TippyTop: Dangote is presently owing N150bil big ones but he comes from the untouchable tribe. How many times will you be told that Dangote is servicing his loans on time? You can't take over the properties of someone who is paying back based on the terms of the loan. His younger brother Sani Dangote had his business taken over by the same AMCON a week before Murray Bruce. Same with Jimoh Ibrahim. |

kingviny: At 30% interest per annum, Senator Bruce is expected to be paying over 3 billion annually. That in itself is killing. If you dont enjoy monopoly like Dangote or if you are not into big time contract runs, it is very difficult to meet up with repayment obligations .
Seeing this, AMCON should have administered justice with mercy to encourage this iconic entrepreneur. Instead of this big disgrace of his brand, they could have taken over behind the scene. The businesses should still have been allowed to run for the sake of the brand equity and for the sake of the employees.
Mr. Bruce's business (entertainment) is a very viable business. If its management are changed and the group privatized, AMCON can still realize a lot of money from this while still retaining 51% of Silverbird group stocks. With what they have done, they have made this going concern un - attractive . No investment holding entity would want to buy SILVERBIRD ventures (bad publicity) and as things stands, thousands will once again loose their jobs. How much can AMCON realise if they are to sell just the building instead of the business?
AMCON money is Nigeria's money, they should act by helping and not by destroying. AMCON has destroyed the SILVERBIRD brand, they have really bruised the Bruces. Excellent comment I totally agree with you on this. You really made common sense. |

For goodness sakes pls do your homework before spewing ignorance online. The so-called Aisha Buhari gave evidence in court against US Congressman William Jefferson. She was a key witness to his conviction that's why she was given prosecutorial amnesty. Plea deals and suspects turning state's evidence are very common in the US justice system. Deepfreezer: this might be another cover up Mr Ribadu Haba Haba........ Mr Ribadu claimed that the imposter Aisha Buhari lives in the US.... if it is a public knowledge that the imposter lives in US... my curiousity if truly the Aisha Buhari lives in America, the US government is more intelligent enough to have arrested her & prosecuted her along with the convicted Senator William Jefferson, or Mr Ribadu wants to lie to us that only the Nigeria govt can arrest & prosecute a Nigeria even if the Accused commit a crime like this....... Nigeria is indeed in serious Trouble with the likes of this Mr Ribadu |

nonsense as usual coming frm a suppose "medical doctor" bro, I kept repeating it, I dont know how u were able to pass through medical school, u reason like a KIDDO, I'm sorry to say, Fayose Vs Aisha Buhari, now Fayose has been able to proof his case beyond every reasonable doubt by way of coming out with a proof, all that is need is for the anti- corruption agencies to come in an investigate, this is why the people have been say, the fight against corruption is a one sided, wat is wrong if EFCC comes in? Is it becos it is a president's wife that is involved? Where is the rule of law, wen we need it? It is unfortunate, dat "thieves" have grade in the country called Nigeria. You need to hang your head in shame if you actually believe any of the nonsense you've written in that post. What a disgrace to common sense. Fayose has proven what? And does proof need to be investigated? Investigation comes before proof and the proof is conclusive that this so-called Aisha Buhari is not the same person as the current First Lady of Nigeria. |

Politics › Re: Do You Regret Voting For President Buhari ? by babadee1(m): 11:25am On Jun 21, 2016 |
helphelp: Hello guys,
The idea of the above topic is not only to get a "yes" or "no" response. But to also know your reasons for either answer.
As for me, I expected so much from this government, as I honestly voted them wholeheartedly.
But, at this point I must say I want to believe in this famous quote "the devil you know, is better than the angel you don't know".
My basis of regrets are quite much but can be limited to the below:
1. Low power outage
2. Job losses
3. Increase in PMS which in turn increases transportation
4. Unresponsive attitude towards fulani herdsmen attack
Please note that, the above is my own opinion. I've heard people say "it gets worse before it gets better"...then I ask, for how long...it's a different thing when steps are glaring to make things better...
And if you must know, I have really studied this government's approach towards passing policies, but I'll only discuss two of it...the subsidy removal and floating of the Naira.
The Fuel Subsidy removal
In simple terms, the present day government stretches the hardship to get PMS...unending scarcity of the commodity, forcing the populace to adhere to outrageous black market prices, get them to be used to it and then they remove subsidy and they take the messiah stand.
Remember for some, the N145/litre is like making the black market price they are used to legit, so all they want and cry for is availability of the product.
Floating our currency
We know the Buhari led government has been adamant to devalue the Naira, so businesses had to struggle, some close down over a period of 16 sad months of stubbornness.
Anyways, fast forward to Monday...just like the PMS, people are so used to N380 to a $ that they forget already that in plain terms dollar has shifted from 197 to 288 (devalue with sense)...all they focus on is the parallel market...to all, government is the messiah again to have brought up a policy that gave the Naira strength. N380 to N288 is a big deal isn't it?
To be honest, I can't wait for better days. But I know it could have been better with another person at the elms of affairs. Be it KOWA or any other party
Please let's here from you guys as well...
NB: pardon any typographical error, as I typed all these hastily to get back to work (Na lie oooo, na sleep I dey sleep so) No. It's silly to start judging a four year term within the first year. By that standard Obama's presidency would be an abject failure. It takes time to create systemic changes on a national scale. Let's revisit this issue in another year or two. |

If u realy know the meaning u will know that is not in his dictionary, he can turn around your economy situation around for good. Why won't a good bussiness leave to where his investment is safe. Look at what your economy turn to under PMB, not everyone is a zonbie. I need such as a client, rather than waiting for a pertisan and clueless government You are a perverse, wicked and evil person. This man took 35 billion naira of free money from the mouths of hungry Nigerians and diverted it to Ghana. Money that he did not work for. Money that he was freely given with no strings attached to save his crumbling airline business. He hides the money away in another country, the airline business ends up collapsing and thousands were laid off without paying their salaries and entitlements. Anybody who defends someone like Jimoh Ibrahim deserves the same punishment as him. |

This one is another northerner that has diverted funds again. Please take a look at fp and see how many easteners are bein questioned by efcc. Jimoh Ibrahim is not a northerner, he's from Ondo state. Is Fayose going to be a governor forever? No. There is nothing in the section of the law quoted which prevents EFCC from freezing a governor's account in the process of an investigation. Once his tenure is over the case against him can proceed and he can be charged to court. |

SailorXY: Show us the developed country where a serving officer is abducted in his line of duty, made to cough out 'fines' & detained without trial with your oyinbo mentality. People like see no faulty as long as godBuhari oversee it. You probably never left your local government before. Is he the only AVM in the airforce? Were any of his fellow officers "kidnapped" or "witch-hunted" as well? Was there not a petition? Was there not an investigation? Was a prima facie case not established against him? And was he not charged to court? You're talking as if he was suddenly ambushed one day and unlawfully kidnapped. The EFCC is a law enforcement agency created under appropriate Nigerian laws. They don't kidnap innocent people, they arrest suspects like all other law enforcement agencies. The Nigerian case is unique because the judicial system is so twisted and corrupt. Instead of pushing for a conviction, the EFCC has strategically decided to advocate for out of court settlements, resulting in the return of stolen funds and closure of the case. If the AVM is truly innocent as he claims, he can refuse to bargain, stick to his guns and wait for his day in court. |

I can't even blame most of these civilians calling themselves EFCC, abducting an officer in course of duty to country. I'm sure he was alone @ the time. anti-corruption fight my foot. ojialo: I pity Nigeria youths, so for someone who is working for over 25yrs can't have up to 40M in his or her account? Smh! Or he has no right to engage in other businesses? Only lazy people ask such questions. My friend go and read the code of conduct for military service. They're not allowed to engage in any private business while they're in active service. Their attention must never be divided. Then look up their salary scale and do the calculations yourself. By the way the whole point of asking questions is that suitable answers are expected to be provided. If the man had a legitimate explanation for the source of his wealth there's no way the EFCC will be asking him to return the money. |
