mrjojo: how does it matter to this thread? You made mention of remaining in Ibadan after service and I'm wondering if you were already previously familiar with the terrain. I'm trying to juxtapose the experience of someone familiar with the terrain against that of someone from elsewhere. |
Travel › Re: Relocating To Ibadan; Help With A Nice Location by Afam4eva(m): 3:57pm On Jun 20, 2017 |
mrjojo: Nice and safe neighborhood.
Oluyole estate, bodija, Akobo
Light at Akobo is more regular, though the roads are bad, but they are currently been fixed.
4 bedrooms around this areas should be around, 400 - 500k
5bed rooms 500 -
. BTW, there is a new 5 bedroom duplex in my compound @Akobo Very safe neighborhood and Atleast 19hrs daily electricity.
Ibadan is Lagos without the traffic and bustling, things are cheaper too. If you want a calm, silent life, then Ibadan it is. I served here last year and stayed back. I like it here, Atleast for now.

BTW, minorities are not calculated based on how many million strong they are. You have to compare their population to the majority to know why they're called minorities. Even if a tribe has 100 million people and another tribe has 1 billion, the former is a minority. |

Andoni people are not Ijaws even though they were influenced heavily by the Ijaw. They're also influenced by Ibibio and Ibo depending on which part of Andoni you find yourself. |

I think you're just beating a dead horse. We've been saying these things in bags for decades. The only difference is that things have gotten so bad. Many of these children are the criminals of tomorrow because they're even been rewarded to singing sexually explicit. Evans is a child play compared to what we have on our hands. |
Politics › Re: 10 Most Industrialized States In Nigeria by Afam4eva(m): 9:11pm On Jun 18, 2017 |
When are we going to learn to be objective and put out our arguments based on facts and figures as opposed to tribal or regional inclination. Everyone has spoken as far as which states are the most industrialized but i must give it to the guys that have made a case for Anambra because they're the only ones that have presented facts with pictures to prove their case. You just have to give it up for these Anambra peeps.
Now, to the issue on hand...
Here's my personal list of the most industralized states in Nigeria.
1. Lagos
2. Ogun
3. Anambra
4. Rivers
5. Abia
6. Delta
7. Oyo
8. Kaduna
9. Kano
Some may argue that Ogun state should come before Lagos but i bet to disagree. Granted that a lot of factories and industries have moved to neigbouring Ogun state, the number of industries in Lagos is just too much to ignore. Apart from the multi national industries, other small industries that run into thousands in Lagos will thump whatever any other state has to offer. I think the second position suits Ogun just fine.
Next on the line is Anambra. Like i said, we have to give it up for Anambra because that's probably the only state without any form of incentives from either closeness to a major commercial center which Ogun enjoys to the location of oil industries which rivers and Delta enjoy. Infact, it's one of the few states who have done it all by themselves. Sames goes for Aba with the Aba industrial cluster.
Pls never again should Imo and Osun make this kind of list. It's an aberration. |

Only Nigeria brewery will swallow all those industries in Oyo state I'm not here to argue with you. Enugu is not really an industralized city. Oyo is ahead of Enugu as long as the presence of industries are concerned. |

Politics › Evans, His Crime And His Family by Afam4eva(op): 10:06pm On Jun 17, 2017 |
I'm not here to blow grammar but this Evans episode got me thinking about the kind of country that we live in. Evans is a kidnapper and has killed people in process. Even if he never killed anyone, he's a criminal and should be met with the full weight of the law. I propose death by firing squad but life imprisonment with hard labour would do. I hate criminals with a passion. Now i heard some scally wags on twitter are calling for his release. I won't blame them, i blame the police for creating a hero out of a common criminal. How's he different from other kidnappers that have been nabbed in time past? Is it because he looks fresh or is a billionaire? If we have people calling for the release of this man, it means our problem in this country is multi facteted. The youths are the new problem. They're not the leaders of tomorrow but the thieves and criminals of today and tomorrow. Now, to Evans's wife. So far, i don't think she's complicit if there's no proof that she indeed used her account to collect money for him like is being speculated in some quarters. Personally i don't trust some wives of criminals. They are very good actors. If she's found guilty, she should face the law... But for the children, pls and pls, they're innocent and should be protected and rehabilitated by the appropriate authorities. Ok Bye |

Oxtonguy: Ogun is industrialized than Lagos not to talk of rivers I think this is one argument that i will want us to trach out at some point. Yes, Ogun state is pretty industralized because of it's closeness to lagos but i still feel there are mor einductries in Lagos. It's just that they have been swallowed by the urbanization that it's hard to notice unlike Ogu state where you could easily name Agbara and some other industrial estates. |
