did they know whom they killed? Did they have their finger print? Did they have their retina scan?
Abeg! Is not the same Nigerian security we are talking about?
Abegi try reading and understanding, before commenting… The list was by ISIS (presumably honoring their martyrs), not by “Nigerian security”. >
First, Wike is a bully and thug who has been using STATE funds to advance his PERSONAL political ambitions, and he would make a TERRIBLE candidate (and a DISASTROUS VP if Atiku wins). Further, a political party should NEVER foist (or otherwise force) a running-mate on a candidate. The candidate should be FREE to choose whomever he feels can best work with him (and whom would owe personal loyalty to him rather than to others who imposed him on the candidate), after due consultation of course. In fact, this is the first “presidential” decision of a candidate and thus he should be his, not the party’s decision to make. >
Joezinho: Adeyanju Deji getting dragged by his new found friends. A sight I love to see.
You deserve it, orangutan. For trying to stick your neck out for these narcissistic people. Screaming it's their turn to be president and insulting your own kinsmen. All Igbo activists and influencers are supporting their Obi but efulefus like Deji is acting like a cursed toad..
I have no polite words for hardened slaves who betray their kinsmen.. Carry on being 'gentle' by doing the equivalent of a black man inviting an unrepentant racist to his home for dinner.
You got served Deji. Deal with your new found friends, Ewu.
Didn’t Tinubu also scream that it’s his turn to be president?! So many Nigerians are so PRIMITIVE, they’re actually shocked if you don’t automatically support “your own kinsmen”. SMH >
