almost everyone here is talking about internet business, not considering the cost of rip off internet subscription in Nigeria with poor service. how about providing this internet for people to use through WiFi and wimax. i had this idea a year ago but never knew it was possible till i read about it. if you can deliver cheap and reliable internet that people can access from their houses using laptops and phones without having to use a modem.i think thats a cool buiz.

i tried that but my ipad cant see the laptop whenever i try connecting wirlessly or via the usb. i know its possible but i think i have to download an app in the ipad for that but haven't really given it much thought.

debosky: That sounds like the MSc offered by University of Salford - my advice would be very simple: don't waste your money on that course.

As others have said, do your best to get into the top universities and avoid 'generalist' courses like 'oil and gas engineering' which are simply packaged to lure unsuspecting students. Study the fundamental O&G disciplines - petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering, geophysics, geology etc. at well established schools and give yourself a decent chance.

Thanks a milla, considering reservoir and drilling which of them ll be more beneficial in long run.

Over the years most things have changed, formerly graduates from my discipline Natural Gas Engineering were usually picked from the. University but now it's not so easy even though we are few and gas reserve depletion is yet to reach it's optimum when compared to oil. Is there any hope for the a fresh gas engineering graduate and how best can one improve chances of getting these opportunities? Thinking of doing a graduate program on gas engineering and management. How good is this course for a fresh graduate and is there something better?

I am glad I saw this thread. I am a graduate of gas engineering and I have plans of doing a masters programme abroad on gas engineering and management. However due to the difficulties in securing a job as a fresh graduate, I want to explore other options by becoming a licenced pilot. I am currently making plans of training in an aviation college in south Africa by jan next year which should take over 6mnths to get a PPL. So I am in a fix here on puursuing my natural gas career or switching to aviation. Please guys I need professionlal advice

also want to know the duration for ppl and cpl respectively

Aviation is only meant 4 pple wit d passion, cos ur 4st job is d hardest period of job huntin. D exams ar nt breeze tru. 4 southafrica, u got 2 av 75% 2 pass a paper.

i am a graduate of gas engineering and plans to do a masters program on gas engineering and management in an European university.However as a kid i wanted to be a pilot but was discouraged by parents who felt that their son could die in a plane crash and also considering the deplorable state of the aviation school in Zaria but after all these years the urge to fly has never been so intense as it is now. i am thinking of doing an aviation course in South Africa. But my question is, is it wise to switch careers in these times of job finding difficulties considering that i have a natural gas engineering background and how viable is the aviation industry cos i know the oil industry pays very well. Someone says i should finish my masters programme and take up piloting as a hobby but wont that make it more difficult to get a job as a pilot as my major would be on gas engineering?your advice would be immensely appreciated.

i am a nice person, and i love helping people. there was a day i was going to a friends place at night and this girl walked up to me and pleaded with me to walk her to her house which i did and when we got to her place she pleaded with me to wait a little that she wanted me to escort her and her roommate back to the road (the place is usually dangerous at night)i still agreed like a robot and waited for them to pack their bags(they where going for a weekend party at a boyfriends place). now after we got to the road they called a taxi and wanted to take a drop but they did not have enough funds. so without them asking i gave the driver 3500 and they thanked me and wanted my no even when i refused they insisted and i gave them. But since that day whenever they call me its usually for one favour or the other. they see me as their ATM. i tell u, this girls have never called to ask me how i am doing. But like my friend says 'you cant use a cup to drain an ocean'.My point is because i met some hungry cheap bb girls does not mean that i should change my personality and stop being nice to people, even though they tend to abuse it.

what does ijebu land have. can they sustain themselves?, do they have the infrastructure in place? these are questions they should ask before clamoring for state creation. Nigeria is already disunited, we should stop deceiving ourselves. In the bible when God wanted to put an end to the tower of babel, he gave them different languages and there was confusion. i believe that if we can practice true federalism where a state know that if it doesn't invest and generate revenues there would be no funds for it to run on and not wait for national allocations from the federal govt with no development at the expense of the public. i agree that the states would be like little nations but then the actual govt would be closer to the people.
