The guy might be mentally unstable. That should be starting point. Those appearances of his dad might just be hallucinations. |
Kikikikikikikikikiki ![]() These 9ja homo sapiens nor go kee person with laugh. Haba! Maybe next, pastors will have people dressed like the Pope's Swiss Guards standing guard outside their houses. Chai! Which way 9ja? Maybe all that heavy dress inside Abuja heat for just 20k per month. Lawd have mercy. |
harffie:The worst a man can do is cling to a woman or beg her to stay with you. That is your dignity gone. No woman respects a mug. She will so mess you up & discard you. Even if you hurt, do so privately. Be in control of yourself. Always. When she sees that the pasture is not greener on the other side she was eyeing, she would come back. Up to you to take her back or not. ![]() |
Dude, there's not much that can be done. Sorry to say, but your BIL is not honest or really responsible. He has lied to even his wife & deceived her. Any hard approach could affect your sister's marriage. That is if that money didn't already go into maintaining another woman/family outside. It depends mostly on how much he cherishes his marriage. If he doesn't, he won't make much effort to repay. Those small secrets like "do not tell your daughter or your dad" should be a bright red flag. Never do it. I only ever lend money I can afford to do without. Still call a family meeting to extract a commitment and mode of repayment from him. Please support your sister emotionally. The whole issue could be eating her up, even while keeping a brave face. |
When even women do not understand themselves, how can a man? Any wonder why lots of women despise themselves while pretending otherwise? Just when you think you have understood a woman, you soon realize that you don't. When things go well with your woman, it is not necessarily because you really understand her. It is simply because she has decided to make your relationship work and is committed to it. You could be the most useless guy on the planet, the lady that wants to make it work would still try her best. You can also be the most caring, loving, responsible & caring man in the universe, it will still not cut it with some women. So just chill & be the best you can be. If it works then good. |
JDelight:To begin with, people have their own culture and must be respected, even if we disagree with their ways. It is an African culture, therefore those always too zealous to condemn anything African will see nothing good in it. People easily forget that the righteous innocent Adam & Eve were created naked and remained naked until they sinned. unclothedness still denotes innocence & purity in many culture across the world. The same people condemning African culture will soon be canvassing for Africans to accept gay/lesbian marriage, marrying animals, use of pornography publicly, nudity in parks, sex parties/swinging, etc. Because oyinbo do those things & they have told us it is good to do it. |
May Trump win. Obama's administration helped APC into power in 9ja, knowing fully well that the old man has no certificate and no plan for governance. They deserve a president Trump that will go from one blunder to the next just like Buhari is doing right now. ![]() |
lastbaff:First bolded, if govt was to deliberately put temptation in your way just to test you, it would be unfair and maybe even illegal. The second bolded, govt is not perfect and infinitely benevolent like God, so human acts can be expected to be so. But if being tested constantly is normal, why did Jesus include in the Lord's Prayer: Lead us not into temptation? Does it mean that God can deliberately lead us into temptation unless we pray hard against it? Even an imperfect parent would very naturally keep temptation out of their children's way. I think there is more to the scripture that we can never understand. People trying to use human logic to say they understand it "with help of the holy spirit" are on a long thing. |
yeyeboi:One cannot talk facts these days without being called hater. Fact is Obafemi has been very wasteful with his money. Even going seriously overdrawn with tens of thousands of pounds in UK over the weekend partying. Earning so much money and still having money trouble with the bank. I still remember this headline in UK years back: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/109106/Premier-League-star-Obafemi-Martins-broke-despite-earning-75-000-a-week I do not want to eat panadol for another man's headache but we have to read with dismay often how former stars get into money wahala due to financial recklessness. See Babayaro's case some years back: https://www.nairaland.com/607138/babayaro-declared-bankrupt-chased-creditors |
Hmmmmm...........Nice work. Any budget set for this job Mr Spyder? |
ksjmode:My brother, you can see why Nigeria is a failed nation. Nigeria's education is a failure. That's why. The press release clearly says "burial ceremonies" but headline here says "burial" and obviously most took it as no interment. Which is not the case. Most people here, intoxicated with the wine of foreign religion jump into argument without even understanding the message. Most just spew their disdain for anything African, bitterness, self-loathing and opposition to anything perceived as "elite, elevated or authority". Nobody has been forbidden from committing the body to the earth. People already keep corpses in the mortuary for up to a year, while gathering millions to buy many cows & throw ostentatious owambe funeral. Perhaps the same father/mother that never got 20k to but proper food while alive. Oba should consider sanitising this madness. A simple/moderate funeral is enough. Pamper your parent when alive. A tradition for centuries in Benin, during demise/coronation of an Oba, dances, parties and elaborate funeral blocking of roads are forbidden. In the distant past it could even be forbidden for up to three years! A relative of ours died in 1979. She was buried/interred the next day. But the funeral rites, reception/dance/party was done in 1980. Because coronation activities forbade such. During funeral of Oba Akenzua II in the late 70s, the late Senior Advocate of the Masses, Chief Gani Fawehimi, jetted into Benin City. He shaved his hair gorimapa right at Benin Airport as all males are required to do in Benin to mourn the Oba's passing. You wonder if all those forming here can get even close to Fawehimi's accomplishments. Muslims with a simple burial & anyone just commiting to the earth have no issues. Every town, city or village has traditions. If you cannot comply, move to another place. Imagine someone suggesting defying Aro in Ikorodu or some other places for example. |
And people are using microscope to search for virgins in 9ja. ![]() |
shestrong:Well, ask Sarah the wife of Abraham or the wives of King Solomon one day in heaven. Or the wives of early Muslim leaders. Depending on your faith. ![]() On a more serious note, a cheating wife can murder her husband easily. Her lover can convince her to do so, so that both can take over your house/property. Because hardly any serious/prosperous man can leave all the young beautiful girls out there and go after a mother of 4 like in this case. Whereas men easily separate love from a fling with another girl. Not saying it is right either. Though it would be rather foolish having a side chick in this recession. ![]() In recent years due to social media platforms, men are now learners in the department of cheating. Some ladies married/single now earn far more money from their online boyfriends than serious employees. All in all, humans (men & women) just sometimes do what is potentially scandalous. Just for the thrill or material benefit. |
Abujapropertyag:Thanks. When you visit the plots, do try to take some pics. Even if just two pics each. A pic says more than a thousand words. Happy Sunday. |
Chipappii:Lol. I know English is not our mother tongue. But it is not forbidden to bury or inter people who have died. Only the dance, party and elaborate owambe that is forbidden and it has been so for centuries. Some discard their culture, others keep theirs. Not even that those who discarded their tradition in the name of aping oyinbo have turned into Dubai. Without this palace order, people in Benin already routinely put corpses in mortuary for up to a year to plan an elaborate funeral. It makes no difference. A Muslim would have no problem with their simple funeral. |
peaceonearth:Wow! I never knew. |
dayleke:Now listen: the average Nigerian youth is actually very close to Dino in character if given a chance. They worship money, wealth, easy money if possible. Not from any hard work, investment or innovation. Just lots of money for the sake of it. And they dream of "flexing" like Dino. Showing off & being unnecessarily ostentatious. And "not sending anybody" to justify recklessness. |
Even if we are tempted to be pessimistic, any publicity is good publicity in this kind of scenario. Let him order hundreds of pairs of work-boots too for his staff at Obasanjo Farms. ![]() |
InvertedHammer:Not every king. Those kings chosen by governors maybe. Where several candidates from branches of the ruling house are submitted to the governor & he picks one. In Benin for example the Oba is known from the day he's born. No official staff of office makes any difference. Even when Oba Ovonramwen was exiled to Calabar in 1897, he was still Oba in Calabar. Only when he departed in 1914 did the crown prince ascend the thrown in Benin. And I believe there are other monarchies in Nigeria like that. |
This violence everywhere is too much. Too much hate, grief & anger. A nation without security of life & property has a big problem. |
I never knew that Madam Aisha stood for election and lost. Which position na? Iyaloja of Daura or what? ![]() Or is Bubu insinuating that Aisha is now in league with Mama peace & PDP? On a serious note, Buhari seems to be mocking those who worked towards winning election, people that Aisha saw on the campaign train. Those who have now taken their complaints to Aisha who knew about their efforts towards winning. Buhari is now calling them losers for not being rewarded by him. Even though I do not support Aisha's outburst on BBC, because a spouse should persevere with private complaints within the house, but once the matter is in the public sphere, Buhari should chose his words carefully when addressing the issue. |
michael142:What people do not know is that Ifa (or Afa in Igbo & parts of Ghana/Togo) is very widespread in West Africa & the history of its origins differs from place to place. And it has a mathematical logic to it. Akin to the binary system used that helped in developing computing, because CPU instruction was first developed using it. The 16 combinations of the 16 Odu corpus, using 16 different combinations believed to be capable of divining all the major situations of life/destiny is remarkably similar to 256 possible values used to feed computer mainframe, and capable of representing letters/big symbols and even operating instructions. UNESCO found Ifa Odu corpus so impressive that it is now considered part of extraordinary human heritage. |
vigasimple:Good. But once you have written Sir as a prefix, the KBE suffix is not necessary anymore. KBE is Knight Batchelor. Is it like writing " my lecturer is Dr. Taiwo Ajayi, PhD". |
Queenbae:Fact is most of our Obas are rather privileged, and some actually have several business interests and or a tidy inheritance. Obas already used top of the range cars in the 1930s. Unlike in pre-colonial times, and during colonial indirect rule in some areas, Obas do not directly collect income taxes from their subjects or control natural resources found in the soil within their domains these days. The constitution puts social contract with the citizens squarely on the shoulders of the government. They are now costudians of tradition and culture. The modest stipend Obas get began in colonial times already. People can petition NASS if they want to scrap the stipend from our constitution. That is how democracy works. |
Soon we will be acusing oyinbo of stealing our culture. That they should return it. ![]() Whereas we are busy destroying shrines and forming holier than the pope now. Give it just 30 years, foreigners will start making money from our abandoned culture. That is black man for you. Always playing victim card, while remaining shortsighted. ![]() |
Location? |
ozohtony:We really need a voice wailing in the wilderness right now. Sadly people are much more "deaf" than John the Baptist's time. ![]() |
Na wa. U for expect say out of 4 babes at least one (25%) would be ......erhmmmm... really feminine. But no. Haba! Girls can be very wicked sometimes. The pretty ones also flock together. They do not want the less pretty to spoil their market or these days, selfie included. ![]() There is this very fine babe I knew then. When you see all her friends back at school then, you will think it's a line up beauty pageants. |
habebe1:You already said it. Look at Bourdillon, one of the supposedly prime locations to be in Nigeria as a whole. We are all about hype & no substance. The worst ghetto in Chicago, London, NY, LA or Paris still appears aesthetically more pleasing to the eye than the street where Dino is standing at Bourdillon. We just do cut and nail, cut corners & nobody has the patience to learn proper details of any job. If for example you compare the brick laid by a Togolese, Beninese or Ghanaian bricklayer to that of an average Nigerian bricklayer, you will see my point. Then we still show off with our mediocrity because 99.9% of the population cannot afford it. |
