Samantha124: Oh! I see... No wonder you guys prefer civil wedding to a traditional one.
Some people from my tribe nowadays would just do a low-key traditional wedding and then do a civil wedding with at least four witnesses present, two from the groom's side and two from the bride's side, and they're done.
They'll do a white wedding later on... It can even take some years. Is not like we prefer civil wedding, most people here still manage to go for the traditional wedding, it's like a most here o. But the thing is that most men are running away from the financial burden that comes with it making them to avoid marriage. Or some desperate men and women use the tactics of getting the girl pregnant so that they can discuss marriage rites on your terms. |

Samantha124: It doesn't matter how I feel or think about it because they're not part of my culture and we need to learn to respect other people's cultures as long as they don't interfere with ours.
And besides, traditional wedding is a celebration which involves uniting two people who are in love. I think we should learn to respect each other's culture, but I think his point is that for those that are not financially strong should simply go for a low-key court wedding, later when there's cash you can do your weddings. Most traditional wedding in Nigeria are very expensive, you must be buoyant financially to do it. |

Kalatium: Hey goal getters, as the year comes to an end, here are 5 things I’d advise you to do before the year runs out.
1. Reflect on Achievements: Before the year ends, take some time for introspection. Reflect on your achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement throughout the year.
2. Start Setting Goals Now: I know this may sound cliche, but the earlier you set the goals, the clearer they are. Use the facts from your evaluation to set clear goals for the coming year.
3. Strengthen Your Network: Networking is a powerful tool for career growth. Reconnect with colleagues, mentors, and industry peers. Attend networking events, join professional associations.
4. Work-Life Balance Assessment: Take a close look at your work-life balance. Assess whether your current work schedule and responsibilities align with your personal and professional priorities.
5. Financial Planning: I know we’re getting to that time of the year where we spend a lot on festivities. It is advisable to review your financial situation, spend wisely and set financial goals for the coming year.
Which of them speaks to you the most? Nice write up. I've been practicing this for the past four to five years. |

Franzinni: you don't have the right to hold such views of men, you want to eat your cake and have it? Your forefathers would have dragged you to the gallows for saying such back then... You should be grateful for the weak men that gave you the right to be delusional... I guess you are ignorant about the topic you speak of and it's ok. The strength of men is the reason why everything works in the world today... Even down to that phone you type that rubbish on, made possible by men, the electricity you use to charge it made available by men, the house you are sitting in and typing that trash, built by men.... Be humble Exactly. Even the house she's sitting typing those shit is being paid for by a man. |

Politics › Re: 2022 Internally Generated Revenue, Top 3 Per Zone by achimendy(m): 4:00pm On Nov 28, 2023 |
BreconHills: It seems you don't know what IGR is. IGR is reflective of productivity and economic activity. States with low IGR's have lower rates of productivity and economic activity. Anambra cannot claim to be a hive of economic activity and have low IGR.
If as you say this is intentional ( which is another word for inefficient) then how does the state fund its economic activities? How does it provide infrastructure to drive greater productivity? Two ways
1. It relies on FAAC handouts 2. It is a hyper capitalist environment in which sweatshops employ low cost labour to create outsize profits for the few.
Both models are unsustainable especially where 2 has no USD linkage. The effect of 2 is high outwards migration in which the young and strong use their strength in other states ( such as Lagos, Ogun, Rivers or Kaduna,) to drive the economic activity of those states.
A sad use of human capital.
Advice. Stop trying to spin this. Igbo people are hard workers, all they need is more collaboration and inclusion. You're right to some extent, but his point and what you also fail to understand is how every government tax her people. You need to put that into consideration too. The way the UK government tax her people and the way the german government tax her people can not be compared, the UK government tax more. An environment with high economic activity and the government also 2% from her people, and another environment or state with high economic activity and the government also tax 5% from her people can never have thesame IGR ,the later will always have higher revenue, because of the different level of taxation. |

Is it normal or it is something that has to be treated?
If i have brush, I don't have any odour from morning till night except for night to morning sleep.. Brush b4 you sleep in the night, you won't have that smell in the morning. That's why is good you brush twice in a day. |

Rich4god: Am lending my voice to this thread https://www.nairaland.com/7922406/wife-why-life-women-complicated#127165126
A couple of days back, my wife put to bed using CS. Initially we had a baby before, I a know how complicated and painful the pregnancy and childbirth was.
Now I was in the theatre during the CS and I saw first hand how someone's abdomen was sliced open and the baby pulled out. I also saw how doctors were putting their hands into someone's abdomen and how they finally stitched her up. It wasn't an easy sight to behold. Right now, she's recovering, but the pain she's passing through is much.
To me, this is the highest form of sacrifice that someone can give for the family.
So to the men and husband out there..... before you ask your wife to be "what she is bringing to table", kindly think about the sacrifice they make in bringing your children to the world. As far as the family is concern both the husband and wife have their various roles to play. And in other for the family to work both couples must play their part. You also need to know that a woman's responsibility is more than just giving birth, thesame way the responsibility of a man is more than just provision. Is not easy taking care of children, many men has lost their over the while trying to provide food for their families. So stop talking as if you're ignorant of what most men are passing through all in the name of trying to provide. |
