The people calling other people Zombies are the actual Zombies themselves.

No one in his normal mind and not an illiterate will believe money to the tune of N60billion in cash could be printed to share to states.

When did FAAC start sharing cash for God's sake.

Which state government pays it's work force in cash or contractors in cash.

This can never make sense to a reasonable mind except for those people you find on the front page of this thread and the others like it.

Six yrs ago I left my city to a different city for a greener pasture, I left behind my wife and 2 children. I was a faithful husband to my wife and used her whenever I can everything was peaceful. Then come 2018 I have had planned to return back to my city in 2018 ending because I have had saved a lot of money to start business over there. Then the devil came to tempt me by sending me this beautiful woman till now I don't know how I gave in to her because I have vowed all my life to never cheat on my wife. But this lady won me over. We started dating and always sleep with her with condoms on to make sure that she doesn't get pregnant. But I was shocked jsut three months into the relationship, she drop a bombshell that she was pregnant, I was confused and I asked her what about all the condoms that I have been using and there's no way she could be pregnant but she insisted that I was the father. I told her I wasn't ready for the baby and I am married all I could ever do for her is to give her the money to terminated but she refused. She wanted to keep the pregnancy so I told her to keep it at her own risk because I will have nothing to do with her or the baby. I gave her the money incase she change her mind and decided to opt for the abortion she can use the money. She left my place in tears and she blocked me. I didn't know see her again till I left the city back to my city, actually I knew her house but I didn't bothered to go look for her. It has been 2 years plus since I am back with my family and I have never told my wife anything and she has never found out about my affair too. Last week I was in my office ( I am self employee) to my suprised the lady I had an affair with show up with a small girl who just look like me first time seeing her I was in tears . I was in shocked  and started wondering how did she know my office I was angry what if my wife was there but I decided to keep my cool and listen to her. She said she was attending a funeral jsut 10 mins away from my place and she begged me to watch the child for her and she will be back in an hour. I asked her about the person who gave her my office address but she didn't respond she said she will tell me when she return back. She gave me her number to call her incase of any problem. Honestly I don't know how I have accepted to watch the child for her thinking that she will be coming in a hour like she said, but she never came back. Her number was not reachable she also gave me a wrong number. I was shattered and I didn't know what to do with the child, I was at my office until 10pm trying to figure out what to do with her. At the end I have to drop her at my cleaner house where she is now. My cleaner hasn't been coming to work because she is taking care of the child and I am restless because I have no idea what to do with her. I blamed the lady for everything when I have asked her and given her the money for the abortion and why did she choose to keep the pregnancy then later to abandoned her with me when she fully know that I never wanted her in the first place. What will I tell my wife and will she forgive and accept her that easily. I love my wife and kids so I don't want to this my illegitimate child issue to break my home. Please house advixe me.
I am disappointed in you

Your own out of wedlock child cannot possibly disappear because of your wife and children.

Be a man, it's either your wife accepts the baby or leave you to your responsibilities. If your wife is a reàsonable person, she will do what's right

It took us illegal means to get paid as subcontractors. So many honest and hustling subcontractors and ordinary professionals lost money and property to this guy who is a project manager with very little experience.

Have been friends with a babe at my workplace and from her frequent visit to my office plus the way she calls me to check on me . you could easily tell that she likes me .

One thing led to another and we ended up kissing , after the kiss I told her to tell me about her past relationships plus her sexual life .

She opened up to me that she was introduced to sex at 8years old by one neighbor uncle ,
she told me how the uncle take her to his room and ask her to play with his Prick and sometimes would make her suck it ,she claim she couldn't tell her mom because she will beat her mercilessly

She said she officially started having sex at 10 ,she disclosed that she had done 4 abortions so far although the abortions were for the same guy . mind you she is just 24 years old

She claimed she's telling me all this because she loves me and wants to be honest with me .

But hearing all that I was weak.. this babe is from a wealthy family , she travels to yankee like someone going to a neighboring state plus she is an MSC Holder , unknown to her I have decided that I would marry her because she's educated and wealthy family is like a bonus but now she actually disgust me and I wish she didn't tell me all that ..

Ladies are doing shit behind forget all that pretty gentle face.. if I was to judge with the face I could have bet with my life that this babe was a virgin or atleast not that experienced in sex ...

and pls ladies if you have such dirty past ,I think u should keep it to yourself...

I'm just lost for words , wish I could unhear everything
Guy, you will regret if you leave that girl.

She committed to one guy and had 4 abortions for him. It only tells you one thing, she can commit. If she had abortion for 4 different guys, she won't even tell you.

You will end up marrying a girl worst than she is with a big secret and a failed marriage later.

Don't judge her, if you fear she can't get pregnant, get her pregnant beforehand.

Speak #FactsOnly.
Tell me with facts who among the MDX thread fix the issue through the update? Even the TSB says replace oil switch.

If madam had access to the info that there was a TSB on the issue, she should have seen in the TSB where she should have changed the engine oil switch. What did she do instead, she changed the oil pump TWICE. Did she change the oil switch at all?

When 2 people looking at the same thing and see differently, it's either that one is lying or is actually blind.

Stumbled on this thread during my usual visit to the the car talk section and noticed the whole drama that is beginning to look like a set up.

Been an avid reader but as a guest, seeing this had to make me log back in.

Let's take a quick look at the whole thing from the beginning.

Op went to gazzuzz, gazzuzz couldn't fix the problem, maybe because he lacked the knowledge on how to go about it as at that time.

Now that it looks like the oil switch upgrade is the only solution (which radautoworks had proposed earlier), and going by timelines of posts on this thread she was the first to propose that solution, alongside other valid repairs that were done on the vehicle, including the ones that involved removing and replacing defective parts severally for free (labour hours), because the Op kept providing fake parts, gazzuzz is suddenly interested.

This goes to show that the set up has been orchestrated from the beginning. The op ignored all the positives, there's nothing radautoworks could have done that the op would have appreciated, since he was on a mission.

The uploaded scan results shows the numerous problems the car had prior to taking it to radautoworks, the oil pressure switch issue was just one of it.

Other problems were resolved, the blue smoke was resolved and the reason for the white smoke was given as a result of the bad valve seals the op provided.

No credits for the 100 percent job done, just an upgrade is the reason all this bashing and name calling.

Goes to show how far people would go to bring down radautoworks because she's female, know her onion, she's thriving and they are envious.

Nairalanders should look deeper, this time, unbiased.

Gazzuzz is only packaging the whole thing and he ended up plagiarizing other people's research, an act that violates nairaland's rule 9, to make it seem like he is taking a different approach.

If radautoworks didn't post the source, baba wanted to pass the idea off as his own, hence the reason for not posting the source.

The link (mdxers.org) he posted, still goes to show that the only solution is an upgrade, as this has been an issue experienced by owners of the Acura MDX 2007-2009 model.

He is only repackaging and repeating what had been said earlier.

I'm sure that if radautoworks had done everything possible to carry out the upgrade (which was the only thing left to complete her job on the vehicle), the op would have held on to something else, because he was had a mission.
If the bold was grossly miss represented, it means you either intentionally want to twist facts or don't have the necessary comprehension skills required to understand what transpired.

It was only GEJ in 2011 that didn't win NW and still won the presidential election. GEJs 2nd election failed because the second swing region SW joined the first against him. Atiku in 2019 failed because he couldn't win neither of the NW or SW.

Thank you for the video. As stated multiple times and documented when the vehicle returned, there was no blue smoke from your very first visit despite you repeatedly saying there was. That's why I requested the video. Blue smoke is different from white/grey smoke. There was some white/grey smoke on your return (previously posted in video) which is why Glen did your valve seals for free with the seals you provided. Glen also vehemently denies your comment above as we do not source third party parts period for this exact reason.

My question was why, when you spent so much time and energy saying we didn't know what we were doing, you would go on a journey without a third party opinion especially when the jury was still out in the work we did. The only reason I can imagine is that you didn't actually believe the car to have severe problems.

As for everything else, I wish you the best and am glad you are okay. Please get high quality parts as the tokunbo ones are hit or miss. It will remove a lot of unnecessary heartache down the line. I will say again, YOU DO NOT NEED A REPLACEMENT ENGINE.

EDIT: is there a sweetish smell accompanying the smoke?
Madam, changing an engine is a choice and it is not yours to make.

What if that OEM valve stem seals you suggest plus labour and other materials cost ¾ of the cost of an engine replacement? What if he just wants to kill all the birds with one stone and he can afford to? After all that initial 1.3m could get a sound engine eliminating all the seals, the oil pump, sump and everything about the engine that you have so far done without success.

You stock valve stem seals if I am not mistaking but you don't stock tokumbo engines, isn't it obvious why you are against an engine replacement. Before you fixed his car initially, you were supposed to do a comparative cost analysis if he doesn't know what to do but you led him in a perilous path.

Note that everything you've done on that engine so far was throwing money in a shredder as long as the problem was still there.

Your clients do have opinions that could differ from yours so learn to be a little flexible. Also look at the economic aspect of whatever solution you provide.

Your blaming third party parts is just saving face.

Please say less from now on

There are businesses closing shop everyday.
Michelin closed and left Nigeria

Alot of companies close shop anywhere in the world when business becomes unprofitable to them.

MTN is cheaper in other countries but expensive here, how come? have you taken out time to understand why?

Fuel is expensive in some oil producing countries than Nigeria (Saudi, libya, US e.tc), have you found out why?

I repeat again, why Dangote? we have more than 5 cement companies in Nigeria, why are the rest not producing to 'capacity"? why are these ones not dropping price if truly it's possible to produce at #1100 per bag?

Why are new companies coming up to produce at #1,100 per bag?

I don't do sentiment or emotion when it comes to business, any business ran under emotion will crash within months.
My first business crashed within 3 years due to the fact that I kept allowing emotions and sentiments influence the business.

Victim mentality is not what I subscribe to.

If Dangote is the reason why cement is expense, let the other 5 companies bring down their prices or are you saying Dangote is the one controlling them too?
Do you understand market share and how government must regulate every sector or privately owned business.

Dangote cement has about 30% market share of Nigerias cement. In the name of private business, he can't just drop it to 10 at will, which will upset market forces and even the economy.

He has a license and somewhere in the license, there are conditions and consequences.

If MTN decides today they had it with Nigeria, they can't turn off their network and fly out in the next available flight because it is a national asset.

If dangote decides unilaterally to drop 10% of his market share, it is seen as economic sabotage by the government.

The problem then is corruption in the government

DMechy:
Nigeria's auto repair industry is a different ball game. It is not american, Japanese, or Asian. It is purely Nigerian and needs to be managed with the Nigerian experience.

First to all car owners:

Repairs are expensive:

1. The Nigerian experience
Most vehicles on Nigerian road, bought as toks are actually not road worthy and are titled salvaged at the point of purchase. Salvaged vehicle means, the cost of repair is greater than the actual value of the car.

Even for clean titled vehicles, repair cost actually goes up after the first 5 years, which is why reasonable owners trade them off for new vehicles. Interestingly, the ayorkele and lacreme vehicles in Nigeria are 8 years old or more.

2. That you buy a new vehicle does not mean your repair cost will be low. Why?
Because dealership will fvck you! Dealerships and anything that looks like one. This accross board, worldwide. Now, add Nigeria's wuruwuru ness. I have had vehicles taken to coscharis, and elizade, where the customer pays heavily for a catalytic converter replaced, only to stuck up nets in them.
Foreign dealership are rip off, Nigerian dealerships are rip offs and crooks.

3. If you want to be attended to in English, and some common sense, patronise educated packaged mechanics.
This does not in any way guarantee a good job, but you will at least be spoken to in English, and you have rights to complain, and maybe rant about sueing them, no Nigerian court will actually listen to your case, because there are more important pending issues, that they will never attend to. Maybe harrass with police. They are better off, the roadside that if you complain too much, you fit chop slap, and curses ontop your money, the not so crude ones, after putting your car in more problems than you brought it, will first resort to begging, then ask you to do your worst.

Whats the open advice to car owners.
Patronise a shop, with as much common sense and technical know how. They will be expensive, not very expensive, and you should be tech savy too. You are better off that way.

To Autoshops.
I give this advice with 8 years of tech, and dealership level auto experience.

1. You cant fix all cars.
If you need explanations for this. Ask, i will explain.

2. Dont take all customers
There are this sets that think owning a car, and paying for repairs amounts to owning you. Not bad, but with a mix of pride, and trying to lowball on prices of parts and repair cost, just avoid them.
I particularly will not take any customer that wants to buy their parts. Why? The story does not always end well.

3. Your front desk, should be tech savvy, and have good communication skills.

4. Dont fall into deep of, we fix all cars.
Preferably to maintain a good reputation, do not fix vehicles that are older than 10 years. The tales are not always great. With good automobile electrical knowledge, you can fix all brands, but older vehicles are no no. Let someone else deal with the cross. Most especially for new customers.

This is not a hardline rule, consistent and loyal customers have older vehicles, you dont to send them off cos their other vehicles are old.

5. You workers will chop you.
In the Nigerian experience, block loopholes, and dont hesitate to fire an employee thats out to kill your business. There are harmless ways they make extras on the job.

6. Too much technology and English sucks.

To this thread, it is sad the op and rad couldn't resolve without a grudge. Things dont always end the way we want them to. The most important thing is to learn from from the experience and move on.
Well said.

The only thing to add is; present a repair plan rather than price list of parts and labour. Follow the repair plan in the order of priorities.

We all understand that a plan never means we are sure your problems are over.

A plan means we will try this and see if it works

A parts list means buy these and all your problems are over

I saw a documetary about this some weeks ago and I was astonished.

Could you believe that our petrol is sold cheaper in Cameronhuh As a matter of fact, their taxi people don't buy from Cameroonian filling stations but smuggled and cheaper Nigerian petrol.

This Nigeria may never get better if things continue this way.
Funny enough na we the citizens that are responsible for all these troubles but end up blaming leaders or government.

Yes leaders and government have their part to play but we can't hold them responsible unless we become responsible citizens.
