I couldn't get the pipe locally new or toks. So i proceeded to do it the kazeem way, weld. I took out the pipe and it was dripping oil. Its very obvious that if that short pipe is dripping so much oil, i guess the recommendation is right so 70ml it is.

So am about to change some A/C parts in my car. I got the oil recommendation from the service manual shown below.

From the recommendation and the parts i am changing, a total of 70ml is what is recommended to be added for

Leakage 10ml.

My leak is on the discharge pipe from compressor to condenser. I recently started to notice oil on the pipe and had been losing gas. The last recharge didn't last a week and the pipe is completely wet will oil.

I am just a little scared knowing that too little oil risk the compressor seizing up while too much oil reduces cooling.

I am tempted to put 50 or 60ml instead of the 70ml. What do you think? In fact, i want to settle for 55ml. Neither full nor short.

All that analysis and design teaches you one thing, that is logical reasoning.

An engr should be able to provide an on the spot analysis on a structure and explain it without doing advance calculus or engineering maths or even structural analysis.

Engineering drawing comes to mind where you are given one view of a drawing and asked to draw other views of the object you have not seen. To get it right you have to use logic and imagination.

It is a perfect engineering question where a contractor or mason may not be able to explain the real purpose.

As a Civil Engr, there is one reason i have deduced for this norm in our building industry.

Structurally, its just to increase compressive strength of the foundation wall.

Usually, any building which has no columns transmits its entire load through the walls. It is also expected that the load increases from the top to the bottom of the wall. Therefore, the foundation walls bear the entire dead and live loads of the building's superstructure. Note that the foundation walls carries more load than the superstructure walls. Also, the foundation walls experience more deterioration due to dampness, wetting, drying and even chemical contents of the soil it is constantly in contact with.

In a bid to make the blocks of the foundation stronger, it is filled with lean concrete. Concrete is good in compression so by filling the block holes, the foundation walls will bear more load and the likely hood of failure is greatly reduced.

However, in practice, most builders don't actually fill the block holes as recommended. Some put broken blocks, boulders and like you said soil. These actions completely defeats the purpose of block hole filling. Putting laterite in block holes is worse than leaving it empty. Soil or laterite will encourage damping due to capillary action.

Block hole filling becomes very important in blockwork drainage where an access slab is placed for vehicle access. Sometimes you find these blockwork reinforced. Imagine the weight of a 30ton dumper truck over block work, if no concrete filling in the blocks, if the slab doesn't fail, the blocks under the slab will crush due to excessive compression.

I asked, "was the SRS disabled before fitting?“ To my horror, NO, was the answer. And this was a relatively well setup place!

I was at Kofar Ruwa, Kano to get one of my front car speaker, i was sitting waiting for the guy to return. All of a sudden, there was a big bang! I walked up to what seem to be ground zero. It was a Canada used (my guess due to rust) 2010 Toyota Rav 4 that had its right curtain airbag deploy while an electrician was doing some repairs.

Already people were suggesting all sort of cover up. These people have no intention to fix the deployment but were doing everything to hide it from the client who wasn't there.

To some dealers, deployed airbag means more profit from an unsuspecting buyer.

I was running late for a meeting this morning at Oyigbo in Rivers State. Because of the bad nature of the road to Oyibo,i decided to join to a commercial bus.

He went to call their commander, and the man came and said i should identify myself. I told him I'm a Nigerian. He asked why i was i making calls? I told him i didn't know it was offence to make calls at police checkpoints.

He said i was proving stubborn. How nah? Before i could say a word, one of them gave me a slap (E hot shaa) from behind and dragged me to their small office. I swear i wanted to react but held myself, and told him i am leaving him because he's on uniform. He was wearing jacket which covered his name and his number. I was trying to get his name, and he noticed and buttoned the jacket.

The commander finally came and said i should give him my phone. I told him i have to lock the phone first because of the confidential stuffs i have. He agreed and allowed me to lock the phone. I pleaded to make a call or send a text, he said if i try it, that he will shoot me. Omo, na there i come calm down before my sad story will grace front page on Nairaland. Someone (who i suspect to be a military officer on mufti) i didn't even know stopped and demanded to know what was my offence. He told them he saw the way i was being dragged and that i look so gentle.

Because men do not always attach emotions to sex. The man will have sex and only remember her if the sex was good and thats it, no emotional attachment. Only few women can do that. Women who do that are ashawos. Any woman who can do that is already an olosho or any name you choose to call her.
