aonag:There is no sure order especially with the doors/frame. Height adjustable doors can be fixed before or after but nonadjustable doors must be before tiling. Electricity comes before any type of ceiling. I wouldn't want any heavy ceiling works after ceiling has being installed. Besides, Electrician will charge higher labour charges working in an already finished ceiling. The risk of damage to ceiling and ceiling heat is unbearable. Ceiling should come before tiling. This is to avoid staining/scratching the tiles especially with POP and scaffolding. |
quintybabe:Let me give u an example, if an exam ask for a definition. The marking scheme does not ask for say 3 marks for the definition word for word. Alot of people will fail. So the marking scheme picks say 3 words without which the definition is incomplete. If a candidate uses the 3 words he get full marks. If he uses 2 he gets 2 marks out of 3, if he uses 1 he gets one mark. The major problem is these keywords may have synonyms. These synonyms should be considered by the marking scheme. Without the marking scheme, lecturer will make mistakes failing some who are right and passing some who are wrong. Also, when a candidate, protest his scores, a remarking must be called and this time not just the lecturer but a selection of lecturers. They will vet the script with the marking scheme. "It is important to have and not need it than to need it and not have it". If you have marked with a marking scheme before, you will find out you need it especially for the 1st1-10 scripts. Pause marking for a week, you will refer to the marking scheme again because you will forget some minor details. Leturers dont have time to mark all scripts at a go. In public universities with strikes, one time it took me a year to see the results. Marking in a span of 6months, only a marking scheme will guarantee fairness. |
One of the reason a marking scheme is very important is the distribution of points or marks. At the point of setting the questions, marks must be allocated to each answer. The points may not be the same. It may take a month or 2 to start marking the scripts, its easy to forget the tiny details if marking scheme is not prepared. Secondly, it will also standardize the entire marking of the test or exam scripts. If a lecturer does not prepare a marking scheme, marks may not match across all scripts and its possible to have a student score over a 100%. Thirdly, if the lecturer were to die (God forbid it happens) after the exams was written, with a marking scheme, another lecturer will mark and result will be fair to everyone. Lastly, marking scheme gives a standard method of marking and standard acceptable answers can be adopted. However, i had a Prof who didnt use marking scheme and never lets other people mark his scripts. His marking points are not standard across scripts. For test, he never prepares a question before the time, he constructs his questions on the board. I was told by his senior student how to pass his course when about half of the class usually fail. I passed on 1st attempt. He wants you to make sense and use what he has taught you. In fact, i was told to edit his question if i didnt understand it, and solve as best as i could. He has no respect for final answer but has full respect for logical expression. So he marks every script as an individual question and answer. You must do something in context of his questions, whether right or wrong, your logical expression will impress him and you will get marks |
I worked as a consulting site engr. I worked alone most times and had an official car that commanded respect. I supervise mainly people who were older than me and far richer. Most were far experienced than i was. I had even expatriates work under me. They were contractors and subcontractors. I gave them respect and demanded they do what i expected of them. I need not exchange words or disrespect them, a bad report would do them a lot of damage, so they respected my position. One time, i worked with a retired AGM who was a contract Project Manager. He has had cause to beg me on behalf of his company. The odd thing happened when i visited my uncle who was also a serving AGM where the PM left. I met this PM with my uncle and the 3 of us said at the same time do you know this man. I has been difficult to refuse the PM onwards, that meeting always interfered with my judgement. I still have the courage to tell him to do his best so as i wont have to take any action. I took my first real bribe from this man, thats how bad he has affected me. When it came to my colleagues, they were even older than my own father. I have had cause to have serious verbal altercation with a senior expatriate colleague as old as my father. Overall, it is the responsibility of the junior colleague to respect his age and i will respect him too. |
HenryWilliams:I think its normal. |
waveman2:You have it online but didnt read it? 9. (1) The National Assembly may, subject to the provision of this section, alter any of the provisions of this |
Olumaeme:Budget of INEC is not a constitutional matter bro. On the card reader, there is an election process described by the constitution which was amended by an electoral act in 2010, the 2010 amendment prohibited electronic voting. This caused divergent opinions on whether INEC is contravening the 2010 act or not by using card readers. The constitution and act both had given INEC the free will to decide but the act which was an amendment prohibited electronic voting. Because of the arguments, an act was sought and passed in 2017 to legalized card reader and to displace all arguments or those who may decide to challenge its use in court. The exact point i am trying to make, INEC has the right enshrined in the constitution to decide how it will register voters conduct the process. No act or amendment can remove that right from INEC whether all the law making processes are followed because any law that contravenes the constitution becomes null and void. So, NA can add provisions, which they did in 2010. These provisions are to put the elections in a better scope and limit the right of INEC especially with regards to electronic voting. It was established that INEC didnot contravene the 2010 act by card reader because the card reader is a voter authenticating maching not a voting machine. NA passed an act in 2010 to capture the card reader and make it legal. On the bolded, any law created by NA, passed by state assemblies and LG councils and signed into law but contravenes the constitution is not a law. Thats why the judiciary is there. The judiciary will simply strike the new law out if approached. When the constitution says armed robbery is a crime no legislation can make armed robbery legal. Legislation can only increase or decrease the punishment. The law checks itself even against those who make laws. Lastly, even though the NA is the highest law making body in Nigeria with so much powers, those powers are absolutely limited by politics and bereaucracy. They have the powers but cannot use it in certain cases. Example of that is state creation or referendum that people are shouting for. The law process looks easy but to fufil the process is near impossible. |
Gucciboss: nonut:They cant undo the constitution. They can do anything, except the constitution. Eg, they can make a law saying all new born babies should be killed. This law will be invalid because right to life is in the constitution so they cannot remove it. Their laws must not contradict anything in the constitution. I hope you get the point |
Olumaeme:If thats what you think, the NA can delete or create a state. Unfortunately, they dont have such powers. Anything NA does that contravenes the constitution is null and void. They can add but cant subtract. When constitution grants INEC independence, the power to add has been denied them. The independence is from the Executive, legislature and judiciary. Only the judiciary has some powers over inec with regards to INEC contravening other laws of the land. They are only to do their job within the laws of the country. The constitution grants governors and president immunity, NA cannot remove it but can add more immunity clauses that must not remove anything that is there already. When the constitution says i am free to live any where in Nigeria, NA cannot amend it to say i cant live in Enugu. They may only add a condition say i must have a valid Nigerian ID card to live in Enugu. |
Xisnin:No, you are absolutely wrong. National Assembly cannot change the constitution. They can only amend or create new laws (in other words, add). This has a limit as there are things they cannot do only by themselves. To amend the constitution requires 2/3 majority in Senate, House of reps, all 36 Houses of assembly and all 774 local government councils. That is why no new LG of state can be created by the National assembly. That is why the independence of INEC cannot be tampered with, it is their right. It would have been better for NA to advise INEC rather than compel them. Any law asking them to obey a certain decision is no law as it contravenes the constitutional independence granted to them. |
wailersarefools:Who were the Nigerians that ganged up to remove Jonathan? |
Whats wrong with this south east people. When Nigerians ganged up to remove a failed president Jonathan, they supported him instead. Now Nigerians are ganging up to remove another failed president Buhari, and are now supporting him. Why are they always joining the losing side? |
franugo:This could be a simple case of bad radiator cover or in worst case the entire radiator. The problem is no Mechanic drives the car, so the mechanic is not there when the problem happened and will most likely treat one issue for another. It is your responsibility as the driver to do some basic test and observations which will aid the mechanic in choosing the actual fault. A leak, is not the same as burnt head gasket. A bad radiator cap is not the same as bad radiator. I suggest start from the cheapest solution. That will be to change the radiator cap. Cap failure causes boiling and spilling of water in a system that seems ok. The reserve tank will always fill up then spill water from there. |
lilyfaith:If you do that as my wife, you will be surprised. Its not hunger that will 'rewire' my stomach, its another woman |
hotmum:Communicate! Tell him that he has not been eating at home lately and you've been wasting food. Before cooking next time, call him on phone and ask if he will eat at home or not so you know to include or excluded him. If i were him, that's when i will make things right or take blame if anything goes south. |
2. It is normal for brake fluid to go below normal from time to time:Brake fluid should go below normal as brake pads wear off. The above point is not a misconception. It is only abnormal for the brake fluid level to go down within a short time especially if the short time is not corresponding to brake pad wear or if it goes below minimum level. Best times to top off brake fluid is 1. after installing new pads and the level after bleeding is below the top level 2. When fluid level is below the minimum level. If i am to top it at this level, i will investigate a leak first. I will also not top to max level if my pads are not newly installed. Brake systems dont easily fail, a look at the fluid level weekly is enough to rest your mind. There are no parts to service. Most cars have installed warnings for worn out pad. 2003-7 Accord will constantly squeal miles before you have metal to disc contact. You wont ever miss it if the brake pad is good. Brake failure is mostly due to 1. Bad replacement parts such as brake pads and master cylinder 2. Overheating due to over braking, brake binding etc 3. Loss of vacuum from engine shutdown 4. Leak from busted pipes or seals 1 and 2 are the responsibility of the driver while 3 and 4 are not serviceable. It means my entire list is not serviceable. You can only know from how the brakes feels if there is something wrong or not. |
EgunMogaji:After watching the video, i agree this cement will self level. It does that because of high viscosity just like custard powder would level itself after poking it with a finger. |
I thought to share this beautiful wall decoration i undertook today. I was given a pack free so i took time today to install. A pack fits 4-5sqm and is soaked with 10litres of water. I found out that this quantity of water was a little short, next time, i will use 12litres. My installation was a little more (7sqm) which lead to a short. However the short will be behind the TV console. Also, the short caused us to lean the screed. Wall is prepared by screeding and sanding. See some pictures below, even though my camera didnt do well.

My very first phone, Samsung R220 aka Samsung blue face Very funny i bought the phone but couldnt afford the sim for months. Bought the phone N13,500 and sim was same price. I later got an arrangement to buy the sim in instalments. After paying the first installment of 6k, sim price was slashed to 6k a week later. For years the woman disturbed me to pay the balance installment, i asked her each time to come collect her line back. She was still calling me for the N6500 balance when sim was about N500.

With the aftermarket, you will be back to status quo very soon. I replaced both front and back about 3yrs ago, back is still intact but front leaked its oil December but i dont have vibrations. The last time i changed the mounts, i wasnt satisfied, there was still vibrations until i changed valve cover gasket. I believe that increased engine vacuum which also increased the vacuum to the front mount. Very bad mounts will give an engine thud when starting from zero. Even though mine has leaked oil, it has not cut. I will still manage it till it cuts since there is no vibrations. My friend who uses 2008 accord got tired of replacing mounts with aftermarket, as soon as he got a used oem mount, its still intact 2yrs after. Non of the aftermarket lasted 6 months. |
Last time i checked definition of rape was; non consensual intercourse. Lets agree to change it to whatever each woman decides to personally define it in favour of her own needs. Those in favour of the motion click like for AYE Those against click share for NAY. Haba! Na so one girl dey claim say persin dey rape her severally since 2016 ![]() Taxify drivers sef dey fear rape these days. Abeg make we repeal the definition of rape asap |
Jamariwolf4:Check the bolded. Scientifically, it is proven the other way round. For reasons best known to you, it gives you pain. Its either you are terrible in bed or nature has been unfair to you by having a dry pussi or lastly, u probably had been genitally mutilated. |
missjo:Very simple, stick to your guns. However, am only worried that you and Caeser may be practical strangers to take the plunge. What other stuff does Caeser need to take care off that he has to sort out before plunging? No rush this thing, regret no easy to live with and divorce is messy. |
MyCircle:How so? The cycling is between the north and south. Its not the norths place to choose where president comes from the south. Its is left unto Igbos and Yoruba to sort it out in 2023. Let igbos find a way to put themselves high in the ruling party. |
GoroTango:Igbos are the ones excluding themselves from the presidency. The Nigerian prrsidency is a north vs south thing. It alternates. Unfortunately, the north is an indivisible block. While the south is divided according to its geopolitical zones. Who ever among SW, SE or SS that aligns with the north, carries the day. Last election, SE and SS formed an alliance while North alligned with SW. That was 2 against 4. SE has to find a way to be with the north such that it will be North, SE, SS vs SW or atleats North SE vs SW, SS. 5 vs 1 or 4 vs 2 to have it their way. Lets not forget, its the North east that has never ever ruled nigeria. |
Alariiwo:During the heat of 2015, i told all the Igbo i could get this message, they refused to hear. Yoruba worked with APC for 2015, North will return the favour in 2023 no matter how Igbos beg. By 2031, power should return to the north. The earliest Igbo will get this chance is 2039, that is, if they realized what they need to do. |
DrinkLimca:Imagine the tables turn. If the son in law was richer, and he buys a range rover and designer clothing for his mother-in-law and not even a call to the father in law, how do you think the father in law will feel. No one is against the gifts, but that gift can be a source of trouble for the couple. If i were the father in law, the love i have for my daughter is the love i will extend to her husband. Anything less breeds contempt. |
nextstep:Thats very easy to get since tank is physically avalable. |
Rubbiish:In a bungalow with no columns, block wall is a load bearing member. In a framed structure, block wall is strictly a partition and treated as imposed load. The structural integrity is unchanged with or without the block wall. In a normal duplex for example, block wall is a dead load. Depending on the building design, the structural integrity of the building will be dependent on the walls. In this case the wall is part of the structure. Dont forget that block wall is not the only partition type available. My point is that the building design determines how it is built. My second point is that, in building 1-3 storeys, eccentricity of columns may not be a problem but when you go higher, column eccentricity is paramount. Eccentricity is the main reason why building frames is more difficult because level of accuracy must increase. You can build a single storey building by frame. Have you heard of cranking of rebar. It is done where the eccentricity of column rebar has been missed. You cant get away with cranking in a high-rise frame structure. That will be a serious structural flaw that cant be ignored. Block wall in low rise buildings leads to eccentricity issues so you might wanna leave partitioning for later. Also, because block wall is designed as imposed load, it is best practice load the structure only after concrete has cured for 28days. |
olatade: Feshizzy:Not exactly. As long as one or both chargers is an intelligent charger, no harm will be done. A charger reads state of charge to determine the level of charge. See picture below. A 12v battery at 12.6v + means full charge. Both chargers will see this and stop charging. Same battery at 11.9v is 40% charged. Both charges will see this but which ever is faster or whichever is switched on first will see this low charge and starts charging by raising the voltage appropriately to 13v and above. The second charger which is either switched on later or is slow will see the high voltage and assume it is full and wont charge. If i have solar and nepa to charge, if i prefer solar to charge, i will turn off nepa for a minute. While solar is charging, turning nepa will not amount to anything. |
EgunMogaji:The basic structural difference is that the former is a load bearing wall while the latter is not. In other words, wall is a structural member in load bearing walls while its not a structural member in non load bearing walls. In design, load bearing walls have loading limits. This load bearing walls approach their load limit with "3-4 suspended floors". Reason being that, if ground floor walls are load bearing and building has 10 suspended floors above it, all that load will be factored into each and every load bearing wall below. So imagine the load of 10 suspended floors factored into a sandcrete wall at the ground floor, columns are more suitable for that job. So load bearing walls are deleted. Since there are no load bearing walls, beams and columns must be built with perfection. Block work comes in the way of working towards building a perfectly vertical column. |
technicallyrich:My wife was slim and tall, just how i liked it. She is not who she is now. She added almost half of her previous weight. I was equally a very slim and tall guy just after secondary school when we started dating. Soon after that, i became a fat guy. She never stopped loving me anyways till i married her. Who am i to complain now? My wife's sister was slimmer that i was worried how she was going to give birth. She married a guy even fatter than i am, their wedding caused a lot of tongue wagging but she is the right size now and had twins. I want to suggest if you are scared of fat women, dont get married at all. It will not be good for her self esteem when you start trolling her. Those who keep their weight in check, fight hard for it, it takes determination and will. Not everyone has that. Its either you find that person or leave it. |
