GN need to become more "local" and shed more of their international toga.
The key to success is to be more sensitive to local tastes, culture and demands. Even regional peculiarities within 9ja.
See the resounding success of Orijin for example. A famous name is not enough anymore when the local economy is biting hard.
They also need to rely less on importing raw materials and actively promote more local sourcing.
Anyway, Nigeria has been one of their most lucrative markets for many years, so they cannot complain about any temporary bleep. |

I can see your veiled religious tolerance for paedophilia. Ese was 14 when abducted and this girl is 17. A massive difference from a legal point of view. Sex with under 15 is compulsorily seen as (statutory) rape while 16 years old can marry legally (under certain conditions) even in many Western countries. Countless 17 years old girls are in 100L or even 200L in higher institutions, how many 14 years olds do you know in 200L? Health › Re: What A Doctor Did When I Accompanied A Female Friend To The Hospital by AreaFada2: 6:14pm On Apr 16, 2016*. Modified: 5:31am On Apr 17, 2016 |
wisdomguy4u: After reading the news about a Doctor At Sayemi Natural science Centre who was accused of Rape, I have come to get the answer to a question I have been asking myself for years about the conduct of a doctor I had encounter with.
It was during my early days in the university , I accompanied a female course mate to the hospital. She was just a friend and nothing more . She was one of the finest in the faculty then. That morning she called me on phone and told me she was feeling feverish, and wants to go to the hospital to see a doctor. Trying to be a good course mate and friend I volunteer to accompany her to the hospital without even asking what the sickness was.
When we got to the hospital, I waited on the reception while she went in to see the doctor . After some minutes, she came out and told me she was asked to wait for a test to be carried out to ascertain was wrong with her. After we had waited for like an hour, the doctor finally came out and request she follow him ( I assumed it was for the test).
After about 10mins, the Doctor came to the reception again were I was innocently sitting and asked me to come with him; I followed him as we went into the operation ward. I was shocked to see my course mate lying on the operation bed unclad from her waist below, with her legs spread wide open . She was given those anesthesia drug that makes one slightly unconscious ( because she opened her eyes once in a while during the operation).
The Doctor requested I should come closer and take a glance ( pointing at a boil close to her vagina; he said to me, "this is what we have to remove". I was still dumbfounded to utter a word. Without wasting anymore time , he cut open the boil and pus began to gush out (my eye see something that day).
About an hour after the operation, she regained her consciousness. The first thing she said to me was "were you there?" I answered her in affirmation. She didn't know if she should hide her face or cry. She was angry with me (as if na my fault) , with the Doctor and everybody. I promised her I won't utter what transpired to any of our class members and I kept my promise.
Since that incident, I have been wondering why did the doctor want me to be present during the operation. I guess I got the answer today; he was only trying to be careful for fear of any accusation of molestation or rape. Probably, he thought I was her boyfriend. He needed a witness.
I think doctors should apply caution while dealing with female patients especially when it got to do with the private parts. They should request for a witness that would be present . The devil can use anyone to bring you down. There is a system in place for that. Another person should be present. A female normally, often a nurse. The witness is called a chaperone. If not in an emergency situation, you perform an intimate exam, if you are accused, without a suitable chaperone, you have no leg to stand on. A respected doctor and family man only narrowly avoided prison on the last day of hearing in court in UK. Some years back. A married woman with obsession of dating a doctor accused him of sexual assault. Just because he rebuffed her amorous approach. She claimed that while the doc was doing an "internal" examination, his facial expression indicated that he was enjoying (sexually excited by) the procedure. Luckily for the doctor, the lady had waived her right to anonymity, so her name was published in UK papers. Another doctor she had pestered before saw the case in the newspaper. He appeared in court unexpected on last day of judgement. The accused doctor was lucky. Legal experts already thought he'd be jailed. The case was bizarre for many reasons: the lady waived her anonymity, possibly to gain publicity. A female chaperone was present, the lady had a wealthy husband and she had no criminal record. It shows that if a "respected female" accuses a respected doctor, even with a chaperone (a nurse), a skilled prosecutor can rubbish the chaperone as covering up for her doctor colleague. |

I can assure you ladies do worse. our reaction is always epical because there is always a bit of barbaric and vicious act to it.
ladies rob us emotionally on a daily basis which is more brutal than what some men do.
when the man's mind is being disturbed his entire overt or covert gestures will be destabilized. Often men are shy to narrate their ordeal in the hands of girls. Instead of empathy, a guy will hear: you must have hurt her first, you are a maga/mugu, you probably have a small dick that she cheated, maybe you don't financially care for her, etc. A guy is always presumed at fault for whatever a girl does. So guys just turn to monsters instead of narrating their tales of woe. |

Because younger ones were even more corrupt. My point is that civil service has been corrupt no be today. It gets worse and worse. Achebe wrote about it in "No Longer At Ease" in the 1960s already. I thought he was 'complimented' as doing well by Obama and some deadbeats practically peed their pants at this 'seal of approval'? Even the thinly veiled sarcasm that dripped from Trudeau's, 'Yes indeed' went right over their dumb heads....
Most of these Western and Asian world powers want a slice or more of Africa particularly Nigeria. Our current Nigerian leaders have failed to realise that the strength n survival of Nigeria comes from within and not going cap-in-hand to beg with our soft underbelly exposed to more exploitation.
Buhari n co ought to have engaged Nigerians and raised workable home solutions rather than creating enmity and causing unnecessary unrest. He ought to have made himself available n ready to listen....it never pays to go begging at an absolute disadvantage! You will only be exploited! That exploitation comes because they see your prospects which a dumb begging President cannot see.
We need the investments from developed countries but we shouldn't be at their mercy the way Buhari has made us out to be! Choosing to address political and economic imbalances including giving the people some independence and autonomy in their governance would have gone a long way to already introduce the much desired development. Military might n force can only go so far...if the people do not buy into and own the process of governance, any other effort is superficial at best and will fail. Thanks for enlightening people..BUT unfortunately, logical & dispassionate discourse are not the forte of people these days. They will label you IPOB, wailer, etc. The messenger will be lambasted and the message binned. |

When you're not there she will jump at them. Maybe she's not fine enough to even attract a not-so-handsome white guy. What the guy wrote there is basically spot on. Many years back on campus, I overheard white guys mocking black girl. Saying how grateful black girls are to be approached by white guys. On two or three occasions. They would keep quiet when I come into view. Usually it would be triggered by a hot black girl that just passed by, etc. Immigrant guys looking for paper marry fatto white girls. Survival. But these black babes dating just any white guy that "says hello" to them are clean, employed, beautiful and citizens of Western countries already. They want to be seen with any white guy. When the white guys have already milked the juicy part, they fall back on black guys again. I am all in support of interracial thingy, but please be selective a bit. |

93damsel: 1. Living in the same room or sleeping on the same bed with a man who is not married to you (it is abomination)
3. Wearing the engagement ring of a man u don't knw his family (you are wasting your time and blocking Goes blessing)
4. Cooking food regularly and washing clothes for your boyfriend (slavery attitude)
5. Disobeying your parents for d sake of a man you are dating (it is stupidity)
6. Giving sex to a man simply because he promised to marry you (haba! Na u be d oldest woman on earth)
7. Sending your unclad pix to ur boyfriend (shame on u that is wot he will tell you whenever u tell him is over)
8. Why will your boyfriend beat u and u saying I can't do without him (hmmm you need deliverance) Don't be too desperate in the matter of relationship as some people will be desperate to read the next number not noticing that no 2 is missing. All things will come to place at Gods appropriate time. What evidence do you have that ladies who did not do all the things you listed end up more happily married in later life than all those who did? I remember talking to a lady sometime last year. She insisted on "a no sex" courtship for 18 months before marriage. After marriage, the guy would go 3 months without asking for sex. Maybe the guy was collecting sex outside all along. I guess after the subpar sex she offered after marriage, the guy was like "mtschewwww, na this yeye sex na him you dey shakara put since?" The marriage didn't survive the third year. She was flabbergasted about why the marriage failed. I just folded my arms and looked at her pitifully. It did not occur to her that missing sexual synchrony was the cause. Some women can keep fooling themselves. They cannot stomach the truth anyway. And plenty of guys are ready to tell them what they want to hear. |
