This may come as a surprise but that's what it is. We share close proximity with SW and we've been in SW for ages reason been that our ancestral lands are quite rocky and small which can't be used for large scale farming safe for some locations so our people migrated to SW before the coming of colonial masters. Joavid can attest to this but we don't seem to care about it
So, what you're saying in essence is that there are millions of Ebira people in the SW?
CultureRe: 30 Interesting Facts About Some Nigerian Minority Ethnic Groups by Afam4eva(m): 6:08am On Jun 22, 2017
Amoto94:
I do laugh at such people because Ebiras have been living in Yoruba territories before the forming of Nigeria and in short if an Ebira is speaking you may find some Yoruba words been used by the speaker due to years of interaction and living together. Ask peeps from Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, Ilorin, Ibadan and even to some extent Lagos they will tell you this, though vast majority of them are in farm settlements and some of them have naturalized that you can't differentiate from the locals.
So, are you saying that there are more ebira people than Igbo people in the SW.

PoliticsRe: Baseless Lies About Property In Igboland by Afam4eva(m): 5:53am On Jun 22, 2017
I just can't imaging the lies that have pervaded this tread. Everyone just keeps lying about some phantom experiences about buying lands in Igboland.

First you have to makeup your mind about your lie. First, you say there's nothing attractive about investing in Igboland and then you turn around and say that they have refused to sell land to you. If there's nothing in Igboland, why then do you want to buy land. Are you building an orphanage?

The truth remains that among the big 3 ethnic groups, it's mainly the Igbos and Hausa/Fulani that invest wherever they go as long as they have the resources to do so. There are thousands of Igbo investments for example in Lagos and thousands in the north.

Yes, SOME Yorubas (I mean some) have some investments outside Yorubaland and outside the capital of Abuja but these investments you can count and i'm not talking about companies such as GLOBACOM and co. I'm talking about small and medium size enterprises. In port-hacourt where i grew up partly, there were loads of Yorubas working in SHELL and most of them did not have their own house in port-hacourt. They stayed in the accomodation provided by shell (Shell camp) at Rumukrushi while some of them rented houses. As soon as they were done with their jobs, off they went to wherever they came from with no recourse to give back to the community or something. And this is port-hacourt, the 3rd most important city we're talking about here. If they can't invest massively in PH while then will they invest in the south-east? I think it's better to argue that the south-east is not viable, atleast to you than to use the cloak of indegenes not selling lands to you. It's a vwery weak argument and like some people have said, if the south-east is not welcoming to strangers. How about the south-south or middle belt? How many houses or investments do you have in places like Calabar, Uyo, Asaba, Warri and co? The very few Yorubas that have houses in the south-east how did they get their own land if Igbos don't sell lands to outsiders. On one side, you say Igbo like money too much, on another part you say someone that likes money sees your money and rejects it because you're not Igbo. Like i said, stick to one lie.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Igbos Want Biafra But Don't Want To Relocate by Afam4eva(m): 4:55am On Jun 22, 2017
Maybe they're waiting for the Biafra to come first and even if they don't want to relocate you can't force them. They'll only become foreigners in Nigeria just like Ghanians.

I don't ever see Edo joining the West in anything. Not in this world.
Ikt's actually more plausible than anything else. Haven't you noticed that Edo state is the only south-south state that's not so fund of the whole Niger Delta stuff. But they could consider a Niger Delta country as well as joining the Yorubas. Now, joining Biafra is definitely never gonna be an option except something drastic happens.

Your case is indeed pathetic.
now listen and listen good.
a. Igbos across the Niger (from anambra to wherever their boundary lie) from time immemorial nine out of ten times will refuse to accept you guys as true Igbo. they say those ones nor be real Igbo.

b. some of your own folks deny the igbos across the Niger saying those ones are "across the niger". we are Delta ibo

If you lived in Delta state for at least 10 years these are arguments and terms you should be familiar with.

so it beggars belief to come here and display crass ignorance and attempt to turn history on its head while spewing insults in the process as if that's the only way y'all know to drive home a point.

you are free to join your brothers across the Niger but remember you are already classified as second class citizens by the same igbos you are here clamoring to join the so called land of the sun and remember also that you will have to leave Delta state because you cannot have your cake and eat it.
a word is enough for the wise
Why are people this silly. Does the land that Anioma are presently your land? What do you people always mean that they should go and join their people in the south-east? Are you saying they should pack their bags and properties and cross the bridge leaving Asaba, Agbor, Ogwashi-ukwu behind? Are some of you inherently daft or just trolling?

Mr Afam, I dont have time to go into a shouting/insulting match with you. Just proceed to understand the meaning of the words you used. Fine the Anthropological definition of Ethnic group and Tribe. It will educate u well enough to the extent that you would not need to look for whom to insult.

In this assertion, The IGBOS whose population is over 40 Million have been labelled one ethnic group, But Cross river(less than 4 million people) alone have over 20 ethnic groups. Why should the SE alone be the geopolitical zone in nigeria that have one ethnic group and the remaining 5 geopolitical zones in nigeria have average of 60 ethnic groups each.

An Ethnic Group is a group of tribes.......Digg it.

Its only in nigeria that each village is an ethnic group... grin
Cross Rivers is a state and not an ethnic group. The tribes.ethnic groups in the state don't speak the same language.
CultureRe: 30 Interesting Facts About Some Nigerian Minority Ethnic Groups by Afam4eva(m): 5:59pm On Jun 21, 2017
PrecisionFx:
Lack of knowledge has made the Nigerian youth to keep using the Word Tribe and Ethnic Group to have the same meaning. All that you have listed here are Tribes found in Nigeria. We have only 3 Ethnic groups in Nigeria and they Are IGBO, HAUSA and YORUBA. The other over 300 Tribes in Nigeria are grouped under the 3 Ethnic groups that i have mentioned.

Tribes make up an ethnic group,China has thousands of Tribes but they have only about 50 Ethnic groups. Please read up Anthropological definitions of Tribe and ethnic group so that you can get a clearer picture.

Good day.
You're the second person that i've encountered making tis kind of senseless assertion. Ethnic groups are usually and hugely related mainly through language and culture. based on your school of thought for example, Edo is Yoruba. Can an Edo person understand Yoruba and vice versa if they made no effort to learn the language? Can an Ibibio perso learn Igbo and vice versa? Can an Igala person communicate with an Hausa person by default?

Which tribe actually owns Warri?

If I may ask, in whose land did the original warri town start from before it expanded to its current boundaries now?
I don't really know why people think a particular tribe must own a city. Warri is pretty much like port-hacourt. In PH, the main port-hacourt town was in the Ijaw area and as the city grew, it spread into the Ikwerre villages and even to some parts of Ogoni land and even Obigbo is considered port-hacourt. So, just like port-hacourt, no tribe can lay claim to warri even though it started out as an Itsekiri enclave.

Yes, he does by law. The father in-law is hinging his right on traditional law.

This is serious, I guess the death of the old man's daughter is his major grouse with his son inlaw. I don't support him marrying a dead person though. As for Yoruba names, the meaning is what matters. My sister has a Yoruba name and she also gave her son a Yoruba name and we are not even Yoruba but the meaning of the name is what counts.
That you accept it doesn't mean others should.
FamilyRe: Banker Accuses Father-in-law Of Abducting, Renaming Son (pics) by Afam4eva(m): 11:11am On Jun 21, 2017
Even though I have reservations about naming your child outside your tribal name but it shouldnt be the business of the father in-law as long as he truly married his daughter. The issue should be whether a marriage happened and not whether an Igbo child has a Yoruba name.

I think anyone group can cite examples as to why they're not this or that. But stereotypes are what they are. It's when a part of a story is picked out and the others thrown in into the bin. I'm sure those who will agree with Yoruba not being cowards will agree with Igbos being lovers of money. It's the same crime, it's just that when you're at the receiving end of the stick you start churning out what proves contrary to the accusation.

You know, this nation forming thing is funny as everyone seems to have an opinion on how they will not join Viagra or how they will form their own Republic. When all is said and done and if this breakup eventually happens, you will be shocked at how things will pan out. Don't be surprised if the entire south forms a republic. Also don't be surprised if the people that have been shout "We are not part of Biafra" fighting for resource control in Biafra. The only people in the Niger Delta that I know for sure will have nothing to do with Biafra are Edging people because they're more politically and somewhat culturally aligned with Yoruba. I would have said the same thing about Urhobos, Isokos and Ijaws in Delta state. It's just that if the Ijaws in Bayelsa and Rivers decide to pitch tent with Biafra, their Keith's and kins in Delta state may have no option. And the Urhobos and almost everybody in Delta south and Central May be inclined to tag along because it's really hard to separate these groups because they're somewhat intertwined. Left for Urhobo and Isoko, they'll rather look westwards with their Edo people in Oodua but these things are not mathematics.

BTW, where in the east do you stay?

I think things are generally cheaper in Ibadan than the East except for things that are produced in a place like Aba.

Apart from being tired of the East, is there any other cogent reason why you want to leave?
