When parents direct children, they tend to direct them towards what the parents want. To summarize that you don't know what you are talking about, I will bring to your notice that half tank in a Toyota Prado with dual tank is 90litres while that of peugeot 206 is about 25liters.

Half thank can be 15, 20, 25, 30, 35......litres depending on the car. You can't compare half tank of two different cars.

My car can go 400miles on a full tank but my parents car cannot. But my parents car has a smaller engine better fuel economy. The only reason my car can do that trip is because my tank can take over N10,000 fuel while my parents car cannot because of a smaller tank. 1k fuel hardly shifts my fuel gauge but 2k on the other car is more than a quarter tank.

Fuel tank is no basis for comparison.

Foaming is a suction leak issue. That means the pump sucks oil and air. Air is not supposed to be in the system.

Its either the suction pipe is broken or the suction seal is bad.

If you stand beside the car, you will only know it's on when the fan comes on. Yes, the fan and compressor come on and off because the thermostat is still intact.

Let me tell you what kills most cars in Nigeria. Removing thermostat and running the fan directly. Nothing kills an engine more than that. And almost 80% of cars on Nigerian roads have had their thermostats removed. Due to our ignorant mechanics.

The above causes the car to never reach operating temperature. And this causes loud engine sound, more fuel consumption and more wear.

Also, oil performs better at engine operating temperature. But when that temperature is never reached because the thermostat has been removed, oil too will not offer better lubrication.

Now, when you combine the above factor with thicker oil, and infrequent oil change, you have loud engine coupled with disaster.

Every factory component in my car is still intact, with thermostat and original Toyota coolant in radiator.

You now know why it runs silently.

Regarding your post, 2019 Honda Accord Touring is a beast on wheels, but I think it will guzzle more fuel compared to 2019 Camry (. This should be of less concern to you because I do believe that anyone that can buy a 2019 Touring with all its luxury shouldn't make fuel consumption a priority, else you go for the Regular Version. You can't conclude that 1mpg difference means fuel guzzling. 5miles difference is nothing compared to the satisfaction of driving a performance car. I will certainly not drive a boring car just to get a 5mile advantage on a full tank. Same way i will certainly not buy a car for a ridiculous myth in "resale value".

Camry and Honda is a cool car most Nigerian use, camry is only a bit better because of the resale value, it's resale value is better than honda but all in all both cars are good.

This resale value of a thing is a misplacement of priorities.

First, every Toyota car is always more expensive to buy used than any other brand in its class. However, the Toyota could be even cheaper to buy brand new.

What does that tell you, the only people who cash in on resale value are the people who bought the Toyota brand new.

In buying a used car, the depreciation is same. For example; buy the Camry at N6m and sell it after 2yrs for N4m and you lost N2m. On the other hand, buy the Accord at N5.5m and sell it after 2yrs for N3.5m and you lost exactly the same amount of N2m.

Resale price is not an advantage with a Toyota, the only thing i will admit in resale is not the value, its the demand which enables the resale quicker.

The indicator was reset to 100% oil life after the last servicing. After 2k miles, it dropped to 15% in 4.5 months.

4.5months is a long time coupled with other parameters.

You obviously don't go long distances and probably spend time in hold ups with AC.

Do you have your coolant thermostat still in place? Maybe you've been running below engine operating temperature and you don't know exactly what parameters they used in the oil life estimation. This may be one of the criteria affecting oil life.

Short trips is always a bad thing for an engine.

Am not talking about the type of oil.

Every time you change engine oil, you have to reset the oil life to 100% and it is manually done.

If you change oil at 40%, and dont reset the indicator to 100%, you can be rest assured it still assumes you still have your old oil. That means you will go less than 2000miles and see 20%.

I drive Honda 2008, I last changed oil at mid May this year. Since then I have only covered 2000miles before my dashboard started showing me that the car is due for oil change. Oil life only 15%. Is this normal?

I initially thought that the Normal distance before oil change is 3500miles for my model of car.

The oil life indicator system does not use the actual oil condition to determine the oil life. The oil life is just an estimate using speed, mileage, engine temperature, ambient temperature, engine running time, AC running time etc

On older cars, particularly my 2003 Accord, the Main. Reqrd light comes and stays on at 7500miles. This mileage was preset using the genuine Honda motor oil as recommended.

If on your 2008 Accord you have 0% after 2000miles, I think something is very wrong. I dont think the car is smart enough to know you are not using recommended engine oil.

I can only ask if you are sure that you did the reset to 100% at last service?

So, I had to change a Tyre in an emergency situation today and I encountered a problem. After unscrewing two wheel bolts from the Tyre, the third one was not coming off as the wheel spanner could not grip it. Taking a closer look, I discovered that the edges around the wheel bolt has no friction. It was almost round. It took the intervention of a vulcanizer before the bolt could be unscrewed.

My question is, incase of situations where the service of professionals cannot be reached, how can such an issue be handled? Please move to the front page for wider views..

Buy a 21mm black hex socket wrench and handle. It works like a charm.

I have experienced same thing with same car, Pontiac Vibe. A lot of Toyota people change the lug nuts to Honda nuts but i guess its not recommended. I wouldn't do it.

I had to buy and replace all the worn out nuts before I had peace.

My brother, I was out of job for like 6 months and wife took care of all the bills excluding rent and school fees and nobody noticed or knew I was out of job. No negative attitude showed up and I will tell you why. A close friend gave me this advice and I will share same with you. When you get your salary or business profit, remove your t-fare/car fuel and give the rest to your wife to manage the home. I was very hard for me to do but t I summoned courage and since 3+ years I started it, I have complete peace. Infact, my wife was praising me on how I was able to pay all bills and manage funds. By the time your wife will mismange the home funds (feeding, rent, kids sch fees e.t.c) she will wake up and realize that paying for gas in the home is the least issue. You will have utmost respect bro. I have been married for 7 years now.

Even though I got married late, I made sure I was gainfully employed before taking the giant stride.

I love my wife and she loves me too. I carry 98 % of the home responsibility, recently, because things are on the high side and my wife is working as well, I told her to be taking care of filling the gas while I handle other bills.
I have observed that anytime I go near the gas maybe to make food or boil water, she will remind how expensive gas is right now, after all, if it finishes, I won't give money to fill. Thats the best way to avoid all those unintentional side remarks from a woman. You know you can add the gas but women don't understand.

You shared shared responsibility already, so it would be hard to back track. I would have suggested you place her on a monthly stipend as your part that will be agreed from day 1. You give her that one and never have to get any side remarks if she fails to do anyone. Thats what I do. In my case, before the month ends she collects even up to the monthly stipend in addition but she can't blame me if i refuse.

Women want to be managers of the home, calculate every thing and give her, that way she knows you actually gave her money but paying the money yourself, they never take into account what you have spent.

I have same issue with my mum. It is the total amount you give a woman at month end that she appreciates.

Let me tell you how women calculate their husbands salary, it is simply your gross salary - what you gave her = Balance which should stay as fixed amount in your account.

If your salarybis 100k and you give your wife 70k, she knows better not to return. But if you give her 20k, trust me thats what she sees so she continues to believe you have 80k in your account. Transfer even the utility bills to her and pay her lump sum.

You are wrong on that Bible verse. No translation of the Bible used the word "can't". The words used are; does not - ESV/NKJV/NIV, fails - AMP, not - KJV, won't - NLT etc.

The AMP and NLT version used the best words to describe the context of the verse which you translated out of context.

Fail used in the verse is a verb and means

1. To be unsuccessful in achieving a goal

2. neglect to do a role
