The Police have the right to fire live ammunition towards crowd that don’t obey order to disperse. I saw they used tear gas and they didn't disperse. Next is rubber ammunition IF they have or straight to live ammunition.

They went to Police Station to free their detained members. So Police should hand them over or wait for the crowd to overwhelm them? How many are the policemen compared to the crowd? If you were a policeman serving in that police station faced with that situation, what would you have done? Simple question
Ignoramus! Who told you that the police are allowed to shoot live rounds into a crowd because the crowd refused to disperse?

Since when has live ammunition become a method of crowd control?

Guns are onky supposed to be used by police in dire situations, people peacefully protesting is not a dire situation.

The backward mentality of you Nigerians is something else

An IBo Nation would not be created by Jobless miscreants, brainwashed idiots or illiterates.
But they are Igbos right?

Compare that to your Nigerian nation that was created by white European slave traders.

In 1914, a deranged British lunatic called Frederick Lugardabd his clueless Wife set up a slave labour camp in West Africa which Lugards wife had the honour of calling "Nigeria" after her favourite River.

We Igbos have been trying to escape this nightmare camp since then.

Fighting to go his way with "his people" in a sovereign country... Is that the way to go about it? Don't worry naaa, watch wetin go happen.
How do you want him to go about it? You want him to go and wake Lugard from the dead and ask him why he included Igbos in Nigeria? The sovereignty of Nigeria is a stolen one since nobody ever agreed to fornally join Nigeria.

I once asked an IPOB youth a question
How are Igbos oppressed? and
How does it affect them negatively?
there is no state in Nigeria Igbos living their are not doing very well most time better then their hosts.
In every single state from Kaduna to kastina to Zamfara to Sokoto to Kebbi mention it, Igbos have at least 2 big markets where everyone knows that they dominate there.
Igbos occupy up to one LGA in Kano, plateau, benue etc. In Lagos Igbos have so many streets and estates named after them
So tell me exactly how are Igbos oppressed in this country on what negative effect does it have on them
Let me put it this way. Scotland is part of the UK which is the 5th richest country in 5th world. Scotland is Region, controls its resources, it well treated in the UK and are doing very well.

But Scotland still agitated to leave Britain and got a referendum in 2014. So why would Scotland want to leave a rich country where they have everything?

The answer is independence. Scotland wanted to be in control of Scotland.

So it doesnt matter if Igbos are oppressed or well treated in Nigeria, if the Igbo nation decide that they want to be an independent nation from Nigeria, it is their God given right.

Many will die for nothing, mostly innocent & ignorant people, should the FG give this madness some attention. Was at a bar and some guy was frothing from all sides of his mouth about Biafra and what not, had to engage him at some point, dude was legit blabbing. He hardly understands what he's fighting for. That goes to show that there are tons of people who are like him, but will be at the forefront with banners and flag. Pathetic!
The only pathetic thing here is the Nigerian in you that cant even allow you condemn the shooting of unarmed civilians as all civilised adults should.

When I read some comments on Nairaland it gets me wondering how we got here.

Why would you call a whole tribe funny names (I can't mention here)? Please Nigerians, when did we get here? Don't we have conscience anymore?

We are been ruled by leaders who don't give a damn about us and instead of us to rise in unity, we keep castigating ourselves. Is this fair?
Your problem is that you think we one. We are not one and the word 'Nigerian' is just an imposed colonial name.

Since it's Igboland, why did Igbos abandon their properties in those places and run away during the Civil War?

Go and ask those who survived the war to tell you who owns Rivers.
Instead if saying all this, go and find out the ethnic groups that comprise Rivers state and also find out the ethnic group of the Elele people where this incident happend

Even fish sef dem fit deprive you of if you make too much noise.
You should go and read some international law. Nobody owns Rivers, only land can be owned.

If Rivers could be owned, Guinea would be the owners of the River Niger because they are the source where it comes from.

Got nothing to do with unitary or Regional system. It has everything to do with those who want to quit Nigeria no matter the system.

Britain has a Regional system but scotland agitated to go.

There's also another major problem with Biafra - it is landlocked. Nigeria will totally seal off access to Biafra as is the case of Sudan and South Sudan. Biafra will be dead on arrival should it ever become reality, but then Kanu is smart and is courting the Niger Delta to be part of Biafra for water access but that's not an entirely smart move and he knows it - Niger Deltans will rather have their own country than be part of Biafra.

In the least, as Biafra is being created, Niger Delta Republic must also be created for Biafra to exist and excel for the prosperity of all Biafrans.
There is no single agitation out there for any Niger Delta Relublic so that one is dead in the water.

Let me just assume that Biafra is about Igbos and Igbo speaking people. The Igbos stretches into Benue, the Benue Igbos or Umueze Okoha people, the Ika-Igbo people sometimes called Anioma or Delta Igbos in Delta state and the Rivers Igbos such as Asa, Ndoki and Ikwerre as well as the Ika-Igbos of Edo state or Igbanke.

If all these Igbo elements are gathared together as Biafra then Biafra is not landlocked

Even if Biafra was just the so called 5 Igbo states, it would be landlocked but still have access to the Sea because Onitsha in Anambra, Oguta in Imo state and Obuaku in Abia all have Rivers that run directly into the Athlantic Ocean. There is already a River port in Onitsha. So the issue is not being landlocked but having access to the Sea.

PoliticsRe: UK: Instead Of Arresting Kanu, Defeat Him Through A Referendum. by attackgat:

Nigeria is sovereign country in a democracy. Nothing gets done without the senate. A motion was moved before the Scots got their referendum. If you want a referendum then do what the Scots did. Move a motion in the house
The Scots moved a motion for referendum in the scottish parliament in Edinburgh, not the British parliament in London

If Igbos must move a motion in the Nigerian parliament for a referendum, then it must be in the same Nigerian parliament where Lugard moved a motion to create Nigeria.

If Nigeria cannot provide that then it means that Nigeria is holding Igbos illegally since the Igbo nation was never notified of their inclusion into Nigeria.

Someone has to move the motion for referendum. Buhari or osibanjo can't do it on their own. Talk to your senators to move the motion. Stop blaming outsiders.

What would have worked before all the hate speech will be

1.) Getting the support of your own senators for referendum

2.) Getting the support of the middle belt (shouldn't be difficult. The fulanis have not been good to them)

3.) Getting the support of the south south (they'll be happy to have their own country)

4 ) getting the support of the southwest (not difficult as at 2014 before radio Biafra started insulting us. We were sitting on the fence before KANU called us names)

But after all the hate speech, threats and counter threats. Things are more difficult now but still achievable.

This is a democracy. If you want a referendum move the motion at the national assembly.

Stop blaming others
In other words, we should lick the a$$ of all of you just because Lugard came in 1914 to say we are all Nigerians?

Lol

Nigerians simply dont realise that returning Kanu to jail will only increase his popularity and that of IPOB. Infact, it is going to increase his international reputation as a prisoner of conscience.

I think secretly, Kanu is hoping to be returned to jail. Everybody already knows that the case against him has no merit

Bros, you know why Ibos are not "trusted" generally speaking? because they are not sincere. They will disobey the law and try to justify it. Siddon there and try to justify this, where in the world will you see people dressed in this manner, saluting nnamdi kanu and him inspecting and doing all that with treason charges on his head and understand that if you send for example 3 policemen to arrest kano all these guys will harass and intimidate the police. Also, if there is a sit at home order from kanu, this mofos will harass those that refuses to join. If Kanu says anything in that gathering, if someone opposes, i and you know the person will be shut down and maybe lynched. They are chanting army and warrior songs, and you are there saying its within his rights, ok, i hear you bros. I am watching, we go see naa.
I dont think Nigerians should be worrying about Igbos or Nnamdi Kanu. If we all remember, Nnamdi Kanu is actually fighting to go his way with his people. If Nigerians dont like the situation, they should give Igbos a referendum.

Why is Scotland yet to secede from Britain even after a "successful" referendum"? Why is Catalonia calling for another referendum by October 1, 2017 after the one they did by September 9, 2014? As you are aware of right to self determination, please be informed that there is also right to sanctity of sovereignty of nations. Nigeria is a sovereign state recognized by UN & has all legal powers to protect her territorial integrity & sovereignty. Your right to self determination can not override Nigeria's right to sovereignty. Until NK, IPODB & like minds do the right thing, Biafra restoration will continue as an illusion: a mirage!
Nigeria has a right to sovereignty but only if the people agree. Sovereignty belongs to the people. People must willingly give up their sovereignty for the state to exist, and even when they do, they can ask for it back at any time.

In the case of Nigeria, nobody gave up their sovereignty, it was stolen by the British to create Nigeria. Now some people are saying they want their independence. It us then the duty of Nigeria to grant those people their independence in the spirit of fairness same way Britain granted Nigeria her independence in 1960.

I'm patiently waiting for the "UN" abi Israel come to help y'all get ur referendum date... Be bragging n beating chest , don't advise yourself n these IPOB touts to go via the political route.
Dont use China as an example, China is not a democratic state. I dont see the point Nigerians make when some people talk about secession. Nigeria is just the creation of the British. There was a time we were not together and heavens did not fall. Now that we have been brought together in 1914, some people are insisting we must die together. Very funny.
