LorDBolton:Cure your ignorance. Secession is not a crime, self determination is recognised right all over the world. What might be a crime is the method of secession. It doesnt matter how long it took Scotland to get referendum, what matters us that their right to secede was respected. Spain might have issues with the Catalan referendum based on legality but nobody is denying Catalonians their right to secede. So the method of secession is the problem and not the right to secede. But in backward Nigeria, people have labaled Kanu and IPOB terrorist for asking for secession. They have been shot at, killed, arrested abd tortured. Yet, Kanu and IPOB are yet to touch anybody. Nigeria is the enemy here not IPOB or Kanu. |
I dont see anything wrong with what Kanu has done. He has said that he is not going for any armed confrontation and that all wants is a referendum which is a democratic instrument. Im laughing at these people who have turned a simple harmless IPOB parade into an act of war. If anyone is guilty of instigating war, it is the murderous security agents who have gunned down hundreds of unarmed IPOB members just because they exercised their constitutional right to peaceful protest and agitation. All this is because many people have come to take anything Biafra as war. I have seen OPC do a mock parade and salute themselves in Ikeja, nobody called it war. All this is just propaganda to tarnish the image of IPOB as the peaceful freedom fighting oitfit it is. |
Bishop4real:FYI, secession is not a crime. Scotland tried to secede from Britain when they voted in a referendum in 2014. Catalonia wants to secede from Spain and will have a referendum in October, East Timor seceded from Indonasia. Secession does not make any organisation criminal, what is criminal is how they go about it. Self determination is a human right. So far, IPOB have not touched anybody and they are within their rights under the law to salute each other and hold parades. |
Organs:Well it is good that you are admiting that the Nigerian Army is a terrorist organisation that shoots unarmed civilians. They did it to Shia muslims for blocking the road the COAS wanted to use. If it were a civlised country such as Amwrica or Canada that it happend, the COAS and all the Soldiers who did this would have been in court on murder charges. But we are talking about Nigeria anyway were life means nothing. The important thing to note with Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB is that they have never touched, harrased or killed anybody. It is even IPOB that has been harrased and killed. If some IPOB members decide to wear berets and salute Kanu, they are entitled to do that under the law. No law says nobody is allowed to salute another person or conduct parade. They are not carrying weapons. So people can read any meaning they want into it but they are not breaking any law If Kanu is breaking his bail conditions, it is for the courts to decide when they resume. |
Uteghe:A teargas canister hit an IPOB member in the head? So you dont know that can kill a person just as much as a bullet? |
Sapiosexuality:If Nnamdi Kanu wanted to go to war, he would not advertise it this way for the authorities to know about it. He would have armed the die hard Biafra fanatics and it would start. The man has said that all he wants is a referendum. If some Biafran youths decide to wear berets and take salutes from Kanu, nothing in the law says they are doing anything wrong. Boys Brigade, NYSC, Boyscouts and several others all take salutes, are they also going to war? The mind of the average Nigerian has been conditioned to see Biafra as war when that is not the case. If people take this BSS as some sort of preparstion for war, its a free world, anyone can think what they like. |
Sapiosexuality:I dont care what the video is meant to achieve as long as they are not breaking the law. Wearing a beret with black clothing and taking salute is not against any known law |
Caseless:Dont talk nonsense, is my village meeting a registered trustee? Since when does anyone have to be registered to take salute and and answer to a name such as BSS? You are calling them nefarious but if I ask you to say one single wrong they have done, you will not be able to say anything. |
Arewa youths are just noise makers. They think that they can bully Igbos Igbos with their useless quit notice? Because we challenged their empire of "one Nigeria"? They should have tried another tribe |
PHILipu1:Thats good, that means that everyone should support a referendum where the majority can have their say |
The video was supposed to be a propaganda aimed at projecting the readiness of Kanu and his IPOB agitators to enforce the Biafra dream, by applying force where necessaryThat is your personal opinion, dont make it Kanu or IPOB's opinion. When I was a member of ny schools boyscouts, we saluted and had guards of honour. When I was in the Redcross, we saluted and had guards of honour Even during my NYSC days, we saluted and kept guards of honours which civilians occasionally inspected IPOB gives Kanu a guard of honour which he inspects and salutes to and people start writting nonsense. All of a sudden it is about "applying force where necessary" Kanu is not doing anything you dont see other organisation like the Boys Brigade, Boyscouts and so on doing But because it is Kanu and IPOB, people start foaming at the mouth. The write up was utter nonsense. |
PHILipu1:There is nothing wrong with beliving in the unity of Nigeria, as long as you dont force another person to believe it along with you. This is why nobody should speak for other ethic group except their own. When there was no Nigeria, what we had were ethnic groups. So in terms of Nigeria, an Ijaw man should not speak for an Efik man same as a Bini man should not speak for an Ogoja man. Thats why it is wrong to speak for several ethnic groups in the name of a geogrphical expression known as Niger Delta |
DeHEIGHTS:There is nothing like phoney freedom. Its either a person or people wish to remain in their present circumstance or the want to get out if it. Nigeria is just the 1914 creation of white colonialists. The ethnic nationalities such as Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Efik etc were there long before there was anything called Nigeria. So if any of them feels that the colonial contraption called Nigeria, which they were all forced into by the British, is not to their liking, they reserve the right to opt out. It is called self determination, the right of people to decide their destiny. It is only because Nigeria is not a civilised place that someone will suppport the killing of another simply because they say they dont want be Nigerian any more. Scotland had an independence referendum in 2014 without any noise Britain had a referendum to leave the EU last year without any noise But when the Igbo nation talks about referendum, people start talking about war. Africans are too backward |
Funny how people open threads and say that Kanu said something, only to quote what another faceless person said. This thread was just set up to put words in Kanu's mouth and mislead people |
Bankbio:They did it in Aba, they did in Onitsha, they did it in Portharcourt. Yes it sounds right to me |
Shooting down unarmed people just because they peacefully agitate for Biafra Later, one idiot will come to tell us Igbos tha ONE NIGERIA is the best Nigeria bu obodo Ekwensu! |
Sagay212:Dont talk like a morron. There are many videos of of the Army shooting at IPOB on youtube if you are looking for one. The Amnesty International report on how 150 IPOB were killed is out. So nobody should act like this is something new. We now have a situation were the police said they went to "disperse" IPOB were they were gathared and a picture of one of them with a bullet to his head emerges. How do you think he got shot? An eyewitness has come foward, indentified herself and told us what she witnessed. Even if you dont believe her, what you should say is that the police should do a thorough job to find out how and why this young man was shot, including questioning the alleged eyewitness. |
dee02:Of course we are in bondage and captivity. If we were not in bondage, we would free to declare our independence and have our own separate country. |
BeautifulSE:The picture of the IPOB guy with a gun shot to the head looks real enough to me. |
MXrap:Then it means you dont really care if your Nigerian security forces are doing their job or doing something illegal. Let me tell you something, the Nigerian security forces are not allowed to fire their guns unless they are in a situation where their life or the life of the general public is in danger. How can.an.unarmed person waving a Biafran flag and singing a Biafran so g be a danger to anyone? The reason why this is important is that if the Nigerian security officers are shooting unarmed people unnecessarily, it might be any of us tomorow. Wether it is about Biafra or not wont make a difference, once they dont like the situation, they will open fire. |
cstr1000:True I never feel anything for Nigerian Soldiers when they are killed by Boko haram The Nigerian Army do the same thing to unarmed IPOB so why should I feel anything? Boko Haram and the Nigerian Army both kill unarmed people. |
Amah70:IPOB is popular because it is not into politics, it is into freedom fighting. Holding political office is not what will bring freedom. |
billyG:Is it Kanu doing the shooting? Who is doing the shooting? |
MrHistorian:Yes we know. But it takes two to tango. There is nothing like ONE NIGERIA unless we Igbos say there is. |
moninuola65:Yoy cannot say anything to defend the fraudulent colonial contraption known as Nigeria which you call your country, so you have to start mentioning cameroon to divert attention People like you stole the country Lugard created, and you claimed it as your own You even stole the name "Nigeria" which Lugards wife invented, and used it as your identity. You Nigerians are busy stealing other peoples work because you can never be Ojukwu or Kanu who are determined to create their own nations. Thats why colonial mentality is a horrible thing. |
moninuola65:You have your own map, I have mine. As I said before, the name of the area is not as important as the fact that it will be created by the free will of the people which Nigeria wasnt. What the people call it, wether Biafra or otherwise is up to the people. |
moninuola65:The ancient land of Biafra existed about 600 years ago and covered much of what is now called SE/SS as well as Southern Cameroon, stoping just before the Bini empire as can be seen in the ancient navigators map below. That is why navigators called the Sea board around it "The bight of Biafra". However, more important than the name is that Biafra will come by the agitation of the indigenous people of the land (nobody agitated for the creation of Nigeria) And by referendum (nobody ever voted or agreed to be a Nigerian) Biafra will be far more leĺgal and legitimate than Nigeria because it is created by the people rathern by white colonialists as in the case of Nigeria
|
Okoroawusa:You mean the people your Nigerian Army shot? Do you really believe that the Nigerian Government bought guns and gave the security forces so they can go out and kill unarmed people? |
A reminder that we are still in the zoological Republic where the shooting unarmed people by the Nigerian security forces is a way of life. |
Kulas:In 1914, a certain British chap called Lugard declared certain tribes in West Africa as "Nigerians" Ever since, most of those tribes have been suffering from colonial mentality. One of those tribes not suffering from colonial madness is Igbos. We have been telling Nigerians that we are not part of this 1914 "colonial arrangement" called Nigeria, we even fought a war to drive this point home. But this colonial sickness Lugard brought from Britain has refused to leave Nigerians alone. When we talk referendum, Nigeria talks war When we talk about freedom, Nigeria talks war When we talk about self determination, Nigeria talks war A Nigerian will tell an Igbo man to look for referendum politically when no referendum made any of us Nigerians A Nigerian will tell you that Nigeria is indivisble when there was no Nigeria 103 years ago Nigeria is just a symbol of subjugation, oppression and slavery. All part of the colonial sickness Nigerians suffer from and the only cure is IPOB |
For those who dont understand Igbo or dont have the mb to watch the video, the girl said that the security agents killed an IPOB member without any provocation and and also undressed another woman. She also said something about her goods worth over N100,000 being set on fire by the security agencies. |
