new2020:Actually they can harm him EXCEPT he has given up Nigerian passport. And he wouldn't have been granted a visa if he needed one. If still Nigerian citizen, Britain cannot intervene if he's in Nigerian territory. But DSS would only make him more popular. That may even be his plan. |
SirJeffry:That's why we have only very few true statesmen. They forget that immediately you are elected, everybody becomes your constiituent, irrespective of political leanings. Abi dem wan make 'Go & Die" their motto? Osho Baba said that before too. The irony though. Nasir who criticised GEJ to no end now cannot take criticism. ![]() ![]() |
tpiander:View points are good. But it should include insulting other people for their own legitimate life choice or providence as the case may be. That is what I find funny. |
Love Machine:Not necessarily true. She certainly has the attributes that attracted Van from that early age. Why do you think she can't do use the same attributes again? |
siegfried99:You dey mind some people. My relatives have married from various tribes for centuries. Princes and princesses married people of similar status from other places. I'm proud of my mixed origins. Sadly on a thread like this you get the feelings people want you to have a single identity only. And hate all others. Very funny set of people. ![]() |
OrlandoOwoh:We generally have no sense of history. Anything historical is seen as primitive. We have a major self esteem issues as a nation. |
Congrats babe. A 1.1 always needs hard work. But Anglia is like Caleb University to Unilag. |

pretydiva:My dear, na raw sexy. If only most ladies would know they look sexier naturally. |
RIP |
LaraiBoluwaji:Lol, I hope you change your mind when you get there. There are only very few things to do for pleasure in old age. Sex is one of them. Remember that sexual urge is a sign of good mental and physical health. Lots of depression patients lose interest in sex for example. In old age we also suffer from insomnia, arthritis and other aches and pains. But endorphin (a natural reward/pleasure hormone and painkiller) comes to the rescue. And guess the best way to boost endorphin production naturally in the body. Sex! ![]() |
LaraiBoluwaji:Hehehe. I trust passionate Italians. Nature is very wonderful. The body adjusts accordingly, especially with regular practice. But it's a big source of frustration for many seniors. They refuse to seek medical help because they feel the doc might see them as perverse to still crave sex at that age. But every health care personnel should specifically normalise it by asking and addressing issues. But you get an insight sometimes. Many senior guys refuse operation for prostate hypertrophy. Because it can lead to impotence! ![]() |
eleojo23:Gbam. In organised places, most post-grad compulsory training are structured. They are just part of training leading to full-registration with the relevant regulatory bodies. It is in public interest that young professionals get this early training and supervision. It plays a very great part in their professional development. Before they are unleashed on the public. Any serious frustration getting this training can spill over to poor commitment/ethusiam in some people. Even ditching these critical professions for banking & oil/gas jobs. Understandably, it's difficult in Nigeria because we have no free healthcare system. A free healthcare system would expand the sector to accommodate thousands more graduate trainees. This is an area the government should look at seriously. |

fajohnson:Morning sir. If it will fly for 450k, let us talk. |
LaraiBoluwaji:Princess, you will be surprised how active people still are in their 80s sef. Some elderly men who seem frail are still tiger in that department. All the viagra selling like coca cola, you think they used to feed chicken? |
Well, lots of brothers gave 9ja babes up long ago. Because of 9ja guys swag, Kenyans, Ugandans and other babes are marrying them like there will soon be a ban on 9ja guys. Not to mention oyinbo girls. Forming make 9ja babes simply lose out. They can keep praying & fasting to get a good guy. ![]() |
onenaira3:Well, when you see people subscribe to insults, hate, tribalism and bigotry, it is usually because they have NO knowledge of history. Any history or emperically reproducible facts based on dispassionate discourse and analysis. I deliberately decided against ignorance and learn at every opportunity. Try it, it's very liberating indeed. You often hear some Igbo spitting venom over Biafra and so called betrayal. Benin people were neutral to begin. Anioma people were still in Midwest cabinet and even still privy to meetings of SMC in Lagos. Until Biafra invaded Midwest and occupied Benin. So, if you people are not solely allowed to write our history, it becomes distortion? Really? Through the Portuguese, the Dutch, the French and the English, Benin history and its territorial reaches were pretty well documented. But hey, we gave them up long ago. But is not the same Anioma that Igbo East of the Niger don't really rally round to create a state for? With them preferring Adada and others? ![]() Surprisingly, an Anioma just became governor of Delta State after 24 years, whereas an Anioma was first Premier of Midwest with full support of Edo people. I still remember childhood family friends from Anioma in top positions in goverment/civil service/Academia in Bendel. The Unukegwos, Ebies, Animeles and more. They did pretty well in Benin and were fully at home. |
snowDiva:God bless you jare. Imagine that guy has the chance to manage cash. His entitlement mentality and ojukokoro could make him start stealing your money. Believing he makes so much money for you yet gets peanuts. He won't fathom the 35% interest rate you service on your loan and the collateral you risk. Na wa for people o. Whatever happened to resigning. |
naijaking1:As for Ikwerre, I do not know. I have not read much about them. What I know is that there were Benin migrants in Bayelsa to Rivers area. Most notably Brass and Udekama/Degema. Degema are even officially one of about 2 dozens Edoid tribes in Southern Nigeria. Any good book in Philology will tell you that about Niger-Congo people including Edoid people. |
onenaira3:You really don't get it. Most people talking here are not even Benin people. But historic vassal anger against Benin is always obvious on threads like this. Sure a former imperial power should expect that. Britain has to live with it for example. Benin won many wars in its time and were quite used to dictating terms of surrender to defeated lands. So in 1897 defeat, Benin knew the consequences. By 1914, Benin had agreed with the British to give up ex-vassal lands. One of the conditions for restoring the monarchy in fact. So nobody is claiming anyone. To what use is claiming Anioma? Absolutely none. We are aware of the difficulties associated with heterogeneity/diversity in Africa today. Civil wars and more wars. Biafra just 45-48 years back. Boko Haram, Cassamance problem, rebels in Sudan, Lord's Resistance Army, etc. We want to remain relatively homogeneous. Infact, a small independent Benin Kingdom of about 2 million people would be brilliant. Though very unlikely. If Benin is so bad as you insinuate, I wonder why there are so many Aniomas in Benin. I even have some as tenants. People should carry their anger and bigotry elsewhere and park well. NOTE: I know people hardly read these days, but please read the book written by Olaudah Equiano also called Gustavus Vassa The African. Published in 1789 titled "The interesting Narrative of The Life of Olaudah Equiano. He was a freed slave who became an anti-slavery campaigner. In his book, he identified himself as "a citizen of Benin Kingdom and of Ibo tribe". |

bokohalal:Actually very well-known to hobby historians and enthusiasts. There were many other schemes. In 1914, Ado-Akure people in Eastern Yorubaland were refused journey to Benin to offer tribute to Oba Eweka II upon coronation. That had been the tradition for centuries. That was to cut off ties with kilt and kin outside core Benin area. Whereas it was normal to chose the Iyase (traditional prime minister) of Benin from Akure, Brass or other areas with Benin descent people. Okoro-Otun and Otokiti come to mind as previous Iyase. This ensured Iyase's independence from the elite/chiefs and dukes and he represented ordinary Benin people before the king. Anyhow, in keeping with that tradition, the current Iyase is of Urhobo extraction. People fail to realise just how sophisticated and balanced ancient Benin politics was. |
bokohalal:Well, there's always this Benin-Esan rivalry. Esan feel they were oppressed in imperial times. Funny enough Esan actually had high ranks in Benin imperial army among other positions. Benin paid a very high price. Because it was perhaps the most formidable and biggest southern obstacle to British colonial ambitions to own land from Lake Chad all the way to Niger delta/Atlantic. In fact British rulers in Benin Province from about 1900 refused to build schools in Benin. Despite Benin being the most lucrative province in the South, due to rubber for emerging car industry to make tyres. They claimed there was no money to build school. Even residents of a prosperous community then called Oghada volunteered to pay to build a school to educate 100 of their sons, yet the British refused. Instead, they said students should be sent to Calabar for education. Remember, Ovonramwen was still in Calabar exile then. Was that a careful plan to deport more Benin people to Calabar wondered Benin people. Yet, the British built schools in the less rich Warri/Asaba areas of then. The British resident rulers had sent a secret memo to London to say why: Educating Benin people means making the mistake made earlier in Lagos Colony & Sierra Leone. Those educated at Fourah Bay College & Lagos schools had become the biggest opponents of British rule. Considering the anger over deportation of the Oba, if Benin are educated, they would become very difficult opponents of Britain. Benin has never really recovered from the deliberate British evil schemes to greatly reduce Benin influence. And of course now just another minority tribe in a winner-takes-all polity we live in. |
Ugomba:FYI, The Edos are not forcing anyone to be part of them. Edo History, culture & civilastion is well known worldwide, perhaps one of the best known in Sub-Saharan Africa. But people can chose to twist history if they wish. Having lost the war against the British in 1897, Benin people accepted their fate of losing empire. Upon restoration of the Monarchy 1914, Benin people accepted to end claims to territories/vassal lands in Eastern Yorubaland & Delta/Western Iboland, etc. Benin people have moved on. So nobody should be stuck in the past. Anyone can claim to have come from Mars originally if it makes them happy. ![]() |
