Is this thread not a veiled attack on SA? Who spoke rudely to the OP, a South African or a Nigerian?

Besides has the OP considered the fact that the rule he is upset with was designed to prevent people from stealing 'credit' from decoders just like people did in the early days of transferring GSM airtime?

They say that the customer is king but in many instances the customer is just plain wrong. Deal with it.

Are you in Nigeria? If you were, you would know that the power situation is on the way to being solved. Anyway the power issue is one part of the solution. There are others such as the gas revolutionn - almost 500,000 jobs, the PIB bill another 500,000 jobs. We expect to have almost 3 million jobs from the agricultural refoms and initiatives that are coming. There are others that I could mention.
We are on track, people just need to join hands with this admistration.
Off topic but the line in bold is far from the truth. I am in Nigeria and other than all the talk of master-plans blueprints and grand schemes there hasn't been any improvement in power that I have noticed.

I am curious though, when are the agricultural reforms and initiatives going to be implemented? Any time lines available?

Politics › Re: Do Not Legalise Prostitution – Mrs Abimbola Fashola by Bawss1(m): 8:54am On Oct 13, 2011
As if the threat of Boko Haram is not enough, we are now looking for ways to draw the ire of extremists by seeking to legalize prost!tution. Anyway, regardless of whether this makes economic sense or not, legalizing prost!tution is morally wrong! Almost all the problems that affect Nigeria today stem from the fact that many families are not built on the right foundations and instead of addressing this basic problem we worsen the issues with this? Come on, people!

Politics › Re: Lafarge Cement WAPCO Begins Rail Distribution Of Cement Nationwide by Bawss1(m): 5:11pm On Oct 12, 2011
^It affects our solar system because some people in the south western part of Nigeria which is situated on the African continent on planet Earth are now able to transport cement by rail thereby causing joy peace and happiness to spread among all life forms in the Milky Way galaxy. Is that not a good thing?

I remember driving into Banana Island a couple of months ago, sightseeing. I was with an estate agent who gave me the low down.
1. If you've got a banged up looking car you aren't getting in.
2. Absolutely no okada.
3. The average plot goes for upwards of N100m.
4. They have a special (secret) deal with NEPA, so they get 24/7 power (unllike the rest of us).
5. The houses don't need walls and gates as 'normal' people can't get on the island anyway, but do, and these are some of the most beautiful homes you'll see.

Who is that lives here? Senators and ex generals.
I saw a cordoned off road, with vast land beyond the cordons. Must be talking 100s of billions worth. Who owns the land, Abacha. Getting the gist.
Don't see what this has to do with whether politicians have consciences or not.

Its good that the rights of workers should be protected but when government interferes with the running of private company as it did here then prepare to see less investors coming into your country.

Where in the world does a company sack 3000 workers and the govt turns a blind eye? let alone that the sacked employees are to be replaced by foreigners
Nokia is firing about 3500 workers and the Finish (sp?) government isn't interfering http://www.businessinsider.com/nokia-layoffs-2011-9

From what I read I didn't see where the 3000 workers were going to be replaced by foreigners. Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't that sound a bit odd, aren't local staff more cheaper than foreigners?
