Ayoefa:Your response is not relevant to this post. We are in a time of crises and these people are caught up in a foreign land with no support structure. What does that have to do with entitlement. Entitlement doesn't hold water when hunger hit you due to no fault of yours. |
MumuCountry:Easy for you to say because you are in your country with your families and members of your extended family. There will be a shoulder to cry and lay on in times of need and an entire community to help. But in a foreign land you are on your own. So, see the difference. |
LordReed:Many of these kids are from bad homes. While doing grad studies in Canada back in the days (2000s), there was this set of undergraduate Nigerians and one day I ran into them discussing. If you hear the atrocities one of them said his father was committing, then you won't be surprised if he end up as criminal himself. |
pacespot:Time that countries around the world stop issuing visa to we Nigerians. How could you explain teenage students you admit into your country stealing from your people. We need a time off to close country borders and go sort out ourselves. |
Imagine, these small boys want to be millionaires, even in dollars not Naira. What have they do in their lives to even dream that? They want to live in big houses and drive big cars like Dino Melaye. Abi e pass that? Seem that's the ultimate in Nija. |
tk4rd:Every superstition does not hold true everywhere. Culture and traditions dictate this. |
Teaser4:It may seem a big deal but what's the fun in having such lavish life in the midst of poverty. This may seem an outrageous statement but Nigerians need some sense. |
DanDeeBoss:Is that news to your ears? Surprise, surprise. |
SarkinYarki:Really? That's far from it.She meant dead people from Convid-19 infection as in Ecuador, not those that'll die from hunger. |
emirateprince:Of course, you are mumu now. It's a mumu that if pushed to the wall will find way to enter inside wall rather than fighting back. |
yerokunphilips:Just an opportunity for politicians to make money from the scam. |
trevorhorace:And you dont have a name. You just messed up. |
codemaniacs:Even America people were fighting in shopping mall over supplies. Go in the YouTube, the videos are there. Not to talk of Nigeria. Some foods are even rationed at the mall. For example, I cant buy two bags of rice and I could not buy more than four tin of canned fish. Rationing everywhere. In some places, there is no more bottled water to buy. |
Nigerians are never serious. Always looking for the wrong target. The people responsible for their plight are sitting down under the AC eating cow leg and assorted goat meat. They are attacking poor owner of truck with bread. Is this not a good opportunity for revolution. Even policemen and armies that will come fight you for streets never chop so they will simply join the revolution. |
jibovico:The problem is that most Nigerians dont pay tax and therefore government internal revenue agency does not have bank account records of individuals and govt have to.rely on private payment system. In US and virtually all western countries payments are done via tax collecting agencies so there there is no extra cost to the government. For example United State Internal Revenue Agency started direct deposit into people bank accounts yesterday in the US. Those who don't file tax will be getting a cheque much later. You see where the problem is. We Nigerians have to change the way we think and do things. Data is important. |
SarkinYarki:A lot of Nigerians dont have confidence in Nigeria"s healthcare so some would choose to remain outside Nigeria or Africa thinking that they will stand more chance of surviving there than in Nigeria. But they are not thinking of effects of environmental factors and other factors in those countries that could enhance rate of infection. Just think about this, though it's simply theoretical (which I later found out its possible). Convid-19 in the environment can be airborne. Imagine the amount of dust particles in the air in the average Nigerian city which I am guessing the viral particle could bind onto thereby helping to remove the viral particles from air. So, the higher the amount of relatively large size dust particles in the air the higher the removal of viral particles from air due to binding onto dust and dropping out of air. So far people avoid touching surfaces the particles settles onto the better one chance of avoiding infection. Handwashing becomes important here as well. I just did a search online and it seem my analogy is possible because research on such has been done before. Caution is that dust may also be an agent of transmission so dust particle size is important in determining how much viral particles are airborne. If you scroll down to read the introduction of this research paper below, it gave a hint on such dust based transmission. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4986625/ Other environmental factors like temperature is also a factor as well. Obviously it's warmer in Nigeria/Africa but it's still cold in several western countries. Likewise solar radiation from sunlight increases the decay rate of viral particles as well as their infectivity. The amount of solar radiation is currently less in western countries than Africa so the decay rate of viral particles in Africa will be higher in the open environment, and infectivity will be less as well. So, maybe these factors are the saving grace for Africans. I am currently in US, the only reason I am not worried is that Convid-19 is not impacting people that much where I am. It's a warmer part of US unlike New York and Chicago. If given the chance to return to Nigeria at this point, I probably won't get on the plane because my chance of surviving during lockdown is higher where I am than if I am in Lagos. But if the story change here, deep down I will wish I am in Nigeria. Stay safe. |
GregJames:Wickedness. You are denying your people. If one one of them is your blood, will you say likewise. They should airlifted and kept in isolation in Nigeria before they are let go. |
Lipscomb:Even Americans are paying for their trips. Why would govt pay. This is not an humanitarian evacuation. |
okoroemeka:Things are looking hopeful for Nigeria because if things are supposed to be bad as per number of deaths as predicted by messengers of death, it ought to have started by now. It's been six week between the first index entered Nigeria and now, and about 3 weeks between when we had influx of infected Nigeria travelers and now. If Nigeria sail through April 21st without issue then the "plague" would have passed over. Though occasional death could happen here and there. Ecuador first Convid-19 case was also confirmed on February 29, a day after Nigeria announced its first confirmed Convid-19 case. |
honeyB2018:Don't mind the fake fact checker. Someone said she see in Africa what she see in Ecuador. So Bleep checker need a Viewer to tell him what she meant. What did she see in Ecuador? Dead bodies. Is that any different from what she see for Africa. |
This is the kind of things that Americans fear most. To be robbed in your house and be helpless against intruders. That's why sales of guns have skyrocket in last few weeks. But in Nigeria, carrying gun without a license will be a crime. I also do not support a gun culture but communities need to organize themselves against such crimes. |
olumide4christ:Dont mind the fellow. There are food banks across the cities in the US that you can go get free food. But the challenge as pointed out in the article is that they do not have resources to refrigerate or store such huge amount of food especially now. Problem is its going to cost money to distribute such perishables. The farmer can't bear the cost and surely the govt is too busy with Coronavirus now. Private individuals that are well to do should come out to fund this rather than all giving money to fund raisings. Yes there are still people that lack inspite of the food banks. |
Amotolongbo:You can see that many of our so called billionaires are mentally lazy aside from being wicked. Instead of throwing money that will be eventually stolen at the problem they could have organized themselves to buy such produce and distribute free to Nigerians. A gain at both ends. |
ProWalker:You all are sick in the head. Boy made the right call on what's the stupid boy did and someone else including you are turning around to blame her. When will you all use your senses? |
Jestin:Honestly! That girl fresh die. |
Kizzygentle:The question is what are you all doing about it? You all voted for them inspite of our cry that you should try newer candidates. You should all enjoy the ride |
Xisnin:Who say there is no death penalty already? Try to go rob with a gun..and you will found out..... |
Olalan:Who says? You must be so inexperienced. Hole pass hole! |
lovere:What does black man have to do with the robbery. Go check number of robbery cases in your "white" countries. Ask Americans the first thing most of them bought immediately stay-at-home was announced across USA. The number selling 1 item were guns. Where they expecting to go hunting? |
estyvino:Go online and listen to scientist. Start from youtube. I said scientist, not influencers. Start with this scientist. She was a Bill Clinton adviser. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AeSoC6la9c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcoG0wUV8Ao |
henryobinna:There is universal healthcare for all in UK, just as in Canada that is funded by the government. But in the US healthcare is privately funded. Only kids below 18 and elderly is guaranteed healthcare by government. America practice extreme capitalism. |
