You need to break it down properly first o.. Is d 2nd job a banking job? Do u enjoy it? Is there possibility of much increase in pay? Are there other teaching opportunities? Do u like teaching? podium: Good morning all,
I will make this short and brief. I have work in a school for 10years now. I started working there with a salary of 8k up till 20k. I now have a wife with 2kids. The salary was not taking care of us again. And I was left in taking loan. But in any academic session ie 1st, 2nd, 3rd term, apart from my salary I do see up to 100k or more base on tips and other deals.
I resigned February and I got a new job of 45k. Now my former job is calling me to come back, that I will be given 30k.. maybe when more pupils come my salary will be increase..
Former job * I go by 7.30 and close by 3.30 and have time with my family * Trekable from my house, I don't pay t.p. * I enjoyed public holidays and mid term break * I don't go on Saturday, still have time with my family * Tips and pension available
New job * I go by 7:30 and close by lastest 7:30 or 8 no time for my family * I pay 400 to and fro * I work on Saturdays no time for my family * No tips anywhere.. just your salary and you will be subcharge for any wrong posting.
I have 1 week to decide... Please help coz I am confused. |

Obi is d person being rooted for not LP as a whole.. so let's be cautious and not repeat d 2015 Jonathan- buhari fiasco for the states. |

Family › Re: After Being Single For Soo Long, Im Now Scared Of Getting Married. Please Help!! by being(m): 10:07pm On Jan 23, 2023 |
As for marriage issues, I think sticking to biblical marriage precepts is what will help us. For children stress, I can assure you, I haven't seen a woman who is unhappy or regrets giving birth. It is always joy even for those born out of wedlock at a young age. The joy of having children far outweighs the stress. EriMma1: This may sound weird but it's my situation now.
I have been a single and independent lady for a very long time. Though I really looked forward to settling down in my 20s and thirties but because I was the over careful type, I couldn't as I kept being picky due to men's character and behavior.
Fast-forward to my lat 30s, I began to lose interest and started getting more comfortable as a single. The upheavals in today's marriage also got to me. As in the way marriages are packing up, the cheating aspect, abuse and domestic violence in marriages all further affected me and changed my whole perception of the union called marriage. So I unconsciously resolved to remain single as long as I'm happy, comfortable and financially independent.
Some of the reasons I also made up my mind are. As a single, Im very much at peace, with no one dictating what and when I should do things or get out of bed. I love my bed. No one is body shaming me when I add on some pounds due to excessive eating and no one is questioning my eating habits as its sometimes the case with some married women. Also running errands when you don't feel up to it just because hubby wants you to do it. Some men can send their wife on errand like crazy and me I hate running errands.
No one is disturbing me when I need time alone which could last for hours. I love my space and privacy. So the thought of having to give up all that scares the hell out of me.
Now, back to the matter.
Recently, some close spiritual leaders in my denomination have been trying to match make me with a single pastor and that one too is shining teeth that he has seen a jimjim sister. When they now openly mentioned it yesterday with the said man around and he too was nodding and agreeing to the proposal, it dawned on me that these people are not joking. When I got home, i sank into my comfy space and began to fret. I mean... The thought of giving up all that freedom is just so scary. I suddenly discovered that marriage no longer excites me and my inner self was fighting it. Also, the thought of carrying pregnancy for nine months with all the stress of looking after babies, tending toddlers ( poo poo) and that motherhood life made me sick instantly. The thought of joggling my job with family life gave me the chills. I see how my married mates struggle with this. Huh. Men...
I don't know. I don't feel cool about this cos it makes me feel like I'm about to be put in a cage and everything about me is going to change.
Now, before you talk about me not loving the man, I think I fancy him and can love him cos he looks so much like my ex of years ago. So that is out of the question. He is a happening lovable man but....... I no longer feel excited about marriage. at least, from what played out yesterday.
Do I need any form of therapy cos my family won't hear of it but this is my situation now ooo... Hmmm |

Car Talk › Re: Does Driving Slowly Reduce Fuel Consumption? by being(m): 12:18am On Jan 09, 2023*. Modified: 10:33am On Jan 09, 2023 |
About faster driving consuming less fuel-- 3 factors are involved 1. The frequency & intensity of braking 2. efficiency of the gear 3. Drag 1. Braking to a particular speed, the higher the speed you are braking from, the more ur fuel consumption will be as you lose kinetic energy each time u brake which is also higher with intensity. Braking from 120kmph to 20kmph loses more energy than braking from 80kmph to same 20kmph. So if u don't have a smooth journey ahead, don't speed too much. 2. Efficiency is best on the highest gear (5) which u can only attain at about 100km/hr. 3. Energy spent on Drag per distance increases as the increase of the square of velocity -- this makes energy spent on drag at high speeds terribly higher than that spent at low speeds--- such that even at 100km/hr on gear 5, the efficiency gains are far less compared to d extra energy spent on drag!! Bonus: if your car is clean the drag will be slightly less than if it is very dirty(rougher surface increases drag-- this is why if u clean ur house windows and nets, ventilation feels better) Also, using AC in hot sun at 100kmph+ is more fuel efficient than winding down (drag is much higher at high speeds) |

Car Talk › Re: He Wants Advice On Buying His First Car. by being(m): 7:26pm On Dec 27, 2022 |
Pls quickly forget about SUVs except u just must have the SUV status or your usual route has very bad roads. SUVs are quite expensive to maintain whenever they breakdown. Of course shocks and all will still get spoilt though at a slower rate than sedans. At d end of d day d money u spend on leg maintenance say in a yr is almost same if not more with SUVs. Consider also engine repairs, fuel consumption too. Muscle camry is gud... Well used 2013 camry can also be gotten for that price. (Personally) that's preferable. And it is higher(ground clearance) than d muscle. patwilly: I enjoin all forum members to actively contribute my budget is 4.5M the choices I am looking at are these :
1. Toyota Rav 4, (2011) Nigerian used. A friend is actually convinced this is the car I should buy as it fits nicely in terms of prestige and functionality. However, I'm not fully convinced as per buying a Nigerian used car and also because I'm not really taken to the RAV4 as I see it as not a masculine car.
2. Toyota Camry 2011 or 2012 (muscle) : I like this car and if it falls within my budget I'd happily buy it. The only negative here is I've been wanting an SUV to be my first car considering Lagos roads etc so I'm not totally sold on the idea of getting this car.
3. Toyota Highlander full option (2007) Direct Belgium or Nigerian used: Now this is the car I I'm most taken to. However, Friends are of the opinion that it is an old car (being 2007) and is gradually being phased out. Also the fact the car does not exactly convey much in terms of prestige etc.
So that's it. I'd appreciate if forum members advice correctly on any of these three car models or recommend something else. Kindly highlight the merits/demerits of buying the foreign used or Nigerian used version of any car you'd recommend.
The attributes I'm looking out for are Functionality, ease of Maintenance, prestige/aesthetics of the car.
I appreciate you all. |

Why do u have a gen that big? Thats a fuel guzzler... Even if all d appliances in ur house are up to 6-9kva, u could still get a smaller gen that u will be using most of d time that can power just fan and tv- u save a lot on fuel that way uniquetechng: I did but it was priced out of my capacity for now, they quoted 8.5m for 9.5kva solar which is way too much for me to spend on electricity at the moment. Might consider it in the future but certainly not now , bought a Kemage 9kva generator few months ago and it's doing a wonderful job.
