Politics › Re: Governor Ohakim Promises Further Reduction Of School Fees by Bawss1(m): 8:48am On Mar 30, 2011
@ Arinzeeze If there is any talk of propaganda then the article you posted is the first culprit. All these last minute acts in order to win votes will not help Ohakim. He had 4 years to at least start making an impact in that state but all people hear is propaganda.
TV/Movies › Re: Jackie Chan Died Of Heart Attack @ Age 56 by Bawss1(m): 4:29pm On Mar 29, 2011
The internet is replete with rumors about the death of Jackie Chan but they are exactly just that - rumors.

This is obviously the work of mischievous pranksters.

Politics › Re: 10 Things To Learn From Japan by Bawss1(m): 3:07pm On Mar 29, 2011
It is shameful that some posters want to reduce every thread that appears in this section to party politics. There are some things that are much bigger than that - like the lessons the OP cites - and we should never relent in striving for such things. angry
Double shame also to the posters who fail to see how we can learn from the recent events in Japan. Such people number themselves among those who are fast losing their humanity. sad

Politics › Re: Ohakim Commission’s More Water Projects by Bawss1(m): 3:50pm On Mar 28, 2011
What reasonable achievements has Ohakim been known for? All people are fed with are campaign posters of the governor in every corner of the city claiming amazing yet invisible progress.

Again I implore the citizens of Imo to get rid of that governor for their own good.
Politics › Re: Thisday Editor, Simon Kolawole's Description Of Nairaland by Bawss1(m): 2:12pm On Mar 28, 2011
Noticed people refer to Nairaland as a blog. It is not a blog it is a forum.
Politics › Re: Ohakim Commission’s More Water Projects by Bawss1(m): 1:29pm On Mar 28, 2011
The citizens of Imo state will do well for themselves by voting Ohakim out of office. Talk about mediocre governors and Ohakim and Theodore Orji (Abia State) top the list.
Politics › Re: Was Colonialism Good For Africa? by Bawss1(m): 1:15pm On Mar 28, 2011
AjanleKoko:
lekside,
Far from it. I think people are lazy. Your comment regarding 'our leaders' even confirms it. The average Nigerian, nay African, appears to be waiting to be told what to do by a 'leader'. We have a leadership crisis in Nigeria primarily because nobody sees themselves as leaders. People sit and dream of a utopia that they expect a leader figure to provide, rather than than them rising vertically where they are.

For example, you hardly see a plumber putting everything into his plumbing profession, till he rises above other plumbers. Instead what you see is a plumber who prefers to maintain status quo, and when things go sour, blame someone else or even blame the plumbing profession. In Africa, you hardly see consistency. What you see is people stubbornly sticking to doing the same thing the same way year in year out, and when things go sour, they blame everything under the sun.

It's part of why I said earlier that colonialism was inevitable for Africa. The West needed resources, they turned to Africa, and deployed the only tool at their disposal - brute force. We were not ready, so we couldn't protect our motherland.
An honest insight that couldn't have been put better

At the risk of derailing this thread I have to ask; are you guys serious? Is this a common occurrence in our airports, this phone guided landings?

Politics › Re: First Aircraft Lands At Asaba Airport by Bawss1(m): 9:46am On Mar 28, 2011
Nobody is saying that the Asaba airport is a bad idea. What is hard to make sense of is that they are test running an incomplete project. Maybe this is normal for such projects but on the surface it doesn't look right.

Politics › Re: Scam: Delta State Gov Commissions Uncompleted Airport: See Pics by Bawss1(m): 10:06pm On Mar 27, 2011
ono:
What I learnt was that the airport wasn't commissioned. It was simply a'' test run of some sorts'' by the airline invited to test out the airport run way. What ever the case, I think the airport is a laudable project. It will not only serve the interest of the state, it will also bring in revenues to the coffers of government - considering that Onitsha, just a bridge away, and a business hot bed, will now be linked to the outside world by air.

So, there really is nothing to blame PDP about in this one.
Isn't it curious that a test run was conducted in an uncompleted airport. I thought the norm was to conduct such tests after all construction work has been completed. In any case this test shouldn't have attracted all the publicity that the article leads us to believe it did.

Politics › Re: Gej Campaign Strategy - Score Card by Bawss1(m): 2:32pm On Mar 25, 2011
Funny how the OP in describing the past PDP presidents OBJ painted him as vindictive and very bad. (more or less implying that nothing good came from his government) Yet the OP overlooks the fact that the same OBJ has influences deep within the same PDP that supports GEJ.

Anyways I want to know how the OP will address accusations that GEJ is perceived as wavering and keen on maintaining the status quo?

see how you guys are celebrating the purported fall of Gadhafi, the only African leader that the west listens to and fears. Soon they will put a leader that will do their bidding like your leaders do and impoverish the nation like they have done to yours through the help of shell and your selfish brothers.

The silly Libyans will not see the trap until Gadhaffi is gone, and for those of you rejoicing, what Gadhafii did for Libya ,all your leaders put together has not been able to give 10% of it
I see you readily forget that your hero has killed hundreds of his country men.

How did the experiments of some misguided people disprove the theory of evolution.

Evolution is a much debated topic amongst scientists and religious scholars but the article (produced by a pro-creation team), in a bid to discredit this theory, did little in providing any counter proof. It justs shows us how macabre Stalins thoughts were.
