One obvious thing is that in positions of power are all connected somehow. |
maasoap:I guess you misunderstood. If they weren't made in China, they might cost twice this price. It will still carry "Made in China". Every man and his dog knows that the product belongs to who owns the brand. I didn't say Iphone is now part of Injoo, Huawei or owned by the Chinese Politburo. ![]() With the way the Chinese copy stuff, going to make it in China means the Chinese are probably already integrating Iphone technology into Chinese products. |
yinkson:Dude, these brands are made in China too. Just different labels on them. The West just know how to make money from brand crazy peeps. |
grossintel:Lock down does work if people adhere. And it's working. Of course the best approach is test, isolate, trace contacts and treat. But if that window has been missed and contacts could now be tens of thousands, it becomes unfeasible. Lock down becomes crucial. Infection will still rise first and also deaths. Issue is governments were worried about economic collapse if they ordered lock down early. A total lock down of just 2 months can easily wipe out between 5 and 10% from national GDP and create millions of unemployment. 22 million unemployment benefit applicants in America already due to lock down. In developed countries, high unemployment is like poison to politicians. They fear it big time. It's the panic that's making Trump trying to re-open. Because elections are coming up. If lock down were to persist till end of June, US economy won't recover enough before November election. Bad for Trump. He will rather risk some thousands of death and open the economy sooner. That's politics. By the time lock down began in most countries, there were already many infected people not showing symptoms. And they had been spreading the virus all along. Among those infected were vulnerable people (even some healthy ones vulnerable for genetic or other yet unknown reasons) who over the following weeks got ill. Of which some died and still dying. There's always a lag between between lock down, infection and symptoms/illness/hospitalization. Nigeria should not treat lock down with levity. Because the rise. It could have been 50 times worse by now and rising. The scene at Abba Kyari funeral today is alarming. Abuja should brace itself if no action is taken. |
Wait o. Was lockdown lifted for Kyari? So govt could not enforce it because it involved their people. That's the HQ of hypocrisy. |
StarUp:My friend, if we are not careful, New Orleans, Chicago and New York will be child's play. All that is left is prayer now. |
ahnie:Akara is very versatile. My favourite one is Quaker oats and akara. |
Twinkletwin:Oh boy they will soon label you a wailer, still bitter that Buhari trounced GEJ at the poll. Especially those positioning their man for 2023. When it comes to the valid case of blatant breach of the law and rules, they will as usual talk from both sides of their mouth. They have just chosen many innocent Nigerians as 'abobaku' for Abba Kyari. Only a matter of time. May God help us. As already seen, when push comes to shove and the disease spreads, it's no respecter of tribe, wealth, political position or status. |
DanDeeBoss:Type of attitude that spreads disease to innocent people. Sadly. |
TheGoodJoe:The prof is actually right and everyone knows it. Fact is Europe didn't act quickly enough. The cases just became too many that large scale testing and treatment just became unfeasible. The more meticulous Germans followed the large scale testing early enough and have fared relatively better. UK authorities have been disappointing. They had warnings from Italy to avoid Italian mistake. Locking down just 2 weeks earlier would have made things far better |
botrix:Good question. They should clearly state active cases: meaning those still being treated or under observation after testing positive but not given the all-clear yet or have not tested negative yet after treatment. In this case the total include anyone who has ever tested positive whether dead, discharged or under treatment/observation in Nigeria |
GloriaNinja:Do you still do proof reading? Your location? |
We should practice true Federalism. Not one based on oil money. Abba Kyari just passed on. He left his family a fortune. Ordinary citizens if they die, their families will suffer terribly. I see no reason why Minister State for Petroleum or other relevant officials cannot reach out to Wike to iron out which essential flights to be allowed, why, precautions in place, etc. Wike is right on this. |
Very sad if true. Although impunity by our politicians over the decades make us see them as quasi predatory animals, unscrupulous, greedy and rapacious. However, Abba Kyari was a very brilliant man. Going through some of the most reputable universities in the world including Cambridge, Harvard, Warwick, etc. He worked with a top law firm in Lagos, top banks & top corporate firms/multinationals in Nigeria. Some people should better not venture into politics. It ruins hard earned reputation from previous hard work. Abba Kyari is one of those. Had he not go into politics (a man already), would be seen in quite a different light. Our politicians should now see that life has no duplicate. The life of the elite or of the average person. Therefore going forward, they shoup ramp up the heath care system urgently. To benefit of everyone. |
Na wa. Justifying highness title. |
Very useful information. |
It's a good thing for a guy to experience early in life. You will know whether you have true friends and if your girlfriend is worth it. In fact occasionally pretend convincingly to be broke. Park your car somewhere faraway and say it's with Kazeem. Be taking bus to go out. Soon they will be saying he has sold his car to eat. Ask your friends for help. Especially those who always like to take your perfume, new shirt and ask you for help the most. See how they will behave. To the girlfriend you normally assist regularly, form broke. The result will make you wiser in life. |
ebuk4real:Just wait for oyinbo to find a cure first. We will just go back to sleep as usual. Black man will even boast that he's strong and survived Corona. The only reason for this fuss is because it affected some of the elite early on. And they cannot travel abroad. Now forced to use the healthcare they have neglected for so long and do not trust. |
Welcome news. But as we know, viruses can be very tricky. This along with vaccination could help keep it under control in the future. |
Hmmmmm. |
Might even be Hawaiian or Puerto Rican. Some look missed like this. Otherwise maybe a Filipina. |
Nice one. |
Angelinastto:Thing is many women have a poor perception of motherhood and sex. A pregnant lady, unless there's a medical reason not to, should be banging away until the very minute to deliver. It's very good towards preparing for labour even. Antenatal classes should cover this thing too. A man should be understanding though. But sometimes sex life deteriorates permanently after childbirth. Then anything can happen. |
samuk:Lol. Don't be surprised if she's married to, dating or like Edo men. ![]() I guess she enjoys it. I quite like the fact that a lady has interest in culture and history, not just eye-lashes, wigs, bags and shoes. ![]() We need more ladies to take part like this. Instead of people to accept that each tribe had their strengths, that one way or another influences flowed both ways, how exactly things were, we cannot be 100% certain today, they want to change history. Many of our neighbours had no empire. They were small homogeneous chiefdoms/kingdoms. Aside Oyo that had an Empire from about 1608 to 1800 or 192 years. Benin on the other hand had an Empire from 1440 to 1897 or 457 years. Yes, Benin's success was due to many people we brought into the fold. Bringing their talents along. From the East , South and West. Ours was a multi-ethnic success. Something we proudly acknowledge. Our cousins do not have that openness despite claiming to be "accommodators". Tolerating people is different from allowing them be full part of your culture despite their own sub-culture, different dialect, etc. |
samuk:Kikikikikiki! ![]() If this was in court the judge would be outraged. Mutilation of evidence. This kind of Mike Tyson upper-cut nor be here o. ![]() Change East to West because the European must have drank ogogoro and got it wrong. The Benin man & oyinbo who had the chat were wrong. Those who came later, maybe after 100 years now think they know what was said better. Talking from both sides of the mouth is normal to some people. ![]() Instead of people to accept that each tribe had their strengths, that one way or another influence flowed both ways, they want to change history. Bola146:I wonder o. A grown 25 years old man shivering that her mum will know about his having sex. ![]() If you still dey fear mama, then behave like her sweet little boy, not humping up and down. After you guys committed murder together, na now you dey fear? Na juju man hand dem wan carry you enter now. Man up dude! If I was you, I will be first to tell my mum. Did you not see the lady who released her nude pics to thwart the threat of some low-life against her? That lady my friend, has far bigger balls than you. |
simplepee:ABI o. ![]() |
Toxay:Na so. While sitting comfortably away wrapped in cotton wool. Risk of catching infection especially in the tropics with many infectious diseases is a constant. But you know in 9ja we respect looters. Instead of those making sacrifices for the common good. The common good has no meaning to many anyway. |
RIP. |

Well, I'm not surprised, you are still a kid. Let me wait for people to contribute, I'm just really annoyed!
