aloziedaya: Yes I know how difficult things are in Nigeria right now. Everyday I read and hear from the media news and articles about Nigeria that trouble the heart. Life in Europe is better in terms of basic needs as humans, but socially it has decayed beyond imagination. The future of our children is at stake here socially and morally. The western culture is eating deep in our children. So I'm considering bringing my family down to Nigeria to train them in our own culture. Do you think I'm making a mistake? Please your candid advice. For the sake of your children you better not do it. You can train them in our culture over there too. Just put in the extra effort. |

Proudly five percent. Pastor Ben Akabueze is not part of the so-called 5%. He is a loyal, long standing Tinubu boy and I can assure you that he voted for Buhari. Intelligent people do not define themselves by their collective tribe, instead they define themselves by their individual achievements. Pastor Ben knows what side his bread is buttered on. Please leave him alone, let him enjoy the fruits of his labours and his achievements. |
Politics › Re: Why Is LASG Investing In Rice Farming In Kebbi And Not Cocoa Farming In Osun? by babadee1(m): 12:38am On Jun 09, 2016 |
ZombieNation: And what's stopping them investing in rice farms in their region?
Secondly, how can rice production diversify your economy? Can Nigeria compete in rice exports with the likes of China, Japan, India and co?
Why not invest in what you knew how to do best which is cocoa farming.
You have the climate and conducive environment to farm cocoa which will yield more revenue than rice.
So why not invest in your cocoa sector? The rice is for consumption in Lagos not for export. Leave Lagos state for Lagos state to govern. Maybe your state govt might appreciate your advice. |

mmsen: Human beings will always have differences and until they confront them they will linger. As painful as war is it allows people an opportunity to establish an order and release their anger - it sounds unpleasant but that is the unfortunate truth. Just as it isn't good for individuals to stay pent up, the same is true for individuals.
People have the right to self-determination, as per the UN. Borders are typically made by men and should be redrawn by men if need be.
You say that South Sudan was better under the old system but in the long run, they will be better. Nothing worthwhile happens overnight and this current generation may not get to benefit but the children and grandchildren will be better off once a system has been put in place.
By your logic Singapore should have remained anchored to Malaysia because secession is not the answer (actually they were booted out of the union). Likewise the United States should have remained a British colony because nations should not look to break away. History shows that your assertion is wrong. Nations need a commonality to work - the experiment that is the European Union, a system designed to stop the Europeans from slaughtering each other is floundering as a result of their numerous differences.
As for Nigeria, the southern states are already better off in every indices and would excel if left alone by the north that favors a destructive unitary system of government. How much better would they be if the north went its own way? Who would suffer? Certainly not the south. With all due respect my brother, the examples of the United States and Singapore are not relevant because those were not secessions. The US fought for independence from Britain and Singapore was kicked out of a brief union with Malaysia which lasted only two years. By the way, the break up of the Czech and Slovak Republicans is also not an example of secession. That was a negotiated separation. The problems in the European Union are not related to secession either because they are a union of already sovereign states. Examples of secession are what happened in the south of the United States during the civil war between 1861 and 1865. I'm sure most Americans now agree that it was a terrible mistake. Also recently, Scotland voted not to secede from the United Kingdom. People now realize that bigger is better in today's world in terms of market size and political influence. Whatever problems Nigeria may be having, the solutions can be worked out and breaking up the country does not have to be one of them. We as a country are by far greater as a whole than the sum of our parts. We really have nothing else going for us apart from our size. The oil is becoming useless. However, a large cohesive economy will always be an advantage. |
Politics › Re: Waku: "Drink Your Oil, We Would Eat Our Yams", Arewa Chieftain Tells Niger Delta by babadee1(m): 5:28pm On Jun 06, 2016 |
mmsen: South Sudan is a new nation, a region that was neglected for many years, whose resources were used to build the north.
But in the long run they will be better off. Their war is not over. They've splintered into different factions fighting a new civil war in their new hardly settled country. The first thing they did was to assassinate their new president who helped fight for their independence. All of this in a struggle for control between so called brothers. Apparently they were better off under the old Sudan. Secession is never the answer. |

mmsen: Sudan is not 'thriving' - far from it. They're now crying to the Americans to life the sanctions that were imposed as a result of their compliance in harboring Islamic terrorists and their abuse of citizens in Darfur.
They were fine when the South Sudanese were financing their adventures but have been in decline ever since the South Sudanese fought and won their independence. And how are the South Sudanese doing? Sudan and South Sudan which place is worse off? |

Crime › Re: Guys Kidnapped 16 Children In Benin City And Slept With Them In A Room by babadee1(m): 4:53pm On Jun 06, 2016 |
GeneralShepherd: In the North, kidnapping of young girls is fueled by ideology that is inspired by a particular interpretation of the Quoran and the life of prophet Muhammadu (S.A.W)
On the other hand, in the south these acts of crimes are not based on any ideology. These criminals are also condemned without reservation, unlike in the North where these acts happen with the tacit support of the elites and religious leaders. Things like that were happening before islam ever came to the north. It's not based on any ideology it's based on human nature because we are all fallen sinful human beings whether north or south. The same judgment applies to all. That's why the bible says; judge not let's ye be judged. |

No problem, when he comes back from his clinical evaluation in Libya of all places he should report to the nearest EFCC office to continue with his fraud case. A court of competent jurisdiction has declared him wanted and issued an arrest warrant for him. Tompolo is a wanted criminal while Buhari is the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
