And I do not see women crying foul, it's mostly men complaining.

I watched and read many of these religious leaders' commentaries on feminism in marriage and their stance is that feminism stops in marriage.

I will try to be brief,I have created this thread as a discussion on feminism but I will buttress my points before making any mention.



What is feminism?

Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights in every aspect of society be it social, political, economic,legal and every other aspect that has skipped my mind it is about equal rights and opportunities,respecting women and treating them with dignity and whatever you will love to add. .

A feminist simply believes in the equality of people same way people argue about racial equality,democracy etc these are all liberal(arguably) ideals that have come into the mainstream as a result of enlightenment.You can also read on egalitarianism as well.


The point is, during the week three controversial or non-controversial threads graced the front-page,where a Christian leader,his wife and another female pastor admonished women to abandon feminism and one even said feminist shouldn't get married .

The constant attack on feminism made me wonder what exactly are these people scared of with feminism why is feminism a topic that gets on the nerve of some Nigerian men and honourable mention women .So why the sudden attack on feminism like as if feminism is bad and doesn't have its achievements and benefits a lot of the breakthrough and progress women have made today is as a result of feminism,so why do they belittle feminism and attach it to marriage alone?

They are three puzzles on the go and here we go.:

1. A broke father who has three married daughter went on a tour of visitation of each of them with some cash on him... To gain access t the gate of the estate where each of the daughters live he pays 200naira and after visiting and about to go, each daughter doubles whatever amount he have with left with him and to exit the same estate, he pays another 200naira..he did this same routine on the three daughters....and when he eventually left the last daughter's estate gate he is left with absolutely no money....

Now, how much was on him when he set off for this visitation tour

2. After a meeting of 10members and everyone shake hands with each other..how many handshakes occoured in that meeting..

3. Three witches have three children each having just one child. They intend to cross to the other side of a river with a boat that contains only two persons ( without a peddler) .now in the absence of any monther witch ,her child will be eaten by any other monther present..children don't eat children....how will everyone cross to the other side of the river safter and alive..?
