Gombs: BabaGnoni:Easy tiger, I don't think you'll be able to quote anyone not liking the book or find anyone not liking the book Let me help out here.... What some are doubting is the genuineness, the sincerety, the truthfulness - the real reason for doing the book Why didn't he rubbish or condemn his misleading books such as "You Can Have What You Say!" or "How to Write Your Own Ticket With God" etcetera Some are saying that something smells iffy, just doesn't add up and that it is damage limitation, hence the glaring out-of-character nature of the book |
Gombs:You don't even know the half of it. If you only knew... If you only knew the half, then this "Meeehn..." opinion about the book and the whole matter would probably be different. Like shdemidemi, I too, "I go dey looku and dey laffu-baba70" PS: Hint "monkey dey work, baboon dey chop" |
MY SUBMISSION ON F16: Hyped up motivational hustling preaching "You don't have to be eloquent for the truth to set people free, just share it" - Lecrae The journey on this thread, so far, is about leaving a record of what the real truth is, as we are in the days prophesied, that a time will come when men will not ensure sound doctrine. Hyped up motivational hustling preaching is not a doctrine as such, in reality it basically and simply is a glorified "dog and pony" show. It is a glorified "dog and pony" show because the preaching is delivered with lots of style, but 9 times out of 10, it is done not with real content, hence the sweat, saliva, grunt and hustle needed to successfully or convincingly sell or market the preaching. WoF has many strategies, tactics and schemes all for gaining the trust of the unsuspecting and ultimately their money. Hyped up motivational hustling preaching is one of the crafts perfected well by the WoFists, here is where the use of effective speaking or writing of books are designed to have persuasive or impressive effect, but then often, as earlier mentioned, lack sincerity or meaningful content. It doesn't rely on hermeneutics nor focuses on identifying and applying sound principles of biblical interpretation but relies on the exploitation of figures of speech and/or other compositional techniques People are known to pay serious money to buy the books or watch the preacher prancing about the stage or on the pulpit, and making unnecessary fuss surrounding the "preaching", just to get the people stirred to a state of excitement or fervor and subjected to doses of cringeworthy catchphrases such as "watch this, watch this... watch this now", "sit down, sit down, I've got to finish this..." or the self-conceited "don't diss this when I am preaching good" all for the sake of amassing silver and gold. The tools of the trade used to mesmerize with are "eloquence" (i.e. oratory gift or gift of the gab), "outward appearance" (e.g. creased or gel hair), "dress code" (e.g. white suits, 3/4 length suits etc), "twisted homiletics" or "appearance of savviness", "impressive title/office" (e.g. Apostle, Prophet, GO etctera), "impressive CV" (e.g. letters like Phd at end of name) etcetera Hyped up motivational hustling is a perversed art of preaching and writing books, a scheme or scam used to fleece the sheeple. WoFists, WoF zealots, WoF-influenced devotees, adherents are in it for the hustle, period, in it for the money to be made, selling Jesus TD Jakes and Fireman are on records saying Jesus' is a product and are getting rich using same Jesus as a product. The drama or "thespian talents" (e.g. Chris Okotie's, TD Jakes' theatrics etc) just provides the setting for false sense of security so the hyped up motivational hustling preaching can have it's full impact by setting listeners up like a lamb for the ker-ching slaughter. For they say "His letters are authoritative and forcible, but his personal presence is unimpressive, and as for eloquence, he has none." - 2 Corinthians 10:10 Weymouth New Testament For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel --not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. - 1 Corinthians 1:17 NIV And my language and the Message that I proclaimed were not adorned with persuasive words of earthly wisdom, but depended upon truths which the Spirit taught and mightily carried home; - 1 Corinthians 2:4 Weymouth New Testament Paul is ridiculed in 2 Corinthians 10:10 up there (i.e. obviously compared with Apollos and others), the same happens here too, nowadays, our faith in the undiluted word of God is so low or non-existent that it has been replaced with faith in statures, faith in dignitaries (i.e. my pastor said this, my pastor said that etcetera) Spurgeon once said: "... The power that is in the gospel does not lie in the eloquence of the preacher otherwise men would be converters of souls. Nor does it lie in the preacher’s learning; otherwise it could consists of the wisdom of men..." Hoping they heed the warning and repent, the Apollos of our time, the eloquent speakers, WoFists, need to be taken aside and explained the way of God more accurately I REST MY CASE ON F16, FOR NOW. |

^^^^ Health, Wealth & Happiness Has the Prosperity Gospel Overshadowed the Gospel of Christ? David W. Jones Russell S. Woodbridge https://s21.postimg.org/fx8fvuy13/Jones.jpg Introduction Cindy, an accountant in Florida, listened intently to the prosperity preachers on television. She heard their message, “Be faithful in your giving and God will reward you financially.” And she saw their message—that is, she could be financially successful just like the heralds of the prosperity gospel. Inspired by their message, as well as their example, Cindy sent money to the ministries of Joyce Meyer, Paula White, and Benny Hinn, hoping to be rewarded for her faithfulness. She waited and waited, but the financial reward never appeared. Like many others, she first thought that she did not have enough faith to receive God’s financial blessing. Later she realized that the prosperity preachers’ promises were just plain false. Instead of improving her economic situation, Cindy’s dabbling with the prosperity gospel made her financial woes worse. She ended up having to borrow money to buy groceries. Today Cindy is understandably angry, bitter, and disillusioned. Kevin is also disillusioned. Paralyzed from the waist down due to a congenital birth defect, Kevin wants to walk. When as a boy he heard that a faith healer was coming to Raleigh, North Carolina, he begged his parents to take him to the crusade. The message Kevin heard there was that if he had enough faith, he would be healed; but his hopes for healing were quickly dashed when ushers at the crusade prevented him from sitting near the front, despite his disabled condition. Although seated near the back of the auditorium, Kevin did not give up his hopes of being chosen for divine healing. During the invitation Kevin waved his hands at the ushers to get their attention, but to no avail—they over-looked him, a seemingly obvious candidate for healing. An advocate for the handicapped, Brian Darby observes that, like many others, Kevin’s sense of euphoria came crashing down when the hoped-for healing did not occur. Today, Kevin remains in his wheelchair, disappointed but alive—unlike others who have stopped medical treatments after being “healed” at a prosperity gospel crusade and, in rare cases, have died shortly thereafter While these may be sensational examples of the influence (and failings) of the prosperity gospel, other less extreme examples abound. Evangelical churches are full of people who, perhaps unknowingly, regularly watch prosperity gospel teachers on television. Here is a common scenario: the polished, friendly, motivational preacher asks for money in order to support his ministry; in return, he promises prayer on the donors’ behalf, as well as a financial blessing from God. The viewers then send money because they appreciate the positive teaching and could use a little bit more money to pay their bills. When an increase in income does not occur, however, consumers of the prosperity message often become self-critical, thinking that the failure rests in their own lack of faith, or they become disappointed and angry with God. Undoubtedly, this scenario is played out repeatedly as significant numbers of Christians are influenced by the prosperity gospel. What happened? How did the modern church arrive at a place where otherwise orthodox Christians would come to view God as a way to achieve personal success and as a means to attain material prosperity? In pondering these questions, consider the words of renowned pastor Charles Spurgeon, who just over one hundred years ago spoke these words to the then-largest congregation in all Christendom, “I believe that it is anti-Christian and unholy for any Christian to live with the object of accumulating wealth. You will say, ‘Are we not to strive all we can to get all the money we can?’ You may do so. I cannot doubt but what, in so doing, you may do service to the cause of God. But what I said was that to live with the object of accumulating wealth is anti-Christian." Over the years, however, the message preached in some of the largest churches in the world has changed. A new gospel is being taught today. This new gospel is perplexing—it omits Jesus and neglects the cross. Instead of promising Christ, this gospel promises health and wealth, and offers advice such as: declare to yourself that everything that you touch will prosper, for, in the words of a leading prosperity gospel preacher, “There is a miracle in your mouth.” According to this new gospel, if believers repeat positive confessions, focus their thoughts, and generate enough faith, God will release blessings upon their lives. This new gospel claims that God desires and even promises that believers will live a healthy and financially prosperous life. A new gospel is being taught today. This new gospel is perplexing—it omits Jesus and neglects the cross This is the core message of what is known as the prosperity gospel. This gospel has been given many names, such as the “name it and claim it” gospel, the “blab it and grab it” gospel, the “health and wealth” gospel, the “word of faith” movement, the “gospel of success,” “positive confession theology,” and, as this book will refer to it, the “prosperity gospel.” No matter what name is used, the teaching is the same. This egocentric gospel teaches that God wants believers to be materially prosperous in the here-and-now. Robert Tilton, one of the prosperity gospel’s most well-known spokesmen, writes, “I believe that it is the will of God for all to prosper because I see it in the Word [of God], not because it has worked mightily for someone else. I do not put my eyes on men, but on God who gives me the power to get wealth.” Without question, the prosperity gospel continues to grow and influence Christians. Fifty of the largest two hundred sixty churches in the United States promote the prosperity gospel. The pastors of some of the largest churches in America proclaim the prosperity gospel, including Kenneth Copeland, T. D. Jakes, Joel Osteen, Frederick Price, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Hagin Jr., and Eddie Long. Through the Internet, tele-vision, and radio, the prosperity gospel reaches millions around the world every day. Joel Osteen’s Web site notes that his television program is available in one hundred countries, while roughly one million people download his services each week. Likewise, Joyce Meyer claims that her television program, Enjoying Everyday Life, reaches two-thirds of the world through television and radio and has been translated into thirty-eight languages. Given its departure from the historical, orthodox message of the church, one would think that most Bible-believing Christians would reject the prosperity gospel. However, this is not the case. The prosperity gospel is spreading beyond the confines of the charismatic movement, where it has been traditionally strong, and is taking root in the larger evangelical church. A recent survey found that in the United States, 46 percent of self-proclaimed Christians agree with the idea that God will grant material riches to all believers who have enough faith. Why is this so? The prosperity gospel has an appealing but fatal message: accept God and He will bless you—because you deserve it. The appeal of this teaching crosses racial, gender, denominational, and international boundaries. The prosperity gospel is on the rise not only in the United States but also in Africa, South America, India, and Korea, among many other places. In 2006, the Pew Forum conducted an international survey of Pentecostals and other like-minded Christians. The results of this survey were staggering. In Nigeria, 96 percent of those who professed belief in God either completely agreed or mostly agreed that God will grant material riches if one has enough faith. Believers in the countries of India (82 percent) and Guatemala (71 percent) gave similar responses. Likewise, a significant number of those surveyed asserted their belief that God will grant good health and relief from sickness to believers who have enough faith. When the Pew Forum asked if faith in God was an important factor in people’s economic success, roughly 90 percent of those who responded in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa said it was Read the rest of the excerpt at http://store.kregel.com/client/excerpt/978-0-8254-2930-9.pdf |

You've sussed out the deceit and sham - Hagin was very frightened and worried about a backlash, especially after the book that came out from the fake Pastor who was in jail (i.e. Jim Bakker) Also many, as read from previous post above, do not want to believe the Tulsa Oklahoma 1999 meeting took place They wish the hurriedly put together meeting for the panic stricken written book never happened Let's just thank God for the fly on the wall at the meeting... |
PastorKun:https://s17.postimg.org/opnr01ogf/Assisi.jpg Life of Francis of Assisi by José Benlliure y Gil Etymology http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_mysticism "Mysticism" is derived from the Greek μυω, meaning "to conceal", and its derivative μυστικός, mystikos, meaning 'an initiate'. In the Hellenistic world, a "mystikos" was an initiate of a mystery religion. "Mystical" referred to secret religious rituals and use of the word lacked any direct references to the transcendental. In early Christianity the term "mystikos" referred to three dimensions, which soon became intertwined, namely the biblical, the liturgical and the spiritual or contemplative. The biblical dimension refers to "hidden" or allegorical interpretations of Scriptures. The liturgical dimension refers to the liturgical mystery of the Eucharist, the presence of Christ at the Eucharist. The third dimension is the contemplative or experiential knowledge of God. shaggy007 is of the former and saddling in transcendental PastorKun like some of us is of the latter |
WinsomeX:The book and the site no doubt reveals some of the gimmicks, fakeries, absurdities, scams, etcetera used in the WoF industry but the way the guy is persistently waving "Baba's" book into view (i.e. subtle suggestive advertising) and the pimping, makes it look like they are all birds of the same feather Since "Baba" has passed on, it's no surprise some will be snapping on the heels of the Kenneth Copeland, out of wanting a piece of the WoF empire cake "Baba" left behind which Kenneth Copeland seemingly inherited. |
WinsomeX:The Tulsa meeting was in 1999 and a topic titled: Excesses and error present within the “prosperity” message being taught by the major Word of Faith ministries was delivered to the attendees The book, "Midas Touch: A Balanced Approach to Biblical Prosperity", was written in 1999, expected to be published the following year (i.e. in 2000) so in 1999, he called the meeting with a "Excesses and error present within the “prosperity” message being taught by the major Word of Faith ministries" topic/theme , which according to him or his quote below, was to give them advance warning: “I called you all together to this special meeting because I need to address some error and excess in within the Word of Faith "camp" regarding the prosperity message. I have written a book entitled, "The Midas Touch: A Balanced Approach to Biblical Prosperity", and it will be coming out very soon. In order to avoid strife and confusion among our ranks, however, I wanted to convene this meeting and address these issues with you - the major Word of Faith ministries teaching this doctrine - in person first. That way, you all can adjust your messages accordingly before the book comes out, and there will be no contention among us.” The saying "There is honor among thieves" rings true in this instance, notice the "...In order to avoid strife and confusion among our ranks...". It primarily was about them, their ranks, their investments, their interests etc Yes, you're right, he doesn't miss a trick, he wrote the book after Jim Bakker, to save face, and seized the chance to leave an inheritance (i.e. via royalties) Yes, he admitted a few bad mistakes in the book but he glossed over a great deal more, hence the insincerity claim. It was a sham to start with, not even an incomplete repentance that never produced lasting fruit in his followers |
nora544:Hagin started the whole WoF "name it...claim it, financial prosperity etc" teaching backed up with his outlandish claims or statements and with books such as "How To Write Your Own Ticket with God". Hagin could see that the "chicken was soon about coming home to roost" and soon will get blown up in his face, meaning the WoF movement he started years ago, was turning into nothing less than a pack of werewolves, and fingers will be pointed at him as the architect The wolves, apart from already marauding the church, and gone viral, have now become infected with rabies, and soon will start biting people So Hagin figured, three things needed to be done about these werewolves: 1) Euthanise or put down the "aberrant WoF wolves in sheep’s clothing fleecing the sheep" 2) Give the church a vaccine to use for the "aberrant WoF ravening wolves in sheep’s clothing" fatal bite to protect against infection (i.e. Hagin gave the public a book; titled Midas Touch, written in 1999, published in 2000) 3) Give the rabid "aberrant WoF wolves in sheep’s clothing" a cure. (i.e. Hagin gave the 1999 Tulsa meeting and topic titled: Excesses and error present within the “prosperity” message being taught by the major Word of Faith ministries) Hagin went for #2 and #3, and the following are some of the prominent and well known WoFists or WoF teachers that attended the 1999 Tulsa meeting called by Hagin: Kenneth Copeland (i.e. the heir to Hagin’s WoF movement empire) Creflo Dollar (i.e. Kenneth Copeland's protégé) Jerry Savelle (i.e. Kenneth Copeland's protégé) Jesse Duplantis Leroy Thompson (Absent) Mac Hammond Steve Parson Charles Capps etc Although Leroy Thompson of the "Money Cometh To Me, Now" pulpit stunt fame starring Creflo Dollar alongside was invited to the meeting, he, Leroy Thompson declined and refused to show up. According to Steve Parson, Mac Hammond reported a "comedy of errors" story to the group in the Tulsa meeting attendance, that he, Mac, had previously called Leroy Thompson to find out, why he, Leroy Thompson, was refusing to attend the Tulsa meeting organised by Hagin “God told me not to come,” was Leroy Thompson's reply. “That’s funny,” Mac Hammond said he answered back, and adding “God told me to call you and tell you to come. So one of us is missing it.” You see, Hagin was trying to control the frankenstein of a WoF movement he created before it escapes control and destroys him, Hagin, its creator and architect "sugbon epa o boro but it was too little, too late, too late as the horse had bolted The below is a paraphrased snippet of Hagin's explanation to the meeting attendees: “I called you all together to this special meeting because I need to address some error and excess in within the Word of Faith "camp" regarding the prosperity message. I have written a book entitled, The Midas Touch: A Balanced Approach to Biblical Prosperity, and it will be coming out very soon. In order to avoid strife and confusion among our ranks, however, I wanted to convene this meeting and address these issues with you - the major Word of Faith ministries teaching this doctrine - in person first. That way, you all can adjust your messages accordingly before the book comes out, and there will be no contention among us.” The blue and red above, was Hagin, trying to close the barn door shut, after the undesirable WoF movement horse has bolted Kenneth Copeland's response before the group in the Hagin Tulsa meeting was: “If I am in error in any way, please feel free to correct me.” No sooner had Hagin died, Kenneth Copeland is already right back at his vomit, as Hagin's body has hardly been lowered in the grave before Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar (i.e. Kenneth Copeland's protégé) and others started re-enjoyment and enthusiastically doing something they are best at doing - hustle and scam After watching the below video, determine for yourself whether any correction or not, was taken on board by Kenneth Copeland h t t p://youtu.be/4ArA_2y2zVk Benny Hinn another famous WoFist who once renounced the Word of Faith teachings years ago in an interview, but no sooner he declared abandoning fake healings or WoF "name it... claim it teaching, financial or prosperity gospel etc " teachings, he changed his mind and reverted to his WoF scamming old ways (i.e. the appeal of the strong Hagin's efforts were not enough help to save the WoF situation (i.e. efforts to clean up the "name it...claim it" financial prosperity scams, fake healings etc menace) and his clarion call, done too late, it was Dead On Arrival - DOA, besides, it was also a ploy appearing to tackling the issue but actually the motive was a last ditch effort to make money out of the situation (i.e. damage control/limitation by killing two birds with one stone, appear addressing the issue and making money too, out of it) The WoF movement is a moneymaking machine, a platform and haven for snake oil salesmen running rackets of selling filth merchandise via television and books. It is a hotbed of frausters, hustlers, pulpit pimps, charlatans etc WoF scamming (e.g. "name it...claim it" financial prosperity teachings, healing school scams etc) is still a danger to the public at large Hagin, chiefly and along with his collaborators (e.g. TBN, Oral Roberts, Benson Idahosa etcetera) is responsible for bringing the cult of Word-Faith into mainstream Christianity, while most Christian leaders stood by and let it happen. This is why we are plagued by WoFists like Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Rodney Howard-Browne, Creflo Dollar and thousands of others locally today influenced by the doctrine. |
shaggy007:Yeah, and "PRACTICAL MYSTICISM" by Evelyn Underwood is a holy book Don't get it twisted, Mysticism is a state of mind. The only true religion, acceptable to God is James 1:27 Obviously written to sell to unsuspecting punters. The book is full of hot air, which is why I said it is overrated - 10 Chapters, no head, no tail. Time waster and none the wiser to anyone reading it |
shaggy007:"Holy" in a different context and meaning WinsomeX:Save your breath, the book gives answers like ice has any chance surviving in hell grin That is wishful thinking, which is why I said it is overrated |
shaggy007: shaggy007: bolaino: SalC: WinsomeX: shaggy007: herald9: shaggy007: WinsomeX:I think shaggy007's bottom line was spot on where he said "Mysticism is not something to play with" Mysticism, is Meditation in some or most ways. Mystic is defined as a person who seeks by contemplation and self-surrender to obtain unity with or absorption into the Deity or the absolute, or who believes in the spiritual apprehension of truths that are beyond the intellect. There is a time and place for Mysticism or to be mystified. Abram mystified, Isaac meditated, David meditated, Gallelio mystified, Isaac Newton mystified etcetera. Knowing when not to be delusional or veering into the realm of demonic powers is important. There is a gray line, once that's crossed, then it's journeying into sorcery or witchcraft a-la Saul and the Witch of Endor style. Mysticism without scriptural fall back or validation is harmful and dangerous. Gallelio's (e.g. that the earth is round and not flat as the RCC was making all to believe back then) et al assertions were all along validated or alluded to already in the bible. "It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out" - Proverbs 25:2 KJ Bible Proverbs 25:2 encourages mysticism, it is the abuse or misuse, that no doubt is frowned upon Mysticism abused or misused is scam(s) perpetrated, hiding behind some esoteric false revelation. This is going against what is normal, just to hoodwink the vulnerable and easily impressionable with some "new truth" that has no biblical basis to back it up with. It doesn't set anyone free but instead adds more to the burdens, clips on extra yokes, puts on extra scales to the eyes, further blurring people's vision or sight. If mysticism is done along with the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, then it is a sure banker and can't go wrong. We don't seek answers from any other source except the Bible and validation of the Holy Spirit - Abel, Noah, Moses, John the Baptist, Peter, Paul et al and Jesus were probably perceived as mystics by their contemporaries back then It is a good thread, will be interesting to read or see what comes out of the woodwork about it. IMHO, for all it's worth, the book; "PRACTICAL MYSTICISM" by Evelyn Underwood is overrated http://www.holybooks.com/wp-content/uploads/Evelyn-Underhill-Practical-Mysticism.pdf |

No more of this." And He touched his ear and healed him. - Luke 22:48-51 Note in Luke 22:51 Jesus did not regrow that severed ear but rather He re-attached it back. Jesus on a separate occasion spit on the eyes of one man to heal him Jesus on a another occasion spit on the ground and mixed the spit with dirt, then smeared the dirt on another man's eyes to heal him - Spontaneity. No formula. He simply just did it, for being God that He is. - Wow, Jesus spitting and mixing dirt, am sure, He was re-living the "creating Adam, in Eden" experience, Of course, who wouldnt want their children to surpass or excel more than they did, and it is happening, only that people are expectant and looking for all, some or certain miracles in wrong places As always, some miracles will be at pulpit (e.g. cancer healed, liver regrow, headache gone etc), other miracles (e.g. reattach limbs, regrow body parts etc) will happen legitimately elsewhere (e.g. medically etc) - the thing is everything is bounded by rules. God can bypass the rule, He is allowed but we have to wrought out miracles within the confines of the rules Perform these miracles according to the rules, else, whatever miracles are wrought will be as demonic Pharaoh's wise men snakes So, essentially, I was merely keeping track of the progress and updates that the miracles are slowly but surely showing up What is happening now, 2000 years later, are miracles (i.e. growing organs note not reattaching organs) never done/performed before Aw c'mon now, when crying, tears doesn't impair ones vision now, (i.e. ti a ba nsunkun, a ma riran) We all grown and should've been taken off milk long time, and already be, by now cutting our teeth, gnawing meat Also it was once advised, to research into Greek Aorist participles to understand and know the implications, meaning, prophetic, fulfil etc of John 14:12, Mark 16:18, Acts 28:5 etc - The NT was originally written in Greek na, why doesn't anyone want to read on "Greek Aorist Tenses" to understand and know about the grammar and constructs in the Greek texts nuwell my foot's taken off the pedal, the boat's steady and no more rocking it |

Hagee Explains Blood Moons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYCsL-CaD2M Published on 11 Feb 2014 These days Israel is in the crosshairs like never before. Pastor John Hagee warns something big is about to happen involving the Jewish state - and the signs are in the sky. The Book of Genesis says God uses the sun, moon, and stars for signs and seasons. Examples can be found throughout the Bible. Think of how a star led the wise men to Jesus or how the sun stood still as Joshua led Israel to victory over its enemies. According to Pastor John Hagee, God is getting ready to speak this way once again. "There's a sense in the world that things are changing and God is trying to communicate with us in a supernatural way," Hagee told CBN News. "I believe that in these next two years, we're going to see something dramatic happen in the Middle East involving Israel that will change the course of history in the Middle East and impact the whole world," he predicted. Four Blood Moons In his latest book, Four Blood Moons: Something Is About to Change, Hagee lays out what he calls celestial signals. He describes how a series of blood moons in 2014 and 2015 will have great significance for Israel. Although single blood moons happen fairly regularly, four appearing so closely together is extremely rare. There have only been a series of blood moons a handful of times over the past 500 years. So what exactly is a blood moon and what is the biblical significance? "A blood moon is when the Earth comes between the sun and the moon," Hagee explained. "And the sun is shining through the atmosphere of the Earth and casts up on the moon a red shadow. And so the moon appears to be red." Such moons appear several times in scripture. In the book of Joel, God says there will be "wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire…the sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord." In Acts, the Apostle Peter repeats that verse from Joel. And the book of Revelation says that during the Great Tribulation, "the moon will become like blood." Blood moons are set to appear in April 2014, on Passover, and then again in October 2014 during the Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot. The timing is the same for 2015 -- a total of four blood moons, all appearing on Jewish feast days. "The sun and the moon and the Earth are controlled by God almighty," Hagee said. "He is the one that is getting them in a direct alignment on a certain day at a certain time -- but each time, it's a Passover or Sukkot. Historic Significance In the past, the rare appearance of four blood moons on these feast days has coincided with major events for Israel and the Jewish people. In 1492, Spain expelled the Jews. Columbus also discovered America, which became a safe haven for the Jewish people. "In each of these blood moons, you have something that begins in tragedy and ends in triumph," Hagee explained. For instance, in 1948, Israel was reborn as a nation. "After 2,000 years, God supernaturally brought them from 66 nations and a nation was born in a day," Hagee noted. "That again was a supernatural something that happened following the tragedy of the Holocaust." In 1967, Israel won the Six-Day War and recaptured Jerusalem. "For the first time in 2,000 years, Jerusalem and the State of Israel were together again," Hagee said. Nuclear Threat The blood moons of 2014 and 2015 are poised to appear as Iran works toward nuclear weapons and Israel's neighbors, Egypt and Syria, are in chaos. "The only reason that Iran will not acquire a nuclear bomb will be that Israel chooses a military solution to that crisis," Hagee told CBN News. "I believe that if that happens, it will start a series of events that will change the course of world history," he said. "If Israel does not, then it will still change the course of world history." Hagee has been warning of the Iranian nuclear threat through his work with Christians United for Israel, which he founded in 2006. It is now the largest pro-Israel organization in America, with some 1.3 million members. He holds nights to honor Israel across the country and at San Antonio's Cornerstone Church, where he serves as senior pastor. The first event, in 1981, drew bomb threats and vandalism from anti-Semites. Yet Hagee continues his mission. "If there was ever a time for the Christians of America to stiffen their spine and stand up and speak up, it's now," Hagee admonished. "To see evil and not call it evil is evil. Not to speak is to speak. We cannot be silent and receive God's approval at a time like this." He said it's still unclear what the coming blood moons will bring, but he is certain of one thing. "When all is said and done, the flag of Israel will be flying over the walls of the city of Jerusalem when Messiah comes, and it's going to be forever," he said. "And every nation that rises up in judgment against Israel God will punish and punish severely." #Mark Biltz #Hagee #Buzu, NL's TBJ equivalent #prophets of doom #the countdown begins |

Somebody's obviously tied themselves into knots, so let's save/spare the blushes and cut the mustard Jesus was not housed in an sinful flesh, just as Adam before the fall was not housed in a sinful flesh - Remember that Adam's flesh before he was tempted was not sinful flesh - Remember that Adam's flesh and world only got infected after he broke the law (i.e. the Do not eat law...) Sin did not come into the man's world via Eve but it came in through Adam Every human being born after Adam have the sinful nature passed down through him (i.e. Adam) so in effect every man/woman inherits the sinful nature from the father (i.e. not from the mother) Jesus didn't and couldn't have had a sinful flesh because He didn't have an earthly father to inherit (i.e. pass down) the sinful flesh from What Jesus had was a flesh, that had the outward appearance of sinful flesh and looked like the flesh of man's (i.e. it was not sinful flesh, as it was flesh, similar to Adam's flesh or state, before the fall) If Jesus had a sinful flesh, (i.e. if He was a lamb with blemish or spot) then, this defeats the redemption plan and makes the atonement purpose cost-defective If the second man is to correct errors in the first man, why then should the second man be made from the first man's corruption or template - The second Adam, to start off, just needed to have the likeness of the first Adam, for the "fix" to work (i.e. to successfully correct the issue) This bit here just takes the biscuit "or else God would have simply spoke him into being without having any earthly parents" - Yeah right, by pass the protocol a la Melchizedek style Anyway, no matter the "wuruwuru" to the answer, as far as Romans 8:3 is concerned, Jesus DID NOT have the EXACT SAME FLESH that sinners (e.g. Adam et al) had/have For God achieved what the law could not do because it was weakened through the flesh. BabaGnoni:The lab-grown pen.is: approaching a medical milestone After more than 20 years of research, a team of scientists are bioengineering pen.ises in the lab which may soon be transplanted safely on to patients. It is an extraordinary medical endeavour that has implications for a wide range of disorders Dara Mohammadi The Observer, Saturday 4 October 2014 19.00 BST Gathered around an enclosure at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in North Carolina in 2008, Anthony Atala and his colleagues watched anxiously to see if two rabbits would have sex. The suspense was short-lived: within a minute of being put together, the male mounted the female and successfully mated. While it’s not clear what the rabbits made of the moment, for Atala it was definitely special. It was proof that a concept he’d been working on since 1992 – that joysticks could be grown in a laboratory and transplanted to humans – was theoretically possible. The male rabbit was one of 12 for which he had bioengineered a penis; all tried to mate; in eight there was proof of ejaculation; four went on to produce offspring. The media’s coverage of Atala’s announcement a year later was understandably excited. Not just because of the novelty of a man growing joysticks in a laboratory, but because his work would fulfil a real need for men who have lost their penis through genital defects, traumatic injury, surgery for aggressive penile cancer, or even jilted lovers exacting revenge. At present, the only treatment option for these men is to have a penis constructed with skin and muscle from their thigh or forearm. Sexual function can be restored with a penile prosthetic placed inside. The prosthetics can be either malleable rods, with the penis left in a permanently semi-rigid state and thus difficult to conceal, or inflatable rods, which have a saline pump housed in the scrotum. Both technologies have been around since the 1970s. The aesthetics are crude and penetration is awkward. Another option is a penis transplant from another individual, but this carries a risk of immunological rejection. The chance of organ death can be lessened with anti-rejection drugs, but these drugs have serious side-effects. Transplants can also have a psychological impact, especially with an organ as intimate as the penis. In 2006, a Chinese man was the first to receive a donor penis; two weeks after the 15-hour operation, surgeons removed the transplanted organ on the request of both the patient and his partner. Atala hopes his technique will mitigate both immunological and psychological issues because his joysticks would be engineered using a patient’s own cells. “The phallus is actually much longer than you think,” he explains. “It goes all the way behind the pelvis, so no matter the extent of the damage, there is a high probability that there are salvageable cells.” Peruvian-born Atala, a urological surgeon and professor of regenerative medicine, heads a 300-strong team at the institute. He corrects himself constantly, always going back to edit his speech, adding words such as “high probability“ or “in all likelihood” to be sure his sentences are word-perfect. Soft-spoken and mild-mannered, Atala is a trailblazer in the field and you can’t help but think that his measured speech is an attempt to provide a sure path for others to follow. To some, engineering human organs sounds like science fiction, but for Atala it’s an absolute necessity. As we live longer (and thus our organs fail more) the shortage of organs for donation will only get worse. If he can work out how to generate the organs people need in a reliable and effective way, the technology can improve a lot of people’s lives. In 2006, Atala and his team announced the first successful bioengineered organ transplant, a bladder, which had been implanted into seven patients in 1999. Earlier this year he announced the successful follow-up of four women given bioengineered vaginas in 2005-2008. Despite these successes, he says, the penis is proving trickier. Organs increase in architectural complexity as they go from flat structures such as skin, cylindrical structures such as the vagina, to hollow non-tubular organs such as the bladder. As a solid organ, the penis tops this list in both density of cells and structural complexity. It consists of a spongy erectile tissue unique to it. During an erection, signals from the nerves trigger blood vessels to dilate, filling this spongy tissue with blood and causing the penis to lengthen and stiffen. “We were completely stuck,” says Atala of the first few years of research in the early 90s. “Even the idea of the field of regenerative medicine was brand new at the time. We had no idea how to make this structure, let alone make it so it would perform like the natural organ.” Then, in 1994, he figured he could take a helping hand from Mother Nature. Using a technique pioneered for biological skin dressings, he would take a donor penis and soak it in a mild detergent of enzymes for a couple of weeks to wash away the donor cells. “You’re left with a mostly collagen scaffold – a skeleton if you like, that looks and feels just like the organ,” explains James Yoo, one of Atala’s collaborators at the institute. “Think of it like a building. If you remove all the furniture and the people, you’re still left with the main structure of the building. Then you replace the tenants with new ones. That’s the whole idea. It’s just that the building is a penis and the tenants are cells.” The next step is to reseed the structure with the patient’s own cells taken in a biopsy from salvageable tissue and grown in culture. Smooth muscle cells, which relax during an erection to allow the vessels to dilate and the penis to fill with blood, are first, followed by endothelial cells which line the interior surface of blood and lymphatic vessels. When ready, the bioengineered penis is ready to be transplanted to the recipient. So why, six years on from successfully engineering a penis for rabbits, have they not yet done the same for humans? Atala explains that, as is often the case with these things, scaling up is proving difficult. “Even though we can make them in a very small mammal, we have to tweak the technology, the processes, the ratio of cells and so on, to get larger and larger structures. That’s pretty much what we’ve been doing since the rabbits.” They’ve made encouraging progress. Atala has engineered half a dozen human joysticks. Although they are not yet ready for transplanting, Atala’s team are assessing the structures for safety and effectiveness. One machine squashes, stretches and twists them to make sure they can stand up to the wear of everyday life; another pumps fluid into them to test erections. Sliced segments are tested at the genetic, cellular and physiological level. “It’s a rigorous testing schedule,” says Atala, wearily. “But we’re trying to get approval from the US Food and Drug Administration so we know everything is perfect before we move to a first in-man test.” Neither Atala nor Yoo will be pushed for a date for the first test in man, saying only that they’d expect it to occur within five years. “In the end we’re aiming for the entire size of the organ,” says Atala. “But in reality our first target is going to be partial replacement of the organ.” In the short term, this would include growing smaller lengths for partially damaged joysticks, but would also include replacing parts of the penis to help cure erectile dysfunction. Degradation of the spongy erectile tissue, says Tom Lue, a urological surgeon at the University of California, San Francisco, is the leading cause of impotence in old age. Disorders such as high blood pressure or diabetes can damage the delicate tissue – the resulting scar tissue is less elastic, meaning the tissue cannot completely fill with blood and the penis cannot become fully erect. “Show me a hundred 70-year-old men with erectile dysfunction,” says Lue, “and I’ll bet you 90% of them have scar material in their penis.” Traumatic injury or priapism, a condition that leaves men with an increasingly painful erection for hours or even days, can also damage the tissue and cause erectile dysfunction in younger men. “If you replace the damaged spongy tissue you can give these men a better erection.” Engineering the spongy tissue for replacement is one of Atala and Yoo’s interim goals. Lue is also hoping to restore erections, but for less severely damaged joysticks. For instance, some men become impotent after surgery for prostate or rectal cancer because the nerves that regulate erections, which run through the rectum and prostate into the centre of the penis, can get damaged. Likewise with traumatic injury, if the vessels are severed then the penis cannot fill with blood. Microsurgery to connect the vessels and nerves in the penis is possible but often ineffective. Lue is testing whether injecting stem cells into the base of the penis can encourage the nerves and cells to rejoin. His work might also help Atala and Yoo to stimulate nerve and vessel regrowth when the day comes for the first in-man trial of a bioengineered penis. Twenty-two years into his research to bioengineer a human penis, Atala is a man who is both excited and impatient for that day. And you’d suspect he’s not the only one. Bioengineered organs: The story so far… Bladder In 1999 the bladder became the first laboratory-grown organ to be given to a human. Atala and his colleagues took cells from a biopsy from seven patients with bladder disease. The cells were cultured and then seeded, layer by layer, on to a biodegradable, bladder-shaped collagen scaffold. After about eight weeks they were transplanted to patients, where the organs developed and integrated into the body. Vagina Another pilot study, this time in four women with a rare congenital abnormality that causes the vagina and uterus to be underdeveloped or absent. Using a similar technique to the one used to make bladders, in 2005 they implanted the first vagina. Up to eight years after transplant, all four organs have normal structure and function. This technique could be used to help women following injury or cancer. Pen.is and beyond In 2004, they implanted the first bioengineered urethra into five boys. This technology will help in their work towards reconstructing the penis. Atala and his colleagues are also working on 30 different organs and tissues including a kidney, which could be made using a 3D printer, and tissue for the liver, heart and lung. http://www.theguardian.com/education/2014/oct/04/penis-transplants-anthony-atala-interview http://www.theguardian.com/science/2014/oct/05/laboratory-joysticks-test-on-men |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdo67o3FdCo Heated argument between Deitrick Haddon & Clarence McClendon Preachers of LA In a heated scene on “Preachers of LA” with Gospel recording artist and former pastor Deitrick Haddon, McClendon and Haddon argued over preachers having entourages and honorariums. The debate got so tense that McClendon ultimately walked out of the house where they were all gathered. “When the situation got heated, I recognized that I was getting into what the Bible calls ‘an ignorant and foolish dispute.’ What I recognize now is that I was set up to be put in crossfire. I am not going to allow people to abuse that or malign that for the sake of television,” said McClendon. He went on to reference a Bible verse, 2 Timothy 2: 23. “It tells the man of God to avoid and ignorant and foolish disputes because they lead to strife,” McClendon explained. “I have spent 15, 16 years traveling the globe and I’ve cultivated a ministry of integrity around the world. I’m not going to allow people to abuse that for the sake of television.” Additionally, Decatur, Illinois-bred minister said he was “set up to be put in a crossfire” in the man cave scene because he “wasn’t supposed to be there.” McClendon detailed how he landed at the airport and producers asked could they send him a car to pick him up so that he could make the shoot. When he arrived at the residence, you see him with his son, his assistant who traveled with him and the driver that the producers sent. It gave the impression that McClendon only travels with a large entourage, which ultimately became part of the debate with Haddon. As it pertained to honorariums for preaching – Haddon’s point was that the Gospel should be delivered without cost – McClendon said he never charges a “set honorarium.” He explained that he gets upwards of 200 to 300 requests to preach a year, and his team makes an evaluation of each opportunity. “We’ve never denied anyone access to this ministry because they couldn’t afford my team,” he affirmed. Though on “Preachers of LA” first episode Haddon was adamant that no place in the Bible does it say ministers of the Gospel should charge, AlwaysAList.com placed a call to his longtime booking agent Faith Management to inquire about his current rate. We were told that depending on the specifics of the request, Haddon’s booking fee ranges from $15,000 to $25,000. That’s a long way from free! Regardless, McClendon requests viewers watch “Preachers of LA” and “make up your own mind.” He closed: “Pray for me and pray for all of us involved that God would be glorified.” http://alwaysalist.com/tv/clarencemcclendon-pola/ |

'My whole world started turning upside down and the next morning he just went,' she said. 'It started to be extremely traumatic for me because suddenly my husband just started to change in a pattern and a way I had never seen him act before.' Mrs Alec said she and the board of GOD TV asked Rory to go for counselling and claimed she discovered he had been having an affair in August. 'The devil got in very, very easily,' she said. She added that the woman Mr Alec was having an affair with heard a voice from God telling her that he was her Mr Right and her husband. Mrs Alec said: 'Rory is on this lady's father's farm in South Africa. 'He wants a new life. 'It is traumatic because it's like your life is over, all our memories.' Last week Rory Alec said he was handing over the running of GOD TV to his wife. He said in a statement: 'After 20 years of service, I have had a moral failure this year. 'For this reason, I am stepping down. Please forgive me for the disappointment I've caused, but I know your eyes are on Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith and not on me, an imperfect man. 'It is with a heavy heart that I confirm my season with GOD TV is over for now.' God TV can be seen in more than 60 countries and is popular in the US, where it competes with other religious broadcasters. It claims to reach more than 900 million people with its mixture of sermons and uplifting stories of people saved by faith. The Alecs feature regularly along with US-based evangelists. Last year, they appeared in a show that attempted to exorcise ‘demons’ from President Obama to free him from ‘Jezebel’s clutches’. The couple, who are in their 40s, met as singers on the cabaret circuit in South Africa. Mrs Alec was born in London but grew up in Durban, South Africa, and became a devout Christian after seeing the face of Jesus in a mirror in the lavatory of a nightclub where she was singing. The pair decided to set up a Christian TV channel in Europe after hearing a prophecy that they would do so. They launched God TV with £140,000 in savings and it quickly became popular with US evangelists who paid to appear and gain access to European audiences. One of the first Christian broadcasters in Britain, God TV can be viewed online and on its Sky television channel Rory Alec has not responded to the claims. SisterMe:No offense but there is no basis for your point First, pastor is not an appointment. "office of a pastor" is a man made invention, Pastor is not about an office one assumes but rather it is one of the gifts or among the gifts Christ gave to the church Though one gift is not superior or better than the other, the pastors actually came last in the mentioning of the gifts in Ephesians 4:11 As a matter of fact, "pastors" is in the same league as "teachers" - this is noted when "Pastors" was couple-banded with "Teachers" in Ephesians 4:11 Now reverting to your earlier flawed point, the church has only one Pastor (i.e. Christ) however Christ gave gifts of which pastors/teachers are among the gifts, to feed his sheep with knowledge and understanding Note the promise made earlier in Jeremiah 3:15 and the fulfilment of it in Ephesians 4:11 And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding. - Jeremiah 3:15 NLT and He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as proclaimers of good news, and some as shepherds and teachers, - Ephesians 4:11 Young's Literal Translation If Rachel can be a shepherdess (i.e. Genesis 29:9) if Moses' father-in-law's seven daughters draw water to fill the troughs to water their father’s flock (i.e. Exodus 2:16) then it shouldn't be odd, women receiving and using the shepherd gift given out by Christ - "water" by the way, is symbolic for the Word of God In Bible times, women as well as men were shepherds (i.e. pastors), they filled brough with water, they feed, (e.g. Song of Solomon 1:8 ) and shepherds then were not lording people or acting in a superior and domineering manner towards fellow others It is worth noticing that, apart from Shepherd (i.e. Jesus), there isn't a pastor mention in the New Testament, there is one occurrence as pastors (i.e. in small "p" and plural in Ephesians 4:11) but no mention of pastor, to lead or give it an undue ranking, eminence, prominence or superiority status. Ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound, be loosed from this bond and be set free? Shouldn't we be encouraging and promoting gifted women, as done with men? The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. |
