PoliticsRe: Opeyemi Bamidele Shot During Fayemi's Campaign (Photos) by agabusta: 7:36pm On Jun 01, 2018
seunmsg:
This is totally unacceptable. The fact that the mobile policeman who shot MOB is said to be a fake policeman even makes it more appalling. Politics should never be taken to this extent.

This violence was clearly orchestrated by Fayemi's opponents and Fayose is the first suspect. I hope the Nigeria police force will fully investigate the violence and bring down the full wrath of the law on anybody found culpable. Heads must roll for this heinous crime.

*Edited*

Based on information I just received from Ekiti, Fayemi was actually the target of the fake policeman and not MOB who was standing in front of him. This is a clear assassination attempt and Fayemi was the target.
Based on the way Fayose and his cohorts have stormed the internet to push the story that the policeman was on the detail of Governor Akeredolu is even suspicious. They are already everywhere claiming the policeman is on the detail of Akeredolu.

PoliticsRe: Omo-agege Will Be Allowed To Resume – Senate by agabusta: 5:28am On May 15, 2018
Metuh:
It's not about any rubbish power battle

It's about obeying Court judgments and orders that Buhari can never do.
Nigerian politicians are not disposed to obeying any unfavorable judgement or verdict.

It's simply because they don't have a choice or when the instrumentality of enforcing the judgment is with the other side.

The Senate is toothless over an Omo-Agege backed with a valid court order and the police. In fact, the police is seriously waiting for an opportunity to mess any of them that cross the line up.
PoliticsRe: What Is The Reason For Non-Availability Of Prepaid Meter? by agabusta: 8:57am On May 14, 2018
EgunMogaji:
"From the benefit of hindsight and historically, most distribution of power sectors realised that when you introduce prepaid meters, revenue drops. Because it is prepaid, people get conscious of consumption and they thereby reduce usage. Then we discovered that prepayment leads to more bypassing. If we meter the distribution transformers, at least we can audit and know what energy has gone to a particular area and from there we can then see the bills that have not been issued. We will know that within that locality there is an issue and we can then send our team to go and look at what is happening. We have decided to do a mix: post-paid metering, prepaid metering and also metering the distribution transformers. By this, we will be able to have real case scenarios."

shocked
If people get conscious of what they are consuming and reduce usage, will that not make power available for other users?? Or is there any idle load that is not being mopped up at some other areas? Because as far as everyone can remember, enough is not being produced.
BusinessRe: Money Laundering: CBN To Sack Non-complaint Bank’s Board, Staff by agabusta: 8:16am On May 14, 2018
aaronson:
This doesn't even make sense by CBN.

How would the banks know large funds coming in are all from money laundry proceeds. I could as well tell the banks am a large scale real estate investor and still pay the excess charges so long as my money gets deposited.

So policing the banks by CBN in this regard is like a way of making them pay fine unjustly and nobody to police the CBN.

Abuse of power by CBN.
The banks does not need to do anything special, other than notify the authorities of the volume of your transactions.

A lot of banks dont report such transactions as required because they are also complicit or want to remain in the good books of the launderer so as to retain the funds in their system.
PoliticsRe: Senate Invited IGP Because Of Senator Dino Melaye, Not…, Nigeria Police Insists by agabusta: 4:15am On May 13, 2018
The IG needs to swallow his pride.

He his not superior to the representatives of the people.

No matter how he tries to wiggle his way out, he is threading on dangerous grounds and may be used as a sacrificial lamb eventually.

Saraki's Senate is one of the most dictatorial and meddlesome Senate that is always dishing out summons based on their mood, but that is not an excuse to set a precedence for the demeaning of that institution.

Now that the Senate has dropped Melaye from the list of items to be discussed, he needs to honour the invitation and stop being argumentative.

A lot of people dont like Fayemi. He should go and sit down and let Segun Oni deliver the needed victory for APC.

Are you not in Nigeria? Political appeals are fast tracked.

The Senate is setting themselves up with the appeal.

An appeal court pronouncement on the matter will make it a settled matter, that the Senate cannot suspend anybody beyond 14 days.

Buhari is a very vindictive human being..he is still annoyed at the yaradua's family..Buhari was a senior to musa yaradua (yaradua brother) at the time of muritala's death, while danjuma was the most senior followed by obj...danjuma refused to be the president and asked obj to be which he rejected...naturally it was suppose to be Buhari since obj and danjuma refused the slot cos of known tribal acrimony but danjuma was not disposed to Buhari cos of his extreme type of behaviours but instead went for yaradua who was a junior to Buhari...yaradua was promoted with double or even tripple promotion to justify the seat while obj was made his prime minister while Buhari was shipped away to be a governor so as to be far from the seat of power.... The game of power in this country have been occultic and Buhari was never a saint....

If Buhari cannot put a 5 year old S Guard Mercedes in good shape despite all the large maintenance budget available then how do you guys even expect him to fix the Nation... in just less than 3 years Buhari has reduced the presidential S guards from one of the neatest and most pristine S classes in Africa to a shabby dull looking car with scratches every where ...The poor state of the presidential ride under Buhari says a lot about how everything Buhari touches must just rot .
You must always have something to say. The NASS replaced all their new cars with brand new ones, now we have a president that decided to conserve some money and still use what was handed over to him by his predecessors and you still have something negative to say about that.

Land is controlled by the state na.....

Fg no get land na!
God bless you!

I don't understand why people like playing mind games. The entire land in the state is owned by the state Govt.

The land in possession of the air force is the one the governor and the a private company is greedily looking at.

It is not appropriate for such lands to be given to a private company. Another govt will come now and be giving them problems.

The state Govt should give them land and not pass the buck to the Fed govt.

The best the FG can do is to lease them the land.

I know you guys love to bash anything Nigerian but here's a picture of their own equivalent of Chief of Defense Staff (Secretary of Defense) Mad Dog Mattis. I can bet that he dresses like this when he goes for foreign diplomatic meetings as well.
The man in the pix, Joseph Dunford is the Chairman of Joint Chiefs, the equivalent of Olonisakin, who is Nigeria's chief of Defence staff.

Mad Dog Mattis is the Secretary of Defence, the equivalent of our Minister for Defence. But in the US, the Secretary of Defence has command authority over the military, which the minister of defence dont have in Nigeria.
