BabaOnileK:
Those who miss the Pacesetters series can probably visit the Ilupeju office at Industrial Avenue (opposite Zenith Bank). I was there yesterday (27th October 2010) and got like 14 titles at a low price of NGN280 each. I had previously bought three titles at NGN350 each at a book fair.

You may not get all the great titles but you would have a good selection.
I hope this place is still open. On my next trip to Lagos I'm going to check out that office, I want a collection of as many titles as I can find. Oh the memories!!

I loved reading Mark of the Cobra. It was an original Nigerian espionage story and I used to get goose bumps when my neighborhood back then in Port Harcourt was mentioned in the book.

EAC BLAZE:
@THEBLESSED Paying of dowry cant stop because the bible recommended it, Though most hungry families were abusing it by hiking the bride price

In order to make profit,In igboland people termed it to be expensive but it still depends on the family you are goin

Am forseeing in the nearest future, People's culture will fade out,

The reason why there's increase in divorce and other useless activities in the soceity today is because we re emulating other countries way of life
So people should go along with a practice just because the Bible says so? Recall that the Bible also says you should kill unbelievers (Deut 17:12)

I think Theblessed has some serious points. What is the underlying principle for dowries and how can that be reconciled with the fact that we are to treat women with dignity.

grin For an igbo girl you have to pay 60 k(sixty thousand naira),20 crates of soft drinks, five herds of cattle,10 kegs of palmwine,10 cartons of beer,a loapard skin,4 boxes of snuff, and an expensive lace for her mom.
For a yoruba girl it has to be 20k(twenty thousand naira) and you have to have at least a PH.d.
For a hausa or fulani girl you have to be a muslim and a jihadist before her parents consider you for marriage and no dowry is required
For an edo girl the dowry is not expensive
For a white girl its dowry free
And for an indian girl it would be her parents paying you the dowry
Hope i have cleared up the issue wink
What in the world would they want to use that for. cheesy

Ahh. I seem to have ticked off a raw nerve there with my assumptive statement. I apologize.

Nevertheless it is widely believed that Alaigbo has one of the highest dowries and bride prices in this country. Where did this belief (whether correct or not) come from?

MW3 should pick up where MW2 left off so don't expect anything new. Makarov must die! grin
Till you mentioned it I just realized that Makarov slipped out of focus at the end of MW2 and General Shepard took his place. I guess the developers were saving him for MW3. I think it will be the remaining members of Task Force 141 that will take him out.

That story line might be interesting to only gamers who have played MW and MW2 but I wonder how first timers might take to it in MW3, its becoming too steeped. Anyhow it will be a ton of fun to play. I hope the BF3 story will be a completely new one such that people like me who haven't played any BF games will not feel left out. Lets see.

Hahaha, some people are actually waiting for the president's reaction? are you guys naive or something?  Okay, just in case you are being naive, i'd tell you what the reaction will be:

We'd get a a long boring speech of how "some bad elements" who "being controlled by demon" will stop at nothing to see Nigeria break apart.  And how me,, Goodluck Enebele Azikwe Babangida junior, have directed the National Security adviser to set up a joint task force consisting of men of the Nigerian navy, aifroce and Army, to fish out these "bad elements" and make them face justice.

"You can be rest assured that i feel every pain you are going through . . .when i was in school, i carried my books on my head and I trekked everyday barefooted from home to school.
You forgot to add that he didn't wear underwear when he went to school.

I think the correct way to say this is 'Why Gamers in Nigeria Don't Play Online Games'. See what I did there?  smiley
There are Nigerians in other countries that play online games alot. It is just in Nigeria where this peculiar trend is observed and lies mostly with the second point Dolemite listed; internet speed issues. Our so called broadband isn't broad enough to support online gaming. I tried to hook my PS3 up with PSN and was frustrated out because of lag problems.

I haven't really played any BF games so I don't know how its story goes but the COD story line has become something of a cliche if you ask me. I mean, it's about the Russians taking on the USA and her allies, a theme that has been rehashed many times over in popular media to no end. Unless they do something very different in MW3 - like they did with the first MW - I don't think the story is going to change much.

Judging by the graphics in the trailers so far BF3 does come very close, indeed even surpassing COD according to some. Lets see how they both fare when they are released. All this promises to be more fun for us gamers.  smiley
