Patrinus: Tucano ko tuscani ni.....we can't even boast of an outdated F16
Countries are buying F32 raptors and we can't even boast of F15 or F16.... simply too bad! Defence decisions are taken strategically not by emotions gotten from movies. Based on cost and other factors, the Tucanos are strategically more important to Nigeria at this time. The plane is especially good for training and security, surveillance, reconnaissance and counter-insurgency missions. The armaments the plane carries are quite impressive. The plane will be a good economic/strategic choice to patrol the vast areas of land in the NE with very modern offensive weapons. What do you think is the cost of blazing an F15 or F16 to fight an imaginary enemy? Are they not primarily for aerial combat? Are we planning to combat boko haram in the air or from the air? you lots will just be throwing words carelessly up and down. |

I never said he will need s/s or s/e votes to win or did I? ,or didn't you read the OP's statement,25% in 24 states. Well, my reply was in response to your earlier comment quoted above that he wont get 25% in the SE/SS. I simply reiterated that he does not even need that for win. As I alluded earlier, he will get the needed 25% in 24 states from the NW, NE, NC and SW states. Buhari is more popular than Dankwambo in all parts of the North. |

aribisala0: He needs to get 25% of the votes in 24 out of 36 States
I think He Will Struggle in the SE/SS
1 Abia 2 Anabra 3. Ebonyi 4Enugu 5 Imo
6 Akwa Ibom 7 Bayelsa 8 Cross River 9 Delta 10 Edo 11 Rivers
I think he will get Edo = 1/11
Remaining 23 from 25
Middle Belt 12. Benue No chance 13 Kwara ( Hmm) I don't see this 14. Taraba Again no Chance
15 Kogi Riggqable 16 Nassarawa Probable 17 Plateaua Riggable Riggable 18 Niger Babangida's state That leaves the NW and SW and NE 19 Sokoto 20 Kebbi 21 Zamfara 22 Kaduna 23 Katsina 24 Kano
I think these are all riggable
25 Adamawa 26 Borno 27 Gombe 28 Yobe 29 Bauchi 30 Taraba very doubtful
think he will get these too
Once again he needs the SW . He needs every single state. I do not see this happening in 31Ekiti and 32Ondo BUT 33 Lagos he will get
34 Ogun 35Oyo 36 Osun These 3 states I think will be shared You Buhari will win the following states in the NC Nassarawa Niger Kwara Plateau FCT In the SW, he'll win: Osun Oyo Ogun Ondo Lagos and Ekiti (if APC wins the coming gubernatorial election) Excluding Ekiti if APC loses the election. In the SS, Buhari will win Edo. In the North East and North West, he'll clear it all. In the SE, he will not win any state. This above is the result of the 2019 election. Here you are at a Yoruba wedding in Yorubaland, waiting to be served free food and drink along with everyone else despite your Igbo origins, and the one thing that comes to your mind is how Yorubas hate Igbos, simply because one woman (allegedly) mentioned Biafra! For all one knows, she probably didn't even mention the word, and you only imagined she did because of your tendency to project onto others the blind ethnic hatred you clearly harbor within your own heart.
I pity the poor families who extended their generosity to a snake in the grass like you, only to have their open-mindedness rewarded with vile slanders of the foulest sort. Had they acted in line with your fantasies about how Yoruba people must be, you'd never have been allowed onto the premises in the first place, and everyone would have been the better off for it in your case, as you are obviously the type to see malice in anything Yoruba people could ever do for you. Well said. He didn't even consider it that a lot of people in the SW equate biafra to civil war. Anytime some hear biafra, it's only the war that comes to their mind. If the woman indeed said that, her prayer is simply saying war will not come to the couple. Why can't his reasoning follow the least hateful assumption?? |

A popular line used by people of means in Nigeria to escape justice. Moreover, the case is between her and the state. Not the family. Manslaughter: Ibinabo Fiberesima gets N2m bail – Punch Newspapers http://www.punchng.com/manslaughter-ibinabo-fiberesima-gets-n2m-bail/
Justice Oseji said he was inclined to exercise discretion in Fiberesima’s favour in view of her health and because there was no record that she had jumped bail in the past.
The judge said it would amount to injustice if after Fiberesima had been kept in prison, the Supreme Court later, after about three to four years, decided that the five year jail term imposed on her should be set aside.
Justice Sidi Bage, who presided over the proceedings, aligned himself with the lead judgment but the third member of the panel, Justice Y.B. Nimpar, dissented.
Justice Nimpar said the ill health grounds upon which Fiberesima anchored her application for bail was untenable.
The judge noted that there was no record before the court that Fiberesima had suffered any complication since February that she underwent surgery for breast cancer and April when she brought her application for bail.
Besides, Justice Nimpar said there were adequate medical facilities in the prison to cater to her health needs, adding that the prison hospital could also give her referral for consultancy in the event that she has any condition that could not be taken care by the prison hospital. |

And unless you have never been involved in one, will you judge her harshly. What will 200Milion do for the family? Bring back their dead brother? I think having fame and wealth cones with a great risk in this country. Cos if Ibinabo has been a poor danfo driver, this case would have dragged this long? You want her to confess to drunk driving and she says NO. that means she is arrogant? So, the sister is the one telling the truth? oh well their case, their life. She is walking free today because she is not a danfo driver. Otherwise she'd have been in jail. Have you ever heard that someone convicted by the appeal court of a crime is on bail?? In fact, her case is the first of such I'll hear of. Which Danfo driver will get such benefit? So stop being sentimental. Her status has equally given her some benefits. Cases usually take long in Nigeria. Go and read the Punch report on Supreme Court of the dead, dying and living cases part I, II and III and you'll be shocked how long it takes the Nigerian judiciary to complete a case from start to finish at the Supreme Court. The report says it takes btw 15 to 30 years on the average. |

HAH: By Uche Anichukwu
I have followed the mixed opinions on the comments by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu on how very difficult it will be to recall Senator Dino Melaye from the Senate. Some claim that the 1999 as amended does not envisage any role for debate in the entire process. However, this position is constitutionally flawed.
Anichukwu is an Aide to the Deputy President of the Senate Biased opinion. You still don't get it right? Once INEC completes their process and it is not in favour of Dino, police will move in and ensure his shadow doesn't get close to the National Assembly. Before all the cases will get resolved, the 8th senate would have been over. |
Politics › Re: 10 Steps To Recall A Senator In Nigeria: Senate President Performs Last Function by agabusta: 7:37am On Apr 28, 2018 |
HAH: there is no where in the process above where inec withdraws certificate of return, there role only ends at issuing the senate president certificate of recall, it is senate president that will finally effect recall at plenary or otherwise Either ways, the issuance of a certificate of recall presupposes that his certificate of return has been invalidated. It is same thing. |
Politics › Re: 10 Steps To Recall A Senator In Nigeria: Senate President Performs Last Function by agabusta: 7:22am On Apr 28, 2018 |
HAH: the inec cannot declare the seat vacant until the last process of recall is done which is asking the senator to step down, from the step listed inec will only send certificate of recall to the senate president, it is only when the senate president decides to do his role that the process is complete and a bye election is conducted Read the process again. Once INEC withdraws his certificate, he is no longer a senator. It is after INEC withdraws his certificate that they will inform the Senate President that somebody over there with you is no longer a senator. INEC withdrawing his certificate comes before the role played by the Senate President. Once his certificate is withdrawn, legally speaking, he is no longer a senator and can be barred from the hallowed chambers. In this particular scenario, the power of recall is with INEC, not the Senate President. Section 68 (1) (h) of the Constitution (as amended) provides that a member of either of the Houses shall vacate his seat if “the President of the Senate or, as the case may be, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, receives a certificate under the hand of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission stating that the provisions of Section 69 of this Constitution have been complied with in respect of the recall of a member”. |

Clinton9000: I'll cut off my dickk if Saraki ratifies the Maleye's recall. It will never happen, and all senators will reject the move except Tinubu's wife, whose Husband and ACN chieftains are behind Maleye's ordeal. The senators are not mugus. There is what we can precedent. If this is allowed to happen, Buhari and his clique will use it to even recall Saraki himself...hahaha. DON'T FOOLED, THIS WILL NEVER EVER HAPPEN! HAH: he will simply put it in his drawer tell everyone that he will to it at the right time and may be do it on the last plenary of the 8th senate, this is because the constitution did not stipulate a timeframe for the recall Once INEC withdraws his certificate of return, the police, DSS and other security agencies have the legal backing to declare him persona non grata in and around the National Assembly complex. And with his recent altercation with the police, they'll gleefully carry out the action to the letter. Don't forget that all the security forces manning the National Assembly report to the Executive. INEC will also Elect a new senator to that position and issue a certificate of return to the newly elected senator. The new senator will equally present himself at the National Assembly to be sworn in as the senator for Kogi West brandishing his INEC issued certificate for all to see. There is no where in the constitution that says the Senate has to ratify the recall process. As per the snippet posted above, the Senate President will show him the door. Either he is shown or not, does not invalidate the recall. Either ways, it's a lose lose for Dino. What makes it more complicated for him is the fact that Saraki is reluctant to declare open war with Buhari. Saraki is being careful and it's his foot soldiers like Dino that will bite the dust. As it is, Dino is on his own! Till all the legal battles that may arise from the recall, and the others he is presently facing are over, he'll be effectively kept away from the National Assembly. And in essence making whoever he has issues with to have achieved their objectives. |

An important bill like that cannot be passed into law without a lot of people knowing. Moreover, an Act of parliament is an inferior law to the constitution. |
