AndrewZA's comedy train continues
with more excuses! Where were your field commanders? They must have abandoned the troops at that point!! Makes me wonder why your President must give you orders in a situation where you are faced suddenly with enemy firepower? You confirm again SANDF's lack of command organisation/hierachy that is smart enough to contain sudden enemy fire!

That France controlled the airport is a lame excuse ... the battle was not at the airport! Days after the disgrace it's so sad that Jacob Zuma was "fiddling" while your SANDF waited for orders! Your fat-stomach generals must all resign as they had no guts to give required orders!

That's the difference between Nigeria's Armed Forces and SANDF. Please take responsibility for your failures rather than blame France!
Are you a id*oyt.

SA solders were in no danger from monday. The only way to bring a strong enough force in to bangui was by the airport.

agaugust: it is out-dated. nigerian military has massively recruited tens of thousands soldiers since that time 2 years ago and entry forms are still on sale...you wish to apply ? visit nigerian army, navy, airforce recruitment websites.
You asked for source for sa not for nigeria. I gave you the benfit of the doubt of 100 000

agaugust: thanks, but all those south african Rooikat or Ratel armoured vehicles, Olifant Tanks and MRAPS will be wiped out by nigerian army T-72 BM tanks, or Vickers MK3 tanks or Swingfire Anti-tank guided missiles.

you have weapons, we too have weapons, that fact should be clear to all you south africans by now, this is page 500 of this thread.

see sample of nigerian swingfire anti-armour guided missile below.

weblink source includes nigeria among missile users http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swingfire

click and watch video of nigerian army's type on anti-tank guided missile below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Qm21uiQJmY
The rookat 76 could nock out a vickers and the olifant makes the T76 look like a toy. The swing fire is not has big a threat you think it is.

agaugust: nigeria does not have few warships, NNS ARADU, NNS THUDER 1, NNS THUNDER 2, NNS ERIONMI, NNS SIR, NNS EKUN, are all missile armed warships except THUNDER 1 & 2, NNS AMBE is landing ship armed, NNS ORUE & NNS BARAMA are minesweepers armed, NNS TYPE 056 1 & 2 are coming, NNS TIGRE CLASS CLONE 1 & 2 are coming and all 4 are modern stealth guided missile OPV's.

now that is not a small navy it is one of the biggest in africa rival to algeria, south africa, and egypt.

@andrewza...go jump into the sea with a 200kg stone hanging on your neck....nigerian navy is powerful and a great threat to all rivals in africa. go die in the sea if you dont like the truth !
Not all of those ships are missiel armournd. So please don't lie now.
Only if you jump with me.

agaugust: could you post for us the type of weapons south african army had in CAR seleka combat, R4 rifles, GPMG, RPG, mortars etc...lets know the list. i asked for a good reason.
Assult rifels(r4 may have been the odd r1 or even AK)
Mgs were SS77, PKMs, 12,7mm mg(12000 rounds)
Support wepaons were 60mm patrol morta, 81mm morta(200 bombs), 107mm mrls(60 rockets) and RPGs

I suspect there would have been 40mm mgls. It was not menstioned but is a secstion based wepaon
If you want I can give vechicle list.

agaugust: nigerian navy has over 350 warships and boats, 95% built outside africa. show me source of how many nigerian navy vessels were built in south africa for combat purpose.

show me any warship in the same class of nigerian built type 056 stealth guided missile warship made in nigerian navy dockyard lagos, show me what you built in south africa that can match that...show me now !

that nigerian OPV is a guided missile warship since the day your nightmares began. your nightmares will even get worse now. i have posted the missile fact i have been keeping for the past one month. i was waiting for this thread to reach page 500 to post it as nigerian celebration.

write aall the rubbish, lies and falsehood you want about the nigerian Type 056 warship, no nigerian will listen to you or believe you, only your fellow south africans will follow you to produce lies and say DSTV movie satellite is south african military spy satellite...

go hug electricity transformer if nigerian navy sea power annoys you...we know you are the king of liars grin grin grin

.
You only have a few warships. Most of your navy is boats. Nigeria has a lot of waterways to patrol. SA has none.

You mean a OPV that you don't know what it will be armed with? A opv that will be mostly built out side of nigeria. Please it no threat. Any case I would take our 1970s strike craft over it. And our project biro boats will be built in durban.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 9:34am On Jul 15, 2013
agaugust: nigerian army armoured vehicles are active in service.

you should ask yourself why 75% of south african army olifant tanks and rooikat armoured vehicles are kept in long term storage according to your army sources released information.
Do you have proof that all nigerian AFV are active.

Because 75% of our armour batlions are reserve force battlions.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 9:33am On Jul 15, 2013
agaugust: nigerian army sagaie armourded vehicle does not have to face south african rooikat in combat. weapons dont go looking for counterpart in battlefield like a bachelor looking for his soulmate.

rooikat can meet nigerian vickers tank or just a single nigerian soldier with swingfire anti-tank guided missile and the rooikat is doomed to be d.estroyed. anything can meet anything in war zone, no neat arrangement...its confusion and destruction mixed together.
The rooikat could easyly take out a vikers tank. Swingfire may do the trike but a 76mm he round can take out the entier AGM team.

chris365: sorry you used the wrong scenario as example. we have been involved in conflicts even before independence till 2013, so we can give you examples of our capabilities till date.

i can bet that 90% of men that fought during the bush war are now retired or acting as advisers.

we are talking of SANDF of today that is a mixture of ex militants that became senior officers. thereby bringing their unprofessional and below par method of running your military. proof is CAR where you were too scared to retaliate grin grin grin... i trust 9ja for that one. cos we know what would have happened.

SANDF of now is the dead version of SADF, and no matter the weapons you build, it is the ability of the men to use them that counts. even kenya will wipe SANDF with ease. grin grin grin grin grin grin
Resaon we could not retailt at CAR was 3 one we follow orders. Zuma never gave the goahead. France controled the airport and fomac did not want a intervenstion. The genrail did fly a infantry battlion and airsuport close at hand if the order came.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 9:26am On Jul 15, 2013
NaijaPikinGidi: And your "eye raising" weapons have not won South Africa and SANDF any wars even against such rag-tag and lowly rebel fighters like Seleka. No doubt your troops will need "beauty eye-liners" to nicely model their weapons in front of Seleka "cameras" while our soldiers train their eyes on enemy targets with weapons proudly made for them by them!

Our weapon manufacturing and use is internally focused. That's how we roll!
We never lost a battel in angola and we gave seleka a bloody nose. 15 dead vs 800 dead.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 9:24am On Jul 15, 2013
NaijaPikinGidi: You South Africans like to feel good about nothing! What difference does your "warship" make amongst other fishing boats when your spineless SANDF soldiers could not dare to step boots on Ivorien shores? Meanwhile Nigeria as usual was busy calling the diplomatic shots on the ECOWAS and UN levels and applying necessary pressures on Gbagbo to hand power to the duly elected President Alassane Ouattara. Nigeria's recognition of President Ouattara's election contrasts with South Africa's support for defeated Mr. Gbagbo.

Curiously, while South Africa continues to proudly support tyrants/dictators (Gbagbo and Ghaddafi) on the continent, clearly Nigeria has continued to make the right moves in the interest of democracy. Nigeria has where/when necessary deployed our military might to ensure stability in areas of conflict and instability on the continent. So far we have not failed or lost our missions!!

Poor SANDF ... more practice with Seleka will make them perfect someday!

Mr. Mike..ZA kindly tell us the main mission of the ship to Ivory Coast?
We did not interven due to france. They still to strong for us.

Nigerian navy NNS Thunder's 76mm gun or NNS Siri and NNS Ekun will use Exocet ships to sink south african lone ranger SAS Drakensberg in the waters of ivory coast.

i am tired of talking to your dumbo self, go argue war with boy scouts or border patrol immigration officers. good night.
The company closed down. The ship yard has a new owner. The strike craft(of the 4 3 were built in sa) were refurbeshed at the same dock yard.

Since when is that a guided missiel stealth warship.

We were makeing ships in SA for nigeria. So please our idustry makes yours look like a back yard sheeben.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 5:11pm On Jul 14, 2013
agaugust: south african army is not very physically fit for man to man hand to hand infantry soldier combat. thats why DENEL tries to make weapons with extra long range to avoid direct contact with the enemy soldiers who are more physically fit.

infantry is the heart of the army, the human element of the army, the brain of the army, the thinking machine of the army. once you infantry is bad, your army is bad, and once your army is bad, your military ranking drops low.

china is rated 3rd super power of the world above britain, germany, france, because the chinese army is superior to the 3 european giants who have better air force and navy than china.

the army is the powerhouse of any military force.
Whens the last time you have seen a genrail fight hand to hand.

Sa infantry are in great physcal condinstion.

NaijaPikinGidi: So laughable! How ghetto (in the words of CraigB) can South Africans and their SANDF ever NOT be -- with all the reasons and excuses you quickly come up with. Honorary uniform? MK? Is MK South Africa's version of Seleka? On what military frontlines was she fighting? Did Jacob Zuma fight as well? If he did was it not enough reason for your Jacob Zuma to have at least put on military boots (if not the honorary uniform) ... side by side Sisulu? Where in the world is the Honorary uniform requirement documented? My friend Mr. AndrewZA you have been caught pants down trying to mind Nigeria's legitimate business, whereas you have major issues to resolve on your side!

CraigB's response contradicts yours on this matter, whereas we Nigerians are together with regards to the military rights and priviledges of our President and Commander-In-Chief.

Comedians ... all of you SAns. The Nigerian Armed Forces are not a military weapons modelling agency like your SANDF!
The honary colnol or captian in the navy is not new. The rank holds no comand. I have saltued her with out her being in uniform. All so see how the presdent was in civlians.

She was MK spook. Not solder.

All so note how there was menstion of it. She never wore the uniform again.

GidiNaijaPikin: https://www.armsdeal-vpo.co.za/images/lindiwe%20sisulu.jpg

That's the real wannabe SA army General. She wasn't in the military rank and file or top brass yet your weak and spineless SANDF general prepared her a pretty uniform and none ... not even boots for poor Jacob Zuma? That is the real meaning of hijacking! Checkout the last photo with the fat SANDF generals chuckling like school kids behind the headmistress ... so hilarious! And you all had the guts to mind our President's constitutional business?

Now ... this shows the difference between a disciplined military command structure and a disorganised military weapons modelling force. The greater difference yet resides in the beauty of Nigeria's thriving democracy and constitutional values where the military is subservient to a democratically-elected President and Commander-In-Chief whose powers, rights and priviledges are spelt out in the constitution.

So afraid to defend the indefensible, you clearly took the easy path by disowning the mockery brought by Lindiwe Sisulu and Jacob Zuma to your SANDF ... a clear constrast with us Nigerians who overwhelmingly love to see our elected Presidents decked in their military uniform as the Commanders-In-Chief.

Bottomline: You are South Africa ... we are Nigeria ... therefore, mind your business while we take care of our superior business. Don't come declaring a problem for us, when where none exists.

Petty jealousy!!
SA has a honorary uniform for civilians, and she was MK

This week South African paratroopers during a bloody skirmish with rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have drawn a clear line in the sand that they do not tolerate any rebel attacks.

The response (44 Parachute Brigade, Bloemfontein), two rebels including a commander of the Hutu Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) allegedly killed and at least four wounded. This was after the rebels from two different factions believe first on the powers of the United Nations in the DRC (Monusco) shot.

It was also paratroopers about three months ago in the Central African Republic (CAR) involved a few hundred rebels were killed in the Battle of Bangui. The paratroopers in the DRC is part of the North Kivu brigade Monusco. They will soon become part of the multinational ingrypingsbrigade rebels in the DRC must temper.

This week's clashes, according Madnodje Mounoubai Monusco spokesperson, on Wednesday morning at the main rebel group in the area (M23) statements at Kanyanruchina outside Goma happen. About 30 rebels were about 06:00 on the way to this statement M23 shot back.

Monusco soldiers on alert to keep an eye on the situation. They also had to ensure that the civilians in the area is safe and that the attackers near Goma.

However, the rebels, according Mounoubai Monusco soldiers shot. They also allegedly accidentally in the middle of the South Africans landed statements and started shooting. In such circumstances the peacekeepers returned fire and the South Africans did not wait for them.

Mounoubai said it was unclear exactly who the attackers were, but M23 claims it was the FDLR. M23 also claims spot. Soki Masuhuke, one of the commanders, was shot dead and a photo of his body on the internet.

The rebels claimed the attack came in preparation for an expected massive onslaught by ingrypingsbrigade M23.

According to South African soldiers in the DRC, it was a normal shootout without any reinforcement. The paratroopers were prepared and opened fire with their R4's when the rebels opened fire first.

The ingrypingsbrigade still rounded and consists of soldiers from South Africa, Tanzania and Malawi.

Helmoed-Römer Heitman, military expert, believes the rebels have now got the message that they do not have the South Africans struggling. "Hopefully the message through to the other rebels. After the Battle of Bangui the paratroopers sharp prepared for any attack. The rebels with the wrong guys looking for trouble. "

agaugust: so tapping local peoples telephone lines and internet of peoples home in johannesburg is the way south african military spy network will spy on enemy forces in a country versus country international war zone at deep sea, high altitude air, and vast mass of land to see enemy armoured vehicles, battalions of soldiers, navy warships at sea, jet fighters in the air like nigerian satellites and spy balloons can do ?

you really lost, south africa really lost out to nigeria in strategic military spy capability. nigeria is the ruler of africa in that area, please accept it and dont commit s.uicide

for Type 90 and GDF-002, post full technical details of the two AAA guns computers and guidance systems side by side to try prove your claim.

you like to make a public fool of yourself, so i will gladly help you to look foolish on this forum.
Type 90 Twin-35mm Towed Anti-Aircraft Artillery

The Type 90 twin-35mm anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) is a Chinese copy of the Swiss Oerlikon GDF, one of the world’s most capable low-altitude air defence weapon systems. The weapon was designed to engage high-speed, low-flying aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and cruise missiles. A tracked self-propelled variant of this weapon has also been produced and tested but it did not enter the PLA service. The Type 90 replaced the obsolete Type 65 and type 74 twin-37mm AAA to provide field air defence for the ground forces at the division and group army level.

China imported a small number of the Oerlikon GDF twin-35mm AAA and the associated Skyguard air defence radar system from Switzerland in the 1980s. Later the weapon was produced in China locally under license as the Type 90. The Oerlikon GDF AAA system is available in three major variants: GDF-1, GDF-2 and GDF-3. It is not known exactly which model the Type 90 was based on, but it is thought to be comparable in performance to the GDF-2 developed in 1980.
