Na wa o. Not new sha. Police will patrol the area for a week or so & stop. Then the robbers will strike after that. Anybody who cannot move away from the street quickly should keep their money ready jeje. If possible include forex sef. Life has no duplicate. Nothing new. |
Slikbae:Cocoa is hard work sha. It takes many years to start getting a decent harvest. With proper maintenance and the right soil (slight acidic, well-drained) that still preserves some water to help in dry season, by year 10 after planting, harvest should be good. It is a delicate plant: not too much rain, not too much heat, some shade but not too much, not too windy area & better if a bit on a slope leading to a river (underground moisture likely). Then prepare for phythopthora spp (black pod) infection affecting young pods especially in the later part (September/October) of cool raining season. The ancestors made cool money from cocoa. Cocoa was treated almost like a pet dog or a horse. But we lack the patience & tenacity of those days. |
I have made many friends that I have assisted & continue to assist if needed but nothing like sex. In fact some of those girls met their hubbies through me. Not forming holy holy, but there are some girls that however beautiful they are, they do not attract one sexually. So we remain friends. Now consider the many course mates you had. Does a guy wants to sleep with every girl he assisted one way or another? Nigerian girls can help counter that perception. How about inviting a guy out for lunch or dinner if he has been really nice & helpful? That way you can appreciate him in another way. And insist that you want to pay. |
RIP. |
Aha! We are finally getting somewhere Mr Fash. There was growth under GEJ after all! What you don't say. ![]() Maybe one day you will also admit that he built 14 universities, built roads, renovated airports, brought back railway & we became Africa's largest economy. Sectors like entertainment, Banking, manufacturing, agric and other boomed too. Oh that Nissan and some other car companies came to invest in Nigeria again and foreign and local airlines boomed. Of course GEJ and his cabinet appointees stood akimbo and all happened just like that. |
Whether people like it or not. GEJ is ex-president and has every right to comment on international affairs. Whether people like it or not Buhari is president and history will judge both in due course. Based on economy, consolidation of democracy, corruption, infrastructure, education, agric, inflation/living standard, security and others. Our subjective and often bigoted views on Nairaland now will hardly count. |
ybalogs:Abi o. Affirmative Action marriage to spread the wealth around. ![]() For wia? One thing the rich are good at is preserving wealth. That is why IBB's son married Indimi's daughter, though it crashed later. The rich despise the poor badly. Those that rose from abject poverty to wealth are even worse. |
AGUBANZE:The season is still young. Wait until injuries start taking its tool. |
loobby:Nice. |
A 23 years old man still harassing his mum for food. 9ja cast o. In prosperous places, most 23 year-olds are out of family home. If still at home, they will be contributing financially to family upkeep. This dude could not even go and work on building sites and bring money home. RIP. |
steadyguy101:It was not done by this government o. GEJ did. I know GEJ also did one from somewhere in the East to PH. A Nairalander rode on it and showed it here about two years ago. Because North is so vast, GEJ thought connecting those long distances was crucial. Just like integrated education up North is critical to fight ignorance, poverty & extremism. It was meant to be in phases: With Benin-Warri-Asaba-Onitsha also in the next phase. Eventually, it would be connected from Benin to Lagos. By the time GEJ was through, you could connect from the East & SS by train to most cities in the West & North. It seems that will be ditched now. Even if lies are flying in a supersonic jet, the truth will eventually overtake them. So are APC propaganda and efforts by GEJ government. |
Story. When did they ever help us? They came to collect their own Intel on Boko. They then concealed it from FG. Only Russia sold us weapons used till today. Obama pandered to Arab allies and shunned black Africa. Bill Clinton and Bush assisted Africa far better. Obama's regime has been a disgrace regarding Africa. Even Obama's brother in America supported Trump. He did nothing for his family. He was scared of associating with Africa. Only in speeches, no action on Africa. |
Chocogold:There is this serious bad belle going on often. You keep hearing "my uncle is too stingy, my auntie is too wicked". Because some at home expect much largess from diaspora relatives/friends. Quite often, no matter how much you assist, they always think what you give is peanuts relative to how much they think you have. Even if you deny yourself certain things just to help them. Most can never deny themselves to help others in such a way, so they never imagine you doing so. Now imagine a man with family in America expected to be a father Christmas. Perhaps paying mortgage, bills, even training some relatives back home, etc. There is a warped notion in Africa of how much wealth there is abroad & ease of getting it. If they then realize the diaspora relative is not making it big or just getting by, the next gossip is how he's "roasting" abroad. The same people themselves may even struggle to feed themselves. Soon they will start parroting how they are washing dead bodies abroad. Only God saves many diaspora people from bad belle people back home. |
Bluetooth2:If true, there are more civilized ways to deal with it. Make them sign an agreement with a specific penalty for violation involved. With a court/legal seal on it. If a fine of say 50m or 100m is stipulated, it will work. Seize their assets or freeze bank account if caught. That will send a clear message. |
Chai, Bubu has wahala o. See people fighting over which King they think is most important or influential. "My dickus big pass your dickus" mentality of our pipu. ![]() I hope after fighting over this matter, your most important/influential king will send servants to put breakfast, lunch & dinner on your table for the next one year. Kings have their roles stated in our constitution. And they try doing that to best of their abilities. |
Thery all seem to be at it. Ripping the nation off. |
Agric revolution began under GEJ. There was no noise about it. People went into palm, cassava, plantain, poultry, piggery, cashew and so on. Including yours truly. By the way, these millions of tons of rice are not in the market so far. Has anyone seen that rice in PH, Lagos, Benin, Enugu, Jos, Ibadan, Minna and such places? Price of rice is still going up. Are we sure this rice is cheaper than imported one? Considering the amount of work that goes into rice farming & loss to weaver birds & the elements/disease, it is not easy to be that cheap. Kudos. We need more of it. |
Eedrix:Very possible. That it is only 25% chance for each baby does not mean that it cannot happen each time. Same way all the babies could have been born without full sickle cell. It is lottery of nature. But you'd expect the daughter of an ex-HoS to be educated/enlightened enough about genotype before marriage. But alas! Four kids with sickle cell is not a joke. Parents struggle with even just one sickle cell child. Those crisis, hospital, seeing the kids suffer must take its toll on a marriage. |
All kings are important to their people. This categorization is rather irrelevant in modern times, though most are aware of the most prominent. Is it based on history, area of influence, political influence or what? Oba of Lagos for example may not have that famous history to draw on but certainly very influential in today's Nigeria. Not to forget Emir of Borno that the British rated only second to Sultan of Sokoto in the North in colonial times. Olu of Warri, Obi of Onitsha, Olowo of Owo, Olubadan, Deji of Akure, Obong of Calabar, Dein of Agbor, Emir of Bida, Tor Tiv, Emir of Borgu among others are prominent too. |
Because they married for the wrong reasons in the first place. For men it is beauty, shape, etc. For women it is economic security. Once they both have what they initially wanted they suddenly start to miss the other things they thought were secondary before. Those become important. This can then lead to disappointment, infidelity, anger, quarrel, etc. |
Ok |
unclezuma:Lol. |
Damibiz:(1)The mercenaries that were helping push Boko have been asked to leave by Buhari. They came with their own sophisticated weapons & knew how to fight at night, thereby surprising Boko. (2) No new weapons have been bought. Those delivered around two years ago are either fast wearing out or new parts not delivered. (3) We have only one proper tank brigade, that of T-72 or so, led by late Lt. Col. Mohammed, just buried a few days back. Because the tanks were so effective, he has been moved from place to place to push areas of high Boko activities. Meaning, he would have to leave some jobs unfinished and move on. So Boko has time to regroup again. Why was no other brigade set up with similar T-72 like the late Col.'s over the past 18 months? (4) Co-operation with neighbouring countries has gone down. Pushing Boko from all sides was crucial previously. But why not anymore? I do not know. (5) The war terrain is fairly dry now. So Boko boys can move more swiftly to hit our soldiers and disappear since they understand the terrain better. The above are facts confirmed by soldiers at the front. Now my conspiracy theory in addition is that the senior Boko boys released weeks back in exchange for Chibok girls probably have some intel about our armed forces leaked to them in detention. They have sympathisers within the ranks of our security services. Even America said that before. They seemed to have taken the intel back to re-enforce and harm our gallant officers. |
Na wao. Very gullible people. |
Na wa o. Could this not have been done in the first 6 months when there were no ministers? They told us Buhari needs no economic team. So that ministers will now be implementing well thought out policies from the first day in office. Hmmmmmm. |
tsilva:Correct. Soon only videos & pictures will be available of pythons. |
People take Bible stories at face value. The stories mean something far deeper than literally. Taking it literally, the earth is under 7000 years old. But we know that cannot be true. Unless you're saying that God did not create everything. Yet carbon dating has shown both plant & animal/human remains way older than 7000 years. Dinosaurs have been extinct for millions of years. So are some mammoths for tens of thousands of years. |
Nice. |
Congratulations. |
DONSMITH123:You're joking, right? ![]() How do you know he has no papers? Some just didn't or couldn't invest in 9ja at the right time (when they were young enough) and have nothing to come back to. ![]() |
Jadeng:Seconded. |
