seniwellsFX: One of the major characteristics of fixed income assets like bonds and t-bills is credit ratings. The safety of a fixed income investment depends on how high it's credit rating is. So unlike you said, bonds and t-bills issuer's can default in their payouts. Secondly, all bonds and t-bills are taxable.except municipal bonds issued by local government's which we do not have here in Nigeria Tbill taxable in nigeria? I beg to disagree I've been investing in many years and never been taxed. I do know fixed deposits are taxed |

Highorbit: Treasury bill is cool but check again, 17-18% in one whole year. If you're not ready to put millions there, forget it. It's very good for ppl trying to save, I mean ppl that have some millions just laying in there acct that hasn't been planned on. But if you're someone like me, I'll rather invest it in real business. Get a better percentage interest, create employment and have an alternative source of income. While I agree the returns may be nothing to write home about, especially when one considers our inflation rate, TB still offers a far better alternative for those with as low as 100k (which most banks will accept) to keep their funds, than savings account or fixed deposit. Not everyone has the time or energy to go into business, 8am-5pm civil servants, for instance. |

Gazelle22: I weighed every other option, along with what I want from investment, the products and services of that company appears to be what I need.
First, their minimum for T-Bills is 100k.
Secondly, they give you the option of collecting your interest backend (at the end of the tenure), as opposed to upfront presently at the rate of 22% reflecting the true value.
They send soft copy of your investment letter to your email after every successful bidding.
There is also an optional online portal where you view all your investment, face value, discounted value, daily interest accumulation, total interest so far, and maturity date for each of the investment. With that, I properly organize my finances.
Your account officer takes call anytime.
Those are just some of the reasons I do business with them.
I must make it clear that I gained most of my investment ideas here. I started here and have been here. FBNQUEST and Renmoney are also some other companies I do business with.
Hope this helps. I am only giving back to the forum that gave me a head start.
For investment-one, you may contact an account officer in their private banking department on 08129921106 (Olutayo). You may tell him Gazelle directed you. excellent review. thanks very much!! |

The government therefore usually auction it on the week before the last week of the quarter. *off topic How are the services of investment-one? whats their minimum for TB? checked their wbsite but could get much info there. jumobi1: Definitely!!!. Two of the kids I took to the restaurant are siblings. The taxi driver told me their elder brother hides in the corner and collects every naira they get. He was also a begger when he was younger. He also told me their mom keeps having kids despite being poor and that I shouldn't worry too much about the little girl because she's pretty. "some rich Alhaji will soon come and marry her" You hit the nail on the head. The nature of my job brings me into close contact with some of these people, and you won't believe the nauseating mentality of some of them. Children are nothing more than cheap labor, as far as some are concerned. For others its prestige (the more the better, despite the fact they has no plans for precious things - eg, none in school). For others still, it could be fear of losing some: "at least out of the the seven, four must survive to adulthood". I've always argued the population problem is the single most important obstacle preventing us dealing with the poverty issue, and its sad government isn't taking a more decisive stand. Poor people have every right to bear children, but there must be more control put in place, even sanctions, as far as I'm concerned, otherwise they just keep churning out those babies like unhinged rabbits and wait for you and I to take up the responsibility. Well, for the time being we'll continue, like OP and others, to be our brothers keepers. As someone said, we cannot help everyone, but we can help someone. Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, In al the ways you can, in all the places you can, At all the times you can, to all the people you can, As long as ever you can.– John Wesley |

gist4real: There are some grey areas to this story and some questions needs to be asked. What type of apartment do you guys live in? Flat or face-me-i -face-you? What is your relationship with the said BIL? Do you guys get along or is it like cats and rats managing to live together.
Even at that a few points to note: You said yourself that you saw him out side a few moment ago, so probably he taught you were still outside or in the bathroom and its still his Brother that's in the room.
What was he coming to do in the room? If he was coming to deliver a shocking or an exciting news or he may simply be in a hurry and he might have momentarily forgotten his manners. I guess it was a mistake. You also for one reason or another made a mistake by not locking the door. You seem even more angered by the fact that he stood there apologising, we have different ways of reacting to situations he might just be shocked, and with you diving under the bed he probably needs a moment or too to process it all. If he wants to make a stupid move on you he won't do when his brother is around.
As for you husbands reaction, I belief hi reaction is in order. A wise married man needs to be careful in the way when there is an issue between his wife and his relatives. Believe me one side will always accuse him of taking side with the other. Hence am sure he will call his brother when in your absence and talk to him.
My take on the matter, it was a mistake. The guy is as ashamed and embarrassed as you are. pls move on no need escalating the matter by reporting to other family members. Excellent!! Nothing more to add. OP will do well to heed wise counsel. |

faksy: OP, What if you are the one on bed and your husband is unclad while your immediate sister suddenly enter without a notice, and she wait for minutes trying to be sorry. what would be ur reaction at present and later on? Don't be coy. A two years old knows females generally have higher regard for their nakkedness than males. A woman's reaction to a nakked man is VERY different from man's reaction to a nakked woman. That said, I do think OP perhaps is overreacting. The guy has apologized. regarding the issue with knocking, yes well all agree it simple courtesy, but how often do we keep to it? While staying with my sister, I know the number of times I entered their room without knocking (forgot to knock) and on occasion saw her in her glory. I quickly apologised and zoomed out. Life goes on. |

Looking for the 'index' post is a silly and futile venture.
The unbiased fact remains both Yorubas and Igbos and yes Hausas contributed to the current situation. As early as 2008 when i first joined it was more of Yorubas/Igbos against Hausa, and that pitted the likes of AloyEmeka (and the other very controversial lady - cant recall her name now) against the like of McUsman, Muza, and of course, OP, etc. Those who really contributed to Igbo vs Yoruba the likes of Osisi (number 1) Ilekeh, Dayokanu, Dede1, Ezeuche, etc. Check thier posts you'll see. |
