07kjb: The Nigerian youths brain have been bastardised, everybody is shouting go and learn a skill which they borrowed from our useless leaders.....has it occur to you guys that Nigeria has the highest self employed population in the world yet we are the poorverty capital in the world
Why won't government employ it's own quota, they don't create job, even in the USA today they are still creating millions of job even for immigrants
A government is a circle of public employment, private employment, indirect employment, unskilled then self employed you tax...... shouting there's no job up and down is a lie from the pit of hell.
Finally Africans are naturally dull you can't hold your leaders accountable is a shame
Note: I'm not discouraging not learning any skill, I'm just stating how it ought to be Guy you're funny, how did you come about your statistics? There are more self employed people in China and India than Nigeria. There are more poor people in India than Nigeria, they call Nigeria poverty capital of the world not because of quantity but because of the amount of resources Nigeria has compared to its relative lack of development. Yes our government is useless but no dey bring false stats to make your point valid. Those saying acquire skills are saying so because there is no hope in the government, the wise acquire skills to hedge against unemployment or under employment. Those with a functioning brain know it is not the job of the government to create jobs rather they make the environment ripe and healthy for private and public sectors to work together towards growth which automatically creates jobs. IF GOVERNMENT NO READY TO DO ITS PART, YOU WAN FORCE DEM? Even if you get balls, how you wan convince the traders, the herders, the ones not on social media to vote the right government in? You stated how it ought to be but reality no dey work like that, everybody got to do what's best for him or her! |

wirinet: As they say in law, you are rebrobating and approbating at the same time. You cannot wear a Nazi or a KKK insignia which offends some people, but you can wear an hijab or dreadlocks which offends others? How are you able to make sense of that.
You cannot be arrested or prosecuted for wearing a Nazi or KKK insignia on your shirt in the US. Lots of people find it offensive, but it is not against constitutional rights and freedom. Please don't say what you don't know, I am not only talking about criminal liabilities but civil as well. You can be sued for anything in the civil court in the USA. Furthermore we are talking about the right to deny service as a business, the courts have ruled that the contarct of carriage enforced by these airlines are valid as long as they can defend it. In the court of law, wearing KKK or NAZI attire in an airport or when boarding a plane is not only seen as disturbing the peace but a valid reason to deny service as it is offensive to majority of customers and could result in substantial loss of revenue for the business. U.S laws are very complicated, you have to do your research and look at past cases to grasp the entire picture. |

Sunmoluvic: Lol, the first question to ask yourself is why was he dragged off the plane, after reading the whole thing, it was obviously for no reason, you can't even compare that with this one. The airline offered $1k to anyone who could give up there seat for something, no one did, so they decided to pick someone themself which they picked the guy, but the guy refused, so they dragged him out, therefore injuring him. This is a different situation bro.
This is what the law says: The First Amendment grants you the right to freedom of speech and expression. So you are generally free to say or wear what you want, regardless of how crass or offensive.
However, while the First Amendment is applicable in the public sphere, it has no application in the private sphere. Actually you've interpreted the First Amendment incorrectly, you cannot wear a NAZI or KKK attire and they let it slide, however being denied service you paid for based on Hijab, based on your dreadlocks, based on leggings etc is definitely an infringement that can be argued in court. You will find that what we normal people think is reasonable differs from how lawyers and the court interprete things. Remember in law, it is not about what is right or wrong but what can be proven or who can sway the judge or jury the most. Finally, also remmeber as a company worth billions, most of the time they settle out of court if there's any possibility of reputational and/or financial liability. |

anonimi: You should have provided the link for the UA case. How much do you plan to contribute to the fees of the popular lawyer? I don't have time but I'm sure many can search it online, there are more than one instances of denial of service from SouthWest Arilines to American Airlines and I'm not just talking about clothing, it can be anything from being dragged off the plane excessively, denial of service based on weight, looks etc. Furthermore your point of lawyer fee is irrelevant because if it is a winnable case, most lawyers in the USA collect zero fees and will get compensation from the settlement. |

1stGenAmerican: If you knew and understood the First Amendment then you would realize how false your statement is. Okay why don't you educate me about it? You mean an airline/business can deny you service you paid for just because they do not like the shirt or pants you're wearing? How does this differ from not liking your hairstyle or looks? The only rights not protected are those that constitute hate crime or criminal in nature. Either way there's no point in arguing here, sentiments are cheap, when it gets to court it's another ball game. |
Travel › Re: DJ Soda Kicked Out Of U.S Airplane For Wearing "Offensive" Pants (Photos) by abbey621(m): 1:19am On Apr 30, 2022 |
Sunmoluvic: Lol, why. She'll loose, Airlines Can Kick Passengers Off The Flight For Dress Code, Airlines can make whatever rules they would like as to the type of clothing that you must wear if you want a seat on one of their flights. They are not bound by the same rules as a governmental agency, thesame way a social media can ban you when you go against their terms and conditions
F. Words on your clothing is a no no for many private airline B.S.......She's going to get paid if she gets a popular lawyer. Fristly the freedom of speech is protected and this includes dressing. The airline would have to prove that her dressing was so outrageous that it constituted discomfort for passengers. A similar case occured with United Airlines about 5 years back and they settled out of court. |

socialmediaman: These grandparents and family are also living their everyday lives like everyone else, I believe they didn't ask her to break the law and brutalize another person's child whom she employed. All they have to do now is adjust their lives to accommodate the consequences of her poor choices, so I don't see why it's their fault in this situation, or are you saying if they abandoned her, it justifies her action?
I know it's wishful thinking for now but that doesn't mean I should support the injustice. What we need is for more people like you to also condemn it so that it can get better with time. If I convince you to condemn it and you convince someone else then maybe someday in 50 years time everybody will be condemning it and the authorities will have no choice but to act differently
But what about the girl who's carrying the scars on her body? Does her life not matter? Will she ever believe in the system? Will she ever have mercy on someone else when she becomes a mother someday, knowing the system will also protect her if she harms another woman's child? What about the other politician who wants to steal money and knows that when he goes to trial, the system will consider his family's welfare over that of the poor children in his community who were supposed to benefit from the money he stole? What about the families that died in auto crash from the bad road which he didn't repair? You're still missing the point, punishment rather than rehabliation helps nobody in a country like Nigeria. It was you that mentioned that the kids could be given to grandparents, family or neighbors so I asked you if you believe those people who stood by and watched her struggle to feed her kids would willingly take care of her children if she died or was incarcerated, it is a simple question. Nobody is saying the kids life does not matter, all I'm saying is that we will continue to see more and more of this level of frustrations and over reactions if the governemnt does not step up and improve the economic and social well being of the citizens. All the other stuff you mentioned further solidifies my point. |

socialmediaman: I get your point, and you’re right about the reality of present day Nigeria, but it doesn’t stop us from pushing for reforms. Rome wasn’t built in a day and would’ve never been built if everyone assumed centuries ago that it could never be built.
Kids can be taken care of by their grandparents or foster, or adopted parents or relatives. It’s not perfect and will never be the same as their biological parents, but it’s designed as a remedy for a bad situation like this
Remember, the system owes an obligation to both the girl who was brutalized, and the children of the woman who brutalized the girl. None of these parties are more important than the other in the eyes of the system, that’s what equal justice means (that’s why you see justice portrayed as the lady with a blindfold holding a balance)
Once you start considering the well being of the children over the rights and well-being of the child who was brutalized, you’re already giving way for corruption to enter the system where elites can do whatever they want and be protected Tell me why would grandparents, family and neighbors watch a woman struggle to feed her kids and do nothing but would gladly accept resposnibility for that child when the woman dies or is incarcerated? You can't reform a system in which you have no rights, who is going to do the reform? Your vote hardly counts, your voice means nothing hence reliability on the government is nothing but wishful thinking. I can support therapy and counseling but not at the expense of the woman. What the woman needs is help, mental and physical. We need to move away from a society of punishment first, rehabilitation later/never. |

Forget about actors, it is very hard for any man surrounded by beautiful women giving him attention and signals to resist. 10-20 years ago, men had to spend money to cheat, nowadays that other gender go spend money on you just for fun, you'll tell them you have a wife and they'll say so? They are not looking for love but fun. I'm afraid what is to come in the next 10-20 years, that gender no longer goes for single men, they want the married ones, afterall, if he can put a woman at home and cater to her for so long, he must be a loving, caring man......COMRADES MAY GOD BE WITH US ALL!

GreatAdvice: This is an unfortunate situation. But let's not forget that the girl stole her madam's money and used it to buy buns. I feel sorry for the girl for receiving such excessive maltreatment but i'm also happy because I know she will never do such again. Her madam may have changed the trajectory of this young girl, maybe she could've turned out to be a hardened criminal in the future but after such beating she will never commit any crime again. I will advise the the Police to forgive the madam because she's pregnant and the embarrassment she will face from all the press this story is receiving is more than enough punishment. If your own parents had put a hot knife to your back everytime you lied or did what you were not supposed to do, I'm sure you wouldn't be here typing rubbish. |

socialmediaman: If we are to ensure that the fundamental human right of the girl is protected, that woman should be made to pay for every penny spent on treating this girl plus therapy, and she should spent some time in jail or a holding facility after she delivers her baby, plus a mandatory psychological evaluation and therapy.
Her children should be interviewed occasionally at random to ensure she doesn’t pose a danger to them as well. You give up absolute control and invite interference into your life from the system when you commit acts like this
But of course we know what happens in our country Nigeria. Justice sometimes is only a fantasy Yea and what happens to those kids? They become responsibilities of the government, a government that already failed most of its normal duties is being asked to take on additional responsibilities....LMAO! All these human right and therapy talk no dey work for 9ja, even looking at the issue, 100 Naira is such a tiny amount that it shouldn't cause any wahala but in a nation like 9ja, don't be surprised that the 100 Naira might be the last kobo the woman had for the day. Until government does its duties and improve the economic and social well being of its citizens, more and more people will continue to behave like animals. |
