Gunnerz......you know what to do.

This shutting down is long over-due. I remember someone posted pics of Ladipo market once on NL and a lot of people were quick to start pointing fingers at how dirty Lagos is. Now LASG is about to take decisive measures and some people are still complaining. Frankly, filth is not the only problem there but criminal traders are also plentiful there. The population has to be reduced there to give the market a saner face. We are past year 2000 and heading towards year 3000 and some people still want to defend backwardness, force is the main Language a lot of Nigerians understand. If you don't treat them like animals, they'll never learn. |
onitshaigbo: What you said is true, but the problem is that there are many many markets that violate state laws. The state government however is only closing down those that are dominated by Igbos.R u serious?? Where where you when Mile-12 and Ketu market were closed due to filth?? Or when Mushin Market was closed?? This is what happens when someone that lives in Onitsha gives you a report of what's going on in Lagos. |
Nightshift: Lagos is filthy as the word is. If that is how clean a City with annual GDP of about $50 billion can be, i'm sorry i cannot buy that. So what's producing the perhaps over 20 billion mosquitoes in that city? You don't stay in Lagos. I'm sure of that. |
Nightshift: After Alaba, Ladipo is the second most important market for Igbo traders in Lagos. Personally, it smells like ethnic cleansing in the making. In a very filthy city like Lagos, one wonders why Ladipo is being made a scapegoat in this particular situation.Lagos now has an effective waste disposal system that has being in operation for roughly 5years. I can assure you its now far cleaner than your state. Its locations like Ladipo and Alaba that still gives people the impression that its still dirty. |
I just finished chatting online with someone and our topic was the recent robbery in Anthony area where some robbers came with AK-47s....to vandalize cars. Its now serious biz and we know their patrons are hidden amongst the spare-part traders in Ladipo. My parting shot was "That Ladipo needs to be santized". Lo and behold, i open up Nairaland and i spot this topic. |
Seeing how this arguments have gone back and forth is an embarrasment to the Igbo and Nigeria as a whole. Who has ever seen Indegenes of Lagos and Ogun state or any other Yoruba state insulting themselves like this ![]() |
@ Sincere Nigerian. Look at the kind of people you attract....People like @ Oily Yoruba. You deserve to attract better people. |
Sincere 9gerian: Sorry, this thread is not about performance of federal or state govt. Read the topic again. You opened this thread to gloat over the future of Fashola's political ambitions. My outburst is as a result of past threads you've started to discredit him. To have a feel of LASG, all i need do is walk out of my house to see the signs they've put to indicate street names(very minor but its 30secs from me). To have a feel of GEJ's administration, just put out the generator and there's no light, I'm buying fuel 2morrow for my car and the price got increased under his watch, and the freaking FG roads I'll have to drive on!!! |
With the bad state of all the Fedral Roads in Lagos....Oshodi-Apapa, Badagry (Its even the Lagos State Govt that's fixing that one up for him), The Lagos state Govt also helped FG fix Ikorodu rd, Abeokuta express rd. All the Fedral roads in Lagos state are a mess and you still have the guts to come and start singing his praises in our ears?? Asking for Fashola's acheivements?? Do you live under a rock?? Are you blind?? |
I decided to keep an open mind on your pictorial thread dedicated to GEJ's Administration and what do we get?? Weak, uncompleted looking projects...very uninspiring works. Did you expect to get Nigerians excited with those few projects?? We know GEJ has some good intentions but he's not inspiring. If its someone like GEJ that gets your juices running.....man, I'm sorry to say this but you lack exposure. |
What's your obsession with him. We Lagosians know he's not perfect but he's the best Governor in Nigeria. Why do you deny this?? Do you enjoy wallowing in mediocrity?? A couple of patched highway roads, Airport refurbishments and refurbished railway lines.... Is that all you think you deserve in a Nation as blessed as ours?? |
Viewing this topic: ba7man(m), Sincere 9gerian, lanresz(m), edoyad(m)......Still waiting for a reply. |
Dr Ifeanyi, What is your obsession with Fashola?? Why always him?? You don't stay in Lagos so why do u always bother about him?? Is it a curse?? Or an attraction?? Or he gives you a hard-on?? Pls, answer. |
teskyg: @ Bluetooth abi na wireless sef,the truth is always bitter.People plying that road pay their Taxes to Fashola. All the Buses including BRT remit to Fashola. Some part of that money should be channel to fixing that road or can you account for what the Money is used for?Your point is as daft as asking the Ogun State Govt to repair the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road. |
Shame on you all insulting your States on a public Forum. Soon, you'll wonder why Ghanians, South Africans and other people on NL insult us meanwhile We gave them the ammo and permission to. From a Youruba man. |
Outstrip: What makes the car worth millions. Can he also have sex with it. People will believe anythingThat is one of the Fastest cars in the World. It has a top speed of 420km/h. You're dad's car's top speed is probably 240km/h max. It's so fast it needs air-brake technology applied in Planes to stop it. It does O-100km/h in 2.8secs your dad's car does it in 9.0secs. |
No one is ganging up against anyone. All what sensible Nigerians need is Leaders regardless of their tribe, nationality or party that will lead this country out of the mess it is....... PDP has had their day and have proven time and time again that they are a cesspit of corruption...... GEJ isn't confidence inspiring as long as they keep releasing Boko-Haram members under his watch......, Corrupt politicians continue to reign supreme under his Govt....., always resorting to prayers and neglecting action......, always condemning terrorist attacks without carrying out decisive actions to bring it to an end....., he radiates an unconvincing aura and he acts lily-livered. We need a strong decisive leaders that are clearly motivated and result oriented. |
I'm not an Arsenal Fan but i like how Arsenal is being written off in this match. I won't be surprised if Arsenal spring a surprise through Walcott. |

Moderator!!!!....Pls move this thread to the Romance Section. Thank you!!! |
My friend drives a 2002 Volvo S80 T6(with the twin turbo chargers). Very luxurious car and fast in the upper rev range. Lovely car but availability of parts is the problem. |
In this situation, there are 2 kinds of people.....(1) Those that sit down and criticize b'cos they have nothing to offer (Other than criticism) and (2) Those that recognize the problems and provide solutions...... Now which category do u belong ![]() |
tim107: imf and world bank are owned by rothchild look at zimbabweTrue, Mugabe was rather direct with how he handled them but from the results, we see they weren't going to give up their economic stronghold on the country without a fight. That's why i belive Mandela was wise with his negotiations with the whites. Freedom of the South African blacks was the immediate priority at that period. That. Freedom can't be bought with Money. Yes, the Whites still hold the Economic key to S.A but the Black populace now have access to a Wide variety of opportunities now to develop themselves and with time and the right decisions, they can wrest a larger portion of the Economy from the Whites. |
tim107: dats the same reason africans will die in poverty for many years to come.Knowledge is spreading fast amongst the black populace of Africa so i'll have to disagree with your point. Those that choose to wallow in ignorance and those that look up to a higher system (Eg Their Government, White Corporations) to provide for them will remain pawns and are likely to remain supressed. By focusing on the people and providing solutions to their problems will help an individual rise and he will in turn pull people along with him. |
