Blessed200016:I do not really understand what you wrote above. How are you sure Buhari did not interfere? How and why did the case suddenly come up soon after Saraki became SP? Has it occurred to you that the case must be just too watery so that no interference was viable? Talking about interference, perhaps if GEJ went to court to challenge all the kids vote in Kano & Northern Nigeria, with all the FG money at his disposal, maybe Buhari would not even be at the helm of affair today. Worse come to worst lots of blood will be shed like Al-Bashir has been doing in Syria. Think of that first. That GEJ was a decent man. I know in 9ja decency is called foolishness. Reason we have got got no where with all our human and natural resources. |
Aufbauh:The only difference this time is that with the wave of defections from APC to PDP, APC is desperate to score at least some points against PDP by any means. Until recently they had majority in parliament and no real need to pressure Akpabio. However corruption allegation files are potent weapons in the hands of FG to use anytime they are desperate. Akpabio knows how the file could dent his image and seriously damage his political ambitions even if found innocent years later. |
Hopebringer:Abeg do not argue American matter with Afam o. Afam is an "American" that just happens to have found himself in 9ja by accident of birth. Afam feels very emotional hearing American national anthem, he said this last line about 5 years ago himself. He probably follows every new development in American politics. ![]() On the other hand the way America perceives a country's leadership clearly plays a big role in how they relate with that country. For example if Iran was to get a non-religious democratic leadership, Al-Bashir leaves and a new American trained dude takes over and such, America will certainly change their relationship with those countries including travel restriction for citizens of Iran & Syria. |
At least she represents more African & black women than the anorexic-grade skinny ones we usually see crowned. |
Nice one. |
Blessed200016:Did APC win in court to remove Saraki if his appointment as SP was illegal? At least Saraki won CCT and other legal stuff he fought. |
tintingz:Would you also tell Jews, Muslims and Christians to forget their type of God? Give a simple answer unambiguous answer. I disagree. Shrines, temples, and native beliefs are considered part of extraordinary human heritage with UNESCO doing its best to protect them worldwide. |
tintingz:So Jews use the star of David, Christians use the cross or Muslims use their crescent to develop nuclear reactors, bullet proof or fighter jets we have today? Does it make those believes useless? Japanese have largely kept their Shinto faith and until 1860s had no modern science or tech of the time, and considered rather backward people by Westerners. Did Japan use ancient Shinto belief to develop their science and tech? How can you equate ancient religious beliefs with mathematical, pure & applied sciences of today? Did you not see the banners of Kings of France and England bearing the cross in the crusade in the holy land in 1291 and other crusades, did it save them from losing the city of Acre to the Muslim Mamluks? Did they all not believe they were fighting God's war? Anyway someone who knows history that deep won't make very shallow comments as you do. So I am expecting way too much. |
tintingz:First of all we generally have a warped idea of "juju". The word juju is even a derogatory word by the French to describe African belief system. So called juju was never about doing evil. Foreign religions had to demonise our traditional belief to get a foothold and eventually dominate. Secondly most using juju these days are actually Christians/Muslims who approach traditional priests for evil stuff like money ritual. Thirdly, many modern babalawos have commercialised their skills in response to what people are requesting: money ritual, tying down a friend or family member's progress in life, illness, etc. When you begin to think in that manner bolded, you will get the whole idea wrong. It is an ancient art that was never meant to be hi-tech or do evil. Science didn't develop from Western paganism or occultism. Occult are still very much active in the West. We ascribe too much power to traditional arts may because of Nollywood (Susu, K. O Kanayo, and the dude killing his brothers to take their land, etc) which in reality is not that clear-cult. Traditional worship was developed largely based on nature (rivers, thunder, mountain, moon, stars, rain, sun, whirlwind, seasons) and the philosophy of how they work and how certain chosen people (who in death may also become deities) can communicate with these and other forces beyond our reach, and the role they play in the affairs of mankind, good or bad. furthermore these forces manifest the power of the superior God (Eledumare, Osanobua, Chukwu, etc) as intermediaries. This is my conclusion based on interacting with people who were around 90 to 105 years old by the end of 1980s. People who lived their entire lives as pagans, while watching how the world changed drastically in religious terms. Killing people, hindering people's progress or money ritual were never relevant themes in their worship. It was about protecting oneself and family from evil, praying for progress and good health. On the contrary, there were rules and taboos that were important in inter-personal relationships. People were never to do evil to each other in the community including infidelity, doing evil diabolic stuff against others. In fact certain deities (Alale, Oro, Erimwin-Idu, Erimwin-otor, Orele) are examples) were dedicated to cleansing the land of abominable acts or taboo deliberately or inadvertently broken, yearly or every few years. People maybe required to swear to do no evil or those who did may be required to confess. You may hear of Oro festival in Ikorodu sometimes. There equivalent ones across many parts of Southern Nigeria. The error we make is to assume it's about a witch in Edo or Ijebu flying to kill one successful son or daughter of theirs in Abuja or Kano. If we fix our roads, provide an excellent healthcare/emergency care system, a booming economy, higher quality of life, people will live better & longer and village people wont have to take the blame for everything. As for the man with juju at doorstep, we have no evidence it was meant to kill or impoverish his tenants. It could have been for protection fro bad tenants or to get good tenants and drive bad ones out of his house, at least in his own belief. Considering how much I have lost to bad tenants (lost rent & legal fees), an older landlord brought up with traditional beliefs could easily have resorted to planting juju in his house to avoid bad tenants. |
rman:Tell you. How many will fit between those openings in windows of 1962 today? Much of Nigeria's problem began in Western Nigeria. With Awo-Akintola problem the major one. |
wilcox:This is not noise makers, short charcoal, bride importers or Sarakophobic list my brother. That is why he didn't make it. ![]() |
mojibbz:Dude, I nor just wan vex this morning for that dude you quoted. That at how they hyped GTB sotey I went to them. Na story. I abandoned the account because of their blunders. Don't even get me started on Skye Bank. Banking in Nigeria still has a VERY long way to go. Funny enough banks were better in the 1980s and earlier before banks mushroomed all over the place. Despite recapitalization, they are still very far behind. To begin with, why save money with pitiable interest rate and inflation that will eat away both capital and interest? |
elChapo1:See conspiracy theory. ![]() Osho just making too much noise. People need jobs, good healthcare as they cannot all travel like Bubu to London, not all this crying over Saraki. |
Lol. |
omoelerin1:Did they also sign to fight with barehands, delayed pay and tolerate embezzlement by bosses? We still remember many April 22 1990 Coup Plotters: Major Gideon Orkar, Lt Echendu (escaped to USA eventually), Major Mukoro, Major Edosa, Major Obanor, Major Dakolo, Lt Henry Ogboru, Lt Obasi, Lt Col Nyiam,Lt Okekumatalo, Lt Okhiafo, etc From Dimka coup we still remember Bisalla, Aliyu, Ogunmekan, Monchon, Idi, Ribo, Wey, Adamu, Umaru, Afolabi, Wakins, etc. |
These must be largely Southern soldiers to be used as shooting targets & cannon fodder for Boko Haram. Just when you think coup is inconceivable, everything negative just seems possible under Buhari. |
BabaRamota1980:If you eat in restaurants and on the street, you don eat dog tire. I just pray I have not been served human meat yet. Too many dubious people around. |
Gorem2013:Dude, focus on the message. Did Dino lie in his post? Were those infrastructure provided by APC/ACN/CPC or PDP? You can later argue that the money used didn't belong to PDP and most reasonable people will agree with you. Though they will equally remind you that the money former APC governor Fashola used in Lagos didn't belong to APC either. |
sholatech:. There is massive corruption happening under Buhari. A man whose jobless son has 50 million Naira motorbikes to play with. But rob a bank and if you're in APC you're a saint. Time will tell. |
Philinho:Oyegun who was constantly between a rock and a hard place was able to just about keep things going through diplomacy and maturity. By not being seen to be running errands for Tinubu or any particular faction of the party. A very thankless and delicate balancing act. A job that can easily discredit any politically ambitious person and create enemies on both sides. Most over-estimate the influence, clout and power of party chairman. Oshiomhole is even over-estimating himself. |
FrancisDiote:I cannot say for sure exactly how her character is BUT it is not about deliberately dropping material stuff. It is the innate stuff that you display. You can cycle or use keke Marwa to work but that will not change your attitude, tone, how considerate or caring you are. Often the real reason things are not working cannot be said maybe because you are not good at taking correction. But suffice to say that men are not prolific gold diggers as femi-Nazis want us to believe. If it was the case one of those guys would have stayed with her for the money while still running his normal parole with other babes outside. |
ItzBIM:Really? Which languages? Knowing the commitment needed to learn new languages, I respect those who do. |
Toketimt:AK is a very rich state with massive oil money. So money spent on bribing top politicians from AK would be considered a wise investment indeed. To be easily recouped. You just need to remember how Amaechi used Rivers oil to out-bribe Atiku to win delegates vote for Buhari in the presidential primaries. Lots of money is changing hands both ways. No biggie. |
The long and short of it is that only very few big men in 9ja are sexually disciplined. Women depending on and getting rich through big men is a big economic sector. Even managers at work, lecturers, senior civil servants, law enforcement and armed forces officers offer promotion, grades and other favours for sex. The more power & control over resources they have, the more they can offer women. OBJ is no different. |
Cool |
presentley:It's actually not that rare. If you look well enough enough you will see the symptoms/signs. In many people it comes in the form of obsession with cleanliness. The was hands excessively, worry seriously about water infection and avoid toilets used by others or over-clean it first. You feel uncomfortable visiting them as they sweep the sand you might have brought into the house, the arrange the house/table repeated, straighten thing out, etc. Hoarding Syndrome: People acquire excessive amounts of items and keep them in a chaotic manner, which clutter up the space in the house badly. Without the items having any significant economic value. It can get so bad that family and friends cannot even visit anymore. Hoarding itself maybe due to other mental health conditions like depression or psychotic condition, etc. Or even due to reduced mobility of the person. |
TimeManager:Bitterness? Why bitter? As someone who briefly met Buhari in person as head of state in 1984 and saw how workers got sacked and parastatals like Radio Nigeria branches were closed down and created joblessness & poverty, I knew what to expect. My old posts here show my warning to people. Actually I and several others here were well-prepared. Winding down our investment in 9ja or reducing them drastically in expectation of the Naira falling in value. Plus infantile economic policies to come. All our predictions happened, saving ourselves money that would been lost. Our people say a stone seen in time flying towards you cannot blind your eyes. As for brains, I doubt if someone like you without much brain and a product of failed education system (cramming & regurgitation) can recognize brainy people. I only pity those who have to eke out a living, survive boko turned herdsmen and more under a regime more concerned about intra-party fight. And your president has to loot Nigerian treasury and travel thousands of miles to enjoy the living standard I take for granted. While you're shuffling like Michael Jackson's Thriller video zombies. kikkikikikikiki. ![]() |
