Bimpe29:Is he? What if he is right? What if there are plans by some groups in the North to slaughter Igbos after october 1st There has been many waves of massacres of Igbo the North so this not something to be dismissed. However, if Igbos are massacred in the North again, especially this time around, that will be the end of Nigeria. |
Olabestonic001:Why do you think the North controls Nigeria? Tjat why anyoe who doesnt like the situation, such as Kanu, should agitate to leave. Everyone who calls him or her self a Nigerian is just a Northern slave. |
Theres a chance that nobody will see Buhari until his second term inaugration |
jseRIKI:How do you know he is Biafran? He could be Ikwerre |
I remember that Nnamdi Kanu talked about this same issue recently. He said that when Biafra is achieved, a sovereign national conference will be held where the name of the new country can be changed from Biafra to something else. The name is not likely to be Niger Delta as Nigeria Delta doesnt really signify anything special same as Nigeria. |
allrightsir:Yes the law does not recognise Biafra but Biafra is yet to exist. You are talking about SE like is already exists, it does not exist. If Biafra turns out to be Anambra, Imo Abia and, Enugu and Ebonyi states, then some boundary adjustments will have to be done. Im sure some people will not like the Igalas of Anambra to be taken into Biafra, same as some people wont like the Idomas of Enugu or the Ibibios of Abia taken into Biafra. In that same vain, Im sure the Igbo of the lower benue would prefare not to left in Nigeria, some of the Igbos of Delta and Rivers state would prefare to go with their brothers. Who would want to stay in place where they will be a minority when they can go where they will be the majority? My point here here is that using the states to signify where Biafra starts and stops is not a good idea. |
Deedeedee3:I dont see how Nigeria can restructured. Those who want restructuring dont have the numbers to get it through the national assembly |
allrightsir:When you say SE, what exactly do you mean? The law does not recognise any area in Nigeria called SE or wve SS |
whitebeard:After winning the civil war, where is Nigeria today? Other countries you started off with like South Africa, Malaysia, India etc have all ran ahead of you. But you think God is with you? |
greatiyk4u:Those people you call reasonable personalities are nothing if the people have deserted them. It is the person who has the teeming masses behind him that has the power because if that person tell the masses turn on the elite, the elite are finished. |
That is what all these people shouting restructuring do not know. Where will you get two thirds of the vote needed to pass a bill on restructuring at the national assembly? To get restructuring, it would mean at the house of representatives, the SW/SE/SS/NC and at least one of the NW or NE have to back it up! 5 geo-political zones are needed to get Restructuring! With the core North against Restructuring, it is simply not possible. Anyone hoping for restructuring should forget it, it is simply mathematically impossible to achieve |
greatiyk4u:It is the person who has the majority of of the people behind him that really controls power. |
Autopin:Really? Boko haram killings, herdsmen killings, sectarian killings, cultist killings, Niger Delta militancy. Youe country was messed up long before Kanu came back |
Only a very stupid person will place property and assets above the freedom and sovereignty of his own people |
Points of correction 1) Nnamdi Kanu went to UNN briefly but left to study in London 2) I dont understand what being born after the war has to do with beliving in Biafra 3) Nnamdi Kanu's father is the king of their village, a non political position. 4)kanu's wife is an Igbo who speaks Igbo. Videos of her doing so at IPOB rallies are on youtube. 5) Kanu wants referendum not war. If there is a war, it will be Nigeria fighting for the sake of fighting. 6) There is freedom of religion in Igbo land, so even if Kanu decides to be a confucian, thats his business 7) Nnamdi Kanu never said he is greater than Jesus. That is something someone on facebook said |
Gurumaharaji:All freedom fighters are celebrated by those who wish to free |
wirinet:Dont say Igbos pushed for anything. There is no written agreement or treaty where the Igbo nation agreed to be part of Nigeria. Saying that a referendum is impractical in Nigeria myopic. Even Scotland that has been with the UK for over 300 years got referendum in 2014 to even talk of Nigeria that was created just 102 years ago |
The funny thing is that both men, Chris Ugokwe ana Buhari joined the Army the same day. But in this picture, Chris Ugokwe is a Lt Colonel while Buhari was already a Brigadier General. Does anyone know why? The reason is that when the war broke out, Chris Ugokwe fought for Biafra. After the war, all Igbo officers such as Chris Ugokwe who returned to the Nigerian Army were all demoted which ensured that they could never catch up with their mates from the North and West who won the war |
Restructuring is not in the constitution of Nigeria. |
wirinet:But the unfortunate thing in this situation is no one ever agreed to be a Nigerian. There was never any marriage or a contract. Nigeria is just the colonial making of the British. Since the British have now gone, we should conduct a referendum to know those who want to continue with this colonial idea called Nigeria and those who wish to go a different way |
Just a gathering of people who came to protect their jobs |
GavelSlam:How do you know they havent asked for secession? Havent you heard of RONDEL? |
Restructuring is not in the constitution! So how can anyone be backing restructuring? |
wirinet:Dont you see the hypocrisy of what you are writting? So what you are saying is without 'one Nigeria', millions will lose their properties? Without 'one Nigeria', millions may die? If it is so then 'one Nigeria' is really very bad for Igbos. Personally, I will never be able to understand why people will.be fighting to keep a British colonial legacy like Nigeria together. If there are those who want to go, let them go. As for the South/South. A lot peiole seem to forget that this area contains about 50 tribes including a large chunk of Igbos/Igboids. Nobody has asked all these tribes what they want. |
Ohamadike! |
Tolexander:Where did you think it was supposed to come from? Igbos that have gone to Kano? Restructuring is not in the constitution of Nigeria. |
tysontim:Oh yeah. Austria is just a small country of just 7 million people but Austria is richer than Nigeria. It is better to be Austria, smaller but effective, than to be Nigeria, bigger but hopeless. |
It is important to note that there is a big difference between Igbos and SE. However, it is clear even to a blind man that Nigeria cannot work as a nation. So the alernative is self determination. It is much better for Igbos judicioulsly manage 100,000 barrels in their land than to be part of a Nigeria that is going to mismanage millions of barrels |
QuitNotice:Kanu isnt talking war, he is talking referendum |
cyrilamx:Wrong! Nnamdi Kanu and more importantly, Biafra, I believe in one Nigeria. If Nigeria is disintegrated, its going to cause warWhy should it cause war? Czechoslavakia broke up without war in 1992 without war. Soviet Union broke up into more than 10 countries without war. Even Britain that created Nigeria nearly broke up in 2014 with no acrimony. So why should Nigerians be fighting and killing themselves to be together? and even our fore fathers like Odumegwu Ojukwu and the rest who fought for Biafra acknowledged that they made a mistake. The mistake being that they went for a war without having the necessary arsenal. The result of that war is still telling on us till today. Biafra is just a divided house. You are fighting for freedom, yet you have different units like IPOB, MASSOB, and there’s also another one mapped out. It is just a house against itself. They say they want one thing, but their interests are different. Igbos are talking about Biafra whereas it still comprises of other entities from the south-south. Even Niger Delta people are also Biafrans. So, ethnicity still continues. Running away from Nigeria will not solve the problem. What they need is unity” he maintained.Simple typing the word 'Ojukwu' in YouTube will show some of the videos where Ojukwu said he "proudly led Biafra". What Ojukwu always said is that if Nigeria is run justly, equitably and with fairness, there would be no need for anyone to breakaway. But all Nigerians know this is not possible. That is why a referendum should be conducted so that the ethnic groups who share a common value system and are comfortable with each other can carry on with their national agendas, with or without Nigeria |
This is one example that shows that Buhari is not a democrat. This is the same man who praised David Cameron for respecting the wishes of the British on the BREXIT referendum. This is the same man who said he believes in right of Palestine and Western Sahara becoming sovereign nations. Buhari is such a hypocrite of monumetal proportions. Referendum is one of the most democratic things a country can do, it is even more democratic than elections because in elections people choose office holders, in a referendum people get to choose their fate. The same Buhari witnessed as Britain that created Nigeria held two referendums in two years, one to allow Scotland to stay or leave Britain, and the other, to allow Britain leave or stay in the EU. This same Buhari is the one who is turning his back on referendum. It is important to remind people that before the Nigerin/Biafran civil war started, Ojukwu offered Gowon referendum in the Eastern region to let the people decide their fate. Gowon said "we must all be one Nigeria" and a civil war followed that claimed 3 million people. For the nincompoops who re-echo this nonsense Buhari said that Biafrans should form a political party to advance their objectives, of what use is it? Which Nigerian National Assembly will vote to grant a referendum anywhere in Nigeria? Is it Hausa representatives or Yorubas that will vote for a referendum to be conducted in the SE/SS area? How will the SS/SE get a referendum when the core North controls about half of the votes in the National Assembly? Buhari is a man of deciet and Nigeria is a British created fraud. |
