DMechyy:The average life of engine oil is what? Maybe 3500-10000miles. Also, during its life, it collects dirt, sooth and particles that make it unusable in another engine. For plugs, the average life span in a good engine is atleast 30000 and can be up to 100,000miles. What ever carbon deposit it collects can be cleaned. So it can be used in different cars during its life span. Yes, substandard plugs are a problem, I have seen one melt. My issue with toks plugs is getting the right spec. |
HEAVEN4444:No you didn't read the thread. You are ashamed that you were quick to point a finger at me without doing your due diligence. Just like you posted a link to support your myth but you didn't even read or never understood what they link said. You really need to be ashamed and really have comprehension issues. You will not post this after you read that my problem was actually not transmission related. HEAVEN4444:Shame on you |
HEAVEN4444:You are not a learned person at all. Did you read the thread before shaming yourself. Did you read to where i posted this. It wasnt a transmission problem, it was water in my brain box. Shame on you. . This is it. I had water in the ECM! |
HEAVEN4444:You really have comprehension issues. That was an Automatic and i drive the same gear box 7years after that thread. Aint you ashamed of yourself. I have never changed my transmission. Go find a hole and hide in shame. |
HEAVEN4444:An Automatic!!! Da!!! Are you that myopic? Comprehension issues definitely. I am still driving the same gear box, did you bother to read till the end what went wrong. Besides, i didn't start this topic. The number of things you mistook is quite many. Signs of comprehension problems. |
HEAVEN4444:If anyone doesn't know how to read a speedometer, that person shouldn't be behind the steering wheel. Desired speed again? Didn't you say how many people can gauge speed, what of desired speed, is it different? By implication, you drive that way because you can't gauge speed, how is it the right thing to do? If you can't drive a manual correctly, just get an Auto. You are not the first. My father got old and doesn't want to touch a manual, i don't blame him, i got rid of it before it rots away. Just give it up if you are not good at it. |
ksmart027:I happen to have all the time today

HEAVEN4444:Very good. You posted a link to a write up you probably didn't read. Let me highlight A typical challenge those learning driving face relates to braking: should they first use clutch or the brake. In our braking tips we will simply the issue in context of situations you are likely to face but first, you would need to know what does a clutch do.Out of the four scenarios above, only one says clutch before braking and with a condition that you are at the lowest speed of your gear. You clutch because you car will stall if the speed drops lower especially if at first gear. Even when stopping, you slow down to the lowest speed of your current gear the clutch and put 1st gear if you will continue or neutral if your are stopping for a while. Meanwhile anytime you press the clutch you either change gear or put it to neutral and release it. This means in majority of driving situations you brake before clutch and in only one condition you clutch before braking and that is only at low speeds usually traffic situations. |
HEAVEN4444:The first car, I sold it 2010, we had it for 14 good years without damaging the transmission. My father and I were the regular drivers with the same driving style but never had a transmission issue. Before that, my dad drove his manual brand new VW Bug from 1979 till 1996, 17yrs, without a damaged transmission. I am sure you have never used same car for that long to even know for sure what you are talking about is true. What you are talking about is a myth, else bring facts or research corroborating information so i can believe you. One thing for sure with a manual, the more you clutch the more you change your clutch plates, brake pad and brake disc. Its your choice, your car. If i have a manual today, anyone who drives that way will not get to drive my car. When you insist on unsubstantiated myths like this, I am sure you would have since thrown your thermostat to the gutter and connected your cooling fan direct while subscribing to anything but manufacturer's specifications. |
HEAVEN4444:I have been driving since the late 90's and have never replaced a transmission on the 3 manuals i have used. Just google it. |
HEAVEN4444:What ever i told her applies to you. Do you know that in some countries, it is illegal to coast? It is also illegal in other countries to park your car and leave it in Neutral? You park the car, engage the handbrake, put the gear in 1st or reverse and turn your steering towards the curb. Do you know that when you free roll, you use more braking power to stop or slowdown meaning you wear your brakes faster and also your rotors? Do you know that Automatic transmissions in a "free rolling" downhill downshifts to an appropriate high gear for added engine braking. Are the designers mistaken to have programmed such action? Does that destroy the transmission or engine? Do you know that Hybrids uses the engine braking to generate power that charge the batteries? Chairman, you simply need to do your research cause you don't seem to know. Do this test on a 2003 above Honda (i am sure), coast downhill at 100kmph with no throttle, you will notice that you are gaining speed, press your brakes once and release, you will notice that the gear down shifts immediately to help you with more braking force. Leave it to continue coasting, you will see that the car is now decelerating without applying brakes. That will be pure engine braking and it is not harmful to transmission or engine. Dont forget that it is based on the manual transmission that the automatic was developed so reverse the case and nothing gives. Both manual and auto trans work with the same basic principles. Whatever you know, don't assume it is the best or thing until you have the complete information.

Divoc19:I have been driving for about 23yrs now and a manual for more nearly all of those yrs. Infact I sold the last manual in my family not up to 2yrs ago https://www.nairaland.com/5471836/naija-used-1998-mazda-323f#83129591
|
Divoc19:The car starts jerk when the car is in gear and the rpm drops too low usually around 600rpm. That too low rpm is an rpm that the engine cannot produce enough power to provide the required torque to keep the car in motion. No one who properly knows how to drive a car will let it jerk. It is either the driver engaged a too low gear or is paying attention to the rpm which is what driving a manual car entails. Driving a manual entails monitoring more than just clutch and gear. You have to monitor the rpm and speed to select the right gear. A clutch is never meant to be press and held. I am telling you for a fact that your teacher taught you wrong. He taught you using easiest way to teach someone to drive a manual but not the proper way. If you know what "engine braking" is, you will know that once you clutch, there is no engine braking. So if you dont even know what engine braking is you are yet to know how to properly drive a manual. |
Divoc19:Sorry, he taught you wrong. Your clutch will not last with that much clutching. You actually don't need to clutch every time you are slowing down especially with modern cars. What you need to avoid is braking with gear beyond 1000rpm. It means you brake till the rpm drops to 1000rpm then you clutch and downshift 1 gear down. Remember that clutching and holding is bad so anytime you clutch you need to change gear or put it to neutral then release the clutch. If you are clutching on a downhill, both your brakes and clutch will suffer. If you are familiar with engine braking, you will not encourage anyone to clutch and brake. |
Rozcol:You like the guy? Why the fuss? Wish your friend goodluck and move on. By the way, whats your reason for not accepting the guy? My wife today is from similar scenario. I went to woo a girl and met my close friend who told me he was there to do the same thing. I backed off and wooed her younger sister whom i got married to. Funny thing was that the girl didn't give him the green light, they were just closer friends while she was seeing others. My cousin is currently dating a girl, he actually wooed her younger sister first who had been to his house severally. Their relationship was awkward to him as the girl didn't act mature lyrics and he later met the older sister and wooed her. The older sister was aware of the cold Relationship and had to ask my cousin and sister if they slept together which the never did. |
Earthstorms:It seems you have forgotten who won the popular votes in Zamfara. The Governor simply knows there will be no coming back if he is still in PDP. I long predicted his movement. May I remind you he came at a distant 2nd to the APC candidate that was disqualified. You people know the truth but always by some crooked reasoning ignore it. Hian |
DaSugarBoi:Normal Paid 40k for paint and 25k for panel beater. I had already purchased new bumper, fender mud guard, engine splash guard and other things the panel beater needed. |
DrFunmisticGlow:Why didn't you tell the person who said to use Hydrogen peroxide how dangerous it is in the ear. Go to hospitals, thats what the use yet the only advice you gave to a person who has an insect in his ear is to go to a hospital. I knew you are all about the money and nothing goes for free. Who asked you for prescriptions here? Where is the public education? There are miss informations here, how many did you voluntarily rendered qualified advice without the push i gave you. Even if you gave prescriptions, I will assume you are a quack since you should know better. Please park for side and keep your opinions to yourself if you don't have any free contribution to the tread. You will educate the public for free but you will not jump into conclusions when a person has an insect in the ear. How conflicting? You will point people to the hospital, did anyone ask you about the direction to the hospital? I wonder if the op didn't know any hospital that you had to direct him to one. I just pray I don't get to rely on Drs like you who feel the value of their knowledge must be exchanged for cash. If the only advice you can give as a qualified Dr is directions to a hospital then you are not qualified to be my Dr or anyone's else who cares about his life. |
DrFunmisticGlow:You are a Dr. yet I have not seen your qualified advise. Meanwhile, tell me how worst his condition will be by my advise so I can learn not to advice anyone in future. I read about it on google and it solved my problem, maybe I was lucky, explain how bad it was so i dont repeat the mistake. The information in your head is not meant for you alone, alot of people gave theirs to you to become what you are. There is a Facebook page of Peadiatricians on Facebook and they give advice. Nothing prevents you from giving qualified advice. In fact, if I saw your qualified opinion, I and the numerous Nairalanders who gave unqualified opinions would have not said anything. In my field, I give my qualified opinion in the properties section when I can, In car talk, I give unqualified advice from my personal experience. This helps the affected person to find a proper solution and not fall prey to quacks, I suggest you borrow a leaf. Secondly, I am not telling you my bad hospital experience to legitimize my advise, I gave it to prove a point that even hospitals can be unqualified as well as the medical professionals found within. There are things you can advice people as a qualified professional online and there are things you simply cannot say or do. You need to Identify the line between and render your free service (advice) when asked. There is a public hospital pediatrician I know and was nicknamed Dr. Sharp sharp. He had a private clinic. He was fond of writing prescriptions that will not help the patient and say next patient. He didn't care about the patient when he is on ward rounds. The aim was to not to give proper care to patients in the public hospital while telling patients to see him in his private hospital if they wanted proper treatment. In his private hospital, you become an in patient for even a headache for as long as possible. When my child was sick while i was away, my wife took the child to his private clinic because he was the only pediatrician in the town. Someone saw her and told me how bad the Dr. was, i rushed home and insisted he discharged us, the man refused and even walked me out of his office telling me if he discharged us, he will recognize my wife and I anywhere and will never treat us even in the public hospital. He got fired not long afterwards, imagine the number of children who died in his care. While talking to him a woman came crying with something like an unconscious child but the Dr didn't even look at the infant. He told her point blank to go tell her husband who has been avoiding him to come and settle their previous bills before he will even look at the baby. I took my child home with speed of light. Do not feel that some of us do not know anything or google is not qualified, the people who published the google information are qualified like you and know how it could help. You shouldn't dismiss them. Some people live remotely or are poor. You don't tell everyone to go to a hospital flatly. There are home remedies. This solution doesn't require insertion of foreign objects in the ear or taking medication. Drs like you have given advise on NL and i suggest again that you try it. |
DrFunmisticGlow:I am not against going to a hospital. Water did remove the insect in my ear. You should remember that ENT doctors are not every where. My wife got injured in the ear by a medical staff in a government hospital when she had a cotton bud stuck in her ear. The nearest ENT doctor was 300kms away. You can imagine the costs to further treat the injury that resulted to puss in a proper hospital. A friend of mine broke his leg in an odd place that a medical Dr didn't see the fracture even with several xrays. That Dr even insulted him and referred him out of the hospital for refusing to walk. He broke had a femoral neck fracture. I have nothing against going to the hospital but you need to understand certain situations that could pose a challenge for people to go to hospitals. The friend couldn't afford the bills he was given by an orthopedic surgeon, he had to resort to painful unorthodox traditional methods that left him limping. When I had an insect in my ear at 4am, with 2hrs to the nearest good hospital, a hospital didn't wasnt even an option. After all, I have experienced having water in my ear like a million times, so pouring water in is a relief that I could never doubt. |
DrFunmisticGlow:I did. In my case, the insect was walking on my ear drums, i couldn't even walk straight. The feeling was irritating. I searched google and found either water or olive. Olive oil will kill it to stop the irritation. Insects don't drown on water. They float, so floading the ear and tilting the ear way up will help the insect float up to surface and out. If it doesn't work, tilting back the head will expel the water and the insect will be dragged out by the water. |
investorMK:Next time, pour water into the ear. The principle is that all insects float on water. So tilt your head putting the affected ear upwards. Pour water until your ear is filled with wafer, the live insect will easily float itself outside the ear. I have practically done it when an insect entered my ear. |

izubext007:Those church activity sisters dont really understand worshipping God in truth and in spirit. |
mugnmuffin:Funny you didn't state categorically your issues with him. I can only assume that its because you are born again and he is not. If thats correct, then you stand at risk of being single for life or end up marrying at 50. You want to raise born again children or you want to raise christian children? At the end, when they turn 18 they can say to hell with your burn again life style no matter how thoroughly you feed them the born again line. Even Muslims can train Christian children. |
FirmTR:Once removed means to be separated by one generation. So for an uncle of a preceeding generation, if at all, should not be "removed" but "added" |
Romanoff:Don't insist on what you are not sure of To help you, everyone in your generation of great grand parents is simply a great grand uncle/aunt. Everyone in your generation of grand parents is simply a grand uncle/aunt. Everyone in your generation of parents is simply an uncle/aunt. Everyone in your generation is simply either a sibling or cousin Everyone in your generation of children is simply a your son/daughter or cousin once removed Etc
|
FirmTR:I don't know. But personally, let me tell you what i do. I use generations. My parent's siblings are officially my Uncles and Aunties. Furthermore, my parent's cousins, first, second, third to the last are my parents generation as well as his siblings. So to me, the entire generation is of uncles and Aunties. The above should answer your question, but to be clearer, a first cousin removed should call op or any one in his father's generation uncles and Aunties. Note, Op and his first cousin are in the same generation. To understand these relationships, you have to understand the generations first. |
Romanoff:Don't need to. You google it. |
Havilah9779:No, he is not a cousin. A cousin is your own generation. The question is in the generation of a nephew/niece's child. 2 generations away. |
Romanoff:Wrong and wrong Any one that is a cousin is the same generation as you. Anyone in the generation of your nephew/niece is called cousin first removed Anyone of the generation of your nephew/niece's child us a cousin twice removed And so forth So you share a grand parent with a first cousin. You share a great grand parent with a second cousin You share a great great grand parent with a third cousin You share a 3rd great grand parent with a fourth cousin Back to the question, the question asks of the child of the child of you aunt. You and your Aunt is Aunt You and your aunt's son are first cousins You and your aunt's son's child are first cousin once removed You and your aunt's son's son's child are first cousins twice removed So correct answer is first cousin once removed |
