He worked really hard! I noticed that he did immersion two times, that must have also been a great help.

Fantastic testimony from Yinka! 40yrs old, learn a language from scratch, and reach advanced levels within a year...wow!

I am not advising either. Whichever you choose will be fine.

Was just correcting timelines so you can manage expectations as to when to expect the ECA to be complete. Also, WES charges a flat fee for 2 or more evaluations. With ICES, you pay per evaluation.

With that info, you can make your own decisions.

Thedream7:
@amaya21 Are you advising to go for ICES? Are both of them going to evaluate PGD and Bsc as 2 or more degree. Thanks
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21: 2:37pm On Jun 16, 2019
Actually, WES timeline can be up to 35 business days (7 weeks) after they receive/accept your documents. It takes some time between when they receive documents, and when they accept them. They also do verification which can take time, depending on your school. Don't forget WAEC or NECO.

ICES timeline can be up to 14 weeks from receipt of documents. They typically don't do verification, but they reserve the right to do so. No WAEC / NECO.

CC @thedream7

Kdamnhot:
After receiving ur documents, wes evaluation takes about 2 to 3 weeks, while ICES takes about 3 months. but it is easier to send documents to ices compared with wes. All documents to ices (including official document from ur institution) can be sent via email, which is faster and cheaper and ices doesnt require secondary school certification unlike WES.

He doesn't need a work reference letter unless you mention his job in your EE profile pre ITA - and it is not necessary to mention the job because there are no additional points for this (except his job was in Canada). You can put his work experience in personal history post ITA.

If it makes you sleep better, you can show statement of accounts. Others have done just fixed deposit.

abyejecks:
I am the principal applicant and currently getting my documents for submission as am sure of ita in the next draw with 475. Creating my profile tomorrow with Eca report that will arrive same day. My question on proof of funds is this, we have fixed deposit in joint account and pension letter as buffer. Does hubby need to attach statement of account showing salary deposit to explain source of funds ?

Does he need work reference letter to show the years he has worked to prove it's our money?

Register and study for IELTS.

Also, look into an additional course that doesn't take as much time as a Masters. Examples are CIMA or BCS. (Search the thread). There are also other options. Register and study for whichever one you decide on. These days a Bsc isn't enough, especially if you've hit 30.

Thaiy:
Hello Family,

I have just decided to applying Express Entry to Canada.

I juggled around crs but got a 425 points after using the highest scores at the IELTS

I am single, age 32, with B.sc and over 4 years work experience.

WES - Done
PNP - None

Opting for M.Sc is not an option I can conveniently access at the moment.

PNP as it’s known takes months.....not an option either.....last resort maybe.

Kindly advice on best possible steps I can take.

Thank you.

Depends on your family size. If you're applying as a single individual, your family size is 1.

Check here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

How much do they require? if I may ask.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21: 2:52pm On Jun 13, 2019
Having the money in your account for six months before ITA/AOR or whatever is not required. However, a lot of people that don't have the funds in an account for six months choose to explain how they got the funds. This is where you may choose to use a letter of explanation (to show that the funds have been yours for a while, you just chose to liquidate from Bitcoin into cash or Tbills or something). Others use a gift deed since they receive it from a 3rd party.

Basically, IRCC wants to be sure that the funds are yours, and they are easily accessible, and they are not encumbered. You can buy Tbills from your bank. You may also choose to use an LOE to explain the sale, but the choice remains yours. Whatever helps you sleep better at night.

Hopefully others can weigh in on the sale of Bitcoin part.

Kdamnhot:
but i wont have the required six months balance, will it be ok? has anyone had this experience before?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21: 1:14pm On Jun 13, 2019
I don't think IRCC will accept bitcoin as POF, so you'll most likely have to liquidate and keep the cash or buy T bills/ mutual funds or something. It will be a bulk sum credit into your bank account so I would suggest a letter of explanation, to explain the source of funds.

Kdamnhot:
hello guys, i just received my ita ( didnt know it could be this fast), but i have issues with proof of funds, i invested almost all my funds in bitcoin early in the year {which paid off}. If i sell my bitcoins now , i will have more than enough money , but i dont know how to make it acceptable as proof of funds. any ideas guys? am rily confused right now
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21: 9:45pm On Jun 11, 2019
Yes, you can use more than one job to make up the 3 years. As you said, be ready to provide references and other supporting documents for both jobs.

mobenjackson:
Thank you for your swift response...

So what you mean is i can claim maximum points for both NOCs totalling 3 years or more so far i can provide references which shows i actually worked in both places?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21:
Have you taken IELTS? If no, try simulating with at least 8777 (LRWS) and see if the CRS improves. Also use two or more certificates for the simulation since you have a BSc and PGD. Keep in mind that you will need an ECA for both of your degrees if you want to use this route (if you haven't done this already)

SINP requires that your course of study matches your work experience...

Hakyntommy:
Hello guys. Welldone for the good works. I am new here. And I'll like to please ask some questions.
1. I have BSc Zoology and PGDE and I also bake cakes and other snacks. I'm thinking of going through SINP EE stream as a baker. But the problem is I've not worked under anyone as a baker except during my 1 year apprenticeship. Please house what should I do.

2. I'm not in the express entry pool yet because WES is yet to receive my Waec report but my score was 382 when I calculated it.

Please I need advice...thanks

Use this link to read their FAQs about the evaluation for Canada: https://www.wes.org/ca/help#/path/ECA-Canada-Immigration/

If you have specific questions, you may ask on the thread and anyone can answer.

Nuccas:
I have problem registering the WES. I need guide if you can help me.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21: 3:58pm On Jun 10, 2019
Please post the exact problem you're having with WES so people can assist you.

Be sure you're using WES Canada for the ECA. Then IRCC is automatically one of the recipients, and they'll get a soft copy. One hard copy should go to the address you selected. That's all you really need.

Nuccas:
Pls I need more info on the ECA because i have been having problem completing the WES registration. I have OND and HND but some other little professional certificate and also it requesting for recipient 2. Am I to add my school as recipient 2 together with IRCC?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21: 3:57pm On Jun 10, 2019
Start the ECA as soon as you can. It can take quite a few months for it to be complete. It's valid for five years so go ahead and start, as you can't create an EE profile without it.

ayabemm16:
Hello house, please can i start my wes evaluation now, though I'm not going to create an EE profile until later. Or do I already need to have an ee profile before i start evaluating my results?
Thank you.

Link to Page 1 (start here instead of Page 2): https://www.nairaland.com/5187408/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled

You'll need to evaluate your degrees/certificates with an ECA body, and then get good scores on IELTS for a start.

Medicals can be done in Dubai (and many other countries). As long as the clinic is on the approved list of panel physicians. Use the link below to search for United Arab Emirates.

Sailorman007:
Mine is actually NOC 2274. Then we will complete it in Dubai. Please another question, what about the medicals? Cos I can see mostly Lagos and abuja. Thanks

You're good to go. Gaps in employment are fine. I think I have read somewhere that at least one of the work experiences should be continuous for at least a year. You're good to go with what you have listed below.

Jbaby09:
Good morning fam!!

Please I need clarification in this area ..

Work experience is spaced
January 2013 - March 2014

January 2015 - December 2017...

Do you think it’ll fly with this gap??
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by amaya21: 12:24pm On Jun 08, 2019
Please go through the last 10/15 pages of this thread. People gave their opinions. Tbills are definitely acceptable. Seniors on this thread have recommended a period of 6 months at a time, and you can roll over as necessary. So, do some reading and decide what is best for you.

Not a problem at all. Just ensure you declare this (and any other refusals, if applicable to you).

ToniaGee:
Hi Everyone.

Do you think I can get PR after being denied a US Visa?

I was denied a US Visa in October last year, because according to them, I don't have enough ties to my home country.

32 with a Masters should place you very well. What IELTS scores are you estimating with? Try using a minimum of 8777 (LRWS) for your estimates. This is the minimum score you should aim for when you take your test.
