patches689:The auto loader breaking is least of your issues and highly unlikely on the more modern models. But if it does you can load manually, Problem is if it jams you cant un jam it. Or just moved the crew back in to under the turret. So many better ways they could of done that, like making a larger turret and installing armoured lockers with blow off panels, the crew will all so now take the hit from any penetration. All so it does not have any extra armour. No wonder it was never built. |
patches689:No Unmanned turret with a auto loader. No way to clear a jam, MGs cant be reloaded, crew all next to each other right in front. I don't like it. |
Iblawi1:Probably because they where not forgotten about. Sales take time. Cost, cost to run, logistics and proven over unproven. |
Henry240:Well the usa have not yet approved the sale. |
overhypedsteve:Why do you want the A10. The supper Tucano will ne just has deadly vs BH cost less to fly, requier less ground support in time, man power and resources, have a faster turn around and generally be more cost effective. You fighting coin warfare not trying to defend the west against a hord of soviet tanks. The Tucano was built for the type of war you fighting. Well only 1 sub Saharan African country could respond to a sub. So dont it not a big deal you cant stop one. Since no one in your sphere oprats submarines. You may be getting the same deal Afghanistan got. They got 20 Supper Tucano's spare parts and training from America. |
The South African Air Force (SAAF) will receive two Gripen support vehicles with trailers under a contract being executed by Denel and Desert Wolf. Although the project started in 2004, Denel only received the go-ahead to proceed last year and contacted Desert Wolf to come on board. The contract involves two Sprinter 519 vehicles and two trailers. The package also includes a dome tent and trailer than can sleep four people. Two generators will supply power. Hennie Kieser, Managing Director of Desert Wolf Consulting, said Desert Wolf received the order from Denel at the end of last year for developing the Complete Data Pack for the Gripen Support Vehicle and Support Trailer system (M-TIES). “The PBL Data Pack has now been completed and the next step will be the final design and manufacturing of two complete systems,” Kieser told defenceWeb. Two Mercedes Sprinter vehicles have been procured by Denel and modification work on these will start shortly. Desert wolf will be installing various systems in these vehicles and will also supply two large LEO Wide body trailers. One Sprinter with one Desert Wolf LEO will be a comprehensive and complete Gripen support system, supporting the South African Air Force’s 26 Gripen fighter jets on deployments. Kieser also told defenceWeb that Desert Wolf has received an export order for two fully equipped Desert Wolf Emergency Rescue Trailers, which will be shipped to Zambia in the next two months. africaken254:No op sec is inforced in SA. I know of a case of a phone call made from a ship on deployment to catch poachers and ileagel fisherman. Next day there was a signal inquiring about it. For the most part the sandf dont care about a face book pic or some pic at a parade ground. But a pics of ops arenot allowed. At least not with out permision. Some things are down right ileagel to report on. SANDF counter intel both at the branch level and defence intelligence is pretty good. |

africaken254:Yep and if you working up there and need a break why come down when you can just sit up there. It wont do any thing to the chopper. |

There CH53E pilots only get 30 hours of flight in 6 months, in a operational area. SAAf rooivalks get 40 hours a month and gripens about 15 hours a month 3 times the flight hours. Bit off topic but interesting. https://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t330/AntMustard/Navy%202016/IMG_6830_zpsk51q0ha6.jpg |
giles14:why it can take a lot more weight. |

kizfaz:I can show plenty. If you only have this one General then thetr are problems. |
bidexiii:Since when is global security south african? |
DonBobes:Pics from operastional areas are rare and even more rarely seen online. You need approval to post them and doing so with out permission could land you in trouble. |
Henry240:To be fare some projects never end Project BIRO was for both IPVs. MCM and OPVs. It seems like it wont replace any thing though in stead it will augment current fleet. The strike crafts still got live in them. |
Henry240:Up to 1500. And yes numbers changed there was no medical care in CAR. 2 weeks ago a piece of metal from a steel wire rope broke of in my finger. I have a up to date tetnas shot got 10 days of anti biotics and probyotics and antibacterial cream. I had more meds for a wound that was so minor i never felt pain than any of the wounded Selka rebels except the ones we treated. So yes a simply wslking wounded of there could end up dead. Highest estimates was 1500 died at least 400 died in the battle. |
agaugust:I was not humbled and you failed to proof any thing. |
gottfried21:So we screw up but blam it on the country? |
Henry240:Well loving extrem sports and doing it is to difrent things. I only play normal sports like rugby. Have done extrem things but not as a sport. |

)Although they are safe now and were found with all their limbs attached to their bodies...The group has made it clear that they will never be visiting Namibia ever again.
