Politics › Re: Do Our Politicians Have Shame And Conscience? by Bawss1(m): 12:30pm On Oct 11, 2011 |
Good point Werepeleri. It is very easy for the average citizen to pass the bulk to the politicians without first examining him or herself. This corruption malaise has eaten deep into the Nigerian psyche. The interesting part of all this is that a leader emerges who embodies or carries the traits that are predominant in his/her followers. We forget where it all starts from. |

Unless the Pakistani government can solve its cycle of debt and disorganisation, ordinary Pakistanis will continue to vent their fury.
An interesting parallel with our situation here except that the Pakistanis have taken to venting their frustration violently.

djustice: When he's paying the likes of you, Eko-Ile (iragbiji-ile), seanet02 and others here on nairaland to sing his praises, you would say that, wouldn't you?
The man has made a point. Respond to that. N2.5 billion for a 115m off-ramp computes at N25 billion per kilometre ($83 million per kilometre) or N22 million per metre. GRAND THEFT, LARCENY, RABID CORRUPTION AND violation are afoot, have been since 1999, and it's getting worse, covered by a thin veneer of co-ordinated and carefully orchestrated media hype.
Fashola is one of the most corrupt Nigerians alive. He's right up there with his gang leader, "Bola Ahmed Tinubu" and James Ibori. He's stolen or permitted to be stolen, far more than ANY other public official in the history of Nigeria. You will find out how bad it is when he leaves office. Mark my words. In that case let there more corrupt men like him in government. We all will be better for it in the end. Nansense! |
Politics › Re: Ekweremadu Asks Senate To Legalise Prostitution by Bawss1(m): 5:28pm On Oct 07, 2011 |
italkalot: of course you cant legalize armed robbery, etc. those are different crimes. Prosti.tution is known as a victimless crime. Do you see the difference? Armed robbery as you mentioned is not the same. We should stop pretending to ourselves - bla bla bla its bad, we are holy, dont do it. shhh. its completely nonsense. We should start seeing with our eyes and not our ears. Prostution will be there if legalized or not, next year , 10 years, 100 years. why are we being naive. People saying its bad, probably have gone there once in their life. hypocrisy. Prostitution is a victimless crime? Says who? Girls held against their wills and forced into this lifestyle will beg to differ. Bribing should be legalized too because if you look at it there isn't any victim there, not so? And even if such a ludicrous argument is to be accepted should we legalize something you agree is a crime? Come on, man just because a vice (and crime!) has existed for so long shouldn't mean we should embrace it as an acceptable form of human endeavor. |
Politics › Re: Power Improvement Talk Is A Ruse - David Mark by Bawss1(m): 4:37pm On Oct 07, 2011 |
All this mention of improvement is amazing. Where I live in Abuja has not seen any improvement in power supply. Last year I could stay for weeks without running the generator but that is no longer the case, now the gen comes on every other day. But that is just me. What about the industries that depend on electricity to function, do they share the same sentiment that things have improved? Just because some people in Maitama or Surulere now have electricity for 20 hrs a day doesn't mean we should start celebrating.
What will count is substantial improvement in power supply and not the marginal increments in mega watts (if they are actually true) that some people are dancing about. |

italkalot: Legalize the damn thing. Nigerians should stop grow up and drop their "holier than thou attitude". Prostitution is everywhere. Even in the west that we try to copy, so why are we being so naive. people harping on HIV - and so? HIV is not transferred because of LovePeddlers, its transferred because people go to the LovePeddlers. You dont like LovePeddlers, stay away. You patronise them, your business. It isnt even a big deal. Dont know why this is an issue Legalize terrorism too since its everywhere. Legalize armed robbery and kidnappings. These vices have been with humans since time immemorial and we haven't come up with a way to stop them. |

mcheew, na wah o. But Siri will continue to grow as newer updates are released. It is a fine addition to the iPhone features, one that many Android phones will want to emulate in later iterations. |
