MY SUBMISSION ON F12: Fake healing schools Some of the things typical and bearing hallmarks of a WoF influenced set up are, build universities, solicit seed money, putting on white suits like a form of uniform, setting up fake healing schools etc Now it is worth noting that the biggest deceptions in the past two-three centuries is fake healing It is the absurd pretense orchestrated to create the impression of healing or atmosphere of miracles which is classed as fake in so called healing schools. As it currently stands, fake healing definitely, far far outnumbers genuine healing, and this is because most of the supposedly healing are unverifiable. Any claim that people need healing schools to express faith in God's ability to heal is hogwash. It is as if, divine healing and/or miracles are bound by geography or that location (i.e. need to be at healing schools) is a prerequisite before healing/miracles can be released or received. - the earth is the Lord's and its fullness thereof Most of the heavy weight WoF preachers don't practice what they preach, as they end up in hospitals, where they die of ailments, diseases etc (i.e. resorting to hospitals after not receiving healing from the schools they've set up) Healing schools (i.e. School of Miracles or Revival School Of Ministry) are cash cows, just another revenue stream for the organisers to tap into. Healing schools happens to be glorified pyramid schemes or high-yield investment programs (i.e. HYIP) which claim to offer healing in exchange for time, money etc spent with at the schools. This is an elaborate and sophisticated con scheme, exploiting the vulnerable and exclusively profiting those behind the whole healing school set-up. Taking advantage of people by pretending to be engaged in healing whereas the greater focus actually is on money they'll gain rather than on healing. Anyone that believes that, healing is the core reason behind setting up these charades called healing schools has another thing coming. Healing is a smokescreen, the whole healing school set up is designed to disguise the organiser's real intentions and aims. The attraction and promise of healing is the bait, the hyped-up healing schools use to lure the unsuspecting, the vulnerable, the despairing, the hopeful etc The truth about what really goes on and down in these healing school are: covetousness, deception, greed, boldfaced lies and over-bloated egos. The irony is that, most of the healing schools, behind the scenes and/or off-camera, actually do schooling. Schooling, as in, do give coaching instructions and suggestive activities, before cherry-picking the prime of the attendees, for fake healing and effectively lie about the healing that allegedly took place The following is a snippet and transcript of a well known WoF big shot preacher on ABC Nightline responding to accusations concerning lavish lifestyle and controversial claims of faith healings INTERVIEWER - are you taking advantage of people who are profoundly religious and also vulnerable because they're in physical pain for your own personal enrichment. WoF BIG SHOT - I'm glad you're asking, let me tell you something. I would not do this for money. If people think I'll do this for money, after all the misery, I've had to go through INTERVIEWER - (Interrupts) What misery WoF BIG SHOT - Oh my God, you're like a human being like me. I wouldn't like to be called all those names. Who wants that? What you're asking is. Am I using the so called lie, that healing really happens so I can make money? INTERVIEWER - (Responds) Correct WoF BIG SHOT - OK. Of course not. You can not fool all the people, all the time. Right? INTERVIEWER - (Interjects WoF BIG SHOT) You don't need to fool all the people all the time. You just need to fool some people, sometimes WoF BIG SHOT - (Laughs uneasily) Okay, that's that's OK. I mean I understand that but I will tell you this. I think if I was fooling the people over 35 years of it now I would have been caught already fooling them [PROGRAMME VOICE NARRATION: WoF BIG SHOT admits he doesn't have any medical verification of any of the healings and in fact some of the supposedly healings have turned out not to be real at all VOICE NARRATION NOW SHOWING A CLIP OF HEALING CLAIMED TO HAVE HAPPENED AT ONE OF WoF BIG SHOT'S EVENT: Nine-year-old William Vandenkolk claimed his failing eyesight had improved at this crusade in 2001 William is now 17 and still legally blind William: I'd say I was caught up in the moment being as young as I was, thinking I can actually bring my vision back...] WoF BIG SHOT - (Nodding head whilst watching clip) Yep INTERVIEWER - (Interjects) His name is William... WoF BIG SHOT - I know... INTERVIEWER - ...and he still can't see. WoF BIG SHOT - These are things, I cannot explain because I'm not the healer I'm human like you, I make mistakes like anybody else. PROGRAMME VOICE NARRATION: WoF BIG SHOT says God does the healing, not him and that he is therefore not responsible for what people claim on stage] "I am not responsible for what people claim on stage" is the line most WoF healing preachers toes when confronted with healing that turned out not to be true PROGRAMME VOICE NARRATION CUT-OFF:] This is the story of the WoF BIG SHOT and William Vandenkolk mentioned above as related in the Los Angeles Times: Sitting cross-legged in front of a big-screen TV, the 11-year-old squints through Coke-bottle glasses at a Miracle Crusade video made more than two years ago in which he starred as a boy who miraculously recovered from blindness. "I liked it at first because I thought I was being healed," says Williams in the living room of his aunt and uncle’s home. On the screen, WoF BIG SHOT bends down to William, his hands on the child’s face. "Look at these tears," says WoF BIG SHOT, peering into the child’s eyes. "William, baby, can you see me?" Before more than 15,000 people in a Las Vegas arena, William nods. In a small voice, the boy says, "As soon as God healed me, I could see better." WoF BIG SHOT, an arm wrapped around William, tells the audience that God has told him to pay the child’s medical expenses and education. People weep. Today William is still legally blind and says his sight never improved, and that his on-stage comments were wishful thinking. Incidentally, the family has yet to receive any of the promised money for medical or educational expenses. 21You may be wondering, "How can we recognize that the LORD didn't speak this message?" 22If a prophet speaks in the LORD's name and what he says doesn't happen or come true, then it didn't come from the LORD. That prophet has spoken on his own authority. Never be afraid of him - Deuteronomy 18:21-22 GOD'S WORD® Translation "Remote control" is a technique to watch out for during some fake healing sessions. This is when the "healer" stands ten feet or so away from unsuspecting "healees" and then manipulates the "healee's" movements with hand motions (e.g. by scooting hand to the left or right, the "healee" irresistibly seems drawn to the left, or to the right) Also with the circling movement of the "healer's" hands, the "healee" is manipulated into a circle, and eventually ends up falling down into a dazed heap after a moment of spiralling out of control "Point of contact" is another technique to watch out for. It like the "remote control" are occult healing practices and they both, are techniques adopted which are closely related to a control technique termed "mesmerism" "Mesmerism" is named after Franz Anton Mesmer (i.e. 1734-1815) an Austrian physician, who believed the human nervous system to be magnetized and so would wave his hands in front of his patients, believing that a magnetic force emanated from his hands. The above mentioned techniques among others, are easily spotted used on local and international recorded satellite healing TV or YouTube broadcasts There are several distinctness in the way Jesus healed that are not characteristic of healing schools. First, Jesus healed instantly, second, Jesus had no healing schools, third, Jesus certainly did no coaching or unverifiable healing, fourth, Jesus had no returns nor accusations of fake healing levied against him, fifth, Jesus didn't describe or draw attention to the healing, nor use billboards, adverts etc in order to encourage attendance or promote "sales" sixth, Jesus never healed the same way twice (i.e. He healed spontaneously. He didn't have a modus operandi and never followed healing set techniques) We know of prophets school or school of prophets in the bible founded by Samuel (i.e. 2 Kings 2:3 & 5, 1 Kings 18:13 etc), its intent and purpose but as for these fake healing schools, the bottom line is, the primary purpose of setting them up is to get money. They are money-spinners, which bring in revenues from the sale of healing paraphernalia, books, DVDs/CDs/Videos/tapes and love gifts. Names of attendees are harvested and added to email databases and/or addresses mailing list for regular future contacting and ask for financial donations etc. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. - Luke 10:3 NIV "I am sending you out like sheep surrounded by wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. - Matthew 10:16 NET Bible Quite right, among wolves indeed. Most healing schools are sharks, predatory, wrongly using the unsuspecting for material gains and/or personal profit. The genuine ones are few and far in between. Genuine ones don't advertise. Genuine ones do not seek or sought vainglory. Apart from been a victim of the aoristic trap, Luke 10:19 or Mark 16:17-18 is religionised and become a travesty, which fake healing school practitioners have capitalised on and taken advantage of it. The New Testament was originally written in Greek, so when reading Luke 10:19 or Mark 16:17-18 and juxtaposing it with Acts 28:3-9, they all come together and make sense, but it only does after realising that there were Greek aorist tenses used in the original text and these in the original text, at times, do not properly convey their import, talkless expecting it doing so after translation to English (e.g. the prophetic aorist tense used in Mark 16:17-18 which later happened in Acts 28:3-9) Tense, tempus in Latin, means time. Unlike English grammar tense (e.g. present, past and future) which is a category that locates an event or situation in time, to indicate when the situation takes place, Greek aorist tense, is a class of verb forms that indicate past action without reference to whether the action involved was momentary, complete or continuous (i.e. doesn't specify a point in time, duration, or repetition) and so uses other methods when talking about time - For some information on Greek aorist tense and explanation on a few Greek aorist tenses, visit http://ezraproject.com/id34.html http://www.biblicalstudies.org.uk/pdf/jbl/1972_stagg.pdf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aorist_%28Ancient_Greek%29#Syntax http://www.etsjets.org/files/JETS-PDFs/48/48-3/JETS_48-3_533-555.pdf Closing, healing and miracles have remits and protocols to adhere to, some will wrought in healing schools, wrought with faith at homes, wrought with elders laying hands etc some will not wrought at all, and so expected to be wrought elsewhere according to God's sovereign... Not all healing and/or miracles will be received at healing schools. This is evident and more the reason why fake healing is resorted to, in healing schools to validate WoF influenced "healing" schools or ministries God endorsing healing, this is not questionable, after all He is JEHOVAH RAHPA He said, "If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you." - Exodus 15:26 NIV There are some healing and miracles God will personally perform or answer to cure via use prayer of faith alone as in healing stuff we can't see and that's without medical assistance etc (e.g. curing diseases like cancer etc, repairing internal organs like liver etc) also, there are others He has left to man to wrought out, healing, relief, or cure by himself, without Him, God directly intervening but by man exercising the prayer(s) of faith and benefiting from the God deposited wisdom and gifts of healing (e.g. Exodus 28:3, 1 Corinthians 12:9 etc) manifesting in the medicals and the likes. (e.g. pain relief due to toothache, reattaching severed limbs, correcting spina bifida, reconstructing disfigured faces etc) God sticks to such protocol, established rules, because He is respecting and keeping to His word concerning man in Genesis 1:26 & 28 The signs and wonders (Acts 4:31, Acts 14:3 etc) performed by the Paul and Barnabas, Peter etc were necessary signposting circumventing the rules etc in order to establish ekklesia in the early days on good and strong footing. The moment that was done healing, miracles, cures and wonders issues became a stickler to rules and where applicable conforming to them MY SUBMISSION ON F12: Fake healing schools I REST MY CASE ON F12, FOR NOW. |
The Tithe War (Irish: Cogadh na nDeachúna) was a campaign of nonviolent civil disobedience, punctuated by sporadic violent episodes, in Ireland between 1830 and 1836 in reaction to the enforcement of tithes on subsistence farmers and others for the upkeep of the established state church – the Church of Ireland. Tithes were payable in cash or kind and payment was compulsory, irrespective of an individual's religious adherence. Background Tithe payment was an obligation on those working the land to pay ten per cent of the value of certain types of agricultural produce for the upkeep of the clergy and maintenance of the assets of the church. After the Reformation in Ireland of the 16th century, the assets of the church were allocated by King Henry VIII to the new established church. The majority in Ireland who remained loyal to the old religion were then obliged to make tithe payments which were directed away from their own church to the reformed one. This increased the financial burden on subsistence farmers, many of whom were at the same time making voluntary contributions to the construction or purchase of new premises to provide Roman Catholic places of worship. The new established church was supported by only a minority of the population, seventy-five percent of whom continued to adhere to Roman Catholicism. Emancipation for Roman Catholics was promised by Pitt during the campaign in favour of the Act of Union of 1801 which was approved by the Irish Parliament, thus abolishing itself and creating the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The king, however, refused to keep Pitt's promises, and it was not until 1829 that the Duke of Wellington's government finally conceded to the Roman Catholic Emancipation Act, in the teeth of defiant royal opposition. However, the obligation to pay tithes to the Church of Ireland remained, causing much resentment. Roman Catholic clerical establishments in Ireland had refused government offers of tithe-sharing with the established church, fearing that British government regulation and control would come with acceptance of such money. The tithe burden lay directly on the shoulders of farmers, whether tenants or owner-occupiers. More often than not, tithes were paid in kind, in the form of produce or livestock. In 1830, given the system of benefices in the Anglican system, almost half of the clergy were not resident in the parishes from which they drew their incomes. These issues, more often than not, were inflamed by the senior Irish Roman Catholic clergy, who were now dependent on voluntary contributions due to the discontinuation of the Maynooth grant. Incensed farmers vehemently resisted paying for the support of two clerical establishments. Aided and abetted by many of the Roman Catholic bishops and clergy, they began a campaign of non-payment. After Emancipation in 1829, an organized campaign of resistance to collection began. It was sufficiently successful to have a serious financial effect on the welfare of established church clergy. In 1831, the government compiled lists of defaulters and issued collection orders for the seizure of goods and chattels (mostly stock). Spasmodic violence broke out in various parts of Ireland, particularly in counties Kilkenny, Tipperary and Wexford. The Irish Constabulary, which had been established in 1822, attempted to enforce the orders of seizures. At markets and fairs, the constabulary often seized stock and produce, which often resulted in violent resistance. A campaign of passive resistance was proposed by Patrick "Patt" Lalor (1781–1856), a farmer of Tenakill, Queen's County, who later served as a repeal MP (1832–35). He declared at a public meeting in February 1831 in Maryborough that "...he would never again pay tithes; that he would violate no law; that the tithe men might take his property, and offer it for sale; but his countrymen, he was proud to say, respected him, and he thought that none of them would buy or bid for it if exposed for sale. The declaration was received by the meeting in various ways: by many with surprise and astonishment; by others with consternation and dismay, but by a vast majority with tremendous cheering." Lalor held true to his word and did not resist the confiscation of 20 sheep from his farm, but was able to ensure no buyers appeared at subsequent auctions. The "war" 1831–36 The first clash of the Tithe War took place on 3 March 1831 in Graiguenamanagh, County Kilkenny, when a force of 120 yeomanry tried to enforce seizure orders on cattle belonging to a Roman Catholic priest. Encouraged by his bishop, he had organised people to resist tithe collection by placing their stock under his ownership prior to sale. The revolt soon spread. On 18 June 1831, in Bunclody (Newtownbarry), County Wexford, people resisting the seizure of cattle were fired upon by the Irish Constabulary, who killed twelve and wounded twenty; one yeoman was shot dead in retaliation. This massacre caused objectors to organise and use warnings such as church bells to signal the community to round up the cattle and stock. On 14 December 1831, resisters used such warnings to ambush a detachment of 40 Constabulary at Carrickshock (County Kilkenny). Twelve constables, including the Chief Constable, were killed and more wounded. (Other sources put the number of dead at eighteen.) Regular clashes causing fatalities continued over the next two years, causing the authorities to reinforce selected army barracks fearing an escalation. Taking stock of the continuing resistance, in 1831 the authorities recorded 242 homicides, 1,179 robberies, 401 burglaries, 568 burnings, 280 cases of cattle-maiming, 161 assaults, 203 riots and 723 attacks on property directly attributed to seizure order enforcement. In 1832, the president of Carlow College was imprisoned for not paying tithes. On 18 December 1834, the conflict came to a head at Rathcormac, County Cork, when armed Constabulary reinforced by the regular British Army killed twelve and wounded forty-two during several hours of fighting when trying to enforce a tithe order reputedly to the value of 40 shillings.. The conflict had the support of the Roman Catholic clergy and the following quotation, from a letter written by the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, Dr. James Doyle to Thomas Spring Rice became the rallying cry for the movement: "There are many noble traits in the Irish character, mixed with failings which have always raised obstacles to their own well-being; but an innate love of justice, and an indomitable hatred of oppression, is like a gem upon the front of our nation which no darkness can obscure. To this fine quality I trace their hatred of tithes; may it be as lasting as their love of justice!" Outcome Finding and collecting livestock chattels and the associated mayhem created public outrage and proved an increasing strain on police relations. The government suspended collections. One official lamented that “it cost a shilling to collect tuppence”. In 1838, parliament introduced a Tithe Commutation Act for Ireland. This reduced the amount payable directly by about a quarter and made the remainder payable in rent to landlords. They in turn were to pass payment to the authorities. Tithes were thus effectively added to a tenant's rent payment. This partial relief and elimination of the confrontational collections ended the violent aspect of the Tithe War. Full relief from the tax was not achieved until the Irish Church Act 1869, which disestablished the Church of Ireland, by the Gladstone government. |
https://s29.postimg.org/4ezs7i8qf/God_Guessers_c.jpg, God is denomination agnostic, furthermore that Ignatius' "ekklesia katholicos" phrase was hijacked for political and personal gains to mean something else. - note even Ignatius didn't use "church" but rather assembly to imply a universal vertical relationship/fellowship with God - the "ekklesia katholicos" phrase was first used and found in Chapter 8 of Ignatius' Epistle to the Smyrnaeans The "ancestry and lineage of the modern day Christian" as we presently know it, is public knowledge 1) Jesus never founded a church. What is 100% certain, is, He said He will build "ekklesia" (i.e. Matthew 16:18) and not "church" "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, a small rock and upon the large rock I will build my congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against her." - Matthew 16:18 Jubilee Bible 2000 2) The word "Church", in letter and/or substance, clearly metamorphosed from "ekklesia" - Someone assisted and aided RCC get the prominence status it claims - Another someone had strong vested interest and a lot to gain in changing the meaning of "ekklesia" from congregation to "church" - Someone with accomplice(s) made the transition(s) from "ekklesia" (i.e. called out to assemble) to "church" |

Every denomination including those claiming they've never said anything bad about RCC have horrible skeletons in their closets. Who best to send, if not Elijah, as apart from being a MOG, Elijah can relate with the woman, can relate with her situation and circumstances Elijah, like the woman, had gone through famine and hunger but he was fed by God Elijah, like the woman, was prepared and ready to die if not for God's mercy which spared him from death This woman must have earlier sought God's face and this is why God stepped in for the rescue Now, God, here, is about to do the miraculous in the woman's life, The bible in verse 9 records God saying He had instructed the woman to supply Elijah with food and commanding Elijah to set off to Zarephath. “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” - 1 Kings 17:9 Elijah did not head to Zarephath out of whim, he had no wicked or evil intention. He did not go over there on his own accord, he had no ulterior motive He was commanded by God, to go there, and this was for God to wrought out two miracles in the woman's life. It must be noted that, Elijah did not ask the woman for something God did not earlier direct the woman to hand over God directed the woman to supply Elijah with food, and so that was what Elijah asked for when he arrived and met with the woman. - He asked according to the directive (i.e. he wasn't playing mind games nor psychology with the woman) - Elijah must have watched the woman or studied her because at some stage, he reassured her, by telling the woman not to be afraid, this expressed empathy from Elijah, surely put the woman at peace and ease. - Another thing to note is that the woman had doubted Elijah from the moment she set eyes on him, "I don’t have any bread" when Elijah asked her for "a piece of bread." (i.e. 1 Kings 17:11-12) - Elijah did not hold it against her though - Elijah knew he can deliver unlike the present with their white suits and form of godliness but lacking the power thereof - All through out; before, during and after the miracles, the woman still wasn't convinced about Elijah's authenticity (i.e. it is interesting to know that performing miracles, doesn't guarantee people truly believing one is a MOG) - It wasn't until after receiving the second miracle, did she open up and confessed her all along doubts about Elijah (i.e. 1 Kings 17:24) Anyway notice after miracle #1, there was food EVERY DAY, not just for the woman but for her, her family and for Elijah, EVERYDAY. - Elijah's upgraded from eating bit and bobs handed over by ravens to having home cooked meals and a warm bed not a damp and cold cave (i.e. perfect isn't it, it can't get any better than that) - Here, God gives a solution; kills two birds with one stone, sorts out the woman's and Elijah's feeding problem - It was a win-win solution and they all lived happily ever after - It was not one-sided at all, as usually is the case with many of today's we-know-whos |
Ymodulus: ok. i had to fire up my server, text editor and browser and i had to test the code this time. seehttps://s28.postimg.org/93nl1r6a5/yphp3.jpg Sweet success! Yep it is now. Ran it myself and as seen above, it worked like a charm (i.e. the $ymodulus handle on line 30 did it) Thanks Ymodulus. You the man! Cheers https://s28.postimg.org/ahu3rbj09/thumbsup_Wink.gif |

Yep, I did notice the short form if/else conditional statement however as seen from the above screenshot capture, whether it's PHP 5.4 or 5.5, it is still failing with the above error message - when 5.4 is used, a different error message to when 5.5 is displayed |
OLAADEGBU: What is a synagogue? OLAADEGBU: Why are synagogues important for Christians if they are important at all?In the New Testament, we are used to knowing synagogue also to be an equivalent name of the building used for assembling in or congregating in, but the Greek word "sunagogé" means "coming together" and could imply a meeting (i.e. gathering together) rather than a building (i.e. Acts 13:43, James 2:2); so synagogues were simply gatherings that took place outdoors or in people’s houses or courtyards (i.e. refer to 2 Thessalonians 2:1 or Hebrews 10:25 Greek Text Analysis for more details) - TB Joshua’s set-up, calls itself synagogue, but then for good measure, appends the word "church", making it: The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (i.e. SCOAN) And *I* also, I say unto thee that *thou* art Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and hades' gates shall not prevail against it. - Matthew 16:18 Darby Bible Translation “Also I say to you, that you are Kaypha, and upon this stone I shall build my church, and the gates of Sheol will not withstand it.” - Matthew 16:18 Aramaic Bible in Plain English And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it. - Matthew 16:18 Holman Christian Standard Bible And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, a small rock and upon the large rock I will build my congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against her. - Matthew 16:18 Jubilee Bible 2000 In the beginning, God set out an outpost of His Kingdom in Eden. He then created man and gave man power and control of the earth and all its inhabitants. He also gave man the right to make decisions from the outpost, then God brought Eve, for many reasons, but fundamentally for the institution of marriage, out from Adam. Why, what for, where to from then on? What was God's original pet idea for the first family and their offspring? Dominion - sovereignty and/or governance of territory Has this changed? Has God changed? Has this changed, with God, in Christ? No, and it's because of Luke 9:35 or Mark 9:7 and John 12:44 that one says no. 3 Blessed is he that reads and those that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein, for the time is at hand. 4 John, to the seven congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} which are in Asia: Grace be unto you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne 5 and from Jesus, the Christ, who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins with his own blood 6 and has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. - Revelation 1:3-4 Jubilee Bible 2000 and that the kingdom and the dominion, and the majesty of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, be given to the holy people of the most High, His kingdom shall be an eternal kingdom, and all the dominions shall serve him and hear him - Daniel 7:27 Jubilee Bible 2000 "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;" - 1 Peter 2:9 and I assign to you, as my Father assigned to me, a kingdom, - Luke 22:29 ESV The first time ekklesia was ever mentioned in the NT was in Matthew 16:19 and uttered by Jesus. It was the first time out of the three times Jesus used the word (i.e. once in Matthew 16:19 and twice in Matthew 18:17) No other place did Jesus use the word and no one else, except for Matthew recorded Jesus, using it the word. Jesus could have easily used any other word for a gathering or assembly of called out people mentioned in Matthew 16:19 He could easily have used the above earlier discussed familiar word synagogue (i.e. as synagogue too means "coming together'' or "gathering together'') Why didn't He? Maybe because synagogue didn't convey/carry the complete import or essence of His plan, vision or intention for believers as much/well as “ekklesia” does We need to be accustomed with ekklesia in order to understand why Jesus chose and used the word So what again is ekklesia?. What is special about ekklesia? The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Ekklesia unlike synagogue, has a potent, deep, relevant, purposeful and meaningfulness about it It encapsulates and expresses the framework of what the "calling out" is about 35The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? 36What did he mean when he said, ‘You will look for me, but you will not find me,’ and ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?” - John 7:35-36 NIV 20Some Greeks who had come to Jerusalem for the Passover celebration 21paid a visit to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee. They said, “Sir, we want to meet Jesus.” 22Philip told Andrew about it, and they went together to ask Jesus. - John 12:20-22 NLT Remember the Jews in John 7:35-36 and events in John 12:20-22 when the Greeks came to visit Jesus. Well Israel was under Roman Rule, and Greek was in vogue then, hence the inevitable exposure to Greek language, culture, civilisation and governance style. The Romans adopted the word ekklesia from the Greeks, and used ekklesia to refer to the summoning of people out to hear the messenger from Rome who had just blown his trumpet and "called people out" to hear the latest edicts from the emperor. In classical Greek however, ekklesia originally means a political assembly in the ancient Greek states, at which all free citizens are summoned/invited to the town council - summoned like called to serve in a jury service. The gathered citizens listen to, discuss, and vote on decrees that affected every aspect of their community whether public or private (e.g. from finance - religious ones - public festivals - war - treaties with foreign powers - regulations governing ferry boats) take part in the election of archons (chief magistrates) and confer special privileges on individuals. "Ekklesia" is a lawful assembly of people in a free Greek city summoned for the transaction of civil matters/affairs - summoned, like when called, to serve in a jury service. Most bible translations have deliberately misinterpreted the Greek word ekklesia as “church”, when in actual fact; ekklesia has nothing to do with the word “church”! Remember Acts 19:32, 39 and 41 above, where "ekklesia" is a town council: it was a civil body in Ephesus, and correctly translated so. There translators were forced to abandon their fakery "church" is "ekklesia" translation in those three verse and reluctantly settled for assembly. Nonetheless, they kept up the pretence, 112 other times, where "ekklesia" was changed to "church" instead of assembly. - It's similar to today's pretense where agricultural tithe is "money" Anyway, it's important to recognise that Jesus didn't die to create "church", denominations (i.e. 1 Corinthians 1:12, 31 and 1 Corinthians 3:21), "pastor" - pastor doesn’t occur at all in the NT (i.e. 1 Corinthians 12:28) but He died to build a body of believers, called out of the world system (e.g. Sanhedrin Council et al etc) to come together into a separate civil & community council. When Jesus used this politically loaded word (i.e. ekklésia), was He giving descriptional hints about His people and their meetings? Yes! Jesus was; He is indicating that His ekklesia is PATTERNED AFTER and intended to FOLLOW/FUNCTION same manner the BORROWED Greek ekklesia did. Ekklesia has more importance than synagogue |
therealMcCain: My question is:https://s21.postimg.org/3zpucrjtz/prosperty_gospel.jpg There is more than meet the eyes, as scriptures are not that easy, as we think, given to manipulation, so that Christians or whoever, can get the promises/blessings attached to them. Scriptures essentially, are objects which operate in either public, protected or private capacities. The efficacy of scripture and the actualisation of a verbalism of it depends on: - the state of mind (e.g. done not because of Gods love etc) and position - how/where in particular such scripture is accessed (e.g. is it public, protected or private, and where in relation to it, is the Christian calling it) - depends on what is written to happen in the called scripture's function (i.e. do this, if a certain condition is met, else, do here, if condition isn't met) So simply replied, might get some promises/blessings, might not get some promises/blessings and might not get any at all. It should be based on the former (i.e. ought to be out of love) and with duty, added by me The love you referred to, actually is not any of the other love we're accustomed to or familiar with (e.g. not eros - physical/emotional/romance/sexual love, not phileo - friendship love and not storge - family/brotherly love) but it is the AGAPE love, which is an unconditional love with a "spiritual" connotation attached (i.e. meaning without any of the "do this, if a certain condition is met, else, do here, if condition isn't met" attached to it) The love chapter (i.e. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13) has detailed information on Agape love Three things will last forever, namely faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love (i.e. Agape love) |
