I'm not a French-hater, Olodo. I just want the Africans in their team to play for their fatherland. Merci Beaucoup.
.I will not stoop to your uncouth level. We now live in a global village. Anyone can choose to represent country they're eligible to represent. Bigotry has no place. Or maybe those Africans/their parents should have stayed in Africa? |
The first thing to be clear about is whether such is recognised and enforceable under Nigerian law. Family law to be precise. In reality it would benefit men the most because in Naija, in at least 70% of marriages, the man is wealthier or earns more. |
Blackman don suffer. Oyinbo dey brainwash us, Arab sef dey do their own, and there are even wiling slaves to help them propagate it. What happened to contributions by African empires? Oyo, Benin, Ancient Ghana/Mali, Bornu, Buganda, Zulu, Ashanti? |
Jesus never said that true Christians will be popular or be friends with presidents, politicians or have big worldly positions. Instead true Christians would the loathed and persecuted. I am no JW but if there are any Christians that at least try to practice what they preach, it's JWs. Of course there would be some black sheep among them, even Jesus couldn't prevent ONE EVIL one among the twelve. |
Nomski & Isale gan of French haters club You need to remember football history. FIFA was set up by the French. Ever heard of Jules Rimet cup? No? That's the official name of World cup. Guess who set up the European Cup. Ever heard of Baron Pierre de Coubertin? He set up modern Olympics in 1894 at Sorbonne in Paris to usher in 1896 Athens Olympics. @Isale gan, have you ever expressed gratitude to the French for all these international sports you now enjoy? Learning francophobia from our British colonial masters is one thing, being aware of history and being objective is another. I still remember how the British press rubbished the French squad before 2000 Euro cup and 2006 world cup. We all know how far they went. The French resolve their dispute in a less ordered way compared to German "Konsenz" but that's how they are. Only Spain has been more successful in football than them in the last 15 years. |
In fact England tried. I was expecting it to be Ger 3 Eng 0. Elsewhere you have to see that immigrants are not that bad for a country as it has become fashionable to believe recently because children of immigrants delivered 3 goals for France yesterday to overturn their 2: 0 defeat from first leg to Ukraine. |
inexperience might just be BF's undoing |

DailyNews: Very far from it Area Fada....I was only trying to help guys understand the need for them to evaluate themselves before making move to woo a certain girl to prevent humiliation that most guys do receive in the name of wooing a girl.. Fine. I have never stopped to think of class or whatever before approaching a girl. Guess what, over the years I dated more "facially pretty" girls than my better looking 2.1 metres tall friends. As a guy, you can date any non-materialistic, not self-obsessed girl irrespective of looks or class. Why should a guy limit himself because of what somebody else might or might not think? I always believed that I prefer to be humiliated by an amazon of a babe than an ugly duckling. And from my experience in civilised societies, pretty girls are usually polite because they are used to dealing with male attention. They will humbly say thanks for your compliments. They have a civilised way of telling you no, if not interested. |
As a new immigrant to the West with little to my name, I dated middle class Caucasian girls: Law student, Economics student. Later on a couple of professionals from very decent background. What mattered was me as a person, nothing else. If going buy money, I should have been celibate for a few years. At this point, living along such a divide is not what we need in Naija. |
It seems this OP is trying to promote a class society where only the rich and beautiful/handsome mingle and others should please have no aspiration about social mobility. Across Nigeria every weekend, a lot more women from dirt poor families marry into rich families. If men should go by this advise a lot of women forming madam today and abusing their housemaid would be no where. |
Nobody. Eagles were not super today. They had a mature game but they lost the ball too easily at times. One can be punished against a better side. Musa should hold the ball better. It seems Moses needs more games at Liverpool. |
justi4jesu: Hahahah...Area-Fada are you one of my participants? Am on it asap.. Lol. Oui. |
Great |
Igwe, J4J and all the good people here more grease. Very educative thread. @J4J it appears you have abandoned your francophone thread. Lol. ![]() |
youmour: It seems every Nigerian that knows how to use the Internet is a scammer, personally I don't even know any scammers, abeg whia dem dey hide,at the end of the day if this idiots weren't so greedy n fishbrained they wouldn't have fallen victim in the first place,I swear I too like naija joo,u can't scam a small kid wen just learn A,B,C. So u are telling me with all the awareness people still dey fall maga?. Are you not shocked? People like Ph*ck-NL want all of us to admit what we don't know about. If he was in Naija police God help any innocent person he arrests. He will force them to admit they are Hitler or Pol Pot ![]() I only hear/read of yahoo yahoo boys. Where will i know them from? |
This is the exact reason why they will keep insulting us. Stop playing innocent. I know hardworking Nigerians too. That does not change the fact that there are a lot of fraudulent Nigerians in the US. If you came to the US since IBB regime and you keep claiming you are not aware of the nuisances then you are a big LIAR. When I say I know scammers, it doesn't mean I personally relate with them. It means I am aware and I have heard of them. No need to preach to me about how Nigerians are hardworking blah blah blah. I attend PRINCETON so I know. Feigning ignorance will not help anyone.
. I don't live in US. I live in a UK university town where big cars and mansions are not people's priority. Maybe your people in US want to live in 24 bedroom houses and drive lincoln escalade. To each his own. You would be assuming too much if you think you know just about everything. Now listen: I personally know of a Nigerian (an Igbo), who returned about $80,000 that he found and didn't wait for a reward. That's over 20 years now. He wasn't rich himself. In your own world view, a Nigerian cannot do that. |
Continue deceiving yourself. Nobody woke up one day and started picking on Nigerians. If we were clean, no one would pick on us. Yes, not all Nigerians are scammers but there is a GREAT deal of unscrupulous elements. There are Nigerians in NY, Chicago, Houston, Baltimore, Atlanta, doing all sorts of fraudlent sh.i.t. Continue playing the holier than thou crowd. I am in academia and yet I know about all these useless individuals. "I don't know any scammer" - Greatest lie ever told. Lets assume you really don't know any scammer. If you did, would you report him/her? Wait, I'm sure you will reply and say yes abi.. We are just making unnecessary noise. REPORT these scammers and problem will be solved. A 20yr old boy travels to Amsterdam and within a year, he buys a house on the island, buys a range for his folks and builds homes in his villa? There are thousands of cases like this. Rather than report them, all we do is lament about their ill wealth and celebrate them.
. I don't know the crowd you move with. When we left home way back during IBB regime, it was to get the best education there was. Get rich quick wasn't part of our agenda. So people I know are decent professionals. People whose integrity cannot be compromised or they are out of job. If you know scammers please report them, academia or wherever they are. If you don't, then you are just as bad as them. I do not have any interest in where people have a house or where they don't. I don't generally regard any one who flaunts anything. I like a simple life and I have different values. To answer your question: If I didn't report a scam, my integrity and fitness to do my job would be questioned. I cannot spend some many years at uni to throw all away. Simple. |
Amazing that somebody from a country with about the highest percentage national population in prison can go round calling other people criminals. A bunch of pretenders. |
Story story. Let's get real. Nigerians are gradually becoming a pain. We keep saying the percentage of Nigerians that commit fraud is less than 1% of the population yet statistics show that more Nigerians are actually committing scams/crimes. Rather than feel bad and scream anytime an article is written, why don't we DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Every NIGERIAN knows at least one SCAMMER or Yahoo boy or something. We secretly celebrate these idiots. Maybe if we started REPORTING them, the world will take us seriously. Why is that all the medicare scammers in NY, Houston etc don't get reported. We Nigerians know all these people. Either Report them or SHUT UP and let the world continue abusing/degrading you.
. I don't know any scammer. Nigerians I know here save countless lives daily. Saving the same white people making noise now. Nigerians doing the most delicate stuff thanks to good parenting back home and work ethic constantly hammered home. Please change your crowd so you don't go celebrating scammers. |
dan jalingo: righteous America, by the way, where does HARLLI BURTON come from?. No mind those brainwashed by CNN. Naija is not more fraudulent than any other country of similar socio-economic situation/poverty/unemployment, percentage of young people :old people ratio AND mobility both within and without Naija borders. All these vitriol targeting Naija is a veiled attempt to point a finger at Obama's African origins BUT mentioning Kenya would be too direct and crude. Moreover, a lot of haters get orgas.m when they hear any bad thing about Naija, be it frabricated or not. |
Djtm: Most cyber crimes int he world are from Nigeria. I appreciate your hope in Nigeria and your love for this country but *smh* this country is in deep mess atm. It would take a lot of time to clean up the mess. The article wasn't solely aimed at demeaning our image. btw from your post I can assume you're a buti lady who doesn't fully know how deep the sh1t we're in is.. You mean some gullible Westerners trying to connive with a supposed corrupt Nigerian "prince/Minister/CBN staff" to dupe Nigeria of millions of dollars, he/she then get duped in the process and we call them victims? If the table were turned, US would be asking the supposed victim to be extradited for attempted conspiracy to defraud. You say most cyber crimes, give the figures: bar/pie chart, any kind of verified scientific proof. It seems that somebody splashes sh!t on you and you're using it to rub like pomade. |
Don't mind those educated Western fools and ignorants. They just CAN'T resist demonstrating their racism. The worst fraudulent acts have always been carried out by them and their ancestors: Slave trade, colonialism, fraudulent and insider-dealing banks, economy crippling banking fraud, you name name it. TO SPEAK TO A TYPICAL AMERICAN BUSINESSMAN LIKE BERNARD MADOFF, PRESS 1. TO SPEAK TO AN AMERICAN PONZI DUDE, PRESS 2. TO SPEAK TO AN AMERICAN INSIDER-DEALER, PRESS 3. |
Naija should play like champions. Let the antelopes run around like one being pursued by a cheetah. Super Eagles on the other hand should pounce like a bird of prey that the eagle is. Take the chances, score early and create an insurmountable barrier for them. Moses should make his runs behind the striker count and trouble their defence. |
atuks: that is latin not our language do u think d latin people will be happy that their language is gone? u dont know d value of what u have until u lose itLatin didn't disappear as such. It evolved into Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian. Sure we're not now certain how Latin sounded like for real. Moreover scholars still learn it and also in Church (Catholic) liturgy. Many universities offer a Classics degree. African languages with relatively short history of being written can fully disappear. |
luvable sam: When would trabalism ever stop in Nigeria? Gestures such as this are a common place in Nigeria..... You want the truth? It will stop when we're ready to move forward. For now we're still in Egypt. No Moses to lead into 40 years in the wilderness in sight yet. Not to mention Joshua to lead us out of wilderness. |
naija noni: And later dem go say these boys bi 35yr olds.. Don't mind those wallowing in self-hate. Because many of them are dishonest they think everyone is. |
Good idea to curb indecent dressing but as for a special law, not so sure. |
vicoloni: Well, six months is too small for such offense but he's nevertheless an ex convict the moment he steps out of prison. Even if its three days imprisonment.. Yeah right, Ibori had 8 years as a governor after criminal conviction both in UK and Naija. Is Alams not gallivanting about? Bode George nko? |
Bravo to thieving politician! A slap on the wrist for their own crime, eternity in jail for poor man's crime. REVOLUTION! |
hmmmmmmm If on merit, kudos. Only that naija has too many ashawo men in power. I hope they won't further turn married women in financial sector to runs babes. |
