That map looks quite right to me, I would make Jigawa light green though. Governor Lamido has very quietly moved the state from a vast wilderness into something to be proud of, in my books, he is one of the top performers in the country. What is most impressive is the drive for local technological know how in Jigawa, I believe it is the foremost state in the country in that regard. |
naijaking1:If you remain fixated on the past, you will lose the big picture and be defeated, even before your enemy has struck a blow. The position you are taking is very weak and yes, defeatist. Its time to have a plan. |
kettykings:You are spot on in every single word you wrote. Bang on the money. All those old cargoes creating uncertainty in the country will be totally suprised to find that Nigeria is not what it was when there was a core Northern hegemony. They will see MEND version II, twice as bad and twice as armed. As for the Igbo, there is no better time than now. The opportunity to come in and take their rightful place has been knocking for three months. This is the time for the whole South (whether Edo or Yoruba); it won't come again, prayers get answered just once. |
Pukkah:Don't mind them jare! Depilot was the staunchest Yar Adua / cabal supporter, now he is an undercover IBB dude. Let IBB supporters delude themselves or collect coins; the rest of us see IBB for what he is, a failed man and fiendish demon. |
Atiku Not Yet Our Member - PDP •I’m Entitled To Waiver – Atiku Written by Idowu Samuel and Leon Usigbe, Abuja Saturday, 14 August 2010 The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has tied the fate of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his ambition to be president in 2011 to the party secretariat in Adamawa State which it said is the only authority to confirm whether or not he has been recognised as a PDP member now, having just re-joined the party. The PDP said although Atiku had produced evidence of registering as a member of the party to the national headquarters, it was not in the best position to confirm his membership now because it had no information about whether or not the former vice president had an original PDP card. The National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Professor Alkali Ahmed Rufai, made this known in Abuja during a media briefing, even as the former vice president has set machinery in motion to formally announce his intent to run in next year’s presidential election on the platform of PDP. Rufai said it was up to the state secretariat of PDP in Adamawa State to confirm whether or not Atiku was now a bonafide member of the party, having earlier instructed the former vice president to go back to his home state to reconcile with the party officials in order to authenticate his membership finally. According to him, it is after Adamawa State PDP will have confirmed Atiku as a card-carrying member of PDP that the national headquarters can grant him the waiver to enjoy other benefits in the party, including contesting an elective position. All the same, Alkali announced resolve by the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) to grant its returnee- members waivers across the PDP state chapters. The returnee PDP members, who are now to enjoy the waiver, include Governor Theodore Orji and other members of Abia State House of Assembly. Others are Senator Uche Chukwumerije and Senator Iheanacho Obioma. From Bauchi State, Senator Suleiman Nazif Gamawa, Hon. Umar Kumaila and Alhaji Mohammed Goni are to enjoy waiver as granted by the PDP National Secretariat. Those from Yobe State include Senator Usman Albishir, Senator (Dr.) Lawan Jalo Zarami, Hon. Zakariya Galadima, Hon. Tijani Zanna Zakariya, Hon. John Jonga, Hon. Hassan Jonga, Hon. Hassan Abba, Hon. Abdullahi Kakumi Musa, Hon. Sherif Abdullahi, Hon. Mustapha Bolibe, Hajiya Adama Adamu, Ngurnoma Maidala and Alhaji Sani A. Idi. But the former number two citizen has disputed the claim, saying that the report of the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Reconciliation Committee set up by the party to reconcile aggrieved members had already provided the waiver for him. According to a statement issued by his media assistant, Mallam Garba Shehu, in Abuja in reaction to the PDP’s position, Atiku stated that he was entitled to a waiver like all other returnees to the PDP. The statement recalled that the Ekwueme Committee recommended in its report that the membership revalidation exercise should be revisited to allow for unfettered and unconditional return of all members of the party and access to new members. It added: “This recommendation was adopted and included in the White Paper from the National Working Committee (NWC) to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party in ‘Recommendation 9’ (pp.5). “We do not believe that the party is adopting a different sort of rules in the waiver for Atiku and his associates.” http://tribune.com.ng/sat/index.php/front-page-articles/1845-fallout-of-zoning-north-regroups-to-recapture-power-pushes-for-consensus-candidacy.html |
Very low tech and stupid plot, but what is the matter with our politians and "jujufication"? |
Sss Foils Plot To Kill Gov Written by James Bwala, Damaturu Saturday, 14 August 2010 SOME marabouts have been arrested in Damaturu in Yobe State for plotting to kill the state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Geidam, using spiritual means. The mandate for the marabouts was that some Arabic inscriptions should be written on a slate, taken to a graveyard and buried between two freshly dug graves while some incantations should be recited to the effect that the governor should die or be rendered useless for the rest of his life. Assistant Director of Operations, State Security Service (SSS), Mr. Adeniyi Alfred, who spoke with journalists, said the men were arrested following a tip off. According to him, the SSS laid siege to the area where the suspects reside in order to arrest them, but they fled, leaving behind some materials with photographs of the governor and some Islamic inscriptions on it. Alfred said officers of the command later arrested four persons in a hotel in Damaturu, who told the SSS during interrogation that they were allegedly contracted by one Ahmed Mohammed, a staff member of the Government House, Damaturu, to pray for the governor’s success in the 2011 general elections. The SSS said they were in the Government House, Damaturu, to enquire of anybody with such a name as Ahmed Mohammed, but found out that no such person existed there. Saturday Tribune was told that the SSS also found alongside some wooden slates left behing by the fleeing marabouts, an instruction on the task given to the marabouts by their contractor, which reads” “Governor Ibrahim Geidam has wronged us and he has also wronged the people of Yobe State. We are giving you this task of ensuring that Governor Ibrahim Geidam and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Goni Machina, died the same way that the former governor, late Mamman B. Ali, was made to be forgotten. “You are advised to carry these slates and bury them in-between graves and pray that Governor Ibrahim Geidam should die and his SSG, Baba Goni Machina, should also die. Pray that, if it is not the will of Allah that he should die, let the governor become useless all the days of his life and let it be that he will not see any good days ahead.” http://tribune.com.ng/sat/index.php/news/1848-sss-foils-plot-to-kill-gov.html |
Why do Nigerians always want stuff for free? Awuf and abracadabra simply do not work! . . .The missing word here is "INVESTMENT!" The money being borrowed is mainly to provide a new electricity power grid and to tremendously boost power supply by building new power plants and turning around existing ones. There are also requirements for urgent infrastructural interventions that will boost the private sector. Already, with the servicing of existing power stations Nigeria supplies much more electricity than our rusty and decripit power transmission system can carry. As soon as the power is switched on, something blows, because the grid is old, weak and useless (kept deliberately so). A brand new 700-Kilovolt grid has been signed into existence by Jonathan; when built, this grid will take Nigeria's energy supply capacity to developed World standards. Our gas supply lines are in an atrocious state, because of early planlessness. We have gas lines that isolate the South East, money has to go into infrastructure to bridge gas supplies to the Eastern parts of the country, as well as merge gas distribution lines between East and West. Money has to go into the dredging of the Niger and the creation of inland ports to open up new business routes and opportunities between North and South. The dredging of the Niger is of significant importance to the Northern, Eastern and Western regions of Nigeria; cargoes (eg fuel and timber) that are currently lumped unto our long suffering trailers that clog up and destroy our road surfaces, will be transportable by water at greatly reduced cost. Nigerians, be patient and positive! The quiet dude is just quiet, but he's gonna turn the country around. ![]() |
ikeyman00:Sharap dia, braindead donkey! ![]() Ikeyman, did you actually click the link quoted by the OP? Free education needs to be encouraged in Nigeria, so that we can learn to operate in professional ways and to think critically. Gbawe and his crue have been very busy publishing fake news. This is the link again, click it; if you ain't happy with the one below, click the one the OP posted (tell me what you see). Olodo. ![]() http://www.thegavelnews.net/jonathan-to-borrow-billion-dollars-p152-68.htm |
The Alimi thread was extremly offensive in the strotospheric levels of aggressiveness displayed by some NLers of gay bent. Ignoring it didn't work, because it was aggressively kept at the top of all threads by gay proponents with alterior motives. The political message in the thread was lost from the very first page. The thread was derailed and hijacked; it rapidly became a seedy red light district, gay advert, gay subscription and gay soliciting service, all in the politics section! More worryingly than the above, there were several explicit threats to sexually assault people with dissenting views. It quickly descended into a very dark, murky chapter on NL. Jarus, you did well by locking it. Thank you. |
We await the wise words of lastma. He'll soon be here. ![]() |
Gbawe:This is strange. So while being a card carrying member of the PDP, you have actually volunteered yourself to a PDP faction. Why are you more loyal to the PDP "constitution" than real PDP members? Any secrets to share? Why are you pro=zoning when a large proportion PDP faithfuls are anti-zoning? |
Gbawe:This is what they call holier than the pope. Are you a PDP member? No, so wetin come konsain you? If not tribalism? Were you born to selflessly save PDP? |
Gbawe:No matter the juju you do, Itsekiri, Bini etc remain valid ND groups; Mr Okene has even turned out to be Urhobo too. Na wa! ![]() Seriously, you have made my day, I haven't been this entertained for some time, what a way to kick off the weekend! Dude you're good! |
Patrick okene is urhobo. Probably one of the few Oghara guys not happy that somebody is still in Dubai
I knew it, that laughter was going to kill me today! Jonathans kinsman indeed. . . All hail the new Gbawe Ijaw group which is actually Urhobo! Wetin man no go see for NL? ![]() |
Gbawe:Gbawe, Gbawe, Gbawe! How many times did I call you? So you take this statement as proof that Mr Okene is Jonathans kinsman? Wonders! I am not in any way been unfair to my fellow Niger DeltanIt is not good to cry for a grown man, otherwise I would have given up and wept for you. Oh! Damn! You don't even know if Mr Okene is Urhobo, Igbo, Isoko, Itsekiri, Afemai, Bini, Yoruba (all valid Niger Delta ethnicities) or even from Pluto, yet you, a full grown man have decided that he is not only Ijaw, but is in fact Jonathans kinsman! Damn! www.nairaland.com/attachments/180447_ROTFLMAO_gif3d0c775232c7f27cf80592785b9635b6 |
Gbawe:I must be missing something obvious. . . The article in question was written by Patrick Okene. Where exactly does he tell you that he is Jonathans kinsman? Did you pluck it from thin air as usual? We must be objective in our speech. This tribalistic thing is really eating you up Charlie! Damn! |
Gbawe:Hmmmm! Do you really support those people? It is quite clear that you are a Babangida-Atiku guy. Why else are you so pro-zoning? Are Ribadu, Buhari and Donald Duke in PDP? If your answer is no, then it makes your case all the more curious, because I can bet that you have singlehandedly accounted for at a least 50% of all pro-zoning articles in the past 4 or 5 weeks. |
Gbawe:So na_so wants an ND president to remedy the wrongs done to the ND for 50 years, while you support zoning and wish the North will take over PDP. . . Tell me, who do you think sounds worse to any listener? The man looking to his ND interests or the xenophobe, quoting the hyper-tribalist Daily Trust and single handedly posting and replying to anti-ND topics? You can deny all you want, but take a step back and look down this thread dispassionately; then tell me if you wouldn't come to the conclusion yourself, that you are tribalistic. You even support IBB and Atiku. . . It just doesn't make sense. Anyway, since you've made "Ijaw" the new swear word, what can I say? If you decide to call me "Ijaw", who am I to refuse? ![]() |
You knew what? see me see talk. My friend i am not afraid to state how i feel. Is you position not informed by your being an AC member/supporter? I am not a member/supporter of any party but for presidential election , I am with GEJ. live with it.Finally you have a second accusation against GEJ for the planes he bought. Please do me a favour and mention this credible nigerians and what they have said about GEJ. Its seems like being a critic automatically confers credibility abi?
As well as lavishly quoting the ultra xenophobic Daily trust as proof tha Jonathan is bad (thankfully, we have been spared any Daily Trust "news" today). |
^ E be like say you really hate ND peeps wella! Guy, dem been tif your babe? Damn! Everything is "oh, you are from the ND, oh you are Ijaw", "your son", "brother", "kinsman." Calm down, presido is an Ijaw man, but he is not representing Ijaw land, rather he is representing the country so don't hating every innocent person that disagrees with and labelling them "Ijaw." If na Ijaw girl de hungry you, we can arrange "sontin." ![]() |
Gbawe:You're totally tarred and feathered in your tribalistic darkness. I only hinted at the tribal odour oozing out of every post you make and you out yourself dramatically. Put your hatred away or it will suck you dry and spit you out demoralised, powerless and on the verge of insanity. Dude, how can you hate so much. You really need God in your life. ![]() This is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny, your post is full of "your son", "ethnic bias", "Ijaw". Dude, you go faint o! ![]() |
Gbawe:Hmmmmmmmm! Crusading against Ijaw people as usual? ![]() Leave the tribal thing dude. |
This has moved way beyond joke territory now. ![]() People don't give a damn about what the fckers do, but it has to rammed into our faces for 34 pages? We have seen all sorts of despicable, halfwitted creatures creep out of the unknown to log on and talk absolutely brain dead disgusting crap. This topic is of no use. Since this thread refuses to die, I am being swayed very strongly to believe that some homosexuals are aggressive, depraved monsters that must be destroyed. For 34 pages, it would seem that some folk have only derived material for "self excitement", well the is is the politics section and there is nothing political about this topic, it outlived its usefullness long ago. Freaks. |
@Gbawe - I dont really get your point. Why can't Jonathan compete? - The nigerian constitution allows him to. No? Obj wanted to change the federal constitution. Not the same thing. If pdp dont like him, they can run someone against him in the party primary, no? And if he's as unpopular as you say, then he will lose the primary and someone else will be the party's flag bearer. So what's the problem really ?
If you look carefully through his posts, you will perceive the thinly veiled pungent odour of a tribalist. Look carefully. ![]() |

opeo2000:ACN doesn't even know under what name they will face the elections. How many names have they had? That party doesn't project seriousness and is very tiny anyway. They might win presidential elections next century, but of course, only God knows what their name will be then. If they ever want to challenge the PDP, then they must look to ally with other parties and grow into a national force; not a party running only Edo and Lagos. |
Sources at the meeting held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, said that the senators pointedly told the two leaders that they had not shown seriousness about their campaign for the number one seat and that their insistence alone was not enough.IBB keeps claiming to want the unity of the country, but paradoxically, he and Atiku fight for zoning with incredible zeal. Na wa! |
Yoruba:You need to complain to Tribune, not me. I can't do anything about the title Tribune chose; in fact, the title seems fair enough to me. |
