Why I'm I just seeing this thread. I'm happy that for the first time I'm seeing an Anambra thread with loads of pictures on it. I can see some progress made in Onitsha in beautifying the city. Though a lot still needs to be done but we're on course. I'm highly disappointed in those that have made it a duty to derail this thread. Do you people even have shame? |
APC are a smart bunch. As much as they seek to compensate everyone that wa instrumental to their success story of which Amaechi played a pivotal role, they are being very smart about it. Amaechi is definitely not the kind of person you will make the secretary of the federation as posited in the news article. He's too boisterous and opinionated. He will still be rewarded with a very important ministry or government parastatal. |
adamskutty: Obiagelli:Actually, the logo still looks ugly But i must say they got other things right. |
Lala247:I think women tend to pour acid more than men. |
This is one of those topics you see and not know whether to comment or to cry. The brazen idiocy being exhibited by some politicians leaves a lot to be desired. Even more commercial cities like New York, London, Tokyo, Beijing and the lot have no ministry created specially for them but this politician without scuples deems it fit for a ministry to be created for Lagos. If Buhari is who they say he is, then i see know reason why he should not lock up whoever brougth this suggeestion as soon as he assumes office. |
passion007:It was a mistake. I thought it was the Uwani in Awkunanaw. Didn't realize it was another local government. |
arowolo:Why does this username sound familiar? |
miqos02:I've been very busy but i've been monitoring posts and occasionally posting. |
JuanDeDios:it's not like he won't do well at EFCC but the fact that he's doing well currently in INEC is the reason why he should remain. Someone like Wole Soyinka will make sense as an EFCC head. |
This makes so much sense. However, i think he should remain in INEC until he decides to call it quits personally. I don't see how changing a working system will solve anything. He has experienced the worst possible scenario as an INEC chairman and in the future, i don't think any machination will move him. I say he remains INEC head. There are other men of integrity like him in Nigeria that can head EFCC. |
kandiikane:The comment i made was actually a snide comment and should not be taken seriously. I actually don't think all black women have issues or let's say this issue is not necessarily bad. it's just a perspective. Black women tend to be more confrontational than women from other races and it's not necessarily a bad thing. it only becomes bad when exibited like seen in those youtube videos. |
Bluetooth2:maybe because he said it, we shouldn't have gone to the polling unit. The way some of you talk makes you look like kids. Like WTF? Prophet Obasanjo said it and it happened? Really? |
I was actually waiting for someone to say this so that i can nip it in the bud before it escalates into another brand of delusion. No, Obasanjo is not a strong pillar of his house let alone PDP. Jonathan lost because he failed and it was visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. Obasanjo's defection had little or no effect. |
This one that every tom dick and harry is congratulating up and down, are they still going to go to jail? |
Once again i congratulate Buhari for emerging Nigeria's new president and also Jonathan for conceding. Both are African records. Now, i've been seeing comments about Igbos flying all around from nairaland to social media sites and it's really pitiful that Nigerians can descend to such levels of hypocrisy. I for one have wondered why Igbos believe so much in Jonathan. it actually beats me. But i realized that's the beauty of democracy. You never just understand why people support the other candidate and you probably will never understand. They also don't understand why you're supporting your own candidate. it's a two way street. My major grouse is the fact that people are tainting the support of majority of Igbos for Jonathan as a tribal thing and i'm like WTF. How can it be tribal even when the person they're supporting is not even Igbo. It's hypocritical that Buhari swept the North just like he did in 2011 and nobody is accusing them of tribalism considering that Buhari is hausa/Fulani but you're accusing a tribe that supports someone who's not their tribesman for tribalism. You can accuse these people for anything but never tribalism. They reserve the unapologetic right to support who they deem fit and it's not anyone's business. Congrats Buhari |
kandiikane:Of course we're saying the same thing. It's the environment. And this is not a comparison with other races. We know it's a general phenomenum but it's more common in poor neighborhoods which black unfortunately dominate. |
pashaun:Yeah, but not as much as women. And women should be quarreling and not fighting ![]() |
Ngakwe Aren't the results still being announced? Why the hurry? |
beloved2000:I'm not talking about myself. I'm only highlighting the reason why some men cheat. Same goes for women who cheat. But for women this does not always ring true. |
The same reason why we switch our cable television from CNN to National Geographic. It's not because we don't like CNN but because we love variety and want to explore elsewhere after which we will return to CNN. |
aflyingbird:I beg to disagree. Anyways, i prefer my black women sha. |
babyosisi:I'm just stating what a lot of black guys think and what i've kinda noticed. Though it does not apply to all black women but a of of them. |
babyosisi:What they're simply saying is that white women can act like a dummy. You know black men love women that do whatever they say unlike black women who always has an opinion. |
I was just watching one of my favorite youtube videos where these black women quarell and fight. Those are extreme behaviors of black women. An average black woman has issues. |
He said he won his Local Government and not his ward. |
Jarus:Despite the short of funds, he still campaigned massively in the North. We're saying the same thing. Wouldn't it had made sense for him to campaign in places where he least popular than places where he is very popular and would be voted for whether or not he campaigns. His campaign in the south but nothing but abysmal. I saw him in the Port-hacourt and it looked like it was a local government chairman was campaigning. he sure disrespected the south in 2011. |
Jarus:I was never pro Jonathan but was always coming at the APC. I may have said some good things about Jonathan likewise Buhari. So, no one can accuse me of being pro anything. But it's who i end up voting for that matters and i have never voted for Jonathan. |
safarigirl:The fact that i prefer a Buhari which i voted for in 2011 when Jonathan was a popular candidate does not mean that i require everyone else to do the same. My sister voted for Jonathan yesterday and i won't cast aspersion on her for doing so. It's her choice. She has reasons for doing so. We vote for candidates based on our assessment and understanding of them. We have our preferences obviously and that is why the Yorubas will revere an Awolowo to high heavens and the Igbos may not or the fact that Igbos will revere an Ojukwu and the Yoribas and Hausa will not. It's not because either party can't see the truh but because either party are looking at issues from their own prism based on their experiences. You may have seen something in Buhari that another person can't simply see and may see in Jonathan. If Buhari was considered the better candidate then there will be no need for an election. We will just make him president and go and rest. But elections are necessarily because the powers that be know that people like people for different reasons and what is good for Mr A may not be good for Mr B. I also find it strange that you are trying to use the fact that Igbos live all over the country to blackmail them in voting for candidates from those parts. is this what it has come to. That we cannot vote a candidate we like just because we want to make other people happy. Chineke Nna. |
safarigirl:They dislike each other yet they're tribalistic. I;ll like to learn from your wealth of knowledge. |
safarigirl:The fact that you're Igbo doesn't make you any different from Non-Igbos who cast aspersions on Igbos. It seems it's now cool for anyone including Igbos to come after their own in order to be seen as cool and progressive. Na only us fit use our own hand destroy ourselves. Nne, Jisike. |
It's actually funny that someone thinks Igbos are tribalistic. If they were as tribalistic as being touted then they would be voting for an Igbo man for presidency year in year out. Where exactly is the tribalism coming from? I don't know. Even the most Igbotic man at a time could not win the east and you still accuse them of tribalism. The same people shouting tribalism are the same people that will say Igbos are not united. it seems yo me that that when Igbos don't do your biding, you choose a nomenclature to associate them with. |
