I'll advise that u focus on ur blossoming biz. It will afford u more time to take care of ur kids. You have a job already and that's what counts. Think of ways of diversifying and expanding the biz. Leverage on ur husband's bank job by seeking further financial support from him. My 2 cents. |
@poster. I'll advise u to wait patiently. I know 'an aunt' with ur kind of story- almost exactly the same scenario as yours except that he left Nigeria while 'aunt' was still pregnant. He came back after 9 yrs (inspite of all d rumours that he was married with kids) and took both mother and son away with him. She married a divorcee a year b4 the guy's return. She dumped the divorcee n followed her guy. Today, she has other kids for him, all of d same father and based abroad. So wait, take care of ur daughter and focus on ur biz or career. |
I would appreciate any info on the procedure/process involved in the gazetting of regulations. I'm drafting regulations for a govt parastatal and would like to have this info b4 the gazetting stage. |
you took the words out of my mouth fuke: Brilliant |
I advise she keep the baby. Marriage is full of challenges (job loss, infertility, disabled/sick children etc). There are so many women out there who got married to their husbands while employed but few months/years into the marriage, the men lost their jobs. She's 31, has a job and the guy's love. She should keep the baby in the hope that things will change for the better. She shouldn't have another child until the guy gets a job. |

i can see this is an old post. I checked to see if there would be responses from nairalanders as i'm also in such dilemma. Have you considered the cost of building a two bedroom flat? From what i have been able to glean from the numerous posts on this forum on building cost, a 2bedroom (basic with no luxury finishings) flat would cost between 2.3m-3m. Have you also considered the distance of the proposed site to your current place of work? You may also have to change schools for the kids.Buying land is only a step in the building process. I would be glad to read other responses. |

Bariga market, Gbagada (Diya street), Sabo market in Yaba. I'm not considering Alade cos it won't serve my purpose. Any major market on the mainland with huge human traffic will do. |
A shop is needed for d sale of consumables in a HIGH HUMAN TRAFFIC AREA in Lagos. Market places on the mainland preferred. Pls post what you have with d cost of rent and ur contact no. |
It's not fraud. I called him and he gave me their office address. I've been there. It's at 46 Iju road Agege (Rondatoks) |
What type of fruits are you considering and what quantity do you need? I know someone who deals in pineapples. He sells them to marketwomen in Ketu but he sells per pick-up van not in bits. |
This is really sad. May the Almighty God comfort u and give u strength to sail through this trying moment. Pls be strong for ur mum. She needs u now more than ever before. |
Did your father leave a will? If not, what's the nature of the marriage between your mum and dad (customary, islamic or statutory)? These questions are fundamental. |
@stagger. I'm considering this biz and would like to have the manual. I hope it has been updated cos i can see the thread started 2 years ago. Kindly indicate d amount and send the payment instruction to ayandayo@yahoo.com |
Thanks for this info on ekitikan. I notice u took the pains to post this on every thread that he features. U have prevented a lot of people from falling prey to his antics. KaizenO: Please be wary of this guy called Ekitikan (also uses ‘Gade’ on this forum, although he appears to have deleted that ID). He is a fraudster! I am talking from personally experience after responding to one of his adverts on Nairaland. A word is enough for the wise!! |
d7thcaller: Any bizn you will eventually start make sure your dont invest more that N1mil out of the N1.5mil. Keep d N500k as backup for the capital. You will surely need this my advice. GluckThank you for this piece of advice. I never thought of that. I'll put the 500k in a fixed deposit account (alternatively, i may buy CBN treasury bills with it- that bears no risk at all). House, Please i need biz idea on N1m now. Thanks. |
I'm about to take a bank loan of N1.5 (to be repaid over a period of 4yrs)using a part of my salary as collateral. I would appreciate any biz idea that can yield some profit and also guarantee repayment. Much as i would like to invest, i don't want 2 put d family income in jeopardy. Any good biz advice would be appreciated no matter how time-demanding as my hubby has much time on his hands right now. No online biz please. |
Are you for real?I'm planning to get a vanagon volkswagen soon. You've itemised all my fears abou this biz. Can i have ur contact details, phone no and physical address |
Feelamong, i'm interested in treasury bills. i've sent u a mail |
Interested in buying. How much is it going for? |
Abeg job seekers, if u av an opportunity to write a test pls do even if u weren't invited. A friend of mine who works with UAC today wasnt invited for d test (he didn't even apply). He simply followed his friend to d test venue. One of the ogas saw him in his corper uniform and asked why he was not writing. He said he only followed his friend. The oga said 'so u be follow follow'. He got d hint and wrote d test. The rest is history. Today he works wt UAC. |
@poster, a good number of law firms will employ you even without nysc cert. The top-notch firms are more interested in your high grades and advocacy skills. On my first job in one of these firms, i wasn't asked to submit my nysc cert. Also, you won't need a nysc cert if you plan to have ur own practice (except that u won't be able to deal with the CAC on incorporatn briefs). However, I'll advise that you obtain a nysc cert (either exemptn or discharge) just in case u decide to work for the govt in future or for a private organisatn with a strict stance on the subject. |
Hmmm some even have senators as source. Na wa! What happens to those wit no contacts at all? Well, God dey |
Thanks. Due note taken |
I forgot to add this- u need to build a very strong social network. Start now! That's as important (if not more important) as the 'good grade'. |
I studied law at the University of Ibadan. However, i'll advise you complete ur studies in OOU. The law curriculum is the same all over Nigeria and all law faculties are regulated by both NUC and Council of Legal education. Just ensure u finish with a good grade. U will also get the chance to meet other law graduates (both local and int'l) when u eventually get to d law school. There's more to law practice than d four walls of a university. I've met a number of OOU law graduates who are doing quite well in practice. Stay in OOU and focus on ur studies. |
I lived in Capetown for a year while studying for Masters. Beautiful city! It is relatively safe but avoid the following areas- Gugulethu, Kayelitsha and Nyanga. They are black ghettos with reported incidence of xenophobic attacks. The coloureds live in areas like Bellville, Delft, Mitchell plain and Belhar. The coloureds are friendly but avoid walking around those areas at night. Some of my colleagues fell victims of armed robbery attacks while moving around those areas at night. The safest areas are the white dominated areas like parklands, protea hills etc. Avoid the trains as much as u can. If you must board trains, avoid coaches with only few people. Infact, sit in crowded coaches. The public transport system is poor. I advise you buy or hire a car. That will help a great deal especially at night. |
Yes. This site is a blessing. I got a temporary job on dis site which sustained my family for 2 good months. I also got another job via nairaland b4 my present job. |
@poster 'omo baba oni gas'. You've started again. When will you stop brooding over your inability to secure admission into a first generation school? You can top up your degree in any of the ivy league schools if your parents are as rich as you claim. Yeyenotu |
