Fighter Pilot: South Africa is the biggest manufacturer of UAV's, they even sell them and if you want to add more to your just only 12 UAV's, you can put your order. Judge for yourself.

America is the largest UAV drone manufacturer in the world dude, and Israel is second position after America.

America has 7,000 UAV/drones and your weblink does not say anywhere that south africa is biggest manufacturer of drones/UAV....419 man grin

south africa manufactures artillery guns but has only 120 units.

nigeria does not manufacture artillery guns but has 660 units.

how many times will i school you that manufacturing does not mean your military has all those weapons paid for and in service kept in your armoury ? dont be a dunce that has to repeat the same class every year grin

Hezron Lorraine: Come 2018,The Nigerian Navy would be not to far to the league of the P-5(US,Russia,China,France,UK) Navies of the world with the rate at which it is progressing.
very sure, our submarines and mini aircraft carrier/LPD should have arrived by that 2018. we already have one of the world's top 10 largest navies in terms of number of vessels, and nigeria has the biggest navy in africa now based on vessels number.

Hello,how's the thread going?
threads fine, we just updated, nigerian navy's lynx anti-submarine helicopters are coming back from reserve storage, heading to europe for full upgrade and modernization to return home around march 2014 and likely to be mounted on our 2 new stealth warships from china.

NNS Aradu too is going abroad for a major refit and capacity improvement.

about 8 other nigerian navy warships are in line for full reactivation, NNS Anyam, Siri, Damisa, etc

back to full capacity world standard blue water power for nigerian navy.

Mike..ZA:
The Gripen has 120km radar, after SAAF acquires the A-Darter next year. A radar BVR missile will be acquired. The Gripen has a better EW suit. The Tanzania air force F-7 are more advanced than those of Nigeria, which use........WAIT FOR IT............FRENCH RADAR!!!!!!!!
south african Gripen jet has a 25km range missile, the 120km or maybe even 90km radar is wasted grin

radar does not shoot down the enemy aircraft, only a missile does the job.

there is NO source that says south africa will surely buy a BVR missile, then what if nigeria too buys it ? anybody can buy, not only you.

Tanzanian F-7 jet has chinese radar range 30km and outdated PL-7 missile with range about 14km

Nigerian F-7 jet has Italian radar range 57km and ultra-modern P-L9C with missile range 22km.

how do you rank Tanzanian F-7 jets as superior to Nigerian F-7 jet ?

see why i call you papa ajasco ? grin

i am still trying to find the 3 sea drones USV janes dfense said we purchased from israel, whether delivered yet or not.

CraigB: Failure looks like this:

Nigeria: ICC Declares Conflict in N'eastern Nigeria Civil War

http://allafrica.com/stories/201311251465.html

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has determined that the conflict between Boko Haram insurgents and the security forces in northern-eastern Nigerian is a civil war.

In a report released at the weekend from the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) of the ICC titled: "Report on Preliminary Examination Activities 2013", which focused on conflicts, genocide and crimes against humanity in 10 countries, including Nigeria, ICC said after a careful review of the situation, the violence in Nigeria qualified as an armed conflict of non-international character.

CraigB: No, he did not.

He said Mandela could have been listened to by Boko Haram.

Stop lying. You were caught with your pants down - hating South Africa and a universal hero. That's why you're now writing this long story of rubbish.

You cannot produce the red.

Liar.

And Mandela is loved even by the majority of the community that the victims came from. Love wins.

Your hatred, lies and jealousy lose.
thousands of nigerians have voiced out to boko haram, including prominent nigerian elder statesmen, traditional rulers, and international icons of both christian and muslim religions.

why should boko haram listen to mandela instead of prominent nigerian muslim leaders whose religion boko haram claims to be defending ?

@fighterpilot's comment insinuates that mandela's brain works better than that of 160 million nigerians and so we need him to solve our problems.

i have enough common sense to 'read in between the lines' when anyone writes and tries to 'cover up' his real intentions.

why did south africa not export its mandela to Congo DRC so that M23 rebels can listen to him some years ago and stop the civil war there ?
south africa chose to send its army there under UN forces coalition, why not send mandela instead ?

why send south african army to CAR instead of sending mandela to talk to Seleka rebels ?

now its nigeria's turn then a south african says mandela is the solution to our problem with boko haram.

see, i dont care how much the world respects nelson mandela, he is not bigger than nigeria. i am a nigerian first before i can say i am a fan of mandela.

loyalty to my nation first, other nations and their heroes come second.

my brain is not dull like yours, so mind your own business, you this thread derailing fake lawyer !

.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 6:23am On Dec 08, 2013
Henry120: I second what you've said. I'd also like to add that, although it's fun to take a few jabs at each other , we should as adults learn to keep at a minimal.

It makes no sense constantly derailing this thread over and over . All discussions should be military centered. if there isn't a military related topic to discuss, instead of throwing muds all over the place, we can all take a break until there is a military topic to discuss.

Ignore craigb and his senseless posts.
agreed, but there is no way 20 men will fight at the river side and nobody will be stained with muddy waters...unless the 20 men were not truly fighting.

there is an indirect link between a nations military might and....

its economic strength (to wage a long war)

its technological advancement (to overcome an arms embargo and source cheaper weapons home made)

its literacy rate and education (to train civilians to become soldiers in the shortest possible time)

its level of infrastructural development (to support local arms industry and sustain civilian populace)

its mineral wealth reserves (to trade by barter for new weapons and rebuild the economy after a long war)

its medical advancement (to keep wounded civilians and soldiers alive in war)

all these and more, affect the real military power any nation can be said to possess, relative in comparison to other countries.

this thread is a slaughter house. only the tough will be able to withstand its presssures.

i agree no derailment, yet this topic is multifaceted and cannot be defined from the angle of weapons and soldiers only.

the battle continues

Nigeria27: WTF are you talking about man Mandela was fighting for justice boko haram is fighting for ..... i dont even know what there fighting for anymore south africa has alot of good people and heros but not more then any other countries just becuase the ANC was violent doesn't mean there wernt doing right. was malcolm x wrong because he was being violent were the allies wrong for being violent stop letting this stupid hate for south africa mess up your mind its making us nigerians look stupid. i mean no disrespect agaugust
well, you quoted me out of context, you did not fully follow the trail of comments between @fighterpilot and @agaugust.

he commented that mandela is the only man that can help nigeria settle the boko haram problem.

if that is not an insult to you as a nigerian, it is an insult to me and about 160 million other nigerians.

on terrorism, yes anyone who unrepentant, carries out acts of terror directly or by proxy of members representing his organization which he leads, has become a terrorist by the dictionary definition of the word.

mandela leads ANC, and his followers bombed civilians in south africans and killed them.

there is no way to justify a wrong being done for a just cause, it is still wrong by the law of humanity.

the photo i posted is from south africa and it shows the dead people from what the photo called and quoted as "mandela's bomb".

i did not create the photo and the quote, it is made and published in south africa, so it is their problem not mine.

i owe no one any apology, i dont have to be liked by everybody. a man is a man if he is bold enough to speak out what he believes in.

the south africans insulted nigeria by telling us that mandela is more sensible than the whole of our nation's 160 million people.

sorry bros, i dont really bother about whose side you are on. i am not on nairaland to look for friends. what i have written, i have written.

thanks

CraigB: Big Joke!

The MoU was signed as far back as March. Meanwhile, naai-geria has no electricity. And you want to talk about nuclear.

And your Canadian-based engineer said "I believe Naai-geria can". Just an opinion.

You are pathetic.
nigeria already has one chinese built nuclear reactor since 2004, the russian built nuclear reactor is only a second and bigger one....dunce grin

"Furthermore, in year 2004, Nigeria had a Chinese-origin Nuclear Research Reactor (NIRR) installed at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. The successful operation of the facility had demonstrated to the international community Nigeria’s capacity to regulate a critical assembly. Similarly, in the areas of emergency response, NNRA is said to have acquired a mobile vehicle based equipped with facilities for Emergency Radiation System for timely response to any radiological cases/accident. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/02/nigeria-and-quest-for-nuclear-power-energy-in-the-21st-century-2/#sthash.VmDiUbeH.dpuf"

the new ultra-modern russian built nigerian nuclear reactor will be the best in africa, and is already under construction....

"President Goodluck Jonathan was said to have assured the international community that Nigeria’s pursuit of nuclear technology was only for peaceful purpose. This remark was conveyed by the Vice President Namadi Sambo at the commissioning of the Researcher’s Hostel and Conference Centre located at the Nuclear Technology Centre, Sheda, FCT, Abuja on Thursday 28th June, 2012. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/02/nigeria-and-quest-for-nuclear-power-energy-in-the-21st-century-2/#sthash.VmDiUbeH.dpuf"

nigeria's first nuclear reactor is already operational in zaria, the second nuclear reactor is in abuja under cosntruction with russia.

MOU was signed long ago, because you first sign contract papers before contractors start building....only your dull brain thinks it should be the other way round....fool grin
