Of course commenters will tell you to go and learn Igbo. smiley
Lol grin I was expecting this. But you can't run away from the truth. That will be aneasier route for the OP. I actually learned Igbo by learning Ikwerre first. but right now, i can't even speak ikwerre and barely understand it.
CultureRe: How I Was Banned From Speaking Igbo - Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani by Afam4eva(m): 8:34pm On Jan 06, 2017
It's a common practice among Igbo parents to encourage their wards to pick English over Igbo. Not just pick, but to discard the Igbo language altogether. For some it's more subtle while for others, there's a concerted effort to make sure Igbo or any form of vernacular is not spoken in the home. For those kind of parents, i say, shame to them.

I believe no one has monopoly of violence; whether man or woman. If a man cheats on his wife and she is mad at him and hits him; then he should not hit her of course. But if in an arguement she hit first, then he should hit back.
My motto has always been that people should not do unto others what they don't want done to them. if a lady slap s guy, the guy has every right to return the gesture. All this talk about how a man must not touch a woman is pure crap. How about, a human shouldn't beat another human being, whether man or woman. Everybody should respect themselves.

Na the kind thing wey dey tire me about America. Someone will just carry gun in public and open fire. He's not an armed robber, neither is he a kidnapper nor a higher killer. He's just screwed in the head.

and hope you will get pregnant, share the morning sicknesses and monthly cramps, take of the kids, cook our meals (morning afternoon evening),go to the market, make sure the house is always looking neat, put the kids to bed, get ready to wake up in the middle of the night wen the baby of the house screams and call for attention, drink hot and peppery water with us after child birth...hope you are ready for all this and many more Mr Op
You don't seem to get the Ops point. Why fight for equality when we know we were built differently. What we should be fighting for is equal opportunities for everyone that is qualified and not for some feminazis trying to take the position of the man when it suits them.

Does asking for a fair treatment makes one a feminist?

Sadly, that is the case in Nigeria.
Can you define what you mean by fair treatment. Does it mean the same thing as equality? How would you define equality?

It's easier said than done. I am not Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa yet I am a Nigerian. Will I then be forced to dump my language and adopt that of another that won't even help me in any way?

As a Yoruba, assuming you are one, will you start speaking Igbo if it is made an official language?

Meanwhile, don't think this idea hasn't already been considered. Northerners have tried forcing Hausa on all of us as an official language several times but it didn't work.

It's easier said than done bro.
I really don't understand how people reason. the guy that you quoted is suggesting that one language be chosen because he's hoping that his language will be the chosen one. I think every language is as important as the other. I cannot drop my language to speak to accept another Nigerian language. Instead, make we continue to dey speak English till Jesus comes.

25years in Lagos no problem.

went to port Harcourt lodged around eagle cement and got robbed.
Over 25 years in Lagos and i've never been robbed. meanwhile, everybody i have come in contact with has one story of being robbed or the other. I just think it depends on luck and your movement.

Your logic is sound.

However, I wouldn't take the risk. I've heard and seen so many stories and events to make me believe that PH is very insecure. It's not like any other place in Nigeria is safer but I would better my odds by staying in a location where I feel safe.
I actually feel safer in Lagos than a lot of other places because i use the about 20 million people here as human shield grin grin grin

Chineke Nna onye Onitsha. How on earth does a one bedroom flat go for 300k? Was it built with gold? On the average Lagos is not that expensive.

Well, you have a point. If you don't look for them, they won't see you. Except, of course, you walk into their fracas zones, get hit by stray bullets, or become a victim of opportunity strikes.

In any case, the chances of such happening is on a higher percentage in PH than in Lagos.
Lagos seems less dangerous because there are so many people here and you may not notice a lot that is going on. For instance, someone gunned down somewhere in Alagbado may not make news to someone in Lekki or Ikeja. But because PH is not as big, it seems as if everywhere is a war zone. Lagos has it's own problems which PH does not have.

I think South African Airways are the best as far as Africa is concerned. never had problems with there. I always get there less than 2 hours before take off. If Ethiopian airline can behave like this then i wonder what we should be expecting from the soon to be introduced Nigerian airline.

PoliticsRe: It's Time To Change Enugu State's Slogan by Afam4eva(m): 8:09am On Jan 06, 2017
I don't care much about the current slogan. I'm just worried that we lay so much emphasis in things that are not relevant or atleast are not of utmost important. Imagine someone saying that by changing the slogan, development will spread to every part of Enugu.

if you think changing the slogan to "The Cashew state" then no wahala.
CelebritiesRe: Serena Williams: White Men Treat Women Better Then Then Black Men by Afam4eva(m): 8:05am On Jan 06, 2017
The thread is making it seem like she made a generalized statement whereas she was speaking on her own personal experience dating black and white men. if she thinks White men have treated her better then there's nothing wrong with the statement. I'll only have a problem had she said that "White men treat women better than black men". Though i understand why some black women make those kind of statements. It's a cultural thing.

has he finally reasoned his life?

Did he watch the game against Algeria and thought "oh boy, true true these people fit qualify for World Cup and I go make the squad"?

Did he look through a list of Europe's best players and come to the conclusion that he's a small fish in a big pond?

Did he read the big moves our players are making and feel, "this could be me, but I no dey play international football"?

Or did he finally decide that his agent is talking bullocks and shouldn't be taken seriously if he wants a great career?

Anyway whatever it was, I'm happy he made this decision on time, before he would have become another Onuorah singing the blues

He should go and collect junior boys form from Iwobi and Kelechi
That guy should not be allowed anywhere near the super eagles. I hate players who look down on Nigeria.

God will punish the OP. That's not even Nigeria to start with. You think you can just find an old video that is atleast 5 years old and put a new label on it and prosper. if God does not punish you this year, i don't know when.
