Fine motor skills do play a role. You see that in neuro rehabilitation. How handwriting changes greatly with impaired motor skills.

My sister has one the most beautiful handwritings I have seen.

I am a strong proponent of the use of face-masks and I think that, if not for the strong marketing campaign by the WHO to brainwash people against protecting themselves, the Coronavirus would not have killed so many people. The WHO is to blame for this tragedy.

WHO are acting as new knowledge about a new virus strain emerges. WHO declared this disease a pandemic long ago now. At that point the health authorities of each country should have known what that means and act accordingly.

WHO advised test, test, test. Yet most countries barely tested enough. See Germany, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore that tested widely. Some even did exquisite contact tracing right at the beginning. They kept death rates quite low.

It easier to blame what seems like an anonymous far away body. Than home government that one may be afraid of or partisan towards.
