It is not a magic bullet. Over time it does help. But if you stand and guzzle soda and lots of unhealthy food, it won't cut it. But only as part of a general healthy living habit. You certainly use more energy standing than sitting. |
Pentools:Zombies are people of the night, you know. ![]() See how service chiefs come airport for night. While herdsmen are massacring somewhere. They told us in 2015 that Buhari will not do elaborate fanfare with official protocol. It will be a departure from Jonathan's years of excesses they told us. But now see as power dey sweet Buhari. |
Consent is a very difficult thing o. A woman can even say no half-way through sex and a guy needs to withdraw. The matter might seem amusing but very serious in the eyes of the law. This lady did not even say no o. In reality how many ladies explicitly say yes to says days or even hours beforehand? Usually the date goes well, chemistry has been great and it just happens. A woman can still claim rape months later even if all seemed with consent when it happened. The bad name and opprobrium is not worth it, because even if discharged and acquitted, image is already tarnished. If she sees unhappy, try to know if she's ok with it. If not please leave her. |
biacan:Lol. My dear do you know if the man has seen 50k in his life before? Life for tens of millions of Nigerians is extremely tough. The court would have considered the man's income before delivering the judgement. From the story, a girl of 26 already married for 7 years and seeking love potions from Alfas (gang rape inclusive) should tell you all you need to know about the socio-economic environment they are in. Just imagine how these kids could end up growing in serious poverty, having to fend for themselves however they can. May God help them. |
BeemaxWorld:Look, they will soon label you Wailer, flat-head (irrespective of your tribe/region), 9ja Delta militant, Ipob and all possible names. Election is next year. ![]() In this our country truth has no place. Herd mentality holds sway. But thank God some like you are not in Zombie land. ![]() |
martineverest:They may not know that Sir Victor Uwaifo is a first class graduate, with thorough post-graduate education, lecturer of many years and a former commissioner. Along with his late friend Segun Bucknor, who was educated at Columbia University in New York, many of those older musicians developed their music alongside proper education. The result is that all their kids have several degrees, irrespective of what you see them doing today: showbizz, business, etc. They are not like ignorant youth. All those Bobby Benson "musical school generation" showbizz people learnt oyinbo ways of doing things before corruption ruined the country producing the empty youth we have today. People like to look at all older musicians as "previously popular and fairly economically ok but now poor". Very wrong. What relevance will Simi give to Sir Victor? Copyright law will decide if Simi did the right thing. |
Nice. |
So what is the procedure for being a private guard? If regulation based on general security concern is needed I support it. But it should not be through gra gra means. Regulation could be by local councils. Not another bureaucratic way to frustrate or avenue for whoever regulates to fleece people of money. |
Solidkay:Many comic actors like Rowan Atkinson called Mr Bean use mumuism to make money. Just be a bit unique. Mr Ibu is educated. Just like Gringori and Clarus were all educated back then. Imagine if we had Nollywood in their time. |
El-Ruffian has short-maniacal Elephanto-egomania. Also called short-maniacal hyperegomania. ![]() And being a Nigerian politicians makes it resistant to therapy. ![]() |
HtwoOw:My friend, I do not know who is factory product but do you know how Malaysia developed under his rule as Prime Minister from 1981-2003? I guess you don't. Malaysia went from a poor country borrowing Tenera oil palm breed seeds from Nigeria in the 1970s to a first world/developed country in that time. A Muslim majority country for that matter (where some would expect conservatism to delay progressive policies) with high standards in everything. He won in an election where kids did not vote like they did in Kano in 2015. You can also be sure that thanks to the progress his country made under him, he will not be spending 4 to 6 months a year treating himself in London, even at the age of 92. Do not compare a 5 course banquet dinner with soaked garri & groundnut. ![]() |
dominique:Dominique, occasionally it can still work depending on type of breech position: complete, frank, footlong, etc. Of course the fact that footlong is likelier in pre-term than term makes pre-term likelier to be difficult and C-section preferable. Just to avoid any agro majority would just choose C-section if pre-term & breech. If things continue this way, in 25 to 50 years, hardly anybody will be able to master the art of breech vaginal delivery. Fear of lawsuit should things go wrong would mean no way to teach it in practice. |
shankara7:The OP is a learner. In 9ja people can "form" publicly claiming to donate large sums to look big. In reality most will not redeem pledges. No legal obligation to pay up. Even change of guard (party chairman being kicked out) is enough to stop those he gingered to pledge to not pay. When OBJ was raising funds for his presidential library, he had to push people with his domineering attitude to pay. He openly admitted that if he doesn't raise the fund before leaving office, he will never see anyone to donate anything. Ordinarily such funds are raised after after leaving office to avoid conflict of interest. Trust OBJ, he probably reminded donors to repay his favours. He had the power to revoke licences and undo many things while in office at the time. Not saying there would have been no corruption involved, like everything else in 9ja, but certainly not in the way OP made it look. |
Hehehe. And they got to the semi-finals of Italia '90. One of the best England squads in the last 30 years. Only Euro'96 squad came close. |
Gerrard59:Mr G. we just instinctively demonise any form of African culture. They are not killing anybody. Oro has similar versions in most cultures across 9ja. If not because Ikorodu has grown to become a very important Lagos suburb, with many priced out of expensive parts of Lagos living there, nobody would would bat an eyelid. If festivals/rituals that included human sacrifices centuries ago, dogs, goats, cow and others are now used. |
franchasng:I do not for example like big bom bom or big boobs. Anything that attract stares or ogling from people won't freak me. I like things in moderation. Maybe because I understand the human body and have seen female body more than most people would see, certainly more than those who do not see them in line of work. So not everyone is fan of those big ones. Though many are. Even the sex appeal you mentioned is a biological thing. You didn't just have sex anyhow way back, you married to have kids. It is fairly recent that you can choose your future spouse and bring home or just pick a girl anywhere and start sleeping with her. It was arranged even in Europe. Still common in Asia, Middle East and Africa. The woman your family would deem ideal for you might have no big bom or big boobs. So fancy big bom & boobs of other women all you like, no show for you back then. ![]() Desire for sex was to procreate. Considering that about 50% of kids didn't make their 5th birthday, men had to be constantly shagging their wives to improve fertility rate. |
Na wa o. Toto & wahala. ![]() |
I am not from Ikorodu but culture is culture. To restrict night movement for one day a year is not too much. People know in advance. Governments at times impose curfew for weeks for flimsy excuses. African culture is under attack from Africans aping oyinbo. Whereas oyinbo do not even take you seriously. Value and be proud of your culture, promote it the world will value it too. |
Michelle55:Hahahaha! Bad geh. ![]() Your own good. For my side dem nor wan hear even if there is snow meters high or flood everywhere. Unless government has declared " stay at home". ![]() Just about to finish earning my keep for today. You will be fine dear. Go shake body some for work. Good for morale and pocket. |
Michelle55:Lol. How is ur day going? |
Michelle55:My dear is a lot MORE science and hypotheses than this o. Those two regions are massively important. ![]() |
SirBunky85:Fayose is not contesting. I doubt if Tinubu will support Fayose's deputy governor/PDP candidate. Fact is democracy is alien to Africans. We do autocracy & gerontocracy. In 9ja politics it's a bunch of old men manipulating the system to anoint their stooges. The younger ones keep taking orders from old men masquerading as leaders & statesmen. If you stop taking orders from people like OBJ, Buhari, Tinubu, IBB and co, they begin to use all weapons against you. OBJ did it to Jonathan. El-Rufai will make very vindictive and vicious godfather in the future. |
Nothing new here. Kids suck milk from goats, sheep, cow and others in such communities. Highly nutritious and might even be life-saver in arid and semi-arid regions rural communities worldwide. It might not be entirely healthy if the animal has certain diseases, but actually helps them build up immunity. For millennia, people drank milk raw, some made into cheese, butter etc. Only modern sensitivities and science/health care frown upon such. There can also be an entirely innocent but practical reason. Mimicking the sucking mechanism of a calf can also enhance flow of the milk more naturally. They might just be doing that. |
Michelle55:It is biological. Boob and booty signify proper feminine figure. Also mean looking well-fed, more likely to survive famine and provide ample milk for a baby. Because until about 100 years ago fridges/freezers to keep food and well-stocked shops all year round didn't exist. Much of mankind's history is littered with drought, famine, strife, etc. Only the healthiest and fittest survived. Today we know that fat in the laps and behind in women is "healthy fat" that doesn't increase risk of cardiovascular diseases and can be safely deployed in periods of starvation. Although much of the above do not apply now, what was programmed in humans for thousands of years cannot be undone so soon. Research has also shown that during heat period, typically day 13 to 15 after a woman begins her menstruation, women find strong, muscular men more sexually attractive. This was done when groups of women of childbearing age were shown pictures of various men daily for a whole month and asked to pick the most sexually attractive each time. While monitoring their menstrual cycle. Women mostly chose/preferred more handsome, slim, even slightly feminine looking men outside their heat period. Inference was that women subconsciously linked fitness/survival of a baby to the physical strength of the man, pretty much as she would have done in the open Savannah 3000 years ago. Although sex is highly recreational these days, previously back in the day it wasn't. It was for procreation. Even today that most women prefer a rich guy to a poor guy, it might also be biological. A rich guy can afford good food and shelter for his kids pretty much like a strong healthy guy would more easily successfully hunt for wild animals, gather food, build shelter and protect his family 10 centuries ago. Money can buy you what physical strength would have earned you 1,500 years ago. All these things happen without us even knowing, sometimes even believing we are fully in control of everything, when in fact nature holds the master key. ![]() Despite all our pretense at sophistication & civilization, all the ancient instincts for survival remain. ![]() |
Ehen. Now we are getting somewhere. ![]() At least they now admit they are corrupt and deserve to be in jail. Not all that broom they have been carrying up and down. Wait o. If Monkey or baboon was their symbol, is that how APC will be carrying baboon or monkey up and down? ![]() |
gregyboy:Well Benin was an Empire. Every genuine Empire took names, cultures, cuisine and more from its colonies. Yoruba people are still many within the two Ovia local government areas of Edo State like Usen, Utese, Egbeta, Olumoye, Iguogho and others. Diferent people from Igbo & Yoruba fringes of the empire brought their talents and skillS to Benin. It was the Lagos of those days. The place to go make a name as ARTISAN, DRUMMER, SOLDIER, ETC. nO CONTROVERSY THERE. Roman empire adopted gods like Diana and Zeus from their Greek colony. Britain adopted a word like Bungalow from India. Patel is one of the most common surnames in UK today, a name from India/Pakistan. |
deathwing:Well to them she's dead too. Pity. RIP. |
Afamed:Highest revenue? Do you know what adjustment for inflation is? It is not numbers that matter, but how much X billions of dollars 25 years ago is worth today. How much do you think $20 billion dollars oil windfall in 1991 Iraq war that IBB stole was worth in dollars from 5th May 2010 to 29th May 2015 when Jonathan was in power? You wouldn't know of course. That was just the extra windfall, not oil revenue from 1985 to 1993 o. By the way, I know Zombies like to claim Jonathan was in power since 1960. But he was in power for 5 years and 24 days. Not 6 years. Cabal ruled ruled when Yar'Adua was ill. ![]() Jonathan spent 5 years, bringing the biggest economic boom era, becoming Africa's biggest economy for the first time. If doing projects is easy show me on classroom, one prison, even one public toilet Buhari has built in 3 years? He's only borrowing money to buy weapon after claimg Boko has been defeated 2 years ago. At least he must be making money from oil to have to put in foreign reserve. Instead of lambasting Nigerian youth as uneducated like Buhari did abroad, Jonathan set about building schools. The joke is on you guys. ![]() |
Afamed:OK. But built railway, Fed universities, almajiri schools, invested in agric, realised much money was lost to oil subsidy and sought to block it. What has the "non-corrupt" visitor president achieved? Brought hardship, drove out Iberia and other foreign companies, caused massive unemployment, etc. What is the use of blaming while not achieving anything? Simply to cover own incompetence. Foreign reserve that does not shore up strength of currency or economy, is that foreign reserve? You talk of foreign reserve and Buhari is still borrowing money to buy weapon. That is economic illiteracy. Why would you save money in savings account collecting 2% interest, and borrow money at same time paying like 22% interest rate? Let the masses decide. They can better judge if their lives and economy are better under one regime or the other. Not spending scarce resources on media image laundry and campaign of calumny. |

Kobicove:Nope! No experience of such. Only very few people can give any sound advice on NL. Most are single, jambites, jobless, slay queens with hardly any relevant life experience. Aside property, culture, politics zone, I come here to amuse myself with Nairalanders bad mouth. Experienced ones like Jarus, Spider880 and others are very easy to know. Of late mature people have become less active on NL. But many people do not even hide it. They begin like it "please I am a popular nairalander and I had to open a new account to post the painful situation I am going through". ![]() I guess everyone has seen it. If they were modest, honest people all along, why would they suddenly feel so ashamed to say it as it is? Others say "I need advice for my friend", yada yada yada. Which friend lives ten kilometers under Olumo rock that cannot access Nairaland? ![]() |
Meanwhile blaming Jonathan continues. Even if $200 per barrel, they will still moan. |
